Timothy Pollard: Mr. Reed is “no nonsense,” but his candor unfortunately mixes with his own personal bias in a rush to judgment. He was ineffective as our parenting coordinator. He witnessed the unhealthy behaviors between my ex-wife and our oldest child and specifically mentioned it to me (with plenty of profanity) on two separate occasions. Sadly, he refused to act, not even mentioning what he saw in his written recommendations. He was also alerted to impropriety in child care expenses and again refused to act, instead suggesting I be held in contempt for refusing to pay the fraudulent amounts. He quit before I could have him removed.High conflict cases do not necessarily involve two equally combative participants.

Amanda Marie: I was represented for an evidentiary hearing in a very high conflict situation. My situation is a very unique one, however I did not feel properly represented. In my case, none of my evidence was used that I had sent early on after hiring them. I then was told during a face to face visit that the date might be changed, I got a new date for a different hearing thinking it was the same one, and missed the date to submit the rest of my evidence, no one reached out to double check or to even let me know what was being submitted during that time. he also had said he was going to submit messages for evidence and he never did. My opposing counsel submitted their evidence later than I was told was the deadline. It was explained to me before the hearing I would be able to settle, I had given them an idea of what I was looking for and never responded with a counter offer. But at the hearing we ended up settling. I did get what I wanted for the parenting time but I also got set up with ridiculous communication requirements such as responding to messages within 5 hours. So now 3 hours after court I am stuck having back and forth conversations about nothing with my high conflict co-parent with no end in sight. In a situation of harassment and abuse I feel I could have been vouched for much more. The accusations against me were completely false but I still had to pay for them In our agreement in order to get the parenting schedule I felt was safe for the child. And after court, I received no follow up information in writing to reference so I could sign up for the parenting class, and to ask for that information afterward apparently costs me money which has not been my experience with any other attorney in the past.

Steve Koch: Over the past few years, I have worked with many family law attorneys and John is far and away the best. My case with him was uniquely difficult, because I live out of state and there was a tight deadline for filing a reconsideration motion. I called many attorneys in Ann Arbor, and those who called me back highly recommended John. He called me back right away and spent a considerable amount of time understanding my case. He was upfront about the fees (which were very reasonable) and worked very quickly with me to prepare the motion. She didn’t listen and/or understand the importance of consistency in the lives of children. Promoted an unprofessional environment with all the lawyers laughing and joking with each which was extremely tone deaf given the situation, not to mention a waste of my time and money. Don’t listen to other area lawyers promoting her. Just try to work things out yourselves and save your money.BTW- I wrote this negative review and not a day later she all of a sudden had twice as many reviews from friends and cherry picked former clients. Obnoxious
