Mutiny Marine Of South Lyon: what do users think?
Michael Lincoln: I haven't had a lot of big stuff done by these guys. But i've done winterizations and commissions and they do good quick work. Some things they do that are becoming rare include; they answer their phone, they are not crazy picky about when you bring your boat in, prices are super fair so far, and they don't act like they are doing you a favor. Super refreshing service.Services:Tune-ups,Oil change,Battery inspection/service
Kevin Prescott: Great Experience -- Derrick and team replace an engine, upgraded my pontoon with hydraulic steering and detailed the pontoons -- on-time and on budget as promised. I would highly recommend Mutiny!Service:General installation
Robert rice: Thanks to Alex and the crew at Munity Marine. Brought my Mini Kota trolling motor in for repair. They got the repair covered under warranty. Great service as always.
Mike Lund: Sad to have to write this review. After several years of good experiences, mostly just winterization of my small boat and outboard motor, I can no longer recommend this establishment. 25HP outboard winterized last season, this spring ran rough first time out. After consultation with Mutiny, it was recommended the spark plugs be changed. I attempted this myself (my mistake) and managed to cross thread two of them. Took it to Munity to get it done right. After several weeks (not the issue) was told they were irreparable. Needed a new head and gasket, new spark plugs, estimate $2,200. That was not in my budget so I asked if they would make me an offer for the motor as is, maybe I would downsize and find a cheaper way. This is a 2012 Mercury 25HP, Four Stroke EFI, tiller. They offered $500, which is insulting. Still not the issue. They say if you do a good job, you'll tell three people, if you do a bad job you'll tell 10. On the 2nd person, they said "why don't you just put in a heli-coil?" Enlisted a neighbor with better hand-eye coordination and fixed both spark plugs for less than $10. Insult to injury, didn't even need the heli-coil, just needed to re-tap the threads with the correct size tap and replace one of the spark plugs. I ran it several times this summer, it purrs like a kitten. Very disappointed with Mutiny Marine and bummed that I have to punish myself by driving all the way to Brighton to buy overpriced items at Wilson and winterize it myself this year.Edit in response. I appreciate that you have taken the time to respond, as a result I have added one star. Can't do more than that though, because your response is lacking. You did not clearly communicate that your hands were tied as to the repair options available. We went directly to needing a new head without any other solutions presented. I did not have to drill anything, I did not have to install a heli-coil. All I did was run a tap and clean up the threads. As I stated, the offer of $500 was not the issue, I get that you are not in the business of selling used motors without warranty. "Hours researching parts and options"? Maybe. Not really my issue either. My issue was communication. I assumed that you guys tried to fix it before jumping to a new head. I assumed that a simple repair wasn't enough. Since all it took was a simple repair, I am left believing that you either didn't try that or didn't want to. I spent half the summer with my boat in the garage wondering if I could get anything for it, wondering if there was another way to repair it. That was because I believed your diagnosis. Glad to have neighbors who know more than I do. If anyone bothers to read to the end of this review the take away should be "ask questions". Don't assume the option presented is the only one. Give Mutiny Marine a try. They worked well for me for a while. Just be ready to get a second opinion if something seems off. Best wishes.
Spencer Rogers: I haven't gotten my purchase yet, and it's been over a week 😪.After infestation I I found out its not Mutiny Marine failed to do it's job it was the transfer of money by banks. These people have everything for my boat and engine. I look forward to doing business with them again if I need so. Very professional and accommodating. THANK YOU MUTINY MARINE FOR YOUR HELP
Randy Turner: Great guys to work with! First time there and they make you feell like you have known they your whole life!
jeff barber: Extremely helpful staff!! I scheduled an appointment and my boat was completed and ready for pickup right on time! The work was done in a timely manner, neat and clean! I highly recommend these marine technicians!Service:General installation
David Lis: These guys were awesome.. told me two weeks and in a little over a week they called me with a list of things they found with cost of each.. got the work done at a very reasonable price in the two weeks they side .. best boat repair experience I have had in the last 20 years.. already referred them to two of my neighborsService:Engine repair
Jerry Woods: They did everything I asked for.Had issue getting a hard to find electrical part for an older Johnson but found it.Had quite a list for them to do and have zero complaints.Charged me about half the $$ of what I thought it was going to cost.
Kyler Anderson: My old review must have been taken down or maybe never got posted. But 2 summers ago took a jetski there for repairs, not only did they have a long wait time and terrible customer support to let us know when they'd get to work on it. They winterized it and never started till the next summer. After countless calls they insited it would get done and the day I go to pick it up after several calls, I throw it in the water and bam same problem, charged upwards of $1k for the work alone and the thing never ran right. Took it to C&C sports in brighton and said they'd have a parts delay but kept good customer communication and had it done before summer ended running better than the day we bought it. C&C said there was multiple parts installed wrong and even a wrong part installed into the jet drive unit along with pieces still damaged that should have been part of the repair. C&C charged an equal price and even with their delays still had the jet ski up and running quicker and better. Theres no comparison, save your time and money and skip this place.
Jason Hath: Great place to get service done. Friendly staff that communicated with me as they were going through the engine. I will definitely use them again if needed.Services:Oil change,Engine repair
glenn munroe: This was the first year we have utilized Mutiny Marine for winterization and boat storage. We were coming off a year of poor service from another local provider. Alex and the team at Mutiny Marine did an AMAZING job with our boat, from transport, service, winterization, cleaning/detailing, delivery. Top notch group that WORKS to earn your business. We will never use another provider that treats us like a number. Mutiny Marine is best in class.Services:Winterization,Oil change,Boat cleaning,Boat trailer service
Nathaniel Stead: Had these guys work on a outboard twice so far. Last year they rebuilt my lower end...got the boat in faster than any other place in the area....very happy with the work. This year I took it back because I had a little stutter with the engine....the problem took a bit to figure out but I felt like I was kept in the loop the entire time. They did not try to over sell me on things they had to try during the diagnostic tests. In fact I felt I should've paid them more for going above and beyond but they wouldn't except it. If I had to explain it best I would say that I have serious trust issues with allowing people to work on my things but I have zero concerns about letting mutiny marine service my boat and will continue to use them as long as I own a boat.....highly recommend, stop looking for a marine mechanic and give these guys a call!!!
TIM Tyndall: Mutiny marine serviced my boat wich needed alot of work. I am very satisfied with the service and work performed. She is all ready for some fun in the sun!Services:Battery inspection/service,Accessory electronic installations,General repairs maintenance,Engine repair,Water pump service,Tune-ups
Brian Haymart: I've been trusting Mutiny Marine to take care of my boat for several years now. I've used them for winterization/storage, engine maintenance/repair, and even trailer repair/maintenance. Customer service from Derrick and Alex has been great, and their technicians do excellent work at reasonable prices. They don't pressure you to do work that doesn't really need to be done, which is greatly appreciated. They really do their best to meet the needs of the customer. Now that they are a certified Mercury Marine sales and service dealership, I'm even happier to be one of their customers.Services:Winterization,Engine repair,Tune-ups
Jacob Spragg: Had a new steering system installed by Mutiny and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the service I got. Very friendly guys at the shop and I had my boat back extremely fast. When an issue came up, they gave me some good alternative options instead of just pushing the most expensive option. I’d recommend them to anyone!Service:General repairs maintenance
Ocean Bound: They got me in before the spring rush! Alex went out of his way to make sure I got the scheduled service we agreed upon. Clean and professional install on my electronics, and boat was clean when I got it back. Ryan was really great in explaining how the goodies work. Thanks Guys!Service:Engine repair
James Lommel: Mutiny Marine does terrific work and they are reasonably priced. I recommend them very highly.Services:Tune-ups,Engine repair
Jason Wendecker: Services:Winterization,General repairs maintenancePositive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality
J Peitz: Services:Oil change,WinterizationPositive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Value

Jake’s Jet Ski Repair: what do users think?
George Joniec: With a 1996 Polaris SLT 700 there were issues finding a shop that would touch it. Found Jake's on-line and texted them. Important to text and not call. Jake was great to work with, understood the issues and got the jet ski running great. Understands engines, fuel systems, electrical and the problems that plague these older machines. Prices are very reasonable and it's worth the effort to take your ski to Dexter. Highly recommend Jake's.Services:General repairs maintenance,Engine repair
Stephen Phillips: Called and left two voicemails and followed up with two text messages as suggested and never received a response over 10 days. Disappointing.
Steven Kramer: Jake was amazing to deal with. He was able to estimate repairs prior to me even taking him the machine. He was knowledgeable and extremely friendly and professional. He was able to repair my 1995 XP, and was very reasonable on his prices. Most dealers wont even tough these 90's skis. Jake knows them. He was fair and honest, in my opinion. I will definitely use him again, as I have 3 other 90's jet ski's. Highly recommend!!
Elise Coy: Jake was so friendly and helpful! Very knowledgeable on jet skis and knew exactly how to get mine running as good as new! I would definitely recommend him to other jet ski owners if they are having any issues!
Peter Crnogorac: Excellent
Dr. Gareth Trichardt DC: Jake did a great job and has great prices. Highly recommend this business.Services:Winterization,General repairs maintenance
Joe Doughty: Jake was great with communication. Responded fast and seemed to know what he's talking abt he emailed me a manual as well to help me with my jet ski and even was willing to travel from MI to bluffton IN to help me. Of course for a travel fee but that's expected just glad somebody will come so far to help cause not alot of ppl out here for jetski repair.
Kris Moore: I tried to take my Seadoo GTI PWC to several shops but nobody wanted to work on a 1997 due to its age. Almost to the point I was ready to list the unit on market place and cut my losses. I tried one last search in the area I work and Found Jake's Jet Ski Repair. I reached out and left a message. Not expecting to get called back. To my surprise, Jake did reach out and we had a wonderful conversation that led me to bringing my unit to him for some testing. Once he was able to look at my unit, shortly after about an hour or so, he said he had bad news and the engine was damaged. This did not surprise me as I somewhat expected it. After fully evaluating the damage, Jake kept me up to date with text messages, photos, and his professional opinion on what the root cause was.I stopped by and had a very personable conversation with him on options. He provided me with options to replace the engine and provided me with a very professional digital estimate. After discussing with my Wife, we decided to have him move forward. In addition, I also asked him to replace my worn out seat, winterize, and detail the unit so come early summer we could once again enjoy this unit. Throughout this entire process, Jake continued to amaze me with his frequent updates, professionalism, timeliness, honesty and integrity. I took delivery of the unit last night and was thrilled as Jake has breathed new life in my Seadoo so that my family can continue to make lasting memories. The Seadoo looks amazing and I cant wait to take it on the water. Jake, I am so grateful our paths have crossed. To anybody searching as I was, STOP...…You will not find a better avenue than Jake's Jet Ski Repair, I implore you to make that same phone call I did, I promise, you will not be disappointed!Services:Winterization,Boat cleaning,General repairs maintenance,Engine repair

Mark Pettersson: Tim has worked on a few of my boats. He has worked on Outboards & in boards for me and done a great job on both. He has also installed many different electronic devices such as GPS fish finders and electric trolling motors and wiring 4 downriggers and other accessories with no problem and nice clean installations. He is mounted outboard kickers with auxiliary steering and adjustable kicker brackets. Everything was installed perfectly. He does what it takes to make you happy just try not to wait till the last minute to bring it to him and expect it overnight every time. He has helped me out with very short notice but most of the time I try and schedule with him and he does what he says. His shrink wrap and winterization are quick and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this honest mechanic.Services:Accessory electronic installations,Battery inspection/service,Winterization,General repairs maintenance
Hussein: Tim definitely is a good man and a great mechanic but he works by him self so things will take for ever to get to, if you're in a hurry to get your boat done then this isn't the place for you but if you're not in a hurry then hes definitely one of the top mechanicsService:Boat trailer service

David Burger: This place has been working on my 98 Sylvan 4 years. I was having a little problem with my 5 horse Mercury kicker so I took the carburetor up to Tim he took the time right on the spot to take a look at it. Turned out all it needed was a gasket, carburetor was leaking gas. 44 bucks I was able to fix it myself. Hopefully I won't be back till I winterize the boat lol.

Mark Haapala: Took my 1970 Johnson 9 1/2 horse for tune up , very fast service. ran the gas out and fogged the engine and put it in storage in my basement.
Sheldon S: My first trip out in my 95 Sea Ray, the engine starts making funny noises and losing power. Take it to Mutiny Marine in South Lyon and after a $135 diagnostic fee they tell me my engine needs to be rebuilt or replaced. After calling around to compare prices I happened to call Pierre at Tri-City Marine. He immediately questioned the diagnosis and talked to me for quite awhile about my Mercruiser engine . I got a sense that this was a trustworthy and competent mechanic, so I immediately took my boat to him, where after looking at he told me the boat just needed a head gasket job, instead of a full rebuild! And he was done in a couple days, at a fraction of the price. These guys have me as a customer as long as I own a boat.Service:General repairs maintenance
Gregg Garner: Use them multiple times on a old boat others are afraid to work on, great work, great service.

They have gone above and beyond, helping us as newer boat owners. We had an experience with a horrible place (I-94 Marina, Gary, rude, 0 customer service, took advantage of our lack of knowledge, DON'T GO TO I-94 Marina) Pierre and Nate fixed our main issue immediately! R&L will take care of you. Make no mistake and establish a relationship with this company! Please note, when you pull in their driveway, go to the back building. The first one is a different company. We love and appreciate all of you help, Pierre and Nate!!Services:General repairs maintenance,Valve adjustment
J D: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,ValueOwner is awesome. Good guy to get to know and he is knowledgeable and very fair. Just a great guy to know.

Lakeisha Howard: Good food
j bam: Pierre is great
Craig Benedict: Don’t think they can be trusted. Had the same problem with boat at least 3 times. Rebuilt carb and drained the gas each time. Boat still didn’t run right. Always quick to say there is water in gas. Will not go back.
Ryan Simmons: Very professional and friendly. I am very pleased with them everytime I go!
Greg “Cinco”: Guys are good, I bring my boat in every year for winterizing. Service is quick if you call ahead to make an appointment.
Kevin Fischer: Took my boat here for loss of power. They told me it needed carb rebuilds 839$. Which was already done. So I diagnosed it myself and turns out to be the stator. This is what you get for 30years experience they said. I dont recommend anyone to go here.
