Necto: what do users think?
Natalie: I've known about this place about 10 years now and only just went recently. I think the age limit threw me off but this place is really so fun and I loved their pride Fridays with local girls and featured queens from Drag Race! I would've gone a long time ago if I had any idea it was so queer friendly!
Mahin MUA: really rude staff. especially the bartenders & security.
julie harbert: The house cast is outstanding, bartenders are fantastic and all the staff is really great. Always a great time and a fun crowd. Special guests have been phenomenal.
Alec Wimpari: Great security, kind staff at bars and front. Love coming here on Friday for the LGBT events. Will be back ASAP
DJ Seoul Detroit: This was my favorite club when I was attending EMU and living in Ann Arbor. I recently came back to check it out and stayed all night. The amount of bars they had made it so that I wasn't ever waiting to get a drink even though it was packed. Red Room is my favorite place in the whole bar.
Mike Duggan: Worst club in the area? Unlike a lot of bars, you can’t leave and come back I wanted to go grab my insulin pen from the car and the security guard told me that I had to pay Another $20 to reenter. I’ll never come here again.
Lionel Mufor: I worked with the team for 2 years organizing events with our school club. Polite, professional and involved. Great experience with the staff and the club itself is very spacious and has a soothing atmosphere, good music and soft lights. Great spot
Cody Pinchot: Best goth night in the Detroit area outside of City Club!
Scott Mundo: If you're looking for where the people are on Friday nights, look no further then Necto. Pride Fridays are always buzzing with people on the upstairs and downstairs dance floors. Yes, I did say two dance floors! I've been going to Necto since last May and it's always been clean and the staff have always been so friendly! One time there were some guys that were following my girl friends and making them feel uncomfortable. I told a staff member and the situation was quickly handled. Necto is definitely a safe and inclusive place. My favorite place to be though is downstairs in the 'Red Room'. DigiMark, the DJ for the Red Room is always playing banger after banger that me and my friends love to dance to. I've also been blown away by how many events Necto has on Fridays! It feels like they're always bringing in special guests, having themed nights, and having lots of drag shows.Though there are things they can improve on, like providing water at a lower cost or for free. My friends and I always learned to drink a water bottle before coming in and we haven't really had any issues with thirst. It was just a little annoying the first time we came and had to find out the hard way. Other than that, if you haven't already. Check Necto out! Or if you have gone to Necto and it wasn't your vibe, try going on pride Fridays! Because it does make a difference. Anyways, Enjoy this picture of me and my bestie with DigiMark in the Red Room having the time of our lives!
Tosh Mckie: Necto is a really nice club and Friday nights always leave me feeling seen, appreciated, and safe, but music could be TEN times better and maybe switch up the DJs? Instead of the same DJ playing the same old boring songs from fifteen years ago. So many new queer artists who make DANCE music for DANCE clubs. I only go to necto for pride Fridays, but lately it’s lost the flare I like. Also the bartenders are always really great, bouncers and security is full of hot guys too♥️
Akbar Arsiwala: I had the pleasure of working with Nick and Scot to host a fundraiser for a mental health nonprofit. Not only were they accommodating, they provided the venue at cost so we could maximize our donation. On the day of the event, I had nothing but positive experiences with every staff member I met. We ended up exceeding our fundraising goal and got a lot of positive feedback from attendees.Overall, Necto is under incredible management and we'll definitely be back to host other events.
Fabian Gonzalo Barrero Florez: I was disrespected several times in this bar last night, I was drinking my beer quietly and I went to ask a worker where the bathroom was? At that moment he called another and took my bracelet without reason, so I decided to continue having some beers again these two characters arrived with more staff members as if I were a criminal without having done anything and they took me out without leaving me finishing my beers despite having paid for them. The worst bar I've been to in my life and where I was humiliated for no reason
Aisley Ellis: I was in Ann Arbour visiting for a weekend and went to Necto. I was glad that as someone under 21 could go in ( with cover and wrist band) and still enjoy the night life. The photographer Reno was AMAZING and captured the best pictures of us before the drag performance ( which was AMAZING). Most people gravitated to the outdoor area which left the dance floor bare and less energetic. it was hard to join people outside as the hallway leading outside was full and trickled with vomit. I also was very surprised and disappointed that cups of water were not free. Especially with the obvious amounts of under influenced guests, not providing water highly turned me off.
Nemo Bean: Your going to be sad when you don't have access to any food well you are here, not even a bag of chips. You want a bottle of water? That's $4 sir. Then the staff will continually walk by and stare into your soul for no reason other than intimidation. The dj's play the worst music. They also started basically strip searching every person walking into the door now so get ready to spread em! What an uninviting environment.
Omar Elsahn: Best club I have been to.
Alexandria Drwal: the music prior to midnight was pretty good. idk what happened after midnight because it turned into 2012 type music and the people there were kinda rude(patrons not staff). maybe just the area but it wasn’t a completely terrible experience i just personally wouldn’t come back. 2 drinks were $40 also
Xyborder: I love this place
Jenn T (Jennthomas06): Factory Monday nights are amazing! Fewer people than the weekend crowd, great music and dj's- alternative, edm, and more.
Sofia Nava: I always have the best time with my friends! Last time I went I lost my ID and was able to get it back the next day. They are super attentive and friendly
Heather Beadles: It's been almost 15 years since a Factory night for us, so we weren't sure what to expect...But oh dear, such lovely beats to stomp to and such wonderful floors on which to stomp upon; we were not disappointed. 😊🖤
Joseph Ferullo: I will never be back to this “establishment”and I’m going to make sure everyone I know is aware of what actually goes on at “Necto”especially after reading one specific review before leaving this review! It sure seems like that one of your male bouncers has a problem staying out of the WOMENS restroom, I had a friend go last night and while using the restroom, she saw a male “employee” peeking thru the restroom stalls! This really goes to show that you do not take any complaint’s serious if this is still happening, and all the other stuff that isn’t properly resolved in the end that you keep on getting bad reviews for lol!

Club Above: what do users think?
Will Boring: I had a lot of fun! I kinda thought the floor was gonna cave in, u should take a look at that
TATTOo JOhnEy: They need to step it up skeeps is killin em it is free ti get in tho
Jack rabbit: Is this bob segers old stomping ground...his famous song main Street ,he says in his greatest hits album ,he wrote main st. about a bar strip club on ann st close to main st. In ann arbor
Anaik Merc: Dj canny pone muy buena música. Me encantó las veces q fuí pq puso de todo. Bachata, salsa, cumbia, merengue, reggaeton.. Un DJ así vale la pena pq uno no te aburres
Realtalk 4eva: I like the bartender here. The cover sometimes is 10.00, not worth 10 to get in and they only play latin music, which is good, but most times it's old music, not young latin music. The 2 times I tried to like the dance music, I found no dancing music. I don't find it to be the friendliest bar, in terms of clientele, and and then the music is off, as well, so the best you can hope for is to have your many friends go with you. Not for dancing to music in English, nor, any type of music from, 'Regard, Soffi Tucker, or any type of EDM; strictly latin music. However, it seems like a great place to dance salsa.
Fernando Davidez: Beware if you’re tipsy or drunk, they add tip by default and receipt calls for additional tip, this ain’t Manhattan. Nice bartenders and guy at door but poor way of doing business, otherwise a solid 3 start.
Mo Mo: Freee bad
Estefani J Mejia: In this place they play reggae music, ????I'm looking for a place to dance reggae???
Leah A: Honestly the drinks smell/taste like the sanitizer they sanitize they cups in,,,, but when the right people throw an event here, it’s lit. Bathrooms aren’t bad. Service not horrible. I come back.
Sam Roman: Perfect vibe for a private party. I came in for a Greek event and the service is great.
John Adams: Liven nice , have fun if u cant run im alive
Pierre Horgrow: Cool, lively environment. Fun people.
Matthew Connors: Pickles are the BOMB!!!
Jeff L: Awesome place for local music. It is becoming quite popular.
Alexis Street: Nice space, great service. No air/fans so suuuuper hot in warm months, bathrooms are very very tiny, and food and drinks are seriously expensive. Good peeps behind the bar take the edge off of the cons and thus the 4 star rating (couldn't give a 3.5).
Jesse Katch: Solid dancing, nothing amazing but good music choice for an arbor club
Loralye Johnson: The NYE event was a blast!!!!!!
Holly Cavanaugh: Great vibe, music you can talk over without having to scream! Staff took such good care of me and my friends. Support your local artists and visit Club Above!
Ray Williams: I typically don't go to Ann Arbor because of the student population, but this club has a different atmosphere where people don't look down on each other and is there to have fun!The bar has cheap drinks, great sound system and light show! Highly recommend.
Max Marl: Great atmosphere and killer new artists and music to see
Keegan Martin: Good drink specials and draught options. Great spot for local or traveling music talent and a fun night out.

LIVE: what do users think?
Sean Oppermann: Some friends invited me out here for the first time. I couldn't find anywhere to put my coat, so I asked if I could leave it on top of one of the booths along with all the other coats. When I came to grab it at the end of the night, my friends waited while I sifted through piles of coats to eventually realize that mine had been stolen. This was a branded coat I was given as a gift from a long time friend. A simple Carhartt winter coat, but it meant a lot to me and I just got it. When I came back to ask about the coat and see if it had turned up, I saw that there was a coat check sign printed on computer paper near the entrance. I'm not sure if that was there the first time, but it was an additional charge on top of the cover. So if it's a cold night and you don't want to wear a coat on the dance floor, be prepared to get either stolen from or ripped off.
Ma FeelMe (ANGELINA): Stay hip
Eric VanDeventer: This place is great! Mike at the door is super friendly and nice. I also miss the girl who did cover and always wore a mask, I hope she comes back.
Terry Garza: Love the Geezer Happy Hour. Definitely will be back.
Christian Dean: A man with a goose that shot fire almost burned my face off but for $5 it was worth it.
Pinkey Lam: I absolutely love LIVE Ann Arbor so much! The music is great, the DJ definitely knows what he's doing. Mike, the bouncer is one of the nicest and best people there. He always greets us with the best smile and is super friendly. Live would not be the same without him. I also love the coat check lady. She works so hard and even checked up on me in the bathroom. My friends and I all love this place
mike ebbert: Exceptional bar staff, and vibe. One of the best bars in Ann arbor.
Marilynn Thomas: Geezer happy hour! Great music. Saw so many of my friends there.
Jacob Mayer: Screw this place. Go somewhere else.
Andreas: Nice Club, gets crowded at around 11 pm ish
Brandy Muzzy: Woulda been a little better if the bouncer in the orange wasn’t letting random people cut the line because they were friends. Literally watched him let in SEVEN PEOPLE after they asked if he could make an exception bc they were buddies. Like?? Naur.Atmosphere was fun, all other workers were fun besides him. Great music and really clean bathrooms ??? Actually shocked to have clean bathrooms in a club! It’s nice to see security walking around too. Great bartender.
Alexandra Touchstone: Best bar in Ann Arbor
Noah Walker: The music selection needs a major upgrade. I get bored easily when it’s only top 40 music playing that’s not even that good.
Troy D: Went here with some friends for the first time. Super rude bartender named Hannah begged for tips and was just really rude to me for no reason. She also seemed drunk behind the bar. Won’t be going back bc of her.
Natalie GRUBBS: Just had bottle service with VIP booth for a birthday party. Wow!!!! Mike made it easy and very helpful to book. I requested a few things and he made it all happen. Club was packed which I was concerned with faster horses, art fair fair, and no classes because it’s summer at U of M. Had a blast. I highly recommend having your next party here!!!!!
Rayna Longo: I got two lemon drop shots and it was $29. WHAT THE HECK! COMPLETE RIP OFF
Chiren Moore: It seems they haven’t dusted the ceilings in years. This is all falling in your drinks. In addition, I asked the bartender for an old fashioned, and she was rude, saying “we don’t really do old fashioneds.” It’s the oldest drink in America. What are all the bottles for, then? They make their money off of Gin and tonics, vodka sodas, and beer. I wouldn’t call this place a “bar” and I would steer clear.
Josh Colina: I keep forgetting my card here 😐
Julian Tabron: Better than ricks and Necto tbh
Andrew Hulett: This place used to be decent, but the DJing is out of control... and not in a good way. The DJ plays the same outdated tracks every Saturday and refuses to let any actual beat drop.. instead turning it into some bizarre house mix. It's not 2008 anymore.
Paolo Mutia: Medusa is a great DJ hands down

Study Hall Lounge: what do users think?
Kelsey Lynn: Great bartenders & always a fun time!
Joanna Barbero: Wow what a place. 10/5 stars, beautiful atmosphere, amazing in every way. Would recommend enthusiastically
Gustavo Salazar: This place is awesome. Great bottle service and great service.
Checkered Flag Interactive Media: Disgusting atmosphere of people that come here. I will leave it at that.
Keaton Burnett: Awful service! The bouncers can't do their jobs. More worried about kicking people out trying to stop a fight while they watch two girls fight on the dance floor. Letting random girls break peoples stuff and then don't even kick them out!
Brian Grewe: Atmosphere and decorations are ok, music is really REALLY subpar
Graeme W: Not great
Elliott Barney: Great bar to drink and dance in.
K I: Great bar
Ji-sun Shin: It was a nice venue to party: it's "downstairs", which helps the place be super spacious. I was pretty impressed with the place. Good atmosphere, good design. My only complaint would have been the dj. He didn't play music I liked, and played a lot of old songs.

Rick's American Cafe: what do users think?
Mitchell Davidson: Let's be real: it's a college bar. The music is usually pretty solid and the drink motto is quantity over quality. If you're coming here for high quality drinks, I would recommend you go across the street to Gar Bar. I've been coming here for over a year and it's a fantastic bar if you're a senior/junior U-M student. The only gripe I have is the length of the Rick's line. Supply does not match demand. If Rick's could more effectively monitor and convey information about the line, they would make a huge profit and save students time. Longest I have waited in line is just over two hours. If you want to make sure you get in on a Thursday, I would recommend showing up at 7:00pm. Especially late in the school year.
Mutaz Faqqouseh: best bar in aa, not even a contest
Anavir Shermon: Decent coffee.
Kortney Powell: Good place if you want to get intoxicated fast. Not worth the price! Young bar tenders don't know how to mix their drinks.
Sean Atwell: Good place if you wanna get drunk fast
Tanya Tavolacci: Ran a 50.00 tip on a $6 drink. The dollar sign with a line that wasnt totally through it because pen went out they ran as a 5 with 0 next to it. Taking advantage of college kids.
Michael Schultz: Best bar I’ve ever been to
Joshua Riley: DJ was absolute garbage, was wondering how he got a hold of my middle school iPod
Laron L Bean: Great food friendly atmosphere too tasty good
Julian Tabron: Honestly one of the best places to get COVID-19.
Ryan Shanahan: Rude staffs and pretty sketchy. You would honestly expect better prices for how dirty the place is.
Mo Mo: Freeee bad
Jose Mannis: Their staff are really rude.
Erica G: Doesn’t accept out of state IDs. I had friends traveling from Pennsylvania and they immediately denied us.
Benjamin Carney: Fantastic caesar salad 10/10
Alec: pickle rick was better
Andrew Harrington: Best bar in the city. Bring your dancing shoes and prepare to be hungover. Pants are optional.
Celeste: Bad customer service.
Rose Brant: The bouncers are have no customer service experience v sad go to live instead!
Conner Coan: Go blue baby
Nua Eljezovic: Fun place, but lines too long and it feels as if they slow it down to make it look busier.

Zal Gaz Grotto Club: what do users think?
Donald Wilson: The best take out tacos
Karen Crist: This club is ok. I know a lot of bands that play there.
Olivier Eaton: Very nice club and people!!!❤️❤️❤️
Andy B: It's a private club that has been newly renovated inside. If you belong it has good food and very cheap drinks. They have live music regularly that anyone can go see, regardless of whether you're a member or not. You do need to buy a guest pass in order to buy alcohol, but it's only $5 for the year, so the barrier isn't very high. They have turned the kitchen over to an outside vendor, Cosa Sabrosa, which I believe is Mexican food and gets good reviews. When the kitchen is open they are apparently very good. When the kitchen is closed they permit you to bring in food from outside. The building is vintage '50s and it has a very do-it-yourself vibe on the inside. I'm pretty sure the chairs in the bar came from a private airport terminal. The bathrooms remind me of what your grandparents would have built in their cabin up north. It's a no-frills kind of place, but lacks nothing. It's operated by it's members and the atmosphere is very welcoming and down to earth. Like other Grottos, it's owned by the local Freemasons.
Wes Tapp: Great place with super fellowship.
Cary Kocher: Great jazz room, but FOOD is complicated at Zal Gaz Grotto. Their kitchen is leased to a chef who preps the Casa Sabrosa food truck and serves carryout on seemingly random nights, so you have to call the Zal if you desire his fine Mex street food. The Zal has a last-Wednesday spagetti dinner every month, worth the ten bucks. But on other nights, you either carry in, order in, or go with chips. So call ahead if you are working dinner into the evening.
Avram Liebowitz: Cool place!
Viviane Shammas: Great live music in a friendly setting with easy on site parking.
Leslie Ferguson: Great place for any event.
Robert Shepard: Where can you get great big band music $10 cover and decent priced drinks? Zal Graz Grotto Club, that is where!
Venus “Venie” Heard: I had an absolute great 👍 time ⏲️
Lisa Cruz: Very nice. First time for me. Lots of friendly nice people and good music 🎶
Venus Vegas: This was a great club 💙 👏 👍 👌
Tammy Talvitie: The Paul Keller Orchestra invited my kid's Middle School Jazz Band to watch and play with them. It was an incredible experience! The musicians were so generous, and the kids learned so much. My son and I are definitely going back to see PKO on Monday nights!
Sam Gurwin: I attended a Extrusions Concert (awesome band) here- it was a great Club. There is a Bar area and an attached Concert area. Food is ordered via a private restaurant nearby and they deliver fast. Plenty of tables to eat and talk with friends- also a dance floor at the front of the Concert area. Nice Staff and Patrons!
John Seldin: Fantastic venue for live music! Don't miss Double Take, either.
Will Jaynes: Great place for live music. Best jazz club in town. Plus lots of other kinds of music.
Michael Burns: Fun venue with live music on the weekend and a wide Mexican food menu available from Cosa Sabrosa. Affordable drinks but you will have to become a social member - $5 for a year
Ronald Richards: Very cool place. Nice people
Doug Gordon: Fun
Marilynn Thomas: Music! Outdoors during lockdown. Hopefully indoors soon.
