Crooked Lake Rustic Campground: what do users think?
Nick Simples: A very enjoyable campground. My friends and I were looking for a nice rustic campground and this will do. So the place is a mile or two drive into the woods which is really nice. Place has no electricity or running water, but does have two outhouses and I believe a couple well water cranks. The sites are very nice and large. You can park at least 3-4 cars and have tons of room to camp. Each site is spaced out, but other campers are still noticeable. We camped at the first site near the entrance and it wasn't bad. Many people thought the cars would effect the site but it honestly wasn't an issue.I've read some people complain about a highway but we didn't notice it once.Would definitely come back again
Jeremy Dunn: Gem of a campsite. Nicely wooded....good sites, clean, spaced well. Friendly staff.
Richard Gorham: Clean and quiet!
Katie Morgan: Loved it. It was so beautiful
Mary Ross: Beautiful campground. The sites are spaced out so each site has some privacy. The pit toilets were clean for pit toilet standards.
Peter Shaw: This is a fantastic campsite. The sites are tucked into the woods and private. It's a really intimate setting. Crooked lake is great for fishing and boating, and silver lake is within hiking distance of silver lake, which is great for swimming.
Dan Cassidy: Quiet rustic campground with mostly shaded and private sites.
Ben Chrispen: I've been coming to the Crooked lake/Silver lake parks for over 25 years. The park crew clearly takes pride in the place. The roads are in great condition, as well as the campsites. Everything feels spread out and not on top of each other. Tons of trails that are amazing for hiking and mountain bikes.
Mike Johnson: It was super quiet, and even though the lack of showers hurt me emotionally I was prepared for that. The dock is super nice for fishing, the boat launch is maintained really well. There are loads of other lakes and recreational areas locally if a quiet weekend of camping isn't for you. The vault toilets were very well taken care of and I think they got cleaned more than the bathrooms at some other camp grounds. We stayed in site 11 and it's huge big enough for 2 fairly large tents, an easy up, and all of the family chairs, with enough room to play corn hole still. The lake is a good little kayaking spot, but there isn't a beach for swimming, but a quick drive gets you to the silver lake area that has a huge beach and rec area.
Emily Rose Bennett: Love this campsite. Most of the sites are spacious, a few with tress close enough to hang a hammock. Kayak launch from campground.Plenty of hiking and swimming near by at Silver Lake, Pickerel Lake or Half Moon Day area.
Oliver Dettman: Nice and quiet except for the cranes, which sound awesome. Good sites with places to hang a hammock. Fire pits are giant cement rings that don't have any support for cooking over the fire.
Christina Adley: Very quiet and rustic
Mary: Love this campground! Rustic is in the name, so you should not be expecting a lot of facilities. There's 2 vault toilets with some hand sanitizer and that's it, but the toilets were kept clean, I saw someone cleaning it out in the morning. The view is beautiful and all the campsites are arranged along the lake. There's a dock to watch the sunset over the lake, which is positioned perfectly (I imagine people also use it for fishing lol). There's a hiking trailhead within walking distance to do the Crooked Lake loop or branch off to the Silver Lake loop as well.Overall, perfect spacious sites for tent campers and hikers. I saw people with smaller pull-behind campers as well, so it's doable, but I think these are more prime for tenting.
vid 1900: Nice, but no showers.Clean and well kept.
Seth Kleinglass: Great facility. Easy to get there. Friendly rangers.
Baine Neveu: Years of awesome memories ...silverlake is my go to campground when in the area to sit back and enjoy nature
Justin Byrd: Good rustic experince. Be careful of the campsite you get though some can be very close together.
Johnny O: Very nice rustic campground with very large and mostly private sites. There is a large fishing pier and a boat launch. Well pump is the only water source and there are vault toilets. There are hiking and bike trails all over the park and surrounding recreation area. Will definitely visit again.
Sean McAffry: Great campground. Sides all separated by trees. There is a water pump available here. As well as a boat launch and a fishing dock. It's $17 a night and there is also a $8 web fee. Will definitely be coming back here in the future.
Jessica: It was ok didn't catch anything but baby bluegills.
p greene: Nice campground, even though a snake likes the men's pit toilet. It's not venomous, lol. Nice lake the camp spots are nice.

Hilltop Nature Area: what do users think?
All Goods: Trails throughout the area but they are poorly marked. Just go out and have an adventure close to the city but with calm nature atmosphere.
Stefany Kulczycki: Nice trail with pretty views.
Paul Jefferies: Open plateau in the middle of the forest with Huron River, Barton Hills views. Nature information signs that are quite faded.

Bruin Lake Modern Campground: what do users think?
Kirill Mojeluk: Beautiful campsite.
Barie Fetter: I was at site 82, lots of trees, beautiful. The site is dirt on a hill so I had to use tire blocks. It's more sand than grass but couldn't really notice it because the leaves are falling. Very large site, nice fire pit and picnic table. Electric box is in the correct place but on the wrong side for my neighboring site. Showers are clean with hot water and great water pressure. Restrooms are clean. The lower lake area sites are concrete pads, look very nice but not as large. The office is closed for the season so you check in via your cell phone. No wood or ice because they aren't currently open. Beach, boat launch, fishing pier, sand volleyball court, playground areas, 2 shower/restrooms, open fields, dump and water fill Station, cabins, private tent sites, octagon ball area, kick ball area, grills allowed, pets welcome. No immediate trails in camping area, you need to walk a while to get to trails. This is my first visit, I will be coming again.
James Kelley: Nice quiet place to go and relax
Noah Roth: We stayed at one of the hike in sites (H8) and it was beautiful! It was perfectly tucked back in the woods up on a small hill away from all the other sites. We couldn’t see anyone else from where we were. It takes about 3 minutes to walk out to this site and it is the furthest one from the parking lot, so all of the others would take even less time. The showers and bathrooms were the best I’ve seen in a Michigan state park. The showers are individual rooms with plenty of spots to put your things like a bench, towel rack, and hooks. The water was hot and the room was really clean. The bathrooms are separate from the showers and were also very clean and well maintained. The sites in the regular campground area are really close together so be prepared to have neighbors nearby if you’re staying there. My only complaint was there were a few campers being incredibly loud until about 2 am. Not the parks fault obviously, but some noise enforcement would have been nice. The lake was perfect for a sunset kayak ride, and the overall vibe of the campground was good and maintained. The firewood was $6 for a bundle and it was nice, dry firewood. I’d stay here again, but only in one of the hike in tent sites.
Jennifer Martin: Nice lake for fishing and boating
Nicholas Daniels: Beautiful water connected to an awesome chain of lakes and water systems good for kayaking fishing and swimming the lake is easily viewed from campsites which were overall clean.
Marisa Azure: We have been camping here for years and really like it. However, it seemed like a lot of the sites were more dirt than grass. It was pretty muddy in spots. The kids love the lake with all the clay in it.
Joshua Klein: I mean it was nice nice atmosphere people were nice they just I don't know just wasn't a five star
Steve Betts: The sites were large...some are obviously newer than others. The older restroom facility needs to be updated. A great place if you want to bring your boat
Gautam Kabe: Very beautiful campground with lots of tree coverage. Sites are spacious and grass covered. We stayed at Site #71. The bathrooms are very clean. There is a Kayak / Canoe rental onsite at around $36. The campground has a grassy beach (no sand) and a fishing pier. There is a Yurt and a few Rustic sites as well. The reason i did not give a 5 star is because there is no Trail attached to the campground and we need to drive to reach the Pinckney trail systems, which are very beautiful indeed. The camp host informed that the Campground is surrounded by marshes and therefore trails were not possible. Overall a very good place to visit with family and friends
Mary Ross: Camped at one of the hike in sites, it had the perfect balance of seclusion and proximity to the bathroom facilities. Facilities themselves were well kept and even included a dishwashing station and showers. There was (not unexpectedly) a huge raccoon that came out every night to search the site, so make sure you secure all food and trash.
K “KK” K: Quiet, laid back campground. Lots of trees on lots to make for a shady, private experience. Except down by the lake where its mostly direct sun with immature trees on lots. Not much of a beach for swimming. They would benefit from bringing in some loads of sand. Nice boating. The pit toilets in upper campground never have TP
Dark Wolf: Beautiful campground, friendly DNR, great lake to have fun at
Frank Castle: Nice campground 👍
Kim Spohr: Playground: Yes Public restrooms: Yes Picnic tables: Yes Barbecue grills: NoMore
Ed Fry: Nice park. Site are vary spacious. Some set up a little backwards buy the lake.
Scott Aguirre: My son and I had a great time here. Our campsite had a view of the lake, was close to the water source and was between two bathroom/shower buildings. The newer bathroom building even had a dishwashing station outside. The campground had an activity area for kids with a big sandbox, a playground, a designated chalk art area, and a couple of tents with various boardgames to play.
Colt Payne: Nice campsites with clean bathrooms. Will definitely be back.
Noah Marvin: It's great there
Lorrany Caldas: i have been in the site 176# and i definitely loved! has a lot of space, the bathrooms are clean and the people camping over there was very respectful with timingthe only thing is that in the site says that our site has a view to the lake but i wouldn’t say that it is a view to the lake.i totally recommend
Pete B: The campsites are good sized and some have a great view of the lake. It's very peaceful out here.

Camp Woodbury on Nordman Lake: what do users think?
Paul Cassar: Absolutely beautiful!!
Adrian Blasko: Great space, beautiful scenery, awesome staff, couldn't have asked for a better place to spend a long weekend
Heidi Benson: Beautiful location, lovely venue.
Stanley Riley: Had our company Christmas party there. It was wonderful
Carrie Jones: Let me first start with WOW! The scenery is mind-blowingly beautiful in every season. My personal favorite are the fireflies at the beginning of summer - it truly is nature's own fireworks display. My family has been to Camp Woodbury many, many times. I still say cabin 4 is my favorite, however, all of the cabins have a unique quality that differentiates them from the next. The owners have made numerous updates to offer various levels of lodging while also maintaining some of the nostalgia from its beginning roots. From the original individual cabins that offer a full bathroom and small kitchen/kitchenette, to the overnight rooms that do not have a kitchen. Camp Woodbury offers a beautiful, quiet, serene place to sit back, relax and enjoy nature and get away from it all. You can also rent out the entire place for events. I'm truly amazed by the versatility of this property - and did I mention there's a private lake?
Thom Dumond: The host are so accommodating. Great setting for a wedding.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Tyler Even: Camp Woodbury made our wedding something special and to remember. The staff was incredibly courteous and helpful even going out of their way to help us when possible. The property is gorgeous, the lodges are in excellent shape. If you are looking for a slightly rustic, lakefront wedding, then this is the place to go!
Terri Publiski: Looking for party venueLocation: 5/5 …More
George McAtee: Our 10th year going there for MoCool event...from 1 pm to when we leave. Others stay all weekend in the lovely cabins. The lodge has a commercial kitchen and Chef Allen from Toronto prepared a full meal for 130 people..Excellent!The Owners are conscientious and the workers are fun, polite, and very helpful. The scenic 1/2 mile drive in arrives overlooking Nordman Lake. The mature oaks provide a comfortable canopy of cover yet sunshine and a breeze makes it very comfortable even in 90°.Private, safe, easy to get to. Not far from I-94. A beautiful property.
Felicia Souva: Please answer me on instagram!!!!!
