Lisa S.: Dr. Hughes is truly the best physician I've ever had. I began seeing her in 2017 after I moved to Ann Arbor. (I've been meaning to write this review for a while.)She's helped me in so many ways, especially with getting my thyroid labs and other biomarkers in their optimal ranges. I also have seen Dr. Hughes for some wonderfully helpful acupuncture sessions, prior to the pandemic.I feel the best I've felt on all levels (in over a decade) and as of this writing, I'm 50 years old. My supplements are spot on for me finally. I also have been able to return to my athletic journey as a runner and am doing very well.I've also resolved some long-standing gut issues with Dr. Hughes' help, ones that I had seen at least 3-4 other practitioners to try to resolve. I especially appreciate her "test, not guess" approach to troubleshooting health issues, which isn't always employed effectively in the integrative medical field.Dr. Hughes is a very skilled clinician, combining this with her amazing intuition, warmth, compassion, and empathy when you work with her. This is truly rare to find! She's the type of physician who LISTENS to you. She and her staff provide amazing service and treat you like family.I feel so blessed to be a patient of Dr. Hughes.' I always look forward to my appointments with her, since they are always so enlightening and helpful. Some of us want to be "optimally healthy," not just "healthy," as defined by traditional medicine. Dr. Hughes is the best ally I've ever had in achieving my goals for optimal health. A F: Dr. Hughes diagnosed a rare and unexpected problem that conventional medicine didn't even know to look for. I would have been suffering indefinitely if it weren't for Dr. Hughes. She had me do a lab test that conventional docs don't do, and my insurance did not cover it because its outside the conventional world. This microbiology test discovered a very bad bacteria that was the cause of my mysterious health problems that previous treatments had not been very effective against. Even a conventional specialist did not help at all, and just ran up my medical bills. But Dr. Hughes found the issue, treated it accordingly, and now I'm feeling 90% better, and on the road to a full recovery. Dr. Hughes is professional and very good at what she does. I'm beyond grateful.

When I first met with her, I told her that I have had Hashimoto's thyroiditis for a long time but it was not being properly managed by a non-holistic medicine doctor. Dr. Hughes did a blood workup on me and we found it was my thyroid. A little bit of thyroid med and my blood pressure was under control. She also recommended work style changes - take breaks, walk around, deep breathing.. all very common sense stuff!! Much more energy and life is good :-)! My family is seeing her also and addressing their issues to achieve optimum health.

Victor Munoz: I have been a patient of this family care clinic for over 20 years. Throughout those years I have seen several doctors, all of whom have been very professional and caring. The last few years I have seen Doctor Edelman and Mark Meister both are great and I would highly recommend them. I would definitely recommend Sandy the nurse who does the blood draws, she is the best. Unfortunately I just had an unpleasant phone conversation with one of the office staff. I called to very nicely complain about a mistake they had made with my prescription (NOTHING CRITICAL, but still a mistake, which I personal;ly had to solve. The person I spoke with was rude, told me not to complain to her, that she doesn't have anything to do with that and to call the manager, I very nicely said that I had solved the problem and that i did not need to talk to anyone else; she again with an angry tone told me to call the manager with my complaint.

Alex Hood: I wish I could give this 5 stars for Peter, the doctor I've seen several times, he goes above and beyond for his patients and is definitely a physician i would recommend. The women behind the phones are certainly a force to be reckoned with though. I prefer not to name people directly with a negative review since instances like this are typically fueled by emotion but I will say that the billing supervisor is harsh, rude and uncaring. I do not enjoy being interrupted and slammed on hold during any phone call to a company I am paying for services to. I believe that everyone gets a free pass for a bad day but I have talked to this woman more than once and every interaction we have is super aggressive and unpleasant. I have tried to make a complaint a few times but she refuses to provide her name and her coworkers will not provide it either, thankfully a nurse helped me and apologized profusely for her behavior and according to her, this woman is horrid to many people besides me. I have made a formal complaint through my insurance but I felt it necessary to let people know that if they deal with her, they aren't alone and I am willing to help anyone make a complaint as well. I mostly hope that someone in charge reads this and attempts to keep their employees in line. I am allowed to ask questions politely without getting attacked and being treated poorly since I apparently was disturbing their job by calling the office for the pricing details of my last visit. rant over.

Peetweet1: These crooks charged my Mother for a sequence of appointments that were never officially confirmed in anyway. They ultimately provided no actual services whatsoever. Then they sued her in court for said appointments and won by default because she had to work and had she appeared and still lost, since she had to deal with a lawyer despite the summons saying no lawyers, would’ve lost a day’s pay on top of the rest of the costs which were over $400. They even had a document with a forged signature since she never signed anything at any point to help their case. I’m also pretty sure I’ll get a legal notice for this review but I’ll see them in court with my own lawyer.

jesse kranyak: Dr Jeff is the best alternative to traditional insurance in the state of Michigan… even if you have insurance and he’s still the better choice! He’s great for employer health care alternatives as well

I am self-employed and currently uninsured and he was able to assist me in navigating an MRI for my leg, a local referral for a surgeon, and discounted prescriptions for the antibiotics and pain relief drops for my eye.To top it all off, he has followed up with multiple calls and text messages to make sure I'm okay. As I expand with employees, I intend to offer Beyond Primary Care's subscription as a perk.Its value has far exceeded its cost within this span of time.Decentralization is the future, and these guys are leading the way!

He is highly colloborative with the patient when treating you. He honors the fact that his patients are the first experts on their own bodies and he listens intendly to them.

Allison Holthausen: My Grandma started seeing Dr. Scheerer first back in the 90's and then my whole family (Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Brothers, In-laws, Parents, and My spouse) started seeing him. He is by far the best MD. He is a holistic DR, and always starts with those options before exploring medicine. He always double checks himself by researching, before commiting to his answer. The office is very home like, so no cold feeling when coming into his office or rooms. He is very sweet, wears regular clothes for those white coat syndroms and always greets me with a hug. He remembers each and everyone of his patients, so you feel like family! I wish I could give him more stars!

I got lucky and just found the practice because it was nearby when I was searching for a new PCP to get a physical. Dr. Gaies is very kind and empathetic. Rebecca Roughton: EDIT: This witch of a woman. I said that I wanted to get tested for Celiac, since my sister has it and weight issues is a symptom nd Dr. Hashemian agreed. I figured that my blood panel did check it and just showed no results when I didn't hear that it came back positive. Come winter, I find a new doctor and get tested for Celiac and, lo and behold, I have it! Celiac is a very serious autoimmune disease that requires immediate lifestyle changes or else you can end up with cancers, osteoporosis, and other autoimmune diseases. My weight issues started improving! I went back and looked at the blood panel Dr. Hashemian ran, NEVER tested for it, despite me asking! If I stayed with this incompetent doctor that doesn't listen to their patients, I would've gotten incredibly sick!Original post:Don't bother. The doctors are obviously rushed. What's worse is the terrible bedside manners by Dr. Hashemian. I've gained a significant amount of weight over the last 4 months which has never happened to me before and with no major lifestyle changes. I have two sisters with thyroid problems that had somewhat similar things happen.The doctor insisted I haven't gained any weight because the scale at their office only registered a half pound difference over the last 1 month. I pointed out that these appointments were at different times of the day, I'm wearing different clothes, they put me on two different scales, and I don't think I drank as much water. I have been weighing myself daily with all other factors the same because I KNEW no doctor would take me seriously otherwise since I'm still a healthy weight. My clothes don't fit anymore.Hashemian absolutely wouldn't listen to me, insisted I haven't gained anything, that I'm making things up and shouldn't worry because "you're still a normal weight even if you actually gained weight". Said I might have elevated cortisol, but she wouldn't test for it, because "it's in your head anyways" Then she told me that I wasn't "telling the truth".Just another old school doctor who doesn't bother listening to her patients and won't do any preemptive searches despite having a family history.

Jacqueline Pringle: I tried to call to get a prescription and even requested it online. No one answered or got back to me. I tried to call today to have my inhaler, a life threatening prescription refilled. The person very rudely told me that they would not transfer me to the on call physician to get my prescription refilled. I am very disappointed with the service here would not recommend.

Daniela B: Saw Dr. Shore for a couple years. She’s fine, just tends to refer out for any problem and very busy so a little rushed through appointments. Every problem I’ve brought to her in person she told me she could handle and to see a specialist, until I call for a referral and then she says she can handle it. (I think she just forgot about when I asked her I’m person and she told me to make an appointment with someone else- I waited too long to call back.) The staff is nice, but overwhelmed. Know they’ll only call once and if for some reason can’t leave a voicemail won’t call again. (I’ve never had a problem with my voicemail, so it’s weird they couldn’t leave a message, but I should have called to follow up sooner.) I’ve been lucky enough to have some amazing docs back home who really seemed to know their stuff, and she’s not really one of them, but she’s fine if you’re young and healthy. The staff has always been incredibly nice and helpful though.

Laura Schneider: While it takes some time to establish care, Dr. Susan Kamper is worth the wait. It is evident she cares for her patients by taking the time to understand their concerns. From a patient perspective, I've rarely had this type of individualized care and truly appreciate Dr. Kamper's efforts.

Lei Wu: The lab didn’t follow doctor’s order and use my blood for the unnecessary tests after my surgery. I get bruises easily from blood drawn but now I need to give more blood. Can someone tell me how that mistake happens?

Mike Healy: I have always found Dr Brophy to be professional, knowledgeable and very engaged. There can be long lead times to schedule appointments but welcome to managed care.

Sitha Kaza: The wait time to get some one on line when calling for an appointment or speaking to a RN is about 15 to 20 mins as an average. The desk staff / frontline are not at all courteous or empathetic of a patients conditions.

Bronwyn McGuckin: Sadly, I cannot rate this practice zero stars.After waiting three months for the first available new patient visit with a doctor here, I finally saw one.I am now on the lookout for another new primary care physician.The one I visited at Briarwood was beyond unprofessional.I won't go into detail here, it's all going in my formal written complaint.If this is supposed to be the best medical care a person can find in Ann Arbor, then God help us.

Ralphie: Doctors and nurse staff have always been respectful, friendly and thorough. Dr Brophy reviews patient history each visit and develops appropriate care. He and his staff are very good with patient follow-up and concerns by phone, email or portal. My only complaint with this facility (and other facilities) is with front desk staff. I always feel like a number or a click of a mouse to desk staff. Rarely welcomed when checking in.

Gloria Garcia: Dr. Gencyuz i seen her a few months became displeased with her because she did take care of me the right way. Never went over my labs with me then waited but i had to ask after 2 months. Then it became a guessing game. She couldn't fix my problem and it took her 3 months trying to say i need an ultra sound now why that long, but refused to treat some of my symptoms. Gave me creams that where not for my problem but made my problem worse. It all makes no sense. Do any doctors care any more or its about some stupid book they create about you lies and lies. Sounds like their haters she one of them if she played games with my health.

S A: Dr. Gencyuz has been taking care of me for nearly 19 years and is the perfect GP for me! Unfortunately for me, I have given her lots of opportunity to prove herself and she is a real advocate for my well being. I have seen other doctors there over the years when Dr. Gencyuz was not available for unexpected need and been very satisfied. The staff has also been outstanding.

Mark Lucas: Amazing staff! I was driving to work and stopped in because I was feeling a touch of discomfort in my chest area. The staff at Brairwood immediately made room to check me out. My blood pressure and ekg were normal but the nurse picked up on a slight skip in my heart beat. I was sent by ambulance to U of M hospital were they found two blood clots in my lungs. Brairwood Medical Group saved my life! Thank you!

Beth: Really disappointing! We are new to Michigan, and we wanted a group of physicians near our home for our family. We were told that it would be three months before a physician could see us. When I asked what happens if a patient is ill, I was told "it could be a little bit sooner". Yikes!

I made my dad switch from his old primary care to Dr. Moore over 4 years ago, She is compassionate, down to earth, honest, knowledgeable and caring. I tell everybody I know that is looking for a primary care she is the Best around. my 73 year old father who is very picky when it comes down to his doctors loves her. If your looking for a primary care physician she is second to none!

Steph A: Have loved UofM for my medical care for decades. I will be changing. Administration has prioritized annual physicals over acute care. To see my primary care as an established patient for an acute issue, first available is 3 months… for primary care. Patients are offered appts with PA or the revolving door of Fellows. There is no continuity of care - may as well be a walk-in clinic. On top of that, you can no longer call this location. If you need an appointment or need to talk to a nurse, all calls are funneled to central call lines. Wait time for a nurse - 26 minutes. It won’t matter because I had a condition that required care in 4 hours per their own protocol. They couldn’t get me in for 28 hours, not with my primary care, of course, so ended up with a very expensive trip to Urgent Care. I will be changing primary care to IHA. Done with UofM. Great care… but you cannot ever get in.

Lexi Z: I absolutely hate this dr office. I’ve been meaning to change dr offices because this place is almost impossible to reach on the phone, I constantly get transferred, the hold times are INSANE. Oh and they gave me the scare of my life for no reason , when my daughter was only weeks old, they called me and told me to take her to the hospital immediately because her bilirubin levels were off the charts.. I get to the hospital and they tell me, oh that’s weird we don’t know why you’re here, her levels are just fine. SO BECAUSE OF BRIARWOOD BUILDING #10 I had to take my newborn to the hospital for no reason..!. During the pandemic, and scaring the heck out of me for no reason..! Oh and I could never forget also the lady in the lab that took my babies blood and she did a horrible job..! Took her ten minutes to take my babies blood. She was clearly struggling and should not have been drawing blood on NEWBORNS Another time I was only ten mins late to an appointment and I literally waited over an hour and 20 minutes to be seen by the doctor with my newborn.. everytime I go they never schedule me follow up appointments so I’m always having to call them which is just a nightmare.

Jumanji 2 S: Was having chest pain for two weeks so I called BFM to be seen by my primary care doctor. It was late so instead they recommended me to urgent care to be seen immediately. A week later though the problem seemed to get worse so went back to UC and they recommended I see my primary care. Called BFM from the UC only to get a nurse telling me that they will call me back the next day. Next day I get a call and they say I need to schedule a video chat even though literally went through screening and an inperson visit for the past two weeks. They can't do any sort of proper evaluation from this video call yet im still going to be charged for the visit. I make less then 1000 a month as a college student. And am already paying for two other visits. Add on the video visit and the inevitable in person visit and what ever testing fees. I'm probably not going to be able afford groceries this month. All I asked was to skip the pointless video call seeing as I had in-person visits twice already at which point the doctor recommended that I may need testing only primary care could provide. Not my first time dealing with delayed visits from BFM. The wait time to be seen by my primary care physician has always been way to long even before covid. The first visit I ever scheduled was for a possible broken finger, and even that took three months for them to fit me in (Not even exaherating). By the time I got seen my finger was already healed incorrectly, and they just told me that it could possibly lead to early-onset arthritis. I am tired of being neglected and extorted by this medical facility and have finally decided to move to new family doctor. Even though the medical professionals at this place are good at what they do, the hoops they make you jump through and the bureaucracy that I have to deal with is literally making my chest pain worse after every phone call. They say front line works but from what I can tell the doctors would rather stay home, and still get paid than see there patients.

Right no3 n3 and my son both are suffering from extreme hives that they havnt helped with ugh.

Haley M: They really don't care what's wrong with you and will do anything to get you out of their office. If you go in with a problem and they find something small they'll fix that and ignore the real problem. They never write things down in my charts or tell me the results of my tests I find them out online and when I call and ask for the results they don't give me the right results or only give me half of the results so they don't have to fix the hard problem only the easy ones. They get paid a ton of money to push our problems to the side and not have time for us. This office should not be in business I have to go to the er every time I have a problem because they won't fix it it's a waste of money they are no good.

Ashley Pogue: I have always been nervous and skeptical about doctors, but all of the staff here has made me hopeful. The staff at check in and check out were very friendly, the nurse was kind, and my new PCP is very helpful and considerate.

Matthew Spoor: They have not been taking ANY new patients since December of 2018. That is not why they get one star - it's the fact that I am trying to find a family physician through the Michigan Medicine (University of Michigan) website. After talking with two different people, it is clear that they DO NOT GIVE A CARE in the world about trying to help me actual find a doctor. I get a lot of nonchalant attitude. Left me feeling not helped, not cared for and very frustrated.

Mark Hanss: I've had nothing but good experiences here. Very high quality customer service and, most importantly, medical care. The wait has never been much and they have been very accommodating with rescheduling when I've missed an appointment. The lab is very convenient when you just need to give a sample and the entire place is very clean and the waiting room is comfortable and quiet. Parking is very convenient.

David Tedesco: I've never had a problem here like some of the other reviews seem to note. The front-desk staff is always polite, I've never waited more than about 20 minutes to be called back for the appointment, and Dr. Yen has been considerate and attentive to my health-care needs for probably close to a decade now. I've also had my blood drawn for tests here and it was the fastest blood draw I've ever had.

Dominic Hamden: Waited over an hour to see my Dr. I Showed up 20 mins early for appointment. Finally had to leave. Dr. Didn't even call to apologize or offer an explanation.

K Slavudd: I have been trying to get a referral for months for a patient with disabilities to be seen by a specialist. They messed up by not listing their disability, so we lost our spot for being seen, and now my family member is left in pain, and I was told there is no one who will see them for the rest of the year. When I spoke to the "head of referral" she was completely unsympathetic to our predicament, she told me she didn't know, and that I should just research it (thanks, because I definitely didn't think to do that MONTHS ago). Then she stayed silent on the phone for 30 seconds (as I thought she was going to ask me for more information) before giving me a dramatic attitude and asking if there was anything else. These people have been rude and simply unhelpful. For people that work in the medical field, they all seem to lack humanity. Don't go here, especially if you or a loved one have a disability. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU.
