Nan Richter: Katherine’s is the best caterer in Ann Arbor. They manage a big holiday party for me including food, tables, chairs, linens, serving and clean up. I actually have fun at my party! I highly recommend.

Ann Marie Mathews: I attended a dear friend's daughter's wedding last night at Lyon Oak's Banquet Center. I have experienced Katherine's Catering a number of times over the years, always receiving a 5-star experience. Last night was terrible.There was no visible supervisor or manager on duty overseeing flow of service, the venue or quality control. The bar was not staffed properly making service frustratingly slow and delaying the bridal entry and foodservice. The food servers, while friendly, were not properly trained and were painfully slow. The salads were limp, the rolls cold, chicken & beef were overcooked & luke warm at best. The ice cream was never served; left to melt in glass racks around the ball room. The wedding cake was cut up and placed on a table with no announcement from anyone that it was served...same with the pretzel station (also luke warm). The FOB's table was served last, 1.5 hours after the head table was served. Little Caesars pizzas appeared on their table. I am not sure if they ordered them themselves or if it was a botched pizza station that arrived before dinner service was even complete. The dinner dishes were left on tables far too long, so long that the family actually cleared their own tables. Bathrooms were not cleaned throughout the evening; running out of paper towels, toilet paper and trash overflowing.ALL OF THIS was not acceptable. A wedding is a once in a lifetime experience. Many years of thoughts and dreams from the wedding couple and their families go into the planning of this day. Weddings are made up of a thousand details, many of which were missed. I know how frustrated and disappointed the Mother-of-the-bride and many others were last night. There is no amount of money in a refund or an apology that can fix or compensate all of the wrongs that occurred that took away from this service and F&B experience. Katherine's Catering you are better than this.

They were very unprofessional.Our Experience,1) We have been following up with them for our upcoming event since 2 weeks. Initially they mentioned they will give us proposal in a week as they were so busy. which we never received and then we were told that they will give us proposal by today and still they didn't give us, but we got response that their system is under maintenance and they should be providing proposal by 2 pm. and at 2 pm they replied on email saying that they wont be able to provide proposal by end of today as well and unfortunately they will not take anymore business for June 2021.2) we considered that will get proposal and will sign it to finalize so we already started planning decorations and other needs but now we are screwed up by them when we are just left with 19 days from our event and we have to start from the scratch at other location.3) Initially provided prices were not honored, They gave one pricing at the beginning and also when we had tour of the place they gave contract which also had same pricing but now they say they changed pricing according to their planner but they don't have it documented anywhere that they can show us on paper. so unprofessional.4) they mentioned they are working on proposals for this and next weekend I don't know how with out any proposal they booked all weekends of June and stopped taking anymore business.I have never worked with any one of this unprofessional in my entire life.I would say Please put a second thought before waiting on them as they don't care about the excitement and importance of your event.

Stephanie TankLib: It was very frustrating to work with the wedding coordinator and not easy to get ahold of her. In Oct 2020 she had been very difficult to get in touch with regarding COVID and would not tell us what our options were for cancelling. Finally we got the okay to cancel with a full refund so we went with that and made other plans. We had to call back in December and speak with another person about getting that refund which she said we should again receive soon. We had to call back AGAIN in Jan and this time the boss of the first two employees said we would not get our full deposit back although we were already promised it by two employees. He said we would only get half if we chose to get money now. But if we waited until the day of the wedding and they couldn't perform we would get the full deposit back BUT if we waited and they could perform, they would charge us the full contract amount. However, they would probably somehow figure out a way to charge us rather than refund us due to the nature of them not honoring TWO of their employees actions. HEAVILY disappointed. Business crapping on the little man. Nickel and diming during a pandemic is not going to help a struggling business; but good service could help pull you out of trouble afterward.

I've ordered twice now and I will continue to pick-up from them as long as they're doing this. The menu is quite varied. The food is delicious and the portions are very generous for the price. We especially like the Hoisin Salmon and the Zucchini boats.

April Gago: We ordered the Memorial Day Feast, and have allergy issues in our family. They were very responsive and helpful regarding the food allergies. The scheduling was convenient for curbside pickup. The food was delicious, especially the fried chicken, pulled pork with brioche buns, corn muffins, and potato salad. The serving sizes were generous and we ate them for several days.Highly recommend for your next event.

Ryan C: We ordered off Zingerman's tailgate menu for the Michigan tailgate, and the food was nothing short of phenomenal. Several of us had heard of Zingerman's beforehand so our expectations were quite high, but their pulled chicken sandwiches (a nice spicy kick to them), sausages & peppers, wings, and potato salad were excellent. The brownies for dessert were also delicious.Highly recommended for any party, especially a tailgate - their delivery staff were very friendly and helpful, and even gave us a couple extra sternos.

amy cone: I highly recommend Food Art!!! Lauren basically saved me after the other caterer I had lined up for my mom’s memorial service backed out 2 weeks before the event. This was at a time when a lot of people were booking caterers and other vendors for weddings etc due to the recent loosening of Covid restrictions in Michigan, but Lauren at Food Art was kind enough to squeeze me into her schedule. She was completely professional and kind in all of her communications to me before the event, and responded to my messages within minutes (sometimes even seconds!). The morning of the event, her staff arrived early and set everything up efficiently and beautifully. Our event was a brunch, and all of our guests RAVED about how delicious the food was (melt-in-your-mouth smoked salmon, every kind of bagel you can imagine, decadent egg/cheese/sausage casserole, super lemony lemon poppy seed cake, French toast casserole, unique and delicious cookies, iced coffee and mimosas, plus so much more!) My family and I were also amazed at how there seemed to be so many catering staff members there, and they were incredibly attentive to cleaning up after everyone, but somehow they also managed to stay in the background and not be in the way at all. Overall Food Art went WAY above and beyond our expectations. I feel like there are 2 main caterers you think of when you live in Ann Arbor, and I’ve never used either one so I can’t comment on them, but there is absolutely no way they are better than Food Art. I HIGHLY recommend Food Art over anyone else for your Ann Arbor area catering needs!

Jamie was very attentive through out the whole process and was available for any questions/concerns I had. Not to mention the food was amazing as well! The food was absolutely delicious, sensitive to the affectionate nature of the event, and all the organizing they did was just right for a beautiful summer evening.The food was cooked to perfection, flavorful and not overly-pretentious. An excellent salad, grilled salmon, beef cooked perfectly, roasted fresh vegetables. Everything was yummy.A beautiful event.

Teymour El-Tahry: Had a Latin American themed meal at a wine tasting party last night. Chef crushed it.Honestly, six or seven things could have been my favorite. The Brazilian pot roast, the carnitas with candied jalapeños, the Argentine steak cuts, the Brazilian stew, and the paella were all insanely good.Can’t recommend chef enough.
