Rogel Cancer Center: what do users think?
Julie Cameron: Specifically writing review of Calista Harbaugh. She did everything for me to make me comfortable. All the staff has been extremely helpful to make sure I get the care I need with my anxiety. I had Anxiety visiting the Rogel Center because I’m not comfortable in large buildings. She scheduled my surgery at a smaller Hospital and I had the best experience possible for the circumstances. Thank you!!
Melissa Reitz: Everyone was great; my nurse, Katelyn McCormick was a ROCK STAR! She had the unenviable job of cutting my hair, giving me shots to my scalp and keeping me comfortable by chatting about our common love of our golden doodles!
Bill Kelly: This was probably the most unorganized medical office I have ever visited. The doc was knowledgeable and great bedside manner. The 1.5 hour wait and staff just appearing lost gave a bad vibe.
Nahed Hamm: My sister did her biopsy for a benign tumor in her leg and she felt very comfortable during the procedure. Dr. Janet Bierrmann, the orthopedic surgeon makes you feel good leaving the center and very well informs patients of everything they need to know above and beyond. Recommend this doctor to all
Yasaa Muzaffar: Treatment is Awesome but staff is so rude and valet
Taylor Fisk: Every single person I've encountered at Rogel has been amazing, from the schedulers and receptionists to the doctors and nurses. I came here after finding out about my melanoma recurrence summer 2021. I was living in central Illinois, and the doctors there would have literally let me die while waiting for scheduling - they just did not care at all. As soon as I even got on the phone with UM I knew I was in the right place. I was 6 months pregnant with stage III/IV melanoma, locoregionally advanced. My case was very complex, and they handled it like the pros they are. I just so happened to be moving to Michigan at the time, and I thank God every day that this series of coincidences brought me here.Rogel coordinated with Mott/the Women's hospital who got me in with high-risk OBs. Their expertise led us to decide to start treatment while I was pregnant and to induce labor 6 weeks early. I ended up having an emergency C-section, by which the doctors at Mott saved my baby's life. The doctors and nurses in the NICU then brought her to full health over the course of 2 months, and we now have a happy beautiful baby. The best thing about Michigan Medicine is how they're able to coordinate with specialists throughout the system for the absolute best care. At this point I've been to the Kellogg eye center, the cardiology center, and radiology (many times). Unlike all other cancer and radiology centers I have been to, I have NEVER waited excessively past my waiting time. This is so important because it shows they respect their patients as people with lives. At Moffitt, for example, I would often spend upwards of 4 hours waiting past my scheduled appointment times. I strongly believe that the lack of education about my diagnosis that I received at Moffitt directly contributed to the progression of my disease. I'm just glad to be in the right place now.Dr. Lao is caring, compassionate, and extremely knowledgeable about the most current and cutting edge treatments in the field. This is what keeps me feeling hope and feeling like I'm being properly cared for at Rogel -- I know he's aware of every option for me and we discuss them together. He and his team of nurses don't just care about killing my cancer - they care about my quality of life. They're ON TOP of managing my side effects and symptoms. I couldn't be more grateful for the care they've given me. Now I only hope we can kill this cancer for good.
Don Harvey: Let my wife die they wouldn't do any test like I asked him to do after she had her breast removed I asked Dr Myers to test pet scans stuff like he said they didn't need to do it well guess what they gave my wife a death sentence now thanks Dr Myers
MrBigtime1986 .bigtime1986: They fixed my cancer so they get 5 stars from me.
Russell Stambaugh: They conducted inductive chemotherapy which shrunk my tumors just enough for proton therapy elsewhere to kill my cancer. I got solid treatment that saved my life. I guess that's five stars. I went to MD Anderson for the radiation Rx.
Eric Coward: They care about each person they see
Lena Kasham: Great doctors and staff team! Thank you for all you guys do😀
Linda Compton: Great doctors and staff!
craig wood: After finding I had stage 4 lung and kidney cancer was sent to rogel cancer center dec 2018. After 2 years of treatments I am on the verge of recovery . Dr Alva set out to repair me and did. I owe him my life . !!!!!
keith yott: Fabulous staff excellent doctors I couldn't ask for no better👍💖
Robert Jenkins: The doctors, nurses, lab and staff people at the U of M Cancer Center are beyond the best. I ALWAYS had questions answered with care and diligence during a very difficult time. I had a bit of an advantage over many other patients because I always KNEW I would recover, but the team at U of M was an essential component of that success. Together, they brought me back from what could only be considered Stage IV. They may not advertise as much, but if this facility may be on your list of possibilities, don't think twice if you're facing a difficult health issue. They simply are the best.
Cassandra Kibble: I sought treatment at UofM for a second diagnosis of Triple Negative Breast Cancer. A previous BRCA test was negative with an extremely rare VUS. When I got there they (surgeons/ oncologist) told me that the variant had just been" identified" about 3 weeks prior making me BRCA 2 positive. Had unnecessary surgery/treatment because I found out afterward that the variant had never been identified. It was a lie!
Rene Selberg: Doctors and staff are wonderful here. However, they are extremely understaffed to the point where patients are suffering and endangered needlessly on a regular basis. Once a great cancer center but now a former shadow of itself. I wonder how long management clings to their old beliefs of the glory days, and how many preventable deaths it will take to get their head out of the ground. If you want to be part of the "preventable death" statistics, by all means leave your care with this poorly managed asylum. If you don't believe me, just ask them about their staffing levels over the last 5 years.
Gus Breymann: I have been under treatment, including surgeries, at Rogel for more than two years and am impressed by and grateful to clinical oncologists, surgeons and hospital staff.
April Smiley: They are doing some great cancer research.
Michael N: If for whatever reason you're trying to decide whether or not to get your cancer treatment at U of M by looking at these reviews, look no further. U of M staff never gave up on someone important to me despite incredible odds with stage IV cancer, and I truly believe their expertise (with luck and god, of course) is the only reason he's made it into remission. I can't think of a place I'd trust more with my life.
Walt Jend: Excellent staff and treatment plan.Other then not having the disease, I am very grateful to be a patient here and know I am getting the very best treatment available anywhere in America.
