Md Basir: Good atmosphere and peaceful ambience.. Large variety of options in lunch.. They serve lunch combos which is filling and tasty..Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Dhanush chandra Kalathur: Heavenly food and good ambience. Their specialty is Southern Indian food. Everything we ordered was on point, flavorful and fresh. Excellent food and the team running the place seem to be doing all the right things to be successful. Definitely recommend and will surely come backFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Garlic Naan, Mango Lassi, Dahi Vada, Rava Masala Dosa, Tandoori Chicken …More
Avik Biswas: Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Vishnu Santosh Kusam: Probably the place with worst service in all of Ann Arbor. Average food, utterly disgusting service.
Maxwell Berkowitz: Food: 5/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Candace Winslow: Styrofoam is generally unhealthy for storing or reheating food, and persistent pollutant during production and as waste. Alas, I forgot to bring my own container.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Laura: The chicken is surprisingly good since it is not as dry as most Indian restaurants. Try Lassi as well! But the shrimp is just soso, the amount is little.
J K: This place used to be my family’s go-to for Indian food in a2. They’ve really fallen off since Covid. Very disappointed in our most recent visit (3/30/23).Pros:Great authentic flavorsClean facilityCons:They took away the buffet indefinitely. That was the best part! The portions stayed the same size, but now there is literally 2 small pieces of meat/protein per dish. It’s all sauce. Was really disappointed to come in, spend $90 on 3 dishes + apps & notice that all we really got was rice & sauce. Couple that with no more buffet, and I’ll skip next time.
Khurram Rehman: The place is pretty good overall and is better than most Indian food restaurants in Ann Arbor area.
Marwan Nchiwani: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Ananya Shukla: Tasty but somehow mild even after ordering spicy and medium spicy, wonder if its due to being ordered under my partners american name. Also given pilaf instead of plain rice for all of our entrees which was disappointing and has not happened before. 4 stars cuz this is only one experience and I've had many other good ones from here.
Rebecca Denenberg: Large portions. Great!
gayatri aiyer: Suvai will forever be my favorite Indian restaurant. My always go-to place in Ann arbor. Highly recommended authentic and good south indian traditional food...Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
k r: food is great!!!
VOID: The food is delicious but play music a new restaurant I don't want to hear the exact conversation of the person on the other side of the restaurant. At least put in some white noiseFood: 5/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 1/5 …More
Camila Burky: Deliciosos platos! Pedí la opción de almuerzo que traía varios mini platos con pollo y estaba buenísimo. Totalmente recomendado!
Elena G.: Amazing and authentic Indian food!Vegetarian options: Lots of great vegetarian options.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Dhroov Patel: Taste of India is not bad, the food is about what you'd expect out of an Indian restaurant in the United States. The chicken tikka masala tasted a bit strange, it tastes relatively artificial in some sense and I would say its a bit overpriced. The staff is nice enough and the atmosphere inside makes up for some complaints I would have about their food.

The Man Garage: Not the best, not the worst. I ordered appetizer, lamb pasanda and mango lassi that came in the tiniest kids cup. Portions are small. I ordered 2 orders of naan and it came wrapped in foil and steamy. I could tell the top pieces were very tender and fresh and I think they snuck in some old stale naan on the bottom to get rid of it. It was so hard and stale that it was difficult to tear in half.
Rachit Kaushik: Food: 1/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 1/5More
Salisha Baranwal: I just had a meal here and after Madras Masala THIS IS THE PLACE TO EAT FOR INDIAN FOOD. There food was impeccable and better than the food was their host, who not only made amazing recommendations but also let me try some of the Gongura masala. Seriously an amazing place to eat and really nice atmosphere. I will be coming here again…and again :)
Maxim Em: Great place. Great food.

Royal Family: Great food🥘.Great service..Good delicious taste with great ambiance.. Best veg Manchurian and choley bhatura and garlic naan with Malai kofta...Good job..I’m regular customer of this place 👍🏻👍🏻
Nikita Smeshko: Soggy naan probably microwaved, sauces were not freshly made and very watery
Sankeerth Mudiraj: Great food, Good hospitality and its a must Dine in place at Ann Arbor.Chichen Tikka Masala and Lamb Biryani are must try dishes.
S. Avila: I can't believe this place has this many stars! I think the problem is that the people of Ann Arbor don't know any better. This place is awful. I ordered the spicy chicken tikka masala and it wasn't spicy. I also ordered Chapatis---but they didn't have them. Instead, I was offered and accepted garlic naan. The naan was soggy. The sauce in the chicken masala reminded me of Campbell's Tomato Soup when I was a kid. I suspect that it was simply that--a canned soup for the sauce. Aroma is not an appropriate name for this place. It implies the food smells good and is therefore tasty. I have to admit the samosas were good. Who can mess up samosas, right? Of course they may not have even been made on site! Also, why the pitiful Valentine's Day signs nearly 6 weeks after the holiday has come and gone? The ambiance...no, not good. I'm just hoping to save others from making the same mistake I did by choosing this place.
Jared T: Ironically enough, we were walking towards another place when an Aroma caught our attention. Glancing around, the aptly name Aroma Indian Cuisine called out to us and we were not disappointed. They were very friendly, had great recommendations and made sure our little's food would meet her very discriminate standards. My only complaint would be that the "medium" spicy wasn't what I would consider medium. I should've ordered my curry at a spicier level. Otherwise everything was great!
Lillian Hazel Pearce: Yum! I’ll have to add another review as I try more things from their menu, but tonight I had egg noodles (Indo-Chinese menu) and paratha and they did not disappoint! (I needed comfort food ok let me live.) you definitely have to get the paratha !! so yummy

Madras Masala Restaurant: what do users think?
Ned Vincent Bazinkle: The best south Asian food restaurant in Ann Arbor! Friendliest staff as well. A tragedy they had to close down, hopefully temporarily. You and your wonderful food will be missed!
Jimin Lee: Im so sad this place is gone…😢 please come back one day.
Sean Franklin: It had the best Butter Chicken in Ann Arbor, i hope it will come back.
beng beng: When will you reopen it, I am so sad and really miss you a lot cause that the food is so yum
Finnbarr Conroy-Martin: Rip
Rohit Ray: Best Indian restaurant in Ann Arbor by far! I'm really going to miss it and wishing all the best for the owners in the future.
Abdul Ansari: This was our favorite spot: I would bring colleagues and family and friends and my wife here, all the time. I’m so sad it was destroyed in the fire, and I wish the very kind owners best of luck in the future. Very authentic and good South Indian food—and I’m from South India!

Emma Burgan: The best Indian food in Ann Arbor. Everything tastes fresh and consistently amazing! Love it here!!Recommended dishes Garlic Naan, Paneer Tikka Masala, Mango Lassi, Butter Chicken, Naan …More
Conrad: MM is and will forever be my favorite indian restaurant. It's the only place I've found in Ann Arbor that serves the onion chili uttapam and boy do they do it justice. Highly recommend getting it at the restaurant as it's best fresh and you'll likely need to crisp it up again if you get delivery. That plus a plethora of delicious curries makes this my top choice every time. I've tried so many of their dishes and never been disappointed!
pratik nawale: Best BiryaniFood: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Forestbrooke Bakery: My family loves this place! We have been going since before my oldest child was born. Delicious food. I highly recommend the naan, dosa, and palak paneer. Palak paneer is just spinach curry with lumps of cheese in it, my kids enjoy it. Also the mango lasse is a good drink, and kids enjoy it. I also recommend for dessert, the kulfi ice cream for kids, it has a good orange flavor. For a more matured palate, some dessert ideas are rice kheer, payasam, and gulam jamun. Vegetarian friendly, and definitely family friendly. They put up with ALL my kids shenanigans.Vegetarian options: Personally, I am a vegetarian. A lot of restaurants are hard to eat at as a vegetarian with kids. But it is delicious and there are many vegetarian options. In fact, I’ve never had a problem and I have been many times.Kid-friendliness: I am a mother of three and a lot of restaurants are hard to eat at with picky young kids. My children each have at least one thing they will eat. (Or even just rice can be a meal.) Another way to get your kids to eat something is to entice them with a mango lassie or Kulfie (ice cream).
Savannah H: So delicious! Good amount of food for the price. Really great customer service too. The Aloo Matar is really good.
Jack Pilutti: Our go-to Indian place
Miral Patel: Food: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More

Earthen Jar: what do users think?
Amjad Aman: Their food is best described as "delicious and comfort Indian food". Lots of vegan and gluten free options. Not too spicy. Feels like homemade food at a restaurant. Really nice staff!Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten-free and vegan options
D Gilmer: Great vegan options (the majority of the dishes), but I did not find the food to be that good. It could be that I got to the buffet too late in the afternoon, so it wasn't as fresh. I would return earlier in the day.
Jennifer Miller: Food was very good, but not worth the price. I feel like the weight system made me hyper conscious about how much I was scooping and the options are so heavy that I felt as if I was scammed. I would rather pay a higher standard price per plate and get to scoop as much as I would enjoy. I spent $12 and left the restaurant still feeling hungry. My friend I was with ended up spending $25 for a plate that did fill her, but definitely not worth it!
Sydney Gable: I recently planned an event for my department for ~120 people and Earthen Jar provided the food. They were incredibly helpful and responsive to all of my questions. They made sure that all of our dietary restrictions and allergies were taken care of with no problem. The food arrived hot and very tasty!Vegetarian options: All of the food is entirely vegetarian and most dishes are vegan as well.Dietary restrictions: They were very helpful and accommodating with all of our allergy and dietary requirements.
Scott TenBrink: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Tristan Burnham: Food: 5/5More
John Hood Jr: Delicious and fresh vegan Indian food. Simply the best!Recommended dishes Mango Lassi, Masala Tofu, Channa Masala, Nan, Mattar Paneer …More
Dhroov Patel: A rather odd system with the price per pound when you dine in, but this is the closest to homemade Indian food I've gotten in Ann Arbor. Highly recommend if you're a vegetarian/vegan or if you want a taste of homemade Indian food.
Chloe F: I’ve been coming here my entire life and I can’t say enough good things about Earthen Jar. They are always warm and welcoming here! Obviously the food is amazing. Pictured below is my delicious plate and a soy mango lassi on the right. They have my favorite Channa Masala of any restaurant and their Matter Paneer is also amazing - two of my favorite items but you can’t go wrong with anything else. Love it :)
john martin rogers: This review concerns the use of canola oil in all its products. All processed oils are harmful and canola leads the list. It is genetically modified and chemicals are used in refining process. Look it up! The restaurant is doing a disservice to its customers by using canola. Extra Virgin Olive oil, even processed, is a much better alternative because it retains its antioxidants and vitamins. Canola has no nutritional value and is junk food.
Marianna O.: I’ve been coming here for 18 years. I’m not vegetarian. I simply love the food. My favorite is the dal saag and mango lassi. Highly recommend both if you come by. Absolutely excellent. More so, it’s run by the same family, so please support your local business!
Noel French: A decade+ ago I loved this place as a vegetarian undergrad. Today I found that they are at the University Hospital cafeteria two days a week. I've been here most days for about a month as my wife went into premature labor and my twin daughters have been in the NICU. I was overjoyed to see them with a space in the cafeteria, and wish I'd known sooner. Such a delightful respite from the Cottage Inn pizza, prepack sushi, and grab and go sandwiches and salads that I've otherwise been eating. Here's hoping this place continues to offer great tasting, healthy Indian food to hungry students, residents, and visitors for years to come!
Matt Semelbauer: Delicious Indian food with plenty of vegan options, as well as non vegan. A must try!
Joanna Causey: So effin good.Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian 😋
Monica Vogel: Great food, wonderful staff. Smaller place, fresh food. This was one of my favorites when I was at school. Now, whenever I am back in Ann Arbor, I always try to eat here. Delicious!Vegetarian options: Everything is vegetarian
A A: The food was wonderful and so was the staff. All but two of the dishes were vegan and they were amazing.I wish I lived closer to Ann Arbor, I'd easily become a regular. Will definitely be eating here again before the end of our vacation.Vegetarian options: Vegan options are clearly labeled and all dishes are vegetarian.
Laurie & Amjad Aman: Great vegan and gluten free options! Soy mango lasso, ladoos, and more
Gabby Ashenafi: The food here is so flavorful!! 5/5 it’s one of the best places I’ve eaten in Ann Arbor. Their hours are a little difficult but that’s because they’ve started a lot of other partnerships since the pandemic. Come for the food and stay for the kind & warm service
E.J. Westlake: Really great Indian vegetarian food and really affordable.
J: Never a bad experience here in 20 years. The people are great and the food is good. I’m not even vegetarian but I’m not missing meat when I eat here.
Calvin Roberts: I would give six stars if I could.

Shalimar Restaurant: what do users think?
J Singh: Smelled great but got turned away at 8:50pm while the hours are listed at 9:45pm on Wednesday.
Mania Aghaei Meibodi: I would never eat here.
Aruntej Kothapalli: Food taste isn’t that good. Very limited options (not even Biryani) in buffet for the price point. Very Small place and ambience is fine. Service is good. Limited parking.
Makarand Gore: Food: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5More
Tavi Kipnis: Our server Ashu was great! Really loved the rice pudding and the buffet was tasty and had amazing value
PNUT: If I could give negative stars, I would… Great location.. literally the worst service on the planet. Buffet was less than subpar, with many items needing to be refilled and staff was less than enthusiastic in doing it… buffet during buffet hours needs to maintained… especially on Mother’s Day !! This was a terrible variety for even a regular mid weekday buffet… but the fact no one was inclined to refill items as they were emptying seems like a simple concept, yet is lost on the owners running this restaurant. If you don’t want to work, don’t run a restaurant… easy peasy right ? I don’t know if the owner was present today or not, but looking at the reviews after writing mine I noticed that the theme to all the unsatisfactory reviews was SERVICE. Staff rudely told us they were closed even though we were finished and waiting for a family member to use the restroom. Another family member needed to use the restroom and was rudely told no, she wasn’t allowed to use the restroom because they were closing in 10 minutes !!! Who says that ???? Who refuses a patron to use the bathroom ??? Since we had already paid our bill, we weren’t planning on staying longer than needed, but to be told like we were children is absolutely unacceptable. My BIL took the time to make them aware that rudeness wasn’t necessary, but the arrogance of staff was literally mind boggling. Honestly the food was as not even remotely palatable, so don’t understand the arrogance of the staff, as if we were somehow beneath them. Also what restaurant only has 3 mango lassi during a peak buffet time that too on Mother’s Day ? Save your time and money and visit Aroma Indian Cuisine… much better food, much better service. Shalimar doesn’t deserve your patronage…. Don’t be in the customer service industry if you don’t know what “service” entails. Before the owners of the establishment reply with some remark, my family and I come from a long line of service, not in the food industry, but service nonetheless, where caring and ensuring our clients happiness is of the utmost priority. I will happily give a 10 star review when I am treated with respect, and even when things don’t always work out as planned, it’s okay… because everyone is entitled to an off day !! When I would go to a restaurant with average food but excellent service, I will remember that and will go again, and again !! Unfortunately, Shalimar doesn’t realize this fact. In an age where people are having to close their doors due to the economy, people don’t need to spend hard earned money to be treated less than human. To the owners and staff of Shalimar… Please keep this in mind the next time someone next enters your restaurant. Treat them with the kindness and respect they deserve, because your customer is your livelihood.🙏Edit : 5/16/2023I’m adding an addendum to my review, answering to the owners reply… We paid for 8 people, no one in our party shared the buffet… also we never expected mango lassi to be included in the buffet. !! We asked for Mango lassi knowing it was not part of the buffet… your waiter came back and said there was only 3 mango lassi, so we said okay we’ll take the 3 mango lassi and ordered diet cokes for the other members of the party. Your waiter never said it was extra, but we never assumed it was… but I must ask, how do you explain the rudeness of the staff during our entire meal, when we only paid AFTER we ate ? Is it believable that an establishment would allow people to pay for only half the total amount ? You gave us a hand written bill and we paid at the front with a credit card… so if there was any error, it would have been brought up at that time. Thank you for your time 🙏
Frankie Fields: I've been eating here for 13 years and sadly I am not likely to return. I was sent home with the wrong food (carry out in addition to dining in) and was refused a refund. I travel 45 minutes to dine here and was not accommodated when i complained.
Tommy Engle: I was refused service because I was accompanied by my young children. On Mothers Day.
EJ Kiser: We ordered Butter chicken / chicken makhani , Chicken Lababdar and Lamb Korma and we received no rice with our order. Completely ridiculous. Our orders have always been accompanied by basmati rice in the past. Sorry. Not impressed.
Danielle Ward: Always amazingFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Rohit Pawar: AWFUL SERVICE!!!Kept us waiting for 50 minutes after taking order. We got food after 1 hour which was UNCOOKED. Food with no salt. Biryani was just hot rice with no salt and taste. Chicken was uncooked.
Praful Patil: Food quality and service was not worth paying. Biryani was served as a hot rice with uncooked chicken. No flavours in curry, long waiting for almost an hour.
Shajil Muneer: Quantity and Quality both are very bad, we had normal food and per person price went more than 30. Each person had to buy chicken curry separately cz of low quantity
Sidharth Mahesh: Amazing service and really delicious food. Probably one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to in USA.
Angelo Sajosh: Really enjoyed the tikka masala and their bullet naan . Must visit
Renik Muller: Top class
Aneesh Sunil: Amazing place. Must visit. Authentic Indian food!
arya kodare: amazing service, friendly staff and worth the money 💕 🏻
Devinaa Chauhan: Samosa chat was so dry, and its bit expensive side getting that quality. Kadai paneer tasted like store bottle curry no original taste and it was also pricey. And a big no for naan. Although gobi manchurian was lit.
Simon Peter: Thursday may 25th , I came to your restaurant with my family for lunch at 4:45 in the evening. The restaurant was closed and wouldn't be open for dining until 5. We waited outside and then called the business. One of the waiters answered the phone and gave us a warm welcome even though the restaurant was closed. He bought the menu, water, and suggested some stuff as soon as we sat down! We ordered mango lassi, biryani, and idli. The idli as are so soft and served with tomato peanut sauces, and the sambar was very wonderful. The chicken biryani is hot, fresh, and fully boneless.Must visit again !!Nameste !!
Luisa A: Extremely friendly and helpful service! I had a large group order for work (25ish meals plus sides) that wouldn’t go through the clover online ordering system. I called them and they took the order over the phone without any mistakes. They also labeled everything and packed it in a box for me and carried it to my car. Gave us some additional rice and garlic naan as a courtesy as well. Very polite throughout the entire process. I am super grateful for their friendliness as this was obviously an inconvenient order. Thanks so much Namaste Flavours :-)
