Dr. Steven C. Poplawski, MD: what do users think?
dale sirkle: Dr Poplawski did my Roux En Y bypass probably 15 years ago. I lost a little more than 100 lbs and have kept it off.
Melissa Harris: Love Dr Pop.
Sanida: The staff is very rude I have not had my surgery yet I at this point I don't know if I want it it's very sad that no in that office can give you any clarification on the things that needed to get my surgery done very POOR business SAD !!!!
Patti Chism: The BEST!!!!
Megan Miles: I had the sleeve done in 2014. Lost 40lbs. And then it stopped. Conversion to bypass in 2016. Lost 20 more and nothing more. When I ask questions I get shrugged off. When I ask for xrays and other tests I get shrugged off and told it's not needed. Refuse to go back. Seeking other doctors for a second opinion. Not to mention the staff there is rude and and they fail to manage their time wisely. You call and call and get nothing but get the run around. It's horrible.
Kim Dobson: Wonderful.I have lost 90 pounds since my sleeve surgery. Dr. Poplawski is a really good doctor & person. I have recommended him to many since my experience. I would give him 10 stars if I could. His office on the other hand is a trip. I was contacted all the time prior to my surgery, checking on me to make sure I had everything I needed & was ready. After the surgery tho it takes several calls to get an appointment. Getting someone to return a call about a question is equally as fruitless. So they lose one star for that annoyance. I'd take off 2, but they are so caring once you get a hold of someone, I just couldn't. Work on this & there would be no better medical office around.
Ernest Bolden: Dr. Pop. The Best Health fixer, successful surgery on my birthday may 10th 2006...followed by reconstruction on my birthday 2008. That makes a total of three times born, if you know what I mean

Barix Clinics of Michigan: what do users think?
Richard Martin: They seem great until your aftercare. No one answers the phone who can actually help you- only the receptionist who can transfer you answers the phone.Voicemails are full so you can’t leave a message, which doesn’t matter because they don’t return the messages you are able to leave. Then when something beyond your control prevents you from getting your blood drawn a week before your appointment, they will act like nothing like that has ever happened before and that you are so wrong for waiting to come in, even though they told you that was okay to get it drawn that day.I had to ask for another lab form and the doctor actually asked me “you didn’t make copies?” —- 1) didn’t know that was patient responsibility, and 2) someone should probably tell us we need to make copies.Had i know the aftercare would be like this, i wouldn’t have gotten surgery here.
Brandi Wilson: I just came here to say, that Dr. Movitz and Dr. Vayntrube are the BEST! The care and communication they give is absolutely top notch! That's the review
Kretta Julius: The staff was courteous and accommodating. They made me feel very welcome. Dr. Taylor was super nice, very supportive and explained in detail the procedure and steps before and afterwards. Will recommend this service to any who want a referral.
Nicole Lehman: The staff is great besides doctor Vantrobs assistant. She was extremely rude, and condescending when she called me. I live 2.5hours away. I have 5 children that have to be picked up from school. She continued run to her mouth, and I proceeded to ask her to speak to somebody else. She basically said no. Lol. I didn’t even know what she was saying. Then, by the end of the conversation after I rescheduled my appointment, she hung the phone up on me. The office itself is EXTREMELY hard to get ahold of. I’ve tried to contact Jessica multiple times, who is Doctor Taylor’s assistant. I’ve called, left multiple messages, and still haven’t been called back. Still! Patty and the insurance company have been amazing! The insurance company has been on point.
Lucy Little: Staff is great. Revision surgery ethics of Dr Taylor is in question because of the extreme pain in my left side. He explained that they jam the machine into the sides of patients. I've had this surgery before and NEVER had that kinda pain! Now, I can't even lean forward without pain in my left side of my stomach. I only lost 40 pounds. I have 50 more to go. I'm also having problems with a pituitary microadenoma that causes problems with my thyroid. If I could do the surgery over, I'd go somewhere else!
Richelle Katich: Dr Taylor's staff and nurses are awesome I felt well taken care of during my surgery process from consult to surgery
Maggie Williams: Super off putting experience just getting in the door. Dealt with Laurie to schedule my consultation… I told her SEVEN times what my medical history was and she still made incorrect notes on my paperwork. She also didn’t tell me that the consultation appointment is two hours long. Seems like they’re very unorganized and expect a lot from potential patients before they even know whether they’re qualified for the procedure. Will go a different route.
James Hultz: The staff is incredibly friendly. I just hate trying to get a hold of them. If you need to contact someone in the billing department, you're good to go, always someone available, always ready and willing to take your payments. If you need anything, they seem to work with you and then it kinda fizzles out. I have been asking for assistance with my employers fmla which they said they would take care of and there have been issues with trying to work with them with that, and when I wasn't feeling well it was a hassle to speak to someone who could assist. When I do get a hold of the doctors and nurses, they are all incredibly patient, attentive and really feels like they care. The followup is not my favorite.
Rita Gibson: I just had vgs 4-26-21,Great service, attentive and wonderful multi disciplinary team approach. I felt they listened to my concerns and helped resolve my fears.I highly recommend Barix.
LaTonia Stewart: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityThey gave me impeccable service during my 3 days stay. All the staff was GREAT! But The Midnight Nurse Collen should be rewarded bcuz she does her job EXCELLENT! I think I got well faster bcuz of her THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES!! I think this is the best place to come if you're considering this type of surgery.
Miss Daniel: First I would like to start by saying Dr. Taylor and his staff are amazing!!!!! I had a gastric sleeve on 7/27, my hospital stay was very comfortable, I had a little pain during my hospital stay and the pain was managed very well. The nursing staff made me very comfortable and anticipated all of my needs without hesitation. I have had no complications at all. I have be doing everything that’s recommended by the dietian. I’m so glad I chose to go to Barix Clinic with Dr. Taylor and his PA Beth!!!
Denielle Hill: Critical:CommunicationMake sure you ask about the charge for a Consultation appointment!!!!! Outrageous amount of money for the amount of time I spent with the doctor. I will still pursue surgery yet may do it elsewhere due to this charge and the lack of notification from the staff.
Kimmy Johnson: I had my surgery just a few days back from Dr. Pop, and the experience has been amazing. I felt like the his team (nurses, anesthesiologist, nutritionist, etc.) We’re dedicated to each individual and did whatever they could during my stay to assure that I was comfortable and felt okay.Dr. Pop and a nurse even called to check up on me my second day at home, as I had some vomiting the day prior. He assured that I was a in a good place and it was so kind. I would totally recommend going here. 🌻
J. S.: My husband had his surgery 3 years ago and he has had such a wonderful experience. The facility isn't NEW but his doctor was amazing. He lost 160 lbs and kept it off!
Wendy Schneider: I had surgery in August 2019. My experience has been amazing. Dr. Taylor and his staff have been professional and skillful at all points. I can not thank Dr. Taylor enough for giving me back my health. I will be eternally grateful! If you are considering weight loss surgery, you definitely should turn to Dr. Taylor for his expertise.
Planet Crazy: The hospital is old and out dated. My call button didn’t work, when I would press the call button no one came to see if I was ok. My phone didn’t work. I was put in a bed that was for an 800 lbs body frame. It hurt my back terribly. I only saw the doctor for 30 seconds after surgery literally. I only ever met him prior to surgery on the day of my surgery. And that was no more than two minutes. My surgery was successful. The nurse who called to follow up from my discharge wasn’t interested in what I had to tell her.
Deb Mcdonald: I had my surgery 9 years ago. I went in weighing 295lbs. I have lost a total of 163lbs. Dr. Jon Schram saved my life. I live in Ontario and only had a small window of time to have my surgery covered by OHIP. Dr. Schram went above and beyond to fit me in. I am very happy my surgery was done there. I don't like how they go about things in Ontario. Anyway, I am doing great and highly recommend The Barix Clinic. Two thumbs up!!
AMY ANNARINO: Dr. Jamokey Taylor, Amy, the Excellent Dietitians, and the rest of his team were and are outstanding professionals who clearly are called to this specialty of transforming people's health via weight loss surgery. My health has improved beyond any exponential expectation. I continue to keep losing weight stably, have had no complications, my self esteem and confidence are healthy and I am a very thankful, grateful person. IF THERE were SIX STARS I would give them SIX!!! ******AMY ANNARINO RN MEd
Nate H: Pending determination. Revised.
The Restoration Ministries: After calling to get information and a insurance check, I drove all the way up to the center to learn more about it. Never said that this was a paying visit just to get information? Plus my time, gas , three hour trip and these bone heads want to charge me cause they didn't propepry check out my insurance. ? They even had the policy number and everything. Yet now they have the audacity to collect for and send to collections my visit that was supposed to be just some videos and information to see if you can get this done. Don't do it, they take advantage of people and explanations are so vague that it is never laid out or told to you that this is going to be billed to your insurance. I thought it was to be just a nice visit to see more and ask face to face questions to see if I qualify. The insurance should have been checked ahead of any fact seeking visit. Which they said was good to go until I show up? Doesn't even deserve one star rating.
Misty Bell: Sick from day two. Ended up with neuropothy pain in hands feet more really bad in feet and my hand get so I numb can't hold a fork or pen . Although I lost 186lbs I can't even enjoy it.. like I said I need the menu for 2-3weeks and I can do this again. All this hanging skin is painful too. Plz help if u can😂😍😆

Medical Weight Loss Clinic - Ann Arbor: what do users think?
Michelle Thomas: I can't say this didn't work, but I can say I didn't feel fully supported and encouraged throughout the plan. If I gained weight (water weight, etc), I felt like I got a slap on the wrist. But, if I lost weight, it was a celebration. It would have been great to be more supported and encouraged throughout the process. Saima is the worst about this. Constant judgement coming from her and very little understanding. I explained that I had a medical procedure done (a biopsy ) and that I likely wouldn't be in. She just told me to "try" to come in regardless of how I was feeling. That I wouldn't want to "get fat" while sitting around to "heal". What?! Ugh.
Umm Zakariyyah Isaac: Best experience. Kid friendly as well, so I don't mind bringing kids in when I have to get weighed. The program works and I only have my self to blame when it doesn't.
Debora Glaze BirdsofValhalla: Take away the commission sales on products, the grade school decor, be open when people can actually show up (they open at 9 am on weekdays, and close most days rather early, and are barely open on weekends- and there's a ridiculous wait every morning... hello? People have JOBS?!)With the commission gone, then they might be willing to put people on diets that aren't completely centered around nasty shakes, but real food. This would be much healthier. This diet is fine if you want to lose 20 lbs, but losing more it gets extremely boring because it's so restrictive. It would be good to have the option for support in a group setting. Key word, option. The problem is, the support you'll find is meeting individually with the commission paid sales people who want to sell you something. This is not the right motivation, as they are wanting your money. I'm not saying all of them are like this, but this is the way it's set up.Also, take it from me, don't cheat. And don't go back to the way you ate before after the diet is over. Once you're body gets used to the 1100 -1300 (if your lucky) diet they will put you on, you will balloon once you eat a normal amount of calories. With these changes... maybe I would give a couple more stars!
