I thought for sure it would have to be replaced but Chris the Sales Manager said he believed it could actually be repaired. I told him the previous guy who quoted me said it would fail at the point it was bent, but Chris said that spot wasn't going to do that and that honestly he was probably trying to sell me a new door. Chris said most things could be bent back and recommended repairing instead of spending so much on a standard replacement door when I should be able to take more time to pick options I'd like for what I would have to spend. He said they happened to have an open appointment first thing the next morning and was confident they could repair it for $250-300 and most likely less. I went to get the ok from my wife and when I came back to give him the thumbs up Chris asked if I needed to leave right now or if I was in a hurry. He had already gotten one of the rollers back on the track and said he would just do the repair for me now himself because he didn't want to leave me without a garage door overnight! He wasn't dressed for a repair job but said he didn't mind being cold. I watched him do all the work to repair the door and reset the springs and cables and carefully test everything, and he was done in less than 20 mins! He said it worked out even better than he expected and he only charged $150. I couldn't believe it, he just saved us thousands of dollars!! 🙏 Chris is the most capable "Sales Manager" I have ever met and I feel so fortunate and blessed that he came today. Paul F: We have a decades-old garage door that started coming off the rails occasionally. Ann Arbor Door Systems came out to replace failed rollers. This fixed the problem for a few weeks. However, the issue arose again last week almost every time we operated the door. Jim came out this afternoon and spent over an hour thoroughly diagnosing and addressing the issue. He did a great job and only charged for new brackets since the first visit did not work.

This company came recommended by a family member.I contacted this company for a new garage door opener, they seemed very polite and quickly scheduled me for service. 4 months ago we replaced our springs with another door company but decided to move forward with Ann Arbor Doors because they offered a better warranty 2yrs as opposed to 1yr service warranty.When the technicians arrived they seemed to notice that the springs needed adjusment. Within 10 minutes I was told that the other company that I used installed the wrong springs. Ann Arbor door said they would install the door opener but there would not be a warranty. I quickly called Overhead Door and they arrived within 10 minutes to check on the springs and make necessary adjustments. This took 5 minutes and completely stabilized the tention on the door. I was reassured that the springs were correct,.I was assured that these were the right springs an that was discussed in front of the installers. There is a custom design on the garage door tracks for a higher lift on the door. Which is common just not standard.This escalated into the consultant in the office calling me by phone telling me they will not debate this issue. They would no longer do this job because they determined that there were still issues with the springs. I asked for a recommendation as on what could be done to get the job done. They were reluctant to help solve the issue and stated they did not have time to wait for any amount of time as it would back up their "next big job".I asked them what springs are needed, they didn't know.They are telling me another company installed the wrong springs but they could not tell me the parts that would be proper.They would not continue had their installers pack up drive away without even saying a word.Hmmm...Never again,Overhead DoorAdjusted the springs and rail, ordered me the same opener I was about to have installed and beat the price by $50.00 and offered me the same warranty as the other Ann Arbor Door.Overhead Door called me back and will install the door opener in 2days .Done no problems at all.Replaced the weather strip for 1/2 the price as well.Thank you Overhead Door I appreciate the care of making everything right.

Ross Winiemko: Violated is the first word that comes to mind.Tuesday (10/12), service technician KEVIN arrived at my house to fix a broken garage door spring. I'm at work, my sister came over to the house to be there so it gets repaired. I have a tidy garage with some high-priced items in it.With that, I have a Nest Indoor camera overseeing the interior of the attached garage that leads directly into my home. My sister calls to state that Kevin is swearing up and down upset at some aspect of the ongoing repair - so I log onto the Nest Camera to find out what's going on. Upon logging on, he's rummaging through nearly every drawer within my two stand-up toolboxes. I'm in disbelief at what I'm seeing, but can't call him out with my sister at my house (didn't want to put her in a tough spot). I continue monitoring to make sure he doesn't take anything - he merely does the opposite. The tools that he found in my garage to use, he just leaves them laying exactly where he used them at the base of the door. Toolbox still open, golf clubs and other items thrown on the ground, grease sprayed all over each hinge (think softball size diameter of grease sprayed on a golf ball sized hinge). Grease everywhere - two empty cans laying at the base of the garage door to be exact. Called their office about 10 minutes after he leaves to explain what was just witnessed.I spoke with two separate members of their management team - Commercial Door Manager and General Manager (to remain unnamed) - sent photos, and they've apologized and offered to clean up the grease (unnecessary since it's done). They've stated that they've told their service technicians that everybody has cameras nowadays and watch what they do - so, I suppose if you don't have a camera beware - particularly if you get Kevin. While watching the camera he looked way to comfortable going through the garage looking for stuff to use.They (mgmt.) has spoke with Kevin, and the rest of their team. As I'm sure with anybody's property - rummaging through your personal belongings, tossing stuff aside without regard, and having the audacity to leave it out for the homeowner (me) to discover - is something that the public needs to know when considering Ann Arbor Door Systems when needing work done at your home.One star earned because the door spring was repaired.

Karen Sanders: I was disappointed by my recent sales visit for a new garage door. I had hired this company last year to replace the automatic garage door opener and they arrived in a timely manner and did the work well. So when my garage door became completely dislocated from its metal hinges, I called this company back to repair it.My three main concerns are that:1st, he said we couldn't repair it and would need to install/buy a new door. That was fine by us and we started discussing price/color etc. Everything was going well until, I asked him when he would be able to come back to install the door. At that point he informed me that due to Covid there were manufacturer delays that would mean that a garage door wouldn't be available for install until at least the end of December (4 months!). I couldn't wait that long and said thank you but I think I will have to try to call a few other companies instead. At which point he started going on and on about how no other companies in the area would have doors either and I shouldn't even bother calling. It seemed odd to me especially because, my garage door is a run-of-the-mill white 16' x 8' door. So, I thanked him again but said I will just call a few places and get back to him. He then started talking about how he would have to charge me a service fee unless I signed with him that day. This was never mentioned to me on the phone when I made the appointment. None of the other 6 companies that I have contacted since to give me a quote, have charged me a 'service fee' for not purchasing through them. I flat out refused to pay him and he left.2nd, all 6 companies that I did contact had my door in stock and all told me they could install next week, with one company saying they could install it the next day.3rd, he wasn't wearing a mask and then asked to come into my home to discuss the garage door.

Linda Achatz: I had called and left a message to get a price quote for a commercial door needing to be repaired at the company I work for (it was leaking hydraulic fluid) and after sending pictures of the door, obtaining a quote for the replacement parts and labor, and informing them that the owner of the company I work for wanted to move forward, I never heard back from anyone despite leaving several messages and sending multiple text messages. After two weeks of no return calls or texts, I had to move on. Not telling anybody how to run their business, but customer service and satisfaction should ALWAYS be #1.

Felix Rusu (LowPowerLab): Second time I used them to replace a broken spring - it's a local owner operator company which I prefer over a franchise. They offered same day spring replacement service at a decent price compared to a few other calls I made. The tech that came out also lubricated the door and explained a few useful things to keep the door and spring in top shape. So far so good on both door springs so I'd recommend them.
