Clothes Mentor: what do users think?
Kelly: Great clothes, purses, hand bags...etcMost items look brand new.Prices are great!
Katon Joo: I will start off by saying that I absolutely love this store. It is very clean and well organized. There is a wide range of styles and sizes for all! Most of the bad reviews this store has received are from people who take it personally when their items are passed on. They get so angry and speak so rudely to the workers who are only doing their job and I’m pretty sure are following a certain policy on buying clothes. If they accepted everyone’s clothes (who thought their clothes were good) the store would be a mess; I don’t see any reviews about them having bad inventory.. let’s make it make sense and be realistic here. I myself have just witnessed a person literally get angry and yell at the employees today and I commend them for remaining so respectful and calm in that situation. It is honestly scary for them to be in situations like that and to be treated that way by grown adults who take it personally when their items can’t be accepted. The employees are clearly not that old so it is very sad to see grown adults acting like children and throwing tantrums when their items are passed on. I had to come and make a review because I just couldn’t believe the way a customer acted in this store today because her items couldn’t be accepted… everyone has different styles and things they THINK are “stylish” and “cute” so just because you think your clothes are perfect and should be accepted doesn’t mean that they actually are..
Carolyn S: I see the problems with this store based on the reviews have yet to be solved. I visited today 2/9/23 and experienced much of what the other comments have said.If your buyer is under 25 years old they won't take any items no matter tags or condition but simply due to style. The reason I have enjoyed shopping there in the past is because they offered styles that aren't intended only for teenagers. Please re-train your employees to all see styles of all ages. I hope this improves. Also, it's not personal. I get not taking certain items due to style and condition. What makes this a bad place to shop is how the employees are trained and based on responses how customers are viewed and treated. Based on the responses from the owner, someone takes their lesser reviews personally and doesn't put them toward improving the customers positive shopping experience.SHOP AT YOUR OWN RISK.
EEK Unique: I wanted so much to like this store and become a regular patron but I've had nothing but problems with them.1. I purchased a final sale item from them online that was marked as New with Tags. Upon receiving it, it became obvious that this was not the case and was, in fact, used.2. When I was in the store browsing, a woman came in to pick up some clothes she had attempted to sell. They didn't accept anything so this woman was going to be taking quite a few items back home with her - though the bag she had originally brought her items in was ripping (and the employee helping her noted this), the employee refused to give this woman a bag to transport her things home in even though the woman asked and that $0.05 bag would've helped her tremendously.3. I attempted to use a coupon that had been posted on the store's Instagram account (without any restrictions indicated) on an item I was buying in-store that they refused to honor.4. When trying to try on items in-store, there was an employee who was supposed to be in charge of the fitting rooms but she kept disappearing to deal with inventory in the back. Not a big deal but the other employees who were just hanging out behind the counter refused to open the fitting rooms because it was this other woman's job.Community and customer service apparently mean nothing to this store. I sincerely hope that they are able to implement new practices to turn this around and soon.
Charlotte Smith: I love this store soooo much. Not only is my closet filled with the nicest clothes I've ever owned but all the employees here are incredibly kind. They always greet me when I walk in and make me feel like I'm the best at finding the most amazing deals. I've always had a positive experience here. Thank you!!
Deborah Arnoldy: The people here are rude. I had 2 baskets and extra coats and she told me to go buy more baskets = they had a large pile of empty ones. They missed out on Ralph Loren, Ann Kline, Marc Jacob's, etc. Shame one tge rudness. Less than 1 star
Becky Geer: They have a great selection! The upper racks are a bit too tall for me, and my arms got tired fast, trying to look through it all.
Sherry Johnson: When I walked in clothes mentor I felt welcomed & it was very clean. The employees were very nice too. I will definitely go back soon.
Lana Morgan: The prices they offer for brand new items are insulting. Ex: You originally paid $50 for some shoes. You decide these really aren't my style & then try to sell them in order to get some of your money back, their offer would be $9...???? It doesn't make sense.
SHANDA JOHNSON: I love, love, love, Clothes Mentor Ann Arbor. The staff is always so pleasant, the store is extremely clean and organized and the owner, OMG, she is such a delight!
Jackie Jarrett: Hidden gem!! I always find all the brands I love for half the price. The staff was nice.
Raina Harris: I had a positive shopping experience at Clothes Mentor. The staff are friendly and helpful. The items are high quality and at a good price point. I will definitely be back
Quentin Staley (masterbuck10): Bringing in a bag that retail value is 1400-1500, was told on the phone by Ally that they would give me 300-500$ based on what they intended to sell it for. (50% of their intended sale price) Upon dropping it off they had me sign the receipt told me 2 hours then some how formulated an offer in 2 mins and had me come back in. At this point I was suspicious the worker who had checked me out stated she wasn't the one who had priced the product. Instead another worker was snickering in the area as the offer of 150$ Cash was given. This doesn't reflect a retail value or the value estimate provided by Ally. Employee's seem to lack knowledge of products they are in taking as well as lack customer service experience.
Amanda LaVictoire: This store is set up nice and I usually find good deals. Associates are friendly. The only negative is that they use some very strong air freshener in store. If you have allergies or asthma it is very hard to be in the store longer than a few minutes.
Jennifer Noel: I just left some items at this store to sell. I was told they would be open until 8 so I could come pick up what they are offering or what they don’t want. I came back at 7:45 and the store is closed and there is no one inside. I have tried to call and there isn’t even a way to leave a message. I have also seen several people walk up to the store only to find it closed. It is incredibly bad customer service not to be open when when you say you will be. It is even worse to hold on to your customers’ property when they have come to retrieve it during business hours. I will have to come back tomorrow from the other side of town which I don’t really have time to do to get my money and/or things tomorrow, and it is the last time I will be coming here.
Elaine Ezekiel: Friendly, engaging staff. Great selection of clean, good-quality clothes at affordable prices. Items change frequently, and I love that I can find petite pieces! Such a great option to cut carbon footprint and save money.
Dakota: Offered me $80 for brand new never worn or used older Guess shoes and purse and everyone in here is very rude unless you look like you have money all me and fiancé did while we were in here was get stared at until we left. Friends mom also tried selling Designer Italian purses and was only offered $8 for them. In my opinion Plato’s closet is a lot better. Here they only pay you $2-$3 per item.
Emily Cohen: Jana was amazing and super helpful!
Shannon Kilway: Clothes Mentor was a complete waste of time if you are looking to sell clothes.
Angela Gross: This Ann Arbor location is one of my favorites. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Always a stop for me when I'm in town.
Holly Spears: LOVE ❤️ this place, it is on my travel route for work. I always find something and the selection is A1. I like the selection and appreciate that they don’t just select any and everything for inventory. Customer service for dropping off inventory and purchasing is excellent.

Dry Goods: what do users think?
Dawn Green: I have shopped this store weekly for about the past year .. today I return a romper WITH THE receipt! I am told that because there was no tag attached THAT only store credit can be given.. HOWEVER, I called the store before hand and asked about this issue explained that I have the receipt and clearly the romper was not worn. I am told “ NO WORRIES” “ I the store manager “ .. only to deal with the ignorance of debate once I’m there. DONE! It’s sad stores are hurting so bad for help that they clearly can’t get the correctly trained people to do the damn JOB! It’s almost as if we’re better off dealing with online shopping when u get the same treatment! Pathetic
Cody Winchester: Just was in the store for 10 minutes, no other customers, 2 employees talking behind the counter and not even an acknowledgement.
Breanna Dailey: Wish I owned this store
Lyn Marshall: Fun to browse through. Clean and organized.
suhani patel: This is the first time i shopped here. It was very interesting cloths a little different from what we see at JCP and other stores. Very helpful associates. Loved the designs. Taking one star out due to the prices were little more on the expensive side. Otherwise great experience will be visiting there again for their sale items.
Sarah Gerlach: Auch a cute store. Lots of little unique items
Bonnie Ohye: Great store, stylish clothes and awesome customer service.
Eliza S: This store is super cute and has chic, classy, and beautiful pieces of clothing. They have fun, and fashionable accessories. There is a Michigander table with Michigan inspired clothes and accessories. This place is reasonably priced and offers a great selection in style. A must go to for shopping! It has a boutique feel and I love that.
Jackie Vogt: Cute boutique clothing store with reasonable prices. Great for casual clothing and inexpensive accessories. I love that it's organized by color palette. The staff is super friendly, willing to give honest opinion, and help suggest pieces.

Ferne Boutique: what do users think?
CS 4: Everything in this store is made in China. No thanks.
Sarah Okin: This shop has gorgeous items and is a fabulous local business. Exceeded expectations and recommend highly!!!
Dani Conlin: Amazing store with great employees and positive and supportive vibes! The clothes are clearly picked with trending fashion styles in mind and cater to no one body type alike. This all inclusive sizing makes me as a customer realize how much the owner cares about not only their customers, but women in general. Hope to see it continuing to thrive!
Jenny Stilley: Couldn’t ask for better service or a better selection! Love this location!

Dear Golden: what do users think?
Cara Willing: Love this shop! A2 doesn’t have a lot of options for women’s clothing, but this place is wonderful. The clothes are unique and unfussy. The store is clean and aesthetically pleasing. The staff has always been nothing but kind to my friends and I. Their instagram material is wonderful as well.
Hannah Conzelman: Lovely shop with a lovely owner, and wonderful selection
Chris R: Poor service and rude staff. The owner is a very unpleasant person.
Susan McLeary: Beautiful store full of well made items for the body and home. A favorite place to pick up special, unique gifts...but I often end up keeping them for myself!
Ame!ia: I’ve been wanting to visit for some time I was finally able. The shop is really a beautiful work of art and I was so happy to be there. But the staff was cold and short with me. I didn’t feel welcomed at all. My card was snatched out of my hand and I did my best to remain positive laughing most of it off. But I’ve thought about the experience a couple times since leaving... feeling mistreated. I only wish it would’ve been better.
Kate McMullan: Over the past six months I’ve purchased two vintage necklaces from Dear Golden and the items were sent quickly, packed safely, and excellent quality! I love this store and look forward to purchasing more goodies.
Becca Newland: I’ve been going to this store whenever I visit home from Portland since 2010-2014 when I was living there as an undergrad at umich. They have a lovely collection and the selection has broadened over the years to include a lot more modern stuff, which I appreciate! Fills what is otherwise a lack in Ann Arbor’s shopping scene. The same staff person ( not the owner) has worked there nearly since I started going. They have always been pretty friendly but today it felt unwelcoming and strange. I asked if a brand was local because I was curious about their sourcing and the price seemed so reasonable, and they just changed their voice and said in a fake English accent “no it’s not” but added nothing else. The accent isn’t the issue obviously but it was odd- I had to ask more about it and their voice got quiet and they almost whispered as they only said “it’s a supplier we really like in Korea”. I bought the item but not generally super into this kind of sourcing without more transparency. They do have lots of smaller independent brands, too, but just the way they navigated this just didn’t sit with me well. They also said “happy birthday” in a clearly sarcastic voice after the family member who was with me said it to me. Very uncomfortable. I will consider shopping in the future but the service is strange and I did not feel relaxed or welcomed.
Olivia McClellan: Such unique, curated and cool items! The staff is also very helpful and genuinely interested in the items they sell. I asked about what incense they were burning in their store and the person at the counter was very happy to share and give me tips and tricks on how to use it! I've burned it in my house every day since!
Christine Thibault: I never received my order and a response from them. Order: #DG1146
Wendy K: One year later: never received my package ordered by my mother (a $500 kimono) and a response from them. My comments have been deleted from instagram. Will never buy again!Order #DG1146.
Jeanne W.: Dear Golden, There are few places where I fall in love with everything! The kimonos are exquisite and every piece vibrates with an inexplicable energy. Thank you.
Gabby Hays: Everyone there is super friendly and they always have really cute stuff.
zam Issa: The best🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟✨
Rivsofwater: Beautiful pieces but rude, dismissive staff.
Lindsey Lincoln: Beautifully curated little shop downtown. Shop for unique and handmade jewelry, gifts, and beauty products. They also have a great selection of vintage and slow fashion pieces.
Sarah Fishburn: I loved this little shop. The shopgirl was perfectly nice, albeit distracted.
Giulia Ippolito Lane: Favorite shop in AA!
Cassie Shamey: My favorite vintage store. Beautifully curated items and lovely display.
Lisa Bradley: Beautiful vintage store. I always can go there and find a dress that is in excellent condition and well-priced.
Nadia Lewis: Best vintage store on the internet -- trust me, I own a lot of vintage. ;)
Alexandra M.: Love this store. Scored two really nice vintage rings for $20
