Karnik Pet Lodge at Maple Village: what do users think?
Maryann Fardig: Very disappointed with the lack of communication and transparency regarding changes in services and rates. My dog has enjoyed boarding and daycare at Karnik for year but we will not be using their services again.
Anne Cummings: My dog Sarah Jane loves her playtime here, and the lodging as well. Very confident she is well taken care of.
Emily Jones: Such a warm welcoming dog loving staff!
Sunny: I love that they have outside play areas for the dogs The dogs do seem to be outside more than inside, which I think helps lower the chances of your dog(s) coming home smelling like pee. Like many others, I wish there was a camera outside. My dog is always eager to go here and comes home tired. One downside is how many times she's gotten kennel cough which we think most likely originated from here. This daycare is a little bit farther away from us than other places, but completely worth it for us. My interactions with Jess have been nothing but positive.
Barb K: I wanted to board my 13 year old fawn Doberman at Karnik. I took her over there for consideration. My dog has all her shots, but the staff at Karnik said she still needed another shot for canine influenza. My dog already had a shot for canine influenza but they insisted she needed another one. So in order for my dog to be considered, I took her to the vet and asked about a second canine influenza shot. My vet told me they knew nothing about a second round of shots for canine influenza. So I brought my dog back to Karnik and updated them on what my vet said, They responded by saying they wouldn't accept my dog for boarding because she was too old. My dog is very active and my vet said her labs are spotless and she is in perfect health. So Karnik just made me jump through some hoops only to say No. They were nice about the final rejection I guess, apologizing, but I don't appreciate my time being wasted.
William Banzhaf: Wonderful and knowledgeable staff. Beautiful facility.
Farrah Rangler: Very friendly and professionalMy cat was very content and staff was very attentive to him
Tavish Phelps: Love this place! They take really good care of our dogs and we always feel safe leaving them with these guys. Tha staff is very friendly and patient too.
Linda Chumney: We boarded our kitty for a few days, very clean when we left her and picked her up. We have her back home for a little while now and she is in a pleasant mood! We will use them again.
Denise McNulty: My doodle has had a wonderful time at Karnik. He has been coming for doggie daycare for the last five months, and he gets excited to go into the building each time we arrive. It is so cute, when he enters he (we) are always met with cheerful greetings from the staff and the other pups. My doodle just spent his first weekend away from home at Karnik. The staff are/were very supportive and attentive to my pup’s needs. They were easy to communicate with about everything that I could expect from them and the care they will provide while my doodle is with them. He was so pampered. He had his own suite to stay in when he wasn’t in doggie daycare. He even received an individualized tuck-in every night. My doodle was apparently so comfortable and happy with his stay that he did not behave any differently when being picked up than he would after a usual day at Karnik. Oh, they celebrated his birthday with him too. He also was pampered with a leisure bath…after which he was the cutest, fluffiest boy ever!!!Thank you Karnik staff for taking such great care of my little doodle.
Michael Loria: We couldn't be happier with Karnik's. Their friendliness and professionalism are unmatched. They have gone above and beyond our expectations every time. We never have to worry when we send Lola there.
Andrea Bronson: my experience with every one employed there and or volunteer and or whatever has been fantastic. Everything is great for my dogs which are 120 pounds a piece on average. The staff there deserve a five star every day.
Jennifer Rokke: We have been “trying out” different Daycare options in the area to find the best fit for our family. The entire team was very friendly & great with our very energetic 1 yr old Golden Retriever for his first trip to daycare. The facility is clean, located in a great location and all the dogs seemed very happy. Henry didn’t want to leave! We will definitely be back again! Super job Karnik team!
April Ryan: A perfect place for boarding! Our dog had never been boarded and we knew she’d be anxious about it, as were we, but the Karnik team did a wonderful job taking care of her and we were able to relax and enjoy a long-awaited trip thanks to their care and expertise. We would recommend Karnik to anyone in need of boarding for any length of time.
Charlie Kay: Lovely people work there! It’s convenient and friendly! They treat my dog very well! Highly recommend!
Brian Knight: Our pup races to the front door at Karnik. He loves all his four and two-legged friends there, and so do we. Ann Arbor’s best pet care!
Michael Holmes: Super helpful and friendly staff. Our pup loves it here!
Louisa Self: Our pups love going to Karnik for play time and overnight stays! Everyone is so friendly and caring! 🐕‍ 🐕‍
Marianne Blaesing: The perfect mix of professionalism and personal service. My dog loves being here and I love the fact that he's well looked after and tired when he comes home!! I've tried other places, but this is the best!
korin davis: Franklin loves Karnik! He comes home from doggy daycare happy and tired. We love that we can check in on him with the pet cam when he boards. Even after boarding for several nights he is still excited to go back to daycare! (And services are competitively priced.)
Samantha Cooper: Great staff. Friendly. Our dogs love boarding there

BreedAbove: what do users think?
Colleen McClatchey: Pansy has always been taken under the great care of the staff. The team listens intently to the needs of the client to ensure they stay happy and healthy. The entire staff is wonderful, caring and conscientious. Thank you very much.
Erin Ranville: Excellent service. The staff there clearly care about the dogs in their care. The facility is very clean and the intake/pickup process is quick and very safe. The staff are very responsive to dog-mom update requests during boarding and let us know right away if there are any problems.
Kathleen Osborn: My Husky is so happy at Breed Above on the 2-3 days / week I bring him into play in their DayStay play program!! I recently boarded him as well for two nights and it was great that he had activities and sleep in a comfortable, welcoming area -perfect for his size. Thanks to all the wonderful staff (on site 24x7) for helping ease my work life balance and my dog a happy boy! Very clean, caring, and accommodating!
Carley Fields: My dog Lucy loves breedabove and gets excited anytime we are going! They do such a great job!😊
Stephanie Hunter: We love BreedAbove! When my beagle Oscar started going to BreedAbove, he was hesitant to go with the staff, even though they are always welcoming and very friendly. He spent some time in Daycamp to help him gain confidence before graduating to Daystay. Now, the minute we pull into the parking lot, Oscar gets incredibly excited and always makes a beeline for the door to go in and play with all his dog friends. He comes home exhausted and happy!
Kelly Halpern: Breed Above has been great for our puppy, Hutch. He started day camp at 16 weeks. He is now 8 months old. He goes to day camp twice a week & has boarded once for a week. He loves it & always needs a “boot scoot” to get him to leave the building. I believe going to Breed Above has helped socialize Hutch & tire him out!
Sarah Garrison: I feel like they really care about my doggo. They communicate very well. This is the only place in town I've been a repeat customer. They have a very nice clean facility.
M W: Cannot even give it 1 star. Just called 3/27 11:29 to get rates and questions on bringing our dog there. They want a 1st night deposit and if you have to cancel for whatever reason you lose the deposit. I asked the girl what if that person literally had an emergency or something terrible happen - she then put me on hold for 8 minutes, never coming back on and then one has to listen to the most annoying music ever. Out of 9-10 facilities I have called, this is the only one charging a deposit. Which leads me to believe there is a definite problem there. Sorry but no I would not bring my dogs there. And scrolling through to the bad reviews, definitely not.
Y Z: Very disappointed for not communicating the closing. Will not be returning. Sorry.
Tanushree Shirodkar: This place is the best for boarding. They have people taking care of the fur babies all night unlike all other places where dogs are left alone for almost 12hrs by themselves. I can trust by babies here and know that they will be safe and loved.
Kangqi Parsonage: My dog Monty loves to go to the daycare and the hotel stay. He cries with excitement all the way to the facility every time I take him in the car. The last hotel stay he was allowed to take his bed (to put on top of the hotel bed) so he could have a sense of home and wouldn’t miss us too much. Thank you to all the staff who work there!
Amy H.: We love BreedAbove. Very clean, friendly staff and our pup is always happy to go.
Marcy Ott: We have been a client with Breed Above for both daycare and boarding, ever since they opened. From the moment you are greeted at the front desk, to the pick up time at the end of day stay, the staff is always welcoming and informative. Ridley, our current dog, can't wait to go inside and play. We value having a place like Breed Above available in our community!
Javin Grisham: This place is a nuisance. Neverending barking and its from OUTSIDE. So if you blieve your dog is being kenneled inside those kush rooms Id check in.
Jorge Villafuerte: I have not had the opportunity to use this facility yet. I have tried calling acouple times over the past two weeks and have left messages. I read the reviews and everyone seems to really love it! It makes me nervouse if I were to board my dogs here and needed to get a hold of them would they not answer adn not call back?
sahar jalilian: My puppy had grooming with breedabove. They were so nice and professional. It was my best experience with a grooming service.
Kathleen Grimes: While quite expensive, we think they take very good care of our dogs. The facility smells very clean and the staff couldn't be nicer. We like them quite a lot.
John Cheek: The team at Breed Above is fantastic. They’ve been taking care of our 10 1/2 yr old Cavalier Jazz since 2017, and even though we moved away from Ann Arbor, we still drive nearly a hour to take him to Breed Above when we travel. He recently wasn’t feeling great during a stay, and they got him special food, whisked him off to a quick vet visit, and gave us daily updates. Breed Above is a premium day stay and overnight kennel and worth every penny!
Sandra Vizachero: ❤️ breed above. Take such good care of my fur baby!
Sean Handler: I recently tried to make a grooming appointment for my dog Ru Paul. On top of having to get vaccination records all over again (they require this almost every time I've tried to make an appointment), there was some terrible miscommunication in which I was never informed that a dog groomer who could actually do a haircut for my dog was not available. So when my dog was brought over, they assumed he was only there for a "wash and brush" which doesn't even come with a haircut. When someone asks for a "grooming appointment", that usually assumes they want a haircut for their dog. When I expressed my displeasure I was told that the person who I had been texting with was not even aware of this because my dog's breed was also misprinted in their records, even though he has been to the facility before and has in fact had a haircut done there previously. So they are aware of what sort of breed he is (he is a toy poodle/french bulldog mix with curly fur). Breed Above needs to work on their communication between staff and customer, and ensure that this sort of thing doesn't happen.
Dana Thompson: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,ValueWe love everyone at A Breed Above. Leslie, Veronica, Lindsey, Keya, Paige, and all of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. My dog Kingston looks forward to doggy daycare, can’t wait to play, and comes home tired and happy! It gives me peace of mind to take him to A Breed Above and know that he is safe and happy!

Arboroads Farm: what do users think?
Nancy Rayburn: Arboroads was recommended to me and i have been taking my dog there the last few years. I love that she makes friends there and is let out unleashed and protected to explore. Chloe loves arboroads and they love her. I won't take her anywhere else. In fact she's there right now! 😊
Alissa Gonzalez: This couple is amazing! They have a true love for animals and are very knowledgeable if you are having issues with your pet. My two little girls ended up with cancer and I had to go out of town. They would get down on the ground and love on them and help encourage them to eat. This is the place I recommend to all of my family and friends!
Stilian Stoev: ARF are very kind people who genuinely love dogs. We have been boarding our dog with them for a decade and never had any issues.
ok ready: I used to work for Arboroads Farm around 25 years ago. Mary is top rate and runs a very tight ship. Dog dishes are washed twice a day, the whole kennel gets bleached down and washed multiple times a week. She's never had kennel cough. Dogs are let out multiple times a day and the runs are cleaned after each use. She loves animals. She is gentle with the dogs when grooming them and always does a professional job. Most of Mary's customers are repeaters and all dogs look forward to coming back. She only feeds high quality food. When I had worked with her, she had already been in business for years. In order to last this long, you've got to do great work in order to succeed.
James Rhodenhiser: Great kennel
Cleo Parker: Really nice facility for a specialty match
Heather James: This place is very friendly and amazing with pets! My doggy was treated very well!
Sean Kelly: Mary is fantastic with our high drive German Shepherd and handicapped Maltese. They care for the dogs very well. They don't socialize them with other dogs outside of their own family members to keep everyone safe. Amenities for the dogs are Spartan but our pups always seem happy when we get them back. Best rates and service we have found in the Ann arbor area. Really good with grooming too. They do not accept credit cards so remember cash or a check book. The one time I forgot they gave me a business card with the amount and told me to mail a check in. We really like this place and trust them with our girls.
Bill Wood: These folks know there doggie boarders! And treat them well during their stays. A great reasonably priced resource where the pets all have individualized attention. As well, their activities and grooming are top notch.
Anthony Oliver: I arrived 20 minutes early to drop my dog off before the place opened and the lady was quite rude about it. I had already driven up from Toledo from work and had to drive all the way to escanaba in the U.P. right after that so I figured she could've maybe been more polite when all she had to do was fill out 6 lines on a piece of paper, put the dog in a cage, and take my money. Not a difficult task if you ask me, I could imagine many worse jobs. I've met 5 year old who run lemonade stands that have a better sense of customer appreciation. After a 4 day stint I picked up my dog. That place smells terrible, I mean really, really bad, like urine. I didn't even see an area that they let the dogs play except some bigger cages right outside, so I question if my dog even got to go out. My dog was covered in deodorant, but wore off quickly and he smelled like stale old cigarettes and urine. He basically smelled like he had been a bar downtown detroit and passed out on the floor for the night. Then when I brought my dog home he seemed like he wanted something, I let him use the bathroom and that was fine, then I fed him and he mounded it down. He ate 6 cups of food on the spot. He normally eats 2 cups a day. I don't even know how many times I refilled his water dish either. So I question how much and frequently they fed him as well.I picked this place because I just moved to the area and it was close. Next time I will be making the 45 minute drive to Pet Ritz again in Brighton. That place is incredible. If I had to compare the two it's would be like a 5 star hotel and a hotel were cockroaches run rampant. I don't know if I am spoiled from previously taking my dog to pet ritz, but it is well worth the drive and the extra $5/day. This place is called arboroads farm because it is basically a farm with a kennel attached ran by a couple of old hippies. If you don't believe my review or think that I'm jaded I welcome you to take this place for a trial run yourself. I have nothing against these people, and I am not some yuppy living in ann arbor. I love my dog and I want him taken care of while I am away is all, if you can't offer that service when I pay for it, then I will complain.

Creature Comforts Bed & Bath: what do users think?
Ale Stevenson: Very disappointed with this place. I took my 3.5 lbs. Yorkie to get groomed and when I pick her up they said she was ready and the only thing they did was nails and trim around her eyes when I requested a Yorkie puppy cut the lady just told me that she never work with small dogs before. Really?!. Pay full price for this service.
Carrie Mell: They are so good with our rescue dogs who need a little extra gentle hand.
lori grover: Sam did an amazing job with a new dog who does not like his paws touched. She peered thru the whole thing! Thank you
Jordan Flowers: Love this place, Samantha and Jessica are amazing groomers. Lynn at the front desk is so helpful and always kind!
Priscilla Freddi: Everybody is very friendly. My dogs love to stay there!
Marc Hedglin: Pooches saw a turkey. Neat
Ford Lake: Great Vet!!! We have trusted them with our pets for over 14 years.
heejin kim: Positive:ReliabilityI’ve boarded my cat here for one week and the staffs were amazing; in addition to feeding and litter cleaning, they offer a 1 hour playtime for 8 bucks a day. My cat seems to have had a good time here! Definitely recommend.
China Green: This was my first time boarding my 2 bunnies. When I came to pick them up, they were completely comfortable, taking a nap. Drop off and pick up were extremely easy. My bunnies were well taken care of; kept separate from the kennels where the dogs would have stressed them out. I would recommend this place to anyone who has bunnies they need boarded!
Jack Crabtree: Always a great 👍 job!!
Cindy Haury: My dog LOVES to come hear. She gets a TON of attention. She practically runs to the door and pulls so hard on her leash, she's actually pulling me along!!
Sue Ward: The facility is very clean, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable about dogs.
JJB: Always awesome and my dogs all love everyone there!
Teresa Roberts: Good quality care
Matt Wenner: I've been taking my dog here for years to get his nails trimmed. Great friendly service.
Marsha Motzkus: I take my dog Oliver to be groomed by Stacy. Oliver loves going there and he looks so handsome when I take him home. Love the staff and clean environment.
Allison Cropsey: I can't sing enough praise for the staff at Creature Comforts! We have a special needs dog and they bend over backwards to make him comfortable. I never thought he would be able to handle being boarded but they recommended starting with short stays (2-4 hours) and build up to overnight stays. We did this over a month and a half before we left him there for 10 days. He has acclimated so well! And they don't mind when I bring in his "suitcase" full of toys, bedding, goodies, and meds. Now I can relax when I'm away because I know that he is in good hands.
Rick Mace: We have been customers there for years for our dogs. The staff has always been very polite and most importantly out animals seem to enjoy their stay. We call the kennel their spa. Hope it stays the same.
Dee Laing: It is dirty and smells.. My dog returned home smelling and with a trim that was frightful for a tune of $45.00. When I asked for someone to fix the groomers work they told me to go somewhere else or return to the same groomer. If they are disrespectful to human beings it is of great concern about how they may treat a defenseless animal My dog was stressed out by this place.Management is arrogant.
C. M. Vitti: I have used this facility twice since 2014 to board my cat. So far, my experience has been very good. They have nice size suites for the cats with a window view. They are $10 more than the crates, but she has a view and more room to move around. Their facility is large and very clean. I will continue to use them.
Yoga Girl: Beware the grooming staff is very mean, rude, and hurtful. After waiting for an appointment I took my dog into them to be groomed. My appt was at 9am and the groomer was not there yet. Another older tall woman started talking to me about my dog. She was talking down to me saying "when was the last time you groomed your dog?". She actually came over and pulled hair out of the hind quarters of my dog and said he would have to be shaved down. My dog was fearful of her after she did that. Then the groomer that was late came in and was like "deers in head lights" listening to the older woman talk about my dog. I left my dog even though my gut told me not to because I waited so long for my scheduled appointment. It was not 10 mins later I received a call and was asked to pick up my dog. That two of them could not pick him up for the tub and that he was to scared. When I arrived the older woman lectured me about how a scared dog is worse than an aggressive dog. I immediately called another groomer and told them how and what happened. They made me an appointment and I have waited until my dog was groomed there before I wrote this review. I went to Groom N Go on Industrial, they have a tub with stairs so your dog can walk right in and they have grooming tables that lower to the floor so that the animals do not have to be picked up. They were so kind and told me that my dog did not need to be shaved and that if he was shaved it would of ruined his coat. They also told me that my dog did great. They did such a good job, my dog looked amazing. So my advice to any one reading this review is beware of Creature Comforts Grooming their vet service is not as bad.
