Best Hunting Store Ann Arbor Near Me

Steve Adams: I’m not sure what’s going on with this location but it’s almost like they’re getting rid of their fishing/camping gear all together.We’re well into spring and the fishing/camping season has started. I went to pick up some things a few weeks ago and the shelves were disheveled with every limited stock. Thinking I was just too early I came back again today and it’s even worse. The camping section is now like two half isles, the fishing section is down to just 4 isles with 1 pack/product on every peg to make it look fuller than it is. Most items are lacking any and all variety. Good luck finding something in a length/color that you want.I’d say your local grocery/super center has more stock and variety than this “sporting goods” store, which seems to only sell clothes at this point. There’s no way you could use this store as your primary source of hard baits.

Bruce Popejoy: Went in with my nieces as they were looking for sporting items...new cleats for soccer, sports clothing and items for the upcoming track season. The selection seemed pretty good, some prices were good and other items seemed more than other stores. We were helped in the show department, the young man was running between customers and was very helpful and efficient...only think others not working as hard could have stepped up and helped. Lots of clearance in the main aisles. We found most items quickly and were on our way to the next store in a timely manner.

Jonathan Li: Called in ahead of time to see if the bike repair service was available, and was told yes. After arriving there with my bike about 1 hour later, I was told by the bike mechanic that he didn't feel like repairing bikes that day. Unbelievable.

He knew info on every gun in the back of that store. From the garbage HiPoints to the quality of a Taurus or a S&W. If you want to purchase a gun go see Will at Dunhams in Ann arbor you couldn't ask for a better experience....p.s Didn't purchase a gun yet he had no issue showing me several guns and talking through their features and pros and cons. Go See Will!

Tab B: I was in the store shopping and had a physical emergency, I could not find anyone in the back of the store. I stuck my head through the "employee only" doors, knocked on the break room where the manager appeared to be. I was promptly yelled at by the manager even when I tried to explain my situation. I have in the past spent much at this store. I will never return. Thank goodness I wasn't having a heart attack.

Maxine Mercier: Very little help when you are trying to find something. Then when you're being checked out and the cashier just slides the money in a rude way instead of handing it to you. I just took it wrong, maybe. However even if you don't want to be at work try to be more polite and wear a smile. Otherwise call off cause your having a bad day.

Tommy Darrow: Love Dunham's got to get stuff on sale though the retail is kind of high if it's not in the ad or coupons but they do a good job of keeping it stocked got a sweet deal on a 23 gauge I love it

Karen Godwin: I usually love shopping here, but just now was surprised at the lack of support I received even though there were four employees at the front just hanging out. They all said hello to me. They all said goodbye to me. The one in the swing said she liked my glasses. But never did anyone come and help me as I tried to figure out how to choose a ski jacket at the back of the store. I love their inventory and I'm usually a pretty self-service kind of person. But with technical gear, it would have been nice to have proactive support. Especially during the holidays when the stores are packed tight with so many options. I left.

Zachary Scherfner: Pretty cool place. Especially having Fjallraven gear. It’s hard to find a place that has a decent selection. I give 4 stars due to it may be a hiking score, but not in one that you would plan to actually be “camping”. They don’t have the supplies one would call the minimalist. It was actually pretty depressing with the brand that they have. If your out looking to get that “photo” that you camp, this is the store for it. If they were to add the gear one needs for a week long or extended hike, it would defiantly be 5 stars.

They don't have a huge selection in the store but there website does and they will have items shipped to the store for you. I do think their sticker would be much more hysterical if it said canoodling instead of French kissing though. Just sayin.

Ping Zhou: A weird, quirky store with a lot of character. A named pet fish, an indoor swing set, tons of pictures of dogs, an upside down mannequin, etc. Great of variety of outdoor products from Fjallraven to North Face. Although Moosejaw is no longer independent and is owned by Walmart (not sure about this specific store, though), it's still nice to have a homegrown (Michigan) brand.

Jim Lee: I’ve been extremely pleased with Moosejaw customer service as I’ve helped a friend get outfitted for MI winters. I fit “off the rack” but my friend struggles with women size small to large being appropriate depending on brand and style. MJ folks have been very helpful and patient with exchanges and returns.

Luis Orellana: Since moving from SoCal to Ann Arbor 5 years ago this location has always had what I needed, whether it is a rain jacket, hiking boots, climbing rope or even a new travel backpack on the fly. This location has always had it and the customer service is too notch. Happy Customer of 5 years now.

David in the bike department is so kind, patient, thorough, knowledgable and accommodating. Pat was great too! Nick: Great team at the shop but every once in a while you get a rookie who doesn’t use the numbers under the bindings… they like to use a lot of chalk that’s obnoxious and takes time for me to clean off… please stop doing this.

Maggie Williams: Honestly who doesn’t love rei.Yesterday I utilized the bike shop for the first time and was blown away. Being newish to Michigan, I was very nervous to bring my triathlon bike in for service, after years of utilizing a specific endurance bike shop in Colorado that specialized in triathlon. Because triathlon bikes are not the type of bike REI sells, I just assumed it might be an issue.The associate David was incredibly kind and patient as I tried to explain what hiccups I was experiencing with my bike. He walked through a few things with me so he could best understand my concerns, instead of just checking the bike in and saying he’d call when ready. He also offered varying services that he thought would be better than what I asked for given my bike is new, but did so in a way that was informative and not just pushing a higher service bill.I shop rei for all my rock and ice climbing needs, and I’m stoked to be able to use them for my other sports as well.

William Crown: This facility is absolutely beautiful, and the people running it will absolutely point you in the right direction. They can handle pretty much anything in-house, including training from experienced instructors. I stopped there to check it out, have some work done, and pick up a few things. Eddie Smith: I was a member here for over a year. Ann Arbor Arms has an exceptional facility... it's always clean, well-maintained, and well-designed from a customer experiencd perspective. Seriously, this business is best-in-class when it comes to reinvesting in their facility. Ann Arbor Arms also has good service. Their staff are very polite and seem to truly care about helping customers. And for a firearms retailer and gun range, I have found Ann Arbor Arms to have very reasonable prices.But regrettably, and the biggest motivation for terminating my membership, is that Ann Arbor Arms demonstrates no consideration for the environment. I brought these concerns up to the company's leaders for over a year and I never saw any action or follow through. Every day this business throws hundreds of large paper targets in the trash instead of recycling them. This business has made no investments into EV charging stations despite the growing trend of vehicle electrification. And Ann Arbor Arms has made no investment into solar panels and also no attempts to purchase renewable energy through the grid.Again, Ann Arbor Arms has a great facility, excellent service, and reasonable prices. But that's not enough to be successful in today's business environment, and I hope this company's leadership makes changes given the culture of the Ann Arbor area and consumers like me who enjoy recreational shooting but also want to protect the environment.

Mo H: Walked in here with hopes of getting help with my AR. I took it to couple other shops closer to my house who had no idea what was going on. Said i needed a gun smith. Took it into A2 fire arms & within 10 minutes of being there i got the whole situation resolved. The AR is good as new. I asked if i should leave it and he told me not to worry and was going to fix it on the spot which they did. They explained to me what the problem was, and insisted i don’t leave a tip. I couldn’t thank them enough so I’ll just do a little thanking back by giving this review. The range is also really cool!

Isaac Bear: Almost every firearm I’ve purchased over the last 9 years has been from A3. Went looking for a target 22 pistol for my wife today, after our range time. Shane and Dalton (spelling?) offered their personal pistol, ammunition, etc for her to try out before purchasing. This was the first gun she herself has purchased, and the experience test firing made her comfortable/confident that she was choosing the right gun for her.

GTA Grogu: Rental guns need cleaning. I am a tier II member. I try different firearms available for rental. In the last 6 months, I find that 70% of the rental firearms are dirty. 2 out of 5 regulars who work at the range counter make up policies and constraints to make me pay for add-ons. When I call them out (knowing the rules well) they quickly slink back and stop upselling. 4 out of 10 times the range counter guys will forget to activate your lane. So you go inside, unpack, and have to come back out because they forgot to activate the allocated lane. Prices are a major markup - both for sales items and for FFL checks. Go elsewhere. Membership contract is a trap. If you want to cancel, you need to pay half of the "balance" for the rest of the first year as a cancellation fee. Not even cell phone companies and Ann Arbor apartment landlords have such draconian termination fees.

It's bright and modern; the range we were on could easily accommodate our class size and provide us with the chance to shoot steel and paper targets.And the store has everything you could want or need for your range day and beyond. After my diminished environment class, I went to the store and purchased a handheld tactical flashlight. Just a great experience all around.Ann Arbor Arms would be my gun range of choice if I lived in TSUN (That State Up North).
