Liz Swaynie: I built my own computer during the pandemic, and recently have been having some random shut off issues with no clear reason. Chris spent hours upon hours of helping me with my computer -- running multiple tests on it to try to determine the issue causing the unexpected shutoffs-- and he took the time to think through every situation that could be causing my potential problem. He was determined to get it fixed for me, and I couldn't be more grateful. Chris is the only reason that I can use my computer again. Thank you!!!
Joanne Wagner: Great service! Friendly staff! I walked in with 3 antiquated laptops that I wanted to dispose of. I had no clue on how to remove my personal information. The staff removed the hard drives and destroyed them while I was there. Iasked how much for the service and they said no charge! I donated my lap top bags and walked away relieved! I appreciate the staffs kindness.

Mark Roberts: I'm bummed that I can only give this shop 5 stars; it deserves even more. I've used them several times now for various issues with different computers. Each time, they knew exactly what the problem was & how to fix it. And then they got the work done on time and on budget, every time. I used to always do my own repairs, but now I realize how much time I've wasted over the years. I could not recommend Computer Alley more highly for repair work.

Eric Quist: These guys are the greatest, they're not computer techs, they're more like magicians! While home on break, my daughter took her laptop in as it was running extremely slow, overnite they had it back to her running faster than the day she bought it! Yesterday they repaired an issue with my printer / tower and I was back in business by the end of the day. If you need something fixed, you go here! If I could give them more than 5 STARS I would. Quickly found the problem with my computer and then offered suggestions to improve the speed (which was not the reason I went in but was frustrating me greatly...molasses in January was quicker!) In a day it was fixed with speed upgrades( new digital hard drive and RAM) and for a very reasonable price! I don't believe my computer ever ran so well. Friendly and knowledgeable techs. I will come back in a hot second if I have any computer problems in the future(Sorry Computer Alley, but it would be great if I never need computer repair work again😁) This should be your go-to computer repair shop.
Jennifer Tankanow (Schleicher): I had didn’t have a complicated repair, but it was still a nuisance to me. To summarize my experience: easy, quick, and they helped clean up other area on my computer unrelated to the repair. I will definitely go back in the future for repairs and to buy computer or system related items. (Routers, drives, laptops, etc)
Brighton Betoit: My brand new PC was acting up, and it was really worrying me. Brought it in to these guys to see if they could diagnose the problem. They ran some tests that I would not have been able to do on my own and then... It just started working again? So yeah. They must be wizards.In all seriousness, I'm really glad I went to them. They've got the tools and patience needed to fully check out your computer for a very reasonable price. Customer service was on point; they really cared about my PC's well-being. They even asked me to check in once I got it home and tested it out.Patient. Trustworthy. Five stars.

Matthew Bonam: Techshop has been amazing. Always quick turnaround between ordering and delivery. Since working in Central 1 Neighborhood IT that supports Ruthven building, I have used Techshop as my primary ordering channel. Often, we have urgent needs such as onboardings submitted close to start date or just hardware that needs to be deployed quickly due to the position of the person needing the hardware. Techshop has been a vital aspect of meeting users’ needs in a timely manner. The delivery staff, members of the slack channel, and staff working at the central campus (Michigan Union) Techshop location have all be a pleasure to work with. Greg and Bob are the two go to delivery guys for the Ruthven Building and are always very friendly and kind in their interactions.
Karen Downing: The Tech Shop staff are sooooo helpful, patient, and knowledgeable! They helped me through some urgent problems with printing accounts quickly and with good humor throughout. I really appreciate their people-centered approach to fixing technology problems!

nivedah mitchell: try to be subtle with your racism next time. i went in to buy an apple pencil and was asked if i needed help which i said no (because i knew what i came for) your employee (male, brunette worked 3pm on saturdays) then proceeded to stand directly behind me, watching me and everything i picked up, making me very uncomfortable to the point i just ended up leaving. soooo if you want to be racially profiled and followed around, this is the place.

Ian Danaher: Don’t ask them to fix anything. My headphones broke and, as a student, I thought their job was to repair products on their certain list at little to no cost, so I dropped them off. Service was confusing and longer than it had to be, like their system didn’t register I had an appointment in the first place.Two weeks later, they want an $80 service fee for diagnosing that they can’t fix them like they claimed they could, essentially wanting payment for letting me know I need to buy new headphones. I told them they could keep them and they threatened me with an extra “eco-waste” fee. Incompetent, greedy, pretty perfectly representative of other student services at UMich, like paying for lockers at the gym.
who onfirst: Staff was rude and unhelpful. They showed no interest in helping me fix my problem. They were not busy but prompted me to make an appointment later in the day. When I asked if I could leave my product with them until they could fix it, they said they would charge me $80 (not for the service, just to leave my speaker there). The only good thing they did was to refer me to "Apples & Oranges" in Nickels Arcade once I decided they didn't deserve my business.

Victoria Frick: If I could give zero stars I would. DONT take your electronics here for repairs. Honestly, I would NEVER buy anything from this place ever again. My iPad was at computer showcase at the Shapiro library for weeks for a cracked screen. Staff was incompetent! Everyone was confused about how much it would cost to fix it. It was a mess. Please just go to the Apple store and buy AppleCare. Don’t waist your time with this place!

I waited two and a half months for a charging issue repair--during that time, they didn't fix the issue, and they broke components in my computer TWICE. Frequent delays with no updates. Employees Googling my computer's problems RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. It wasn't a bad decision to buy a computer here, but never get it serviced with Computer Showcase.

Roslyn Vern: My laptop keyboard got water damage and I took it here to get repaired. The employees had to send it to get repairs through Safeware, but it's been almost four weeks and I still haven't gotten it back. When I emailed to see if there was an estimate for when I would get my laptop back, I got no response. The employees mean well, but the service is so poor that I would take your computer somewhere else if you need repairs done.

They aren’t trying to scam you out of money or sell you things you don’t need. This company has integrity and cares about their customers.

Brian McGuire: At one point ages ago this place was good, but unfortunately has fallen by the wayside. Big red flag when you have to sign waivers and they don’t even have an answering machine…
Tom McLinden: Beware of doing business here. They are severely lacking in ability to support the systems they have created. The workarounds that they devise fail and they have no problem billing for services. If you are alooking for support for your business LOOK ELSEWARE. This business is failing.
Valerie Sponyoe: I took my MacBook in after it wouldn’t start up one day. I paid the $80 diagnostic fee and was told the flash drive had gone bad. But I was also told that there was no way they could recover any of the data. I suspected this wasn’t true so I declined the repair and picked the computer up. My boyfriend just saved everything off of the computer with directions from the internet. If someone with minimal computer experience could do this, I do not see why a professional Apple servicer could not. I regret having paid $80 but am very glad that I trusted my gut and didn’t allow them to do any repairs or they would have erased everything doing the repair when the data was easily saved.

Lucas Verran: Came in for a Mac power issue. Tried to charge me a $79 fee to run diagnostics after pushing a few buttons I had already tried. Then wouldn’t give me any price information beyond that. Then lied to me about how much doing diagnostics at the Genius Bar would cost. Save yourself the time and aggravation and head to Briarwood Apple store instead.

JC: If there were a 6th star they'd get it from us. I'm not sure where to begin to describe what a wonderful crew and place this is to do business with. In these days of impersonal, non-communicative "talk to us online only" service -- The Learning Center breaks that mold. First, they are extremely knowledgable and qualified in there field of computer repair, but more than that they are well meaning and sincere in their efforts to get the job done at the greatest value for their customers. They keep you informed of all progress, any issues, all your choices, and their best advise -- BY PHONE!!! Yeah, a company that actually calls you to keep you up to speed with the task at hand. The term "customer service" has become a bad joke -- an oxymoron in these times of computerized impersonal machines answering the phone and doing everything in its power to prevent you from actually communicating with a human being. Not here! You actually can ask for and talk to the tech working on your machine in real time. I can't recommend The Learning Center strong enough to anyone that still wants great, honest and expert service. All at a VERY fair price. 10 stars for The Learning Center, it's owner lorraine, customer service personnel including Tim and head technician/repair expert Michelle...and all others working at this privately owned and proudly run business.
Tamara Denby: If you want to overspend, go here.I brought my Mac laptop in for a battery replacement and was told the cost would be around $200. Since I knew the battery itself cost about $130, I felt this price was reasonable, and so I left it to be repaired. Five days later I received a phone call with the final cost. $350! Almost twice what I'd been told!The sales person had failed to mention the diagnostic fees and labor fees were not included in that estimate! If he had be honest, I would have gone elsewhere. Now, rather than losing my $80, plus having to pay additional fees to another shop, I'm forced to fork over the $$$ to get my computer fixed. I am furious!Do yourself a favor. If you need your Mac serviced and don't want to pay twice the price, go elsewhere!
