Renata V: Sue is the best trainer and instructor I’ve ever met. She is very knowledgeable, patient, and she focus on every horse/rider individually.Horses are very well cared for and happy. This is the right place for you if you want to significantly improve your riding, whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider.
Shoshanna Fischhoff: Incredible trainer for both the horse and rider. Teaches you to ride, not just show. The horse’s care and safety is put before everything else. No place i would rather ride and board my horse.
Kaity C: Eventing barn with an emphasis on dressage. Sue is a truly fantastic trainer, and the horses receive excellent care!
Emily B: Sue Moessner is the real deal. Excellent, expert instruction and happy, well-trained horses. She pushes you to be your best and really dig in. Highly recommend for anyone serious about improving their riding.

Cedar Ridge Equestrian Center: what do users think?
Bailey Cummings: Quite the unhealthy environment. Owner belittles kids. Kids get kicked out of the barn when they are paying to ride and owner makes sure she tells everyone. Teen new instructor teaches your kids only to walk out and tell other barn kids how dumb or awful the rider is. They also do Rec and Ed without adults present. Should definitely reconsider if looking for a safe, healthy experience for your kids.
Irm Khan: BEWARE! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE! Honestly one of the worst horse camps my children have ever attended, Carolyn the owner is money hungry and takes more children than she can handle. And it is all run and taught by other students, no adult supervision! My kids absolutely hated it and after 2 days did not want to go anymore, they spent most of day waiting around for their turn to ride and did not learn anything! This place should be shut down! I am sure there is someone I can report her to for unsafe practices and child endangerment! I wish I could give this place negative stars!
Atticus Stoddard: Rude, stuck up people. They had 9 year olds teaching kids up to 12! They smacked and hit the horses as well. The horses bit people as well. Very muddy pastures too.
Valeria Takacs: People were bratty and cared about winning pretty ribbons than the horses
Melissa Bergum: my 13 year old daughter did a group beginner lesson, the lessons were taught by children with the owner popping in and out. When it was time to dismount the horse the saddle slid underneath the horse, thank god i was there to catch my daughter before she fell to the ground. very unprofessional and very unsafe. definitely will not be going back, my daughter was terrified and walked out in tears.
Meguro Tokyo: An amazing place with marvelous teachers, great facilities, and most of all, lovely horses. Friendly people abound, riding for novices, and experts alike, suitable for children (call to check age), young, and the young at heart!
Bradley Dufresne: Beautiful property, good people :)
Eric & Kim Lebs: Critical:ProfessionalismOne year ago today, our daughter was thrown from one of their horses & received a traumatic brain injury. She has recovered but we will not return to Cedar Ridge due to the issues that caused this.
Andy Silva: Great place with down to earth equestrian owners, Carolyne and John. Horses are top notch to learn lessons on for those who wish to compete or leisurely ride. My wife is pretty particular about stables and loves this place! Affordable rates and flexible scheduling. Horses look happy and healthy, especially with the large turnout pastures. Highly recommended.
Amelia Burgess: This place is awful they don’t treat horses good it’s dirty the owner gets very mad and likes to gossip I don’t recommend going here
Anne: Love this place! Great trainers, horses and people! Carolyne, the owner travels with her students to many nearby cross country courses such as Waterloo and Cobblestone, including out of state. It's a dream to ride a place that has so many options and flexibility. I love the cross country course at Cedar Ridge too. During winter months, indoor jumper shows such as Albion are also one of the venues the riders can participate in, including horse shows at CREC too.Cedar Ridge is a wonderful overall equestrian facility in the Ann Arbor area. Excellent place to improve your dressage, show jumping and cross country skills. The horse shows held at CREC are also fun for the adults and kids alike. I've ridden for many years and always learn something new here.
Anai Herter: love this place i highly suggest it best place in the world
Emma Lee: I rode here for two years before switching barns and I am not to pleased with my experience. We were allowed to ride in bike helmets which is very dangerous in horseback riding as I know now, and the owner was very rude and inconsiderate of people and her horses well being, as she often left during her lessons and did not treat her horses very kindly. Many of the people were also snotty. When my friends younger sister stopped riding for the winter, they would talk behind her back and say stuff like, "oh I ride through the winter, she doesn't have any dedication at all." Note my friends sister was eight at the time. Very toxic people. The training was very poor and they often rushed training, I have seen significantly more injures at this barn then any others that I have been to. Many lessons were taught by young kids in middle school which is absolutely ridiculous, as these kids were so young and has little riding knowledge.Do not recommend this barn at all, please look for a different place if you are looking for a place to ride.
evelina ameyaw: I love being here at CREC, because I learn so much everyday and make lots of new friends. I have been to other barns, and the people were very rude and stuck-up. In my experiences at CREC everone has supported me, my horse, going to shows, and much more. For example when my horse colicked eveyone was there for me, and went out of their way to help me! Carolyne is always there for all the girls, she always treats us with respect and teaches us a high level maturity and responsibility! She also works very hard to keep a safe, fun, and friendly environment for us and the horses. She makes the barn a very affordable place to ride! I highly suggest riding here if you want to be serious about the sport!!
Margarita Minor: I sent my daughter here last summer and will never reccomend this place to anyone.Terrible on children's safety... grade F-....allows children to ride around on front end of tractor, alllows children to access cross counrty courses without proper supervision and has a german shepard rooming around that has already bit a few kids in the face.Awful for horses...grade F--....horses used for lessons and competitions when they are too old.Beware to buyers---there is something not right going on on this farm, oh excuse me, equestrian center.
Bunny Leach: Carolyn is excellent if your serious about riding!
Rhonda Pillote: Caroline, the owners, loves helping any girl learn to love horses. She does her best to make an expensive sport affordable to as many as possible. It is a working horse farm and she really makes sure that the girls understand everything that is necessary to have and care for a horse. If you want your little angel to show up and get on her waiting horse, ride around in a circle and then go home , this is not the place for you. If you want your child to really learn how to care for a horse and accept responsibility for both herself and the horse this is a great barn. The kids who are here are amazing. I am so proud of all the things that they are able to do and the love that they show for the horses. IF you are a mom who wants to do everything for your child and make sure that she never gets dirty, again this is not the barn for you. If you want your child to grow into a confident, courageous person this is a great place to start that growth.
Del K: My kids took class here a few years ago and I'll never send them there. I was very disappointed by the owner's attitude toward children's safety. She lets 11-16 year olds teach new kids from ages 5-10. According to her, it is expensive to hire grown up teachers on regular basis and besides these kids are very good teachers because 'they have been on a horse all their life'. Some parents are ok with it for the same reason and call it normal. Seriously? Would you let a 12 year old kid teach swimming class at a Rec Center because she spent all her life surfing in the ocean? That is was HUGE safety concern for me because these supposed very young 'instructors' did not make sure my 7 year old was understood all safety instructions or notice my 6 year was not even present when the instructions were given. My 6 year old was asked to wait in a corner for half hour before a horse was available (this was a paid scheduled class through rec & ed) and then they directly put her on a horse saying 'stay in the middle and hold the rein all the time'. When she fell down the owner I was the only one to reach her and detangle her from rein. The owner who was walking the horse with her before was nowhere to be seen. I had to ask loudly several times before one kid instructor shrugged her shoulder saying she doesn't know. A few minutes later the owner came up to me and after noticing iphone in my hand had the audacity to tell me parents are supposed to stand outside the arena and blamed me for spooking the horse with upclose flash photography which made my child fall. I told her I was taking a video from outside the arena until I ran up to my child. The owner had apparently gone off to attend a phone call which I was told by another parent that she does several times during a class. The owner was the only person in the arena over the age of 21 or even 18. Luckily my iphone was still on during the whole incident and captured the video which I showed to Rec & Ed director next morning. She told me three parents had already called her and reported the incident and expressed deep concern about safety of their kids. I was surprised other parents even noticed because no one came to my kids' rescue or even asked after her well being when the incident happened. The director told me she was already planning to cancel all future classes at this place. The only reason she had arranged classes there was some parents had given her great reviews about this business and she wanted to support local business. I told her she should have visited the place to see for herself how classes are conducted before making such arrangements with the owner. She had put several kids at risk by taking word of mouth. She was extremely apologetic and told me she will visit all future places and ensure safety. When she saw the video she was shattered and told me there is no way she will allow any classes to be held there. I wouldn't be surprised if the positive reviews for this place came from parents who are ok with 12 year olds teaching horseback riding classes (I have met such parents who even call that normal practice) and those who feel sorry for local business owners even if the business has little or no sense of safety or customer service (the owner is also a part time AAPS bus driver). The place was also filthy with horse manure stinking up high, no proper place for waiting parents to sit, and no other staff to talk to about classes and concerns other than the owner. I have taken my children to Rushlow Arabian which is a bit far but very clean with benches for parents and most important the instructors are grown ups. I don't care if my kids never learn horseback riding but I'll never risk their lives going to places like this one. I was told by some parents if I report this business then this poor woman will have to shut down her business and loose her income. Local business doesn't mean you take people for granted. There is no excuse for brushing aside safety concerns of parents. Those who do send kids here should seriously reconsider their priorities.

Flavi Justo: Uncles have the white stuff
carter may: My daughter loved the youth rider event
Bethany Westrick: The owner and staff were friendly, helpful, and gentle with our little riders today during the birthday celebration. Each kid had an opportunity to do three rides. My kiddo is newly three and didn't have legs long enough for the stirrups but did have a helmet that fit. Each movement was very controlled and fun for the kids, very safe. They had an opportunity to pet the tiny ponies and brush him. Overall, the experience was fantastic. I like how patient everyone was with the kids and how respectfully everyone spoke to one another. Would absolutely recommend for a birthday party.
Alan Rooney: Great experience! Very friendly staff and well-trained horses! We'll be back again soon!
