Monroe Huckaby: The staff are most helpful to answer my questions concerning the best steel to use for my fabrication. The in stock selection of materials is the best in this area. They have always had what I was needing for the current project.

Bruce Manluster: Very knowledgeable staff and enjoyable showroom area. I stop in every so often to see if anything interesting is in the drop section. Their selection of plastic has increased quite a bit over the years as well.
Peter W. Meek: If you need metal, this is the place to go in Ann Arbor. Wide selection of steels, aluminum, brass, etc. Don't forget to check their selection of "drops" (smaller chunks left over from cutting big bars into smaller bars); there might be a piece just the size you need.(I reserve 5 stars for once-in-a-lifetime items. 4 stars is a rave review from me.)
Junk Nerd: Store hours for Saturday changed July 2016 to 8am-Noon. Great place to get aluminum/steel/plastic for projects.
L &J: Great selection, and they can even do custom runs. Recommended.
Julian Carpenter: This location has lots of small stuff and some big stuff too. Lots of drops, huge selection of rod tube, sheet etc. But like everything else in ann arbor this place is expensive. Be prepared to pay a premium. Good if you are in a bind and need a small piece right now. I have been buying here consistently for a couple years and have found that their quality of materials is worth the little extra price, and they recognize repeat customers, which I appreciate.Edit: the more I go here the more I like it. This place is great.
Adam Booth: I shop at Alro primarily to look through the drops bins and have found some really great deals for small projects. Maybe this goes without saying, but if you're shopping the bins at Alro, you should bring something to wipe your hands off with and be careful of sharp edges. All the steel is covered in protective oil/goop and I don't think any of the drops are deburred--which is fine by me since it keeps them cheap.The service crew has always been polite and helpful. And a number of the guys are quite entertaining.

Linda Williams: Jon rescued an old piece of furniture that has been in the family for 4 generations. There was no value in it except for the family history, but the project was handled as if it was worth preserving - now sturdy, useful, and beautiful.
Dave McNutt: Brought Andy a cut and weld job for a high precision piece. Andy and his team nailed it! Great shop!
Julian Carpenter: Hosford and Co is not your average business. Family owned, they take pride in their work and have possibly the most diverse and complete metal fab shop within a hundred miles. They can do anything from intricate CNC mill work to huge outside architectural structures and everything in between. These guys have metal working skills imprinted on their DNA. This place is not the cheapest for a reason, they do great work.
Sid Crenshaw: Hosford has done two small welding jobs for me. I first sent a pipe flange to be welded to a section of stainless pipe and they did an excellent job. Then the second time was due to my self induced problem. I ended up cracking an inner clutch/outer case cover and they welded up the crack and it has held perfectly. The turn around time was inconsistent between the two visits, but as a custom metalworking facility with various projects, it didn't bother me at all/came to fully expect it (I'm employed in the trades and there are always busy and slower times that dictate waits for jobs). They wern't the cheapest, but you are paying for a professional job by professional welders/metalworkers and they must be compensated for their expertise. Granted, my jobs that they did were just a drop in the bucket for them, but they did a great job at both of them.
Eric Williamson: Excellent craftsmanship, fast turn around time, saved me a lot of money and headaches. My experience at Hosford Co. was so much more then what I expected. Instead of just giving me a quote based on my illustrations (like everybody else), Jon came up with a design solution that was much more economical, stronger, and aesthetically pleasing for my rotary tumbler frames. Jon and his team are a wealth of knowledge that do quality work. I highly recommend going to Hosford Co. for any of your metal fabrication needs.

mpozenel: Critical:Professionalism,ResponsivenessMarquis came out to quote a job. Said he could fit us in before spring and would send a quote. Sent two messages asking for the quote over three weeks and he never responded.
Camille Vernon: The folks at Omega are top-notch. They are friendly, responsive, respectful, helpful, and they deliver quality work! Every call I placed got a call back. They fit in an urgent part of our project early before they were scheduled to do the rest, which is more than I can say for all the other groups in town being booked out for months! These were the ONLY folks who called us back about siding work and chimney flashing. Now the squirrels can't get in anymore, our rotten siding is gone and replaced, and they primed the new siding for free! Highly recommend Omega for your construction needs. (Also, they started off as a chimney/mortar company, so call them up for your chimney needs!!)
William Sverdlik: We called Omega on two separate occasions for water in the basement. In both situations, Al was at our home promptly. He is courteous, friendly , and extremely knowledgeable . In both situations, he explained the problem in great detail and further explained that no costly repairs were needed. This is a high quality company . Highly recommended.

Henry Haddad: Didn't back warranty necessarily , was told "work was sufficient" at the time of repair, but needed major work. Well, why wasn't that major work done instead of doing a shabby job. Came out 3 years in a row for the same issue every winter when the snow melts it leaks into the house. Was made to pay a transfer warranty fee too, since it wasn't directly in my name. This company is just bad news bears, ended up biting the bullet and using a new company. Got a whole new roof for the same cost I was quoted to do the "major repair". Al seems like a nice guy too, but the workmanship is terrible, and they should have just did the job properly the first time, instead of putting a bandaid on it, so it seemed. Wont be using their services.

Ryan Dybdahl: I called Omega to check out smoke transfer between flues. Al quoted flue top dampers at $900 each and cleanings at $300 each. He said he would need to schedule a day to do the work. Thinking this must be an extensive project, I bought it. Ten days later I finally was called to say they would come that afternoon to do it. After the cleaning they glued dampers to the tops of the flues and were done in about 45 minutes. Al defended his $750/hour labor rate and double cleaning rate, saying it was due to his "high overhead" costs that I didn't understand. Omega Construction is aptly named, they are the last one you should think of calling. They apparently only maintain their good BBB rating because the BBB doesn't consider "pricing issues" or "buyer's remorse" in their calculations. BBB is basically another way to advertise.Now I see "Mr. Integrity" has posted a public offer of a discount AFTER being privately told he would never be doing work for me again!Service:Masonry repair maintenance
Courtney Crawford: I hired this group to complete a chimney inspection and sweep. They were very responsive and returned my call for a quote quickly. They called before arriving to complete work, showed up on time, and did a quick review of the quote again on site before beginning work. Additionally, they practiced social distancing and wore a face covering throughout the entire project. Overall good experience!
Barbara Adams: Ron/Marquis and their crew built a 112 foot long retaining wall of cement and cement block along the side of my property. They were very professional. We thought it would be straight forward but they ran into ground water at 4 feet below grade because the wall needed a 4 foot footing. I was beside myself but Ron/Marquis and crew took the situation in stride. They not only knew how to over come this problem with construction techniques but also engineering knowhow. It turned out to take twice as long to complete. However, the wall turned out to be better than I expected. I am very satisfied with the work. Ronald Delph: Al and his crew are top notch. I've had Omega out several times to do work for me, and each time they did a great job. They rebuilt my chimney, and inserted two liners into it. When the collar around the chimney started cracking and was still under warranty, they immediately came out and put on a new one, no questions asked. Al is great at keeping the lines of communication open, and he is easy to work with. Their workmanship is top notch--I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I highly recommend Omega!! Ron Delph
Sean Smith: Had a great experience with Omega. We had a few spots where an old addition was leaking water, and Al came out and gave a thorough inspection. We had a flat garage roof replaced, but they also fixed a "laundry list" of various odd jobs to seal up the house and prevent water damage at another spot where the wood was getting soaked. Very happy with the quick work they did and our house is definitely better off. Glad they were so thorough and did not just address one aspect of the problem.

George Kern: What a pleasure working with Al, Marquis and Paul. They replaced my leaking chimney chase cover. Al took the time to sketch out how the cover is supposed to work and how the existing cover failed. Took him an hour and a half to measure an exact fit. Marquis and Paul were great on the install. Cleaned up all the debris , even measured exactly the dimensions for the screw attaching points. I haven;t seen pride to detail like that in a long time.
