After several years of good experiences, mostly just winterization of my small boat and outboard motor, I can no longer recommend this establishment. 25HP outboard winterized last season, this spring ran rough first time out. After consultation with Mutiny, it was recommended the spark plugs be changed. I attempted this myself (my mistake) and managed to cross thread two of them. Took it to Munity to get it done right. After several weeks (not the issue) was told they were irreparable. Needed a new head and gasket, new spark plugs, estimate $2,200. That was not in my budget so I asked if they would make me an offer for the motor as is, maybe I would downsize and find a cheaper way. This is a 2012 Mercury 25HP, Four Stroke EFI, tiller. They offered $500, which is insulting. Still not the issue. They say if you do a good job, you'll tell three people, if you do a bad job you'll tell 10. On the 2nd person, they said "why don't you just put in a heli-coil?" Enlisted a neighbor with better hand-eye coordination and fixed both spark plugs for less than $10. Insult to injury, didn't even need the heli-coil, just needed to re-tap the threads with the correct size tap and replace one of the spark plugs. I ran it several times this summer, it purrs like a kitten. Very disappointed with Mutiny Marine and bummed that I have to punish myself by driving all the way to Brighton to buy overpriced items at Wilson and winterize it myself this year.Edit in response. I appreciate that you have taken the time to respond, as a result I have added one star. Can't do more than that though, because your response is lacking. You did not clearly communicate that your hands were tied as to the repair options available. We went directly to needing a new head without any other solutions presented. I did not have to drill anything, I did not have to install a heli-coil. All I did was run a tap and clean up the threads. As I stated, the offer of $500 was not the issue, I get that you are not in the business of selling used motors without warranty. "Hours researching parts and options"? Maybe. Not really my issue either. My issue was communication. I assumed that you guys tried to fix it before jumping to a new head. I assumed that a simple repair wasn't enough. Since all it took was a simple repair, I am left believing that you either didn't try that or didn't want to. I spent half the summer with my boat in the garage wondering if I could get anything for it, wondering if there was another way to repair it. That was because I believed your diagnosis. Glad to have neighbors who know more than I do. If anyone bothers to read to the end of this review the take away should be "ask questions". Don't assume the option presented is the only one. Give Mutiny Marine a try. They worked well for me for a while. Just be ready to get a second opinion if something seems off. Best wishes.

But 2 summers ago took a jetski there for repairs, not only did they have a long wait time and terrible customer support to let us know when they'd get to work on it. They winterized it and never started till the next summer. After countless calls they insited it would get done and the day I go to pick it up after several calls, I throw it in the water and bam same problem, charged upwards of $1k for the work alone and the thing never ran right. Took it to C&C sports in brighton and said they'd have a parts delay but kept good customer communication and had it done before summer ended running better than the day we bought it. C&C said there was multiple parts installed wrong and even a wrong part installed into the jet drive unit along with pieces still damaged that should have been part of the repair. C&C charged an equal price and even with their delays still had the jet ski up and running quicker and better. Theres no comparison, save your time and money and skip this place.

Nathaniel Stead: Had these guys work on a outboard twice so far. Last year they rebuilt my lower end...got the boat in faster than any other place in the area....very happy with the work. This year I took it back because I had a little stutter with the engine....the problem took a bit to figure out but I felt like I was kept in the loop the entire time. They did not try to over sell me on things they had to try during the diagnostic tests. In fact I felt I should've paid them more for going above and beyond but they wouldn't except it. If I had to explain it best I would say that I have serious trust issues with allowing people to work on my things but I have zero concerns about letting mutiny marine service my boat and will continue to use them as long as I own a boat.....highly recommend, stop looking for a marine mechanic and give these guys a call!!!

Chris Newport MI: Horrible customer service, and inferior products. Purchased a lift only a couple of years ago, and it failed this year. Called to talk to Brandon (owner's son) and he said it was our fault. They knew the exact specifications of our boat when we purchased the lift, and the lift is actually rated for higher capacity than the boat. No reason at all for this lift to fail, other than being structurally weak. Brandon is incredibly rude and extremely arrogant. Worst purchase decision we've made, by far. I would not recommend purchasing anything from Diversified Dock and Lifts. I would rate them 0 stars if Google would let me.

Tom Toro: I needed a sea wall badly and I was given this company’s number by a good friend. I had a lot of special requirements. Waters edge said they could handle anything I could throw at them. They didn’t lie. I was amazed at what we watched.1. The crew each had a full skill set including front loader, barge captain and welding experts. They were personable, ON TIME, respectful of my property and maybe the hardest working team I’ve seen.2. The process was really something to watch. From the giant barge bringing the supplies and front loader to the relatively quiet driving of the tall steel panels to the expert welding beads along the cap, it was a perfect system. They used my friend’s driveway barely and gifted him with a new, graded driveway with high end decorative gravel for their trouble. First Class!3. Initially I thought it was pretty pricey, but when they were finished, I really thought I got the best end of this deal. A bargain for the work put in. This company did so many extras and were so focused on detail, that we’re more than satisfied. My property looks better than when they started. They graded the backfill so smoothly, I don’t need a landscaper to fix anything, including raking and seeding. That saved me good money.4. Communication was perfect as well. I was given phone access to the foreman, front office and crew. They were extremely reactive to any inquiry I had. From the sale to the execution, I was well informed and there were no surprises. The price didn’t go up a penny.In a time when companies are so busy and unresponsive, Water’s Edge shines above the rest. I’ll put my reputation on the line and recommend them with full confidence. Jim Gates: I hired water's edge to replace an old wood sea wall. The project was way behind schedule. They didn't have the materials they quoted me for (seawall ended up different from the project plans). The work was sloppy at best (about a foot off level from one side to the other). And they overcharged (50 feet of stone for 35 feet of seawall, "stairs" that were just offset stone, etc). After some haggeling I got the price down a bit but for what I paid for I was extremely disappointed in the product.

Andrew was extremely knowledgeable and provided excellent advise. Within a day we had multiple quotes per our request for purchase comparisons. We went back and forth with some of our decisions and Andrew replied extremely fast. We were able to make a decision on our Lift, Dock, Jet Ski ramp along with our installation date and move forward....it was that easy! No messing around. Exceptional customer service and everything that Andrew indicated that he was going to do- he did! The best team ever came out and worked to get everything completed in one day. We have a very mucky bottom so we had some challenges. The team never gave up and were very persistent in completing the job. We let the Lift settle slightly and they came back out a few days later to make some final adjustments. They still couldn't get it to set right, so they brought their machines back out, lifted the Lift back up, built the platform that they needed to make it right! Beautiful!! Products are top notch! I have never written a review before as I typically enjoy doing the work myself and quite frankly have a difficult time trusting someone will do as caring and precise job as I would.They took the time to communicate with me and make sure they explained what the process for install would be before and even during if there was any question.Perfectly straight, leveled to satisfaction and cleaned up thoroughly after completion. Very precise and carefully thought out. Not an easy task when going through tree roots and over a span of 340 feet.It is often difficult to judge craftsman’s ship and customer service until you are in the middle of a project. Craftsmanship 5 out 5, customer service 5 out of 5.Highly recommend for any job large or small.
