Zola Bistro: what do users think?
Tyler Kilgore: Updating this after 5 years. We went here for dinner, drinks, and dessert. The food was tasty, the drinks were great. The dessert was delicious. Wyatt our server was very attentive and helpful. The whole staff was very accommodating. We stayed late and didn't feel rushed at all.I will be returning.
Rochelle Wilson: My husband and I decided to try Zola after our return flight h9me from San Juan. We got there around 11a, we left at 1150a after we noticed everyone that came in after us was getting their food. The waitress was very apologetic as she didn't know why it was taking so long. Zola was not for us, I guess. I wouldn't recommend this place to people who look like us....🙄
Nadia Greenidge: One.of my.favorite.placesVegetarian options: Brunch and the ravioliParking: Lot.parking
Brian Degroat: The food and services good but for the party. I'm pretty much feel that it was overpriced. For the portion size.Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Corey Harris: The customer service needs to be more consistent.
Paul DeSha: We came to Zola Bistro on Mother's Day evening with the understanding that it may be busy. But what we received was a train wreck of a dinner. Server was disengaged,it took over an hour to bring our entrée, and the appetizers were completely missed, despite reminders to server, the food was marginal. This was not a very good first time impression. The only positive is that we were seated immediately, and at the end, we were given a credit on our bill for the appetizers that did not show up. The likelihood of returning, slim to none.

Owen Li: I’ve had fine experiences with this restaurant in the past but today’s experience made me never want to come back.We had a reservation for a table of 4. Each person ordered a meal and a drink. After around 30 minutes of waiting, two of our drinks arrive. After another ~30 minutes of waiting, the other two drinks come. Mind you, these drinks are very small and are coffees and Shirley temples (nothing crazy). And there’s still no word of when the food is to come.We wait a little while longer and decide to ask the waitress what’s going on, since it’s been over an hour of waiting at this point. She says she doesn’t know and will ask the kitchen. She comes back and tell us that OUR TICKET HAS BEEN LOST. Put simply, we’ve been waiting over and hour for food that hasn’t even started to be made. How does something like this happen and why weren’t we notified by our server that the ticket was lost? Our server should’ve been periodically checking on us, just like every other restaurant does, to make sure something like this doesn’t happen. This is extremely frustrating. Who knows how long we would’ve waited had we not asked about our food. We decided to leave after hearing about this, as the idea of waiting another- however long it would’ve actually taken to make the food- wasn’t exactly attractive. But we didn’t leave until paying full price for the drinks. 😐👍 Thanks Zola Bistro for all the frustration and this huge waste of time ON MOTHER’S DAY. And special thanks to our waiter for allowing this to happen. Safe to say I don’t think we’ll be returning.
Steve Butterfield: An interesting place. A very interesting menu that was reasonably good but very expensive.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Rosey Stuurmans: Fantastic mushroom and poached egg dish! Beautiful sunny outdoor brunch seating on a nice spring day. I'll be back next time I make it back to AA!
Jennalise Ellis: I took my family to Zola for an important celebratory lunch. And sadly, this has been the last straw. My boyfriend and I have agreed to NEVER return to this restaurant.I live very close to Zola and so badly wanted it to be amazing. I have dined there multiple times and keep giving it another shot out of convenience. Yet the poor service has caused me to never return.Yes, the food is tasty. Expensive.. but tasty and the menu has many good options. However, by the time you are served the food will be cold.It doesn't matter what time of day you go, brunch, lunch, or dinner. Be prepared to not be served for 2+ hours. I hope this place is sold to someone else who can manage their staff and kitchen more efficiently.
Afshan Najafi: We went there for brunch. I loved the Turkish eggs, it was my first time having baked sunny side up eggs and baked feta cheese, and it was absolutely yummy. I really enjoyed the rye bread and the butter as well. Coffee is alright. The only reason I am not giving five stars is the service. Our waiter was very polite, but did not know the details of the special menu, also did not frequently checked on us to see if we need anything although it was 9 am on a Saturday and not busy at all.
ReMax Platinum Ann Arbor Agent Gloria Pearson: Love the calamari and adult beverages. The price point was abit expensive for drinks and food. But the experience was good.
Med A. Sahli: This bistro is amazing, great for Brunch, and the food was amazing.Recommended dishes Classic French Toast, Zola’S Classic Waffle, English Breakfast …More
Desi Garland: The atmosphere was amazing, and the view outside was lovely. The place was spacious, and the waiters were very nice.I can't recall the name of the dish I ordered, but it was a flatbread that had lamb on it. I didn't really enjoy it. It had an off taste that I wasn't expecting. The flavor was kind of bland and mushy. My caesar salad was very delicious, freshly grated parmesan cheese, homemade cruton's, and caesar dressing. I normally like olive oil on my salad, and they had it available. Most places don't.We also ordered an item that consists of a deep-fried califlower. It was very delicious. It had a curry like batter that had the perfect crunch, serviced with an AMAZING sauce that went well with the cucumbers that were in the dish.
Mern: Olive appetizer was fun to munch on. Mussels with spicy chorizo was a nice variation on an otherwise classic dish. Great dinner of Bream. The fish was done perfectly. Light and delicious. Served with plain arugula which brightened up after adding balsamic vinegar and oil to it. Service was a bit slow, but meh! Gave us time to talk and slow down a bit. It’s our second visit here and it hasn’t disappointed. We will be back.
Kal Malhas: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Andrea Kaufhold: Good food and drinks. A bit pricey
Brie Henthorne: The Maize & Blue Martini and the Smoked Salmon Bruschetta were delicious, however the entrees were some of the worst I have experienced in this price category. The flat iron steak was gristly, the steak, potatoes, and spinach were so under seasoned that salt and pepper didn’t make a difference. If you choose to come here, I would recommend for drinks and appetizers, not a full dinner.
Zachary Bramblett: My food was very bland, and the service was average at best.
Charles Carlson: Nice selection. Tasty food. Lovely people. However, the quality control seems to be slipping, post pandemicFood: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

Noah Zimmerman: What a great place! I have been here countless times throughout my time at UM, from friend brunches, bringing my family, and even a first (and recurring) date. It’s a criminally underrated brunch place and if you have the pleasure of having Senna as your waitress, you will be well taken care of.I recommend getting the pancakes. They’re big and fluffy and the toppings are delicious. Plus, you can get a side of eggs and hash browns (which I think are the best in Ann Arbor) for pretty cheap too.So, to summarize, cheap food, great service, perfect location, what isn’t to like!? Thus, five stars.
Saad Qureshi: Nice location and ambiance but slow service and poor food quality. QR code online menu hides prices. Attached is a photo showing a bug found in our food (questionable kitchen cleanliness), no compensation was provided, the item was just remade. Many better options in Ann Arbor especially considering the cost
Buttons n Rubbish (ButtonsnRubbish): Mediocre food. Ordered Eggs Benedict with salmon and a decaf coffee. My eggs came without the capers and when I asked the waitress I was then told that they were out. The bechmel sauce still tasted of uncooked flour and was gritty. The waitress only refilled my partner and I's coffees after asking several times, and even then it was only half a cup. The ceiling pieces were dusty and the overall place is pretty slapdash. I'd rather spend my money at a local diner.
Cecelia Pyszora: This is my granddaughters favorite breakfast restaurant. She invited us there after the graduation ceremony at the Big House. We absolutely loved it! I had a hard time deciding what to order because Everything sounded so good! We all had something different and we all loved it!Vegetarian options: I ordered the vegetarian option. Glad it was a choice. 😊Kid-friendliness: It was awesome! My grandson kept an eye on the football game on the television.
Maddie C.: We went here for brunch on a Saturday (around 11 am) and were seated with no wait, which was nice. I ordered the Italian grilled cheese and it was delicious. It came with waffle fries that were tasty as well. The food came quickly but we had some issues cashing out. To pay, you're supposed to scan a QR code on the receipt but it wasn't working for either myself or my friend. We had to flag someone down to pay with card but it took a while for anyone to notice us. It was busy though, so I understand that. We left a little after noon and there was a wait then. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant.

Rose Sproat: update: even at 8:30 a.m. while the restaurant was empty, with a party of 15, they wouldn’t seat us unless all 15 were there.don’t visit on a weekend unless your entire party is willing to wait 30+ minutes. even when 3/4 people in our party were there, we were skipped over when tables were ready. An extra fifth person joined our party while we were waiting, and the host was so unfriendly and cold that I was wondering if she would make our party leave after already having seated us. i was charged for a side when my order’s description said it included a side and wasn’t told this until it showed up on the bill. food was bland but the servers were friendly and the food was plated well. spare yourself the wait and overpriced food and go to franks instead
David Silver: Kid-friendliness: Brought my 3 kids, wife and mother in law for lunch. Very kid friendly. Not many people were there at 230 pm. 4 year old was a bit loud with laughing.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Stuffed French Toast Dietary restrictions accommodated Not sure …More
Carly O'Neill: Love this place! Came in to study and grabbed food & coffee. Service was amazing and food was great. Will definitely be coming back.
Ingrid Rothschild: I just had lunch at aMa this afternoon and had such an incredible experience. It is very cute, cozy, and aesthetic inside. Not only did my food look good, but it tasted amazing and came out pretty quick for being busy. They have a big menu & it catered to our whole party (especially those with a sweet tooth!). You should expect Ann Arbor prices for their food & a virtual menu. Waitstaff was attentive and enthusiastic, we’ll definitely be back!
Gino Gisondo: Food great. Staff is nice. Plenty of varietyFood: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Toast Parking options Parking is unavailable …More
Rebecca Denenberg: I came here twice. Both times it was bad. Worst brunch place on campus. Not sure why people keep coming back. Everyone I know agrees. They also don’t have prices on their menu so u have no idea how much you’re paying.
E Zietlow: Food: 2/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 3/5More
Emily Rouse: You need all of your party present to put your name down which is quite annoying but I understand. The food was so good and cheaper than expected. They have a qr code menu which is nice. They didn't split our bill or ask if it needed to be split which was a little hassle between our group.Love the decor and the staff was very friendly!Vegetarian options: Very accommodating for vegetarian options. They were happy to substitute non dairy milk as well.
Alexander Hsu: great food
Agnieszka Knych: Do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else. The lady who runs the host table is extremely rude and off-putting. The food here used to be good but during the pandemic the quality really went down and never got back to pre-pandemic since. Produce isn't fresh, the order was messed up, food was bland, and it was served cold. The last time I stopped by, I waited to be seated for 30 minutes. When I finally inquired about the wait, a young male server told me they skipped my name and had seated 4 parties past mine (after host told me to wait in the corridor to be called in)… I will not be coming back here. Do better.
Deborah “Destinykids” Abodunrin: Only thing good was the French toast, very slow service, order was messed up, don’t have accurate prices on their menu, not rlly seasoned but nice vibe overall

Justin Jones: Only reason for 1 star is due to not giving them a zero. Waited 20 minutes to be served. Never got bread like the rest of the customers. While my wife and I waited, 3 employees talked at the bar and helped the Caucasian customers. Never asked for a refill until visibly obvious I had enough. Now to the food. Extremely over priced food for nothing more than ambience. Same quality as Applebees.
Eryn Baker Bickerstaff: Atmosphere, service, and plating were phenomenal. As far as the taste of the food goes... Everything was under salted and bland.Apricot cheesecake tasted amazing, but the crust was not incorporated properly and had an off texture.

Michael Olechiw: I recently booked the private dining area at Carson's for a group of 20+ colleagues as team dinner. Kathrine, the dining room manager, and the staff were really incredible. Café Zola: what do users think?
LiLi Sheree: I order the “shakshuka” with a side of potatoes and rye toast. I should have known by the misspelling that the dish would be more of a shak-fluke-a. It was made incorrectly, for starters. No tomato base just tri-colored peppers, onions, olives and feta cheese. I wasn’t mad at the olives and feta because I love both but the eggs don’t mix well without the tomato sauce. There wasn’t any spices, either- not a sprinkle of garlic, salt, pepper, cumin or cayenne AT ALL. Very bland. And my potatoes were cold. The re-up of potatoes were nuked for a minute and those were lukewarm. Needless to say I am not pleased but it wasn’t terrible. Three stars for ambiance and only eating brunch. I’d have to eat lunch or dinner to have a full breakdown of the place but I’m unsure if I’d come back, honestly. The price wasn’t worth what I was served.
Kari Hofmann: Had the burrata and drinks to start off the day.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Olaf Każuch: Service: 1/5More
Kelsey M: The food here is really excellent and unique. My only complaint is it’s very expensive, but so are most restaurants in Ann Arbor. The atmosphere is very nice and ideal for a date. The building itself is old and beautiful, and the service is good.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Medi Hoss: The service girls are nice with smile and wow.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Turkish Eggs …More
Ana Nagi: My husband and I came here and the food wasn't even that good we wait for 1 hour to get our meals and the service was subpar, and kinda expensive for 2 people, and portions are really small. I don't recommend it
Becca H: The food is tasty, but often the portions are small and seem overpriced. However, the last time I was here, I tried the Lemon Tagliatelle (vegetarian) and it was amazing and immensely improved my perception of Cafe Zola! (Hence 4 stars.) I also love the Hendrick’s Cup and order it every time I come here. Other honorable mentions are the goat cheese small plate and shishito peppers. The cheesecake was tasty, but my mom’s is better (: My sister got the bread pudding, which I preferred and would order again. The service is always friendly, but often slow. My advice: Don’t expect to a fast meal, linger and enjoy your company, splitting a few dishes. And if it’s nice out, sit outside!
Michael Keden: Our experiences at Zolas have been declining and our last visit will be just that: our last visit. Firstly the seating is overcrowded an awkward for diner and server alike. Secondly, the food: one $27 order was Egg Benedict (emphasis on the singular egg!) that was accompanied by garnish that must have been from the compost bin; the other was allegedly a Kobe Beef burger that was clearly a preformed, probably frozen, pattie cooked to the chefs liking, not mine. The Humus was good, but I would have liked to have finished it before the server cleared it without asking. Never again…
Asiyeh Golabchi: One of the best places for a brunch in Ann Arbor.
Ron Reed: Icafe Zola is one of my long-time favorites.Great for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a quick coffee.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Turkish Brunch …More
Nate Slappey III: Honestly was not impressed with the food at all. My wife and I came for breakfast and my Huevos Rancheros was not good and the beans were lukewarm and runny. My wife got the farmhouse omelette and did not enjoy it either. The ingredients on the inside weren’t really cooked well in collaboration with the omelette. Would not recommend for breakfast.
Megan Keator: While it was a bit more money than we were expecting they got us right in and the food was seriously amazing! Our waitress was super nice!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
A.M. Carvalho da Silva: Brioche pudding... Amazing!Turkish coffee ☕...please don't defame it!
Virginia Bushnell: Always had great food here. Good cocktails too.
Merrilees Craig: Had a waitress named Rachel who made our meal such a wonderful experience! Food was great!
Amanda Liss: Took 25 min to get water refills and the bread we ordered. The bread wasn’t warm. It came with barely any butter (which was rock hard) or olive oil. The arugula salad and chicken skewers tasted good but were both extremely small for the price. Waiter was very inattentive. Silverware and plates were dirty.Food: 2/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Mi M: The best place to eat in Ann Arbor. Owners are the loveliest people , so kinda and caring about their customers and employees.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options.
Delaine Krager: Delicious omlette duxelles! But definitely spendy. Date-night atmosphere to impress.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Carla Sallas: Nice place! All of the food we ordered was really good. Love the menu options and the staff was friendly and nice! This was our second time eating there and plan to come back!
Steph Oxenhorn: Simply the worst service I've ever had. It took an hour and a half for only HALF of the table to get their meals. The last meal arrived 30 minutes after that. The food was cold and they forgot parts of our orders. Tables around us were receiving food and leaving as we sat there. Our waitress was nowhere to be found during this experience for us to even ask about our food. If the staff would have acknowledged the wait time and maybe given us some bread I would have been a little more understanding, but there was no communication whatsoever. They let us sit there while they hid in the back. We asked for the manager and it took another 10 minutes before we saw someone. When the manager finally came over she only gave us 30% off the bill, after the waitress promised us 50%. It was our friend's birthday and they had said they would do something special, that also never happened. They offered us a $100 gift card for our troubles, but we told them we didn't want it because we'd never be back.
