Stephanie Meggison: Tom came and gave us an estimate for a new asphalt parking lot. We had three companies give us estimates, A2 asphalt was on the high side, of all three quotes. We went and seen the other companies work and we were not happy with the quality of their parking lots. We called Tom and his crew came out and did an AMAZING job. The job took two days (my parking lot hadn't been taken care of for 10 years) and the company came out to make sure I was happy with the parking lot, sidewalks, and back yard asphalt pad. A2 asphalt is 100% worth every dollar that I paid for their service.

Michelle Eastlake: We had our asphalt driveway resurfaced earlier in the year and a small patio poured in our backyard. Overall happy with the driveway but a little disappointed with the patio in the backyard. We were told to let it sit two days before putting any furniture on it and we waited two weeks to be safe. However the first time we sat in a chair on the patio, the legs of the chairs sunk into the asphalt and have left multiple little holes in the patio. I asked about the bad review because I was so surprised that the lady in the office would do something like that, but she said she was on the phone with 3 customers at the same time and the call had somehow accidentally got disconnected before she could provide some suggestions on who may help that customer dump their old asphalt.I'd highly recommend using them for all your asphalt and paving needs, commercial or residential!

Not only did they do an AMAZING job sealcoating, crack filling and line striping our parking lot, the folks doing the work were professional, prompt and the communication was on point!!! We have a busy schedule at the Alano club, as we are open 7 days a week. Thus, closing our park lot down all at one time just wasn't a possibility. The office manager (Sue) was so on top of the scheduling and communication with us and her crew, she made what could have been a chaotic situation, a seamless and smooth process. The guys came out early morning, worked around our schedule, and came back late in the evening to finish! (They even worked through the blazing hot 95 degree morning with no complaints-no idea how?!) C.S. C.: YCUA (Ypsilanti) contracted out a sewer-related driveway repair to Somerset Paving. They showed up one day to work on it-- said it would take a day or so. That was sometime in early April. I had to bug the city and Somerset Paving multiple times about coming back out. Multiple times they had no idea when they were coming out to finish. "A few weeks from now." In a few weeks I'd follow up, and they'd say "oh maybe a week or two from now." They just did so at the end of May. They also left litter and trash in my neighbor's lawn both times when they did come out to work. Even after they finally finished, they left the cones and barricades that had been there since early April in my yard and I had to contact them yet again to take them.Service:Driveway replacement

April Warnock: We had Sommerset Paving replace our asphalt driveway in August. It was a bad experience from the start. They came a day ahead of schedule when we were supposed to be on vacation. Thankfully we'd canceled our trip so I was able to come home from work and move our vehicles. Right away we noticed large depressions in the finished driveway. We did not drive on the driveway for 2 weeks after it was put in and the depressions were apparent right after the crew left, so I know they were not caused by us. We were not given the option of having fill dirt brought it to level the ground after they ripped our old driveway out although we gladly would have paid for that to ensure the driveway was properly leveled. I contacted Vincent and was told they would come fix the issues but it would be last minute so they couldn't give us a time. Weeks went by without further word, I tried contacting him again and was told not to worry, they'd be out. It's now been months and despite several reassurances from Vincent they would fix the issues no one came out. We have near-permanent puddles in our driveway. Brynn Stelter: I requested an appointment online after hours and they were very prompt at responding the next day to schedule. I met Victor, who was professional and knowledgeable. He was able to explain the process of repairing the driveway and gave different options for correcting the damage. The following day they emailed me a detailed bid for the different repairs and contacted me to make sure I received it. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for asphalt or concrete repair.

Cathie Kibit: Sommerset did our driveway last year but with new baby born right around the same time I haven't yet written a review. HIGHLY recommend. They were fairly priced, quick, and after we had one small issue the owner came out herself the next day to make sure it was fixed. That meant a whole lot to us. They damaged the adjacent asphalt during the concrete install and left quite a mess including concrete spatter on our brand new siding and garage door, and when we brought these things up we were met with a wall of 'read the contract' and 'pay us or we will put a lein on your house'. They eventually cleaned one small aspect of it, we cleaned the rest, accepted the asphalt damage, and we moved on because of the incredibly rude and aggressive behavior we encountered. The worst contractor I've ever dealt with.
