Emily Smith: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueVery professional great experience with this company. I will be using them this year as well. Very friendly and respectful workers.Services:Debris removal,Landscaping
Jacob Spragg: My wife and I spend a lot of time away from home throughout the spring and summer, so we trust Local Life to take care of our lawn while we’re away. They always do a fantastic job and are extremely professional to deal with. I’d recommend these guys to anyone who needs anything from simple lawn maintenance to professional landscaping work. Keep up the good work fellas, we plan to do business with them for seasons to come.Service:Landscaping
Becky Bair: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ResponsivenessKind courteous respectful and knowledgeable. great experience plan to use them againService:Landscaping
Alexa Reyst: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueLocal life is a great company that was able to make my landscaping vision become a reality. Easy to collaborate with and responded promptly to my questions regarding services I was seeking. Definitely a company I will recommend to friends and family!Service:Landscaping
Trevor Hough: After years of begging them to fix the poor quality landscaping, we finally gave up and are having another landscaping company fix the problems that Local Life installed. Local Life consistently blamed the weather, tried to say "we're a new company - we're learning", or blamed some other external factor.-We asked for grass and paid them to hydro-seed twice. Turns out the grade of our property should never have had hydro-seeding according to the Ann Arbor city inspector. We have weeds growing.-We asked for a patio. After one season, it's crooked.-We asked for a paver walkway. After one season, it's crooked.-We asked them to fix the issues. They never show up or come back.-They dumped material on areas that we were trying to grow flowers or grass, said they would fix it, never did.-They would leave dangerous equipment scattered around our yard after hours.-They took two wheelbarrows from us (likely because they scattered equipment around our yard and were careless when they collected things). The careless nature of their management caused them to take our materials.-They attempted to dump refuse from another project on our property. We had to yell at them to stop and get the refuse off our property.Go elsewhere...find a quality company because this is not it. The other 1 star review is spot on as well for the experience we had with Local Life. Careless and unprofessional.Services:Debris removal,Landscaping
All About Furniture (All About Furniture): Known the owners for quite some time. Super nice guys, and are always improving their business. We use them for our off campus property and our Showroom location. They do a phenomenal job with lawn maintenance and snow removal. It's easy to get in touch with them at any moment if I have any concerns or questions. They respond quickly and work dillengently. Couldn't recommend these guys enough.
Lannes Loy: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueGreat professional service provided by this group! Very dedicated and hard working company that always makes sure to take great care of their customers. I would highly recommend this company to everyone!Services:Debris removal,Landscaping
Halle King: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueThis is a really good landscaping company. Very professional and responsive to my requests. Highly recommend, I couldn’t be happier with the work they did on my yard. *chefs kiss* perfect service. Fantastico.Service:Landscaping
Kimberlee Beydoun: They know what they are doing and are very courteous . Excellent!!
Kathryn Burns: The Local Life team replaced paver steps at the front of our house. They listened to the design changes that we needed (from 2 steps to 3; change of color of pavers to coordinate with brick finish on home). They showed up when they said they would both in looking at the project for bid and in it's execution. In 2 days they removed the old pavers and created a new look that was such a huge improvement to the previous work. It was evident in the final product that they payed attention to the detail that we wanted (unlike the previous job) and gave a much improved finished product at a very fair cost. I highly recommend their service!
Athena Detroit: Our next door neighbors have Local Life working on their property. Unfortunately everyone surrounding him have experienced repeated and somewhat inexplicably inconsiderate behaviors on the part of their staff. At the end of most days, the crew seems compelled to use a leaf blower to move dirt from certain area's of Nick's property - which seems to entirely ignore the fact that they're covering everyone else in a thick layer of grit. IF this is necessary, it could be done in a way that doesn't compromise the rest of us. If you happen to try to drive down our street at the end of one of their working days, you are enveloped in such a cloud that it's actually a safety hazard. No exaggeration. You cannot see to drive. This caused Nick's neighbor across the street to come out and yell at the crew at one point, brandishing his own leaf blower. As the nearest next door neighbor, this crew has been especially negatively impactful to our yard. In the first weeks, they parked the work truck directly in front of our house and repeatedly stepped out into our wildflower gardens. They were told to stop and did. But seriously? As a company who sells lawn maintenance services, how was that ever ok?Last week they removed fence posts belonging to my neighbor from the property line, and left the posts in our backyard raspberry patch, along with a random gas can. Obviously not our posts, because our neighbor had the authority to request their removal. Not sure why that seemed appropriate either - and if this were the first or only thing they'd done, would be more of a shrug, but this is a pattern of behavior at this point. This morning, they've deposited a pile of dirt in front of our house - and on our wildflower garden. Pics below - they drove through my flower garden to deposit this pile of dirt.I already let their management know, but hopefully this will reach more people.
M Gerard: Local Life has worked on a couple of projects for us, and the results have always been better than expected. Excellent workmanship and clean-up; trustworthy and communicative. Would recommend to ANYONE! Tremendous value for what we paid.
Karissa Gawronski: I have worked with Local Life Maintenance Group on a few projects and they have always been very personable, working far beyond the hours of any "normal" landscaping and construction group. They tirelessly strive to ensure complete satisfaction of all jobs, and I would gladly work with their team again for future projects!
k b: Local Life worked on our property to solve a drainage problem for us. They were efficient and conscientious. They also removed tree stumps. We were very pleased with the price and service and will call on them in the future when we need more work done on our property.
Neil Jain: The work done was phenomenal! Courteous, professional, and answered all questions along the way. Very responsive and they ensured I was satisfied with the job. Will definitely recommend!

BearDown Construction & Management: what do users think?
John Wallace: Do not hire Tyce or Bear Down Construction for your project. I have been ripped off by him and still awaiting compensation from a project he failed to complete this summer.Tyce failed to complete a job he started which forced me to hire another company after my HoA fined me. It has been over 6 months since and he has been ignoring my calls, texts and requests for reimbursment for his failed project. Do not make the mistake I did and hire him.
Philip Schrantz: Tyce did a great job of plowing the snow from our driveways during this recent storm. Nice guy, good attention to detail, solid communication skills. A winner…
Matt B: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,Value
Michael Kennedy: Very professional and great communication. Followed through with the plan, communicated with us as they said they would if the plans changed or if problems came up.
Jacob Ross: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueYou want to do business with people who value character and value - this is the place for that. Charley Vlietstra: Positive:ProfessionalismI've head the pleasure of working with Tyce over the years. He's a phenomenal guy with an unmatched work ethic and standards. If you're looking for a construction company to do things right, go with Bear Down. 👍
James Reedy: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI’ve known these guys for many years and their character is something that isn’t found in many businesses. It’s not just about “getting a job done” for them - they do their work with quality and excellence but also care for you as a person in the process. BearDown is the new “standard” in this industry.
BRANDON CARPENTER: Worked with Tyce, great additude and knowledgeable.

Twin Oaks Landscape, Inc.: what do users think?
J. C.: TimelyEffectiveGood peopleWill call on Twin Oaks again when neededService:Yard drainage
Ambuj Tewari: Got their winter service. Very dependable.
Christy Potter: We have used Twin Oaks Landscape in the past to clean up fallen tree branches and thought they were responsive—the price was a little expensive but fair because the crew always showed up right away and did a good job with the cleanup. We never felt gouged until recently. After losing the main trunk of a tree in a storm, we decided to take the whole thing down. We used a chain saw and removed the branches, so it was just a 4-foot trunk sticking out of the ground. We cut up the branches and stacked them at the curb so they would be easy to run through the chipper. Twin Oaks was hired to run the branches through the chipper, cut the trunk down, and haul away the debris. When the 3-man crew arrived, they spent 20-30 minutes to get the chipper running. It took around an hour to do the actual work on my tree once the chipper was running, and almost all that work was done by 2 crew members–not 3. After our tree was cleaned up, the crew then dragged a large fallen branch from a tree in the common area owned by the subdivision (not our tree) and ran it through the chipper. Even with that work and being generous with time, they were here no more than 2 hours in total. When we received our bill, we were charged for 2 hours and 15 minutes of work for a 3-man crew. We felt the pricing was unfair for 3 reasons: 1) They sent a larger crew than was required to do the work; 2) We were charged for the time they spent getting the chipper running; 3) They spent time working on a tree that wasn’t on our property. All of this inflated our bill so that it was overly expensive. We contacted Twin Oaks about it, and they said they would not change the labor portion of the bill because that is the amount of time the crew reported. Because we had worked with Twin Oaks in the past, we trusted them to be fair with crew size and time reporting. That was not the case. We decided to go with another company for the stump removal and were quite happy with work and the fair pricing. We will use this new company in the future.Note: In reply to the owner, the customer name is Randy Tinkle (I have a different last name), and we do have the right Twin Oaks Landscaping in Ann Arbor. We tried to address our issues via a phone call, but we hit a brick wall. I never want to leave a bad review before trying to resolve an issue personally.Service:Tree trimming pruning
Mark Sockness: Delivered services promised. Very good communication with owner and team. Will use again.
Pamela Meyers: Chris from the company was very responsive. We easily scheduled an evaluation of the work to be done. On the day of visit he called to validate the time and he arriveexactly on time. During the evaluation he was very knowledgeable and most especially honest - he really told us that there was nothing they could do help resolve our problem. You don't often find that in a company. Although they couldn't help.us I will keep them in mind for future work.
Devon Wireman: Critical:Professionalism
Steve Squires: I've used Twin Oaks Landscaping to take care of my home in Ann Arbor, Michigan for the past two years. My son, who lives in this home with his family, is a resident at the U of Michigan Medical Center and does not have time to take care of yard duties. We tried another service at first and were very dissappointed. I switched to Twin Oaks and they have done an excellent job. Of course, they mow and edge the lawn. But in addition, I've used them to remove trees, plant flowers, fix sprinklers and drainage areas, bring in topsoil and redo the back yard with new grass. They service the yard and sprinkler system in the spring and fall. They also remove the snow from the driveway and sidewalks in the winter.Sara Speen and Dan Seal are wonderful to work with and they make sure everything I need is taken care of professionally and timely!I plan to continue to use Twin Oaks Landscaping and recommend you consider using Twin Oaks for your landscaping needs in the Ann Arbor area. You will not be dissappointed!Services:Irrigation system repair maintenance,Lawn mowing maintenance,Tree trimming pruning
Jonathan Lossing: Positive:Professionalism,ResponsivenessGot back to me first thing in the morning. Quality Service
Jan Potts: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,ResponsivenessWe have been clients of Twin Oaks landscaping services since 2010. We’ve always been very thankful for the great service we receive from this business. They are professional, on time and do what they say they’re going to do, and fair in quoting for special projects we’ve had done over the years. Great company!
Marco Rojas: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness
Isadore King: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness
S Pintero: Critical:Quality,ValueNot sure who wrote those five-star reviews but we have used them once or twice for small things as have a couple of neighbors. Our experience was that they were expensive and the quality of work left a lot to be desired. Would definitely not recommend. You can do better.
Bob Lawless: Quality work and very responsive. Buried sump pump line with overflow protection to common drain area. Works great. Navigated sprinkler system and prompt service when I thought there was a problem (which there wasn't - sump pump itself needed plumber service). Thanks to Chris and the team for a great experience!
Steve Hamburg: Great company. Detailed and exceptional service
Ryan Waddington: Twin Oaks has taken care of my sprinkler system for years and does an excellent job consistently. Highly recommended!
Brad: Fabulous job on new brick paver patio and landscaping. Many compliments from neighbors!! Professional, dependable and fair price. Would absolutely recommend!!
NJ S: Vast knowledge of all landscaping options. This company has the customer's budget and satisfaction at the top of the priority list. One of the best options for any landscaping needs in A2.
Patti Gates: Best in the business!!

Washtenaw County Road Commission: what do users think?
JR Vander: Deserve zero stars awful do not move to this area
Dollie LaCombe: I don't know what is being done when our roads are being grated. I live on dirt road and there is so much dust after the repairs and it sticks to everything. They used to apply a potassium substance to cut down on this problem. Please do something.! It's becoming a hazard when you are driving behind another vehicle because you can't see!
United Mich: I put in a request on the weekend for our neighborhood street to be repaired due to a pothole & (district 2) Washtenaw county road commission was out Monday morning. GREAT WORK, thank you.
Minds Eye: With the amount of taxes we pay its atrocious to see the amount of flippin dirt roads in the state of Michigan. And then to add insult to injury there is maybe just ONE full week in an entire YEAR that the roads are nicely driveable. For the rest of the 51 weeks or so the roads are riddled with potholes like the crater of the moon and then don't even get me started about their complete lack of dust control around spring and fall and how its almost impossible live near a dirt road except me holed up inside your house because of the amount of dust flying around. What a shame. These people don't do their jobs or grading and spraying frequently yet we keep paying the taxes. Washtenaw has probably the worst quality dirt roads.
Peter Rosol: Can't maintain gravel roads, period. They may as well leave the roads alone because all they do is create a dust bowl and it's back the way it was in less than a week. Beautiful spring evening, can't even open the windows! I guess that's what you should expect when paying premium property taxes.
James Yarosz: I've worked in Washtenaw county for 20 years but only lived here for 6. The road commission here is without question the worst run agency in Michigan (worse than SOS). I never experienced 1/10 as much frustration in Livingston or Jackson county with road projects. I'm pretty sure WCRC has screwed up every single project I've seen them take on.
John Langmore: About 200 ft of Island Lake Road, just East of Stofer Road has three areas that have side-by-side deep potholes for the last week. It is impossible to get around the pot holes. Today I scraped the bottom of my car when I drove very slowly through the mess. All that the Road Commission would need to do is just temporarily fill the holes with gravel to make the road passable. So far they have done nothing. The space is at the top of the hill and is not muddy. Neighbors have called the road commission but have gotten no response other than words.
Annie Burks: This winter has been very unpredictable, an entire tree landed on the roof of my car, but with the help of the Washtenaw County Road Commission I was assisted with the clean up of this tree that landed halfway in the road and across the sidewalk on my front lawn. Thanks and God Bless!
A C: The condition of I-94 EB and WB at the border of Jackson county is deplorable. You *will* bend a rim if you're not careful. BUT the main reason for my 1 star review is today was the day of the big snow storm (predicted days ago) that dropped a foot of snow.. You'd think there would be snow plows out, right? Nope. Not one. Even after the snow had long since stopped.Ridiculous
Dave Sullivan: Appreciate all help on Waterways Drive after the ice storm!
The candy Man: This office will continue to do its best to misappropriate funds to the best of its ability! I spent over an hour on the phone with different people here that would rather talk over you than to hold a conversation about your concerns . The roads in this county are the worse in the state! They disagree and say they are doing a great job ! I told the lady in the 10 years I have lived the roads have continued to become worse , she’s says that’s true but they are doing a great job! These two statements are at odds obviously. They shut down Pontiac trail and north territorial for 14 weeks to put a round about in when the road was in great condition. Asked why they would not wait till the road needed fixed to work on it. “ it was an improvement “ this is one great example of this office wasting money that should be spent on fixing the roads that have a been destroyed no putting in dangerous intersections! Everyone wants to blame someone else here ! Really great job guys! Keep it up and in ten years we will not have any roads left here!
Spencer Travis: They spread way too much salt on the roads. Our cars depreciate greatly in value due to the rust that is caused by this excessive amount of salt. If more people were to just get snow tires and learn to drive in snowy conditions our tax dollars could be spent less on salt and more on repairing our roads. Salt also has a detrimental effect on our local environment. Road salt has been linked to causing harm to ecosystems in wetlands and other watersheds throughout Michigan. We need to explore other alternatives that create less harmful impacts to our environment and don't cause corrosion on vehicles.
drew Johnson: From a truckers standpoint, super awesome and friendly folks that will work with you, within reason, to get you moving and back on the road... they provided an overnight space and were rdy to go when they said they would be, what more could a trucker ask for!?
Brooke Ayles: Washtenaw Rd east of 23, y'all. That's all I have to say.
Giuseppe Giacalone: Aye man, the fact that it you can’t drive down the road without having your car look like it got done sliding down a muddy cliff, and takes 10 min extra to get to work is unacceptable. DO BETTER
Robert Duncan Carlisle: The incompetence of these people is astonishing. They close a road for months on end (Zeeb) for a project that should take 2weeks. They detour that traffic miles out of the way to Wagner and don't bother to change the timing on the stop lights. Traffic on Wagner is now backing up in a solid wall from Jackson to Scio Church.
Jason Fuller: Tired of busted windshields from their ignorance and chip and seal program.
Edward Warzyniec: WCRC refused to cut dead trees from the road easement in front of my house then a few months later cut one on neighboring property at no cost to the property owner. Called to ask to have a deer crossing sign installed. WCRC said sorry but you must have at least 5 recorded deer accidents a year and I'm only dragging two or three out of the road each year. WCRC will just leave them in the road to get run over or the police will drag them into my front yard for me to deal with. Not a very helpful organization.
Jon Sterling: Worst road commission in the state. Everyone needs to be fired. Nothing more to be said. Period.
Crystal Czerwinski: Rain on Friday had made our snow packed road icy. Our road has a steep hill. People were stuck and couldn’t get out. Even an Amazon driver who spent 4 hours stuck, they worked for 2 hours just to get her unstuck. I left a report on website asking for someone to come out and dump dirt or something. However I had to leave. There is one side lake road you can get out but I can’t get back in due to that having an incline. So I called Saturday morning to the emergency number asking for someone to come out because I can not get home!!! I’ve talk my stepdad into bringing me home late last night because they have a 4 wheel drive truck and the road was still not done. We slid everywhere even in the truck. So I am now stuck at home with no car and my kid is stuck at a friends house for the second day because he can’t get home either. There was no weather related issues yesterday so I don’t understand that not one driver couldn’t come out and dump some dirt or something. What if we have an emergency out here and we can’t get out or they can’t get in?
Mack Foster Sr.: District 5 is in need of retraining there employees. No wonder Michigans infrastructure is crumbling.
