Kroger: what do users think?
Jeremy Crosmer: This Kroger recently began posting misleading signs which hide the retail price of their items. The "Price with Digital Coupon" is shown in big numbers, but the actual retail price is completely blocked by the black bar sleeve holding the sign. Because of this, I was charged $5 more on my grocery bill than I was expecting. Many customers will not notice and will end up paying much higher grocery bills. I have not seen this kind of misleading practice in other stores, so I felt it was important to share my experience with this store so customers can decide for themselves whether they want to risk being tricked by a sneaky marketing strategy. I will shop there less frequently than before, but if this signage is fixed to display the retail price very clearly, then I will take down this review and continue my normal shopping habits.
Upasana Thakuria: Good grocery store to get all basic essentials, not too fancy just simple
Dave Leland: Found exactly what I was looking for.
Qiling Zou: The produce shelf is always empty… and they seems short-staffed
Brian Kennedy: It's not their fault! The workers are doing their best. Inadequate staff. No checkout help. Kroger is an increasingly worsening experience for the customer and Kroger executives don't seem troubled by that. It's the closest grocery to my house and probably the cheapest but I am looking. The staff is friendly and as helpful as management let's them be.
Bruce Geffen: It's Kroger...corporate grocery through and through. Workers are awesome here!
Nicole Coleman: I was in Kroger last nite(4/1/2023) n there was a man jus in the parking lot walking up on cars wit women only, the man walked up on my car, I go in the store to let them know that there is a man in the parking lot harassing women, I was told that it wasn't their problem. Ladies please be careful when shopping at this location, if something was to happen to you in the parking lot, Kroger isn't gonna help u... I'm very disappointed in the management n employee at this store.....
Mario Sanchez Gumiel: Horrible place. I always struggle finding the groceries I need. The self-checkout is always overcrowded because they close other areas. Many times, the place is not very clean. The staff is most of the times checking their phones or talking. I assume they are not paid well. I could accept these points if prices were low, considering that they do not clean the place very often, they do not get enough groceries, and they do not pay well to the (small) staff. But not. Since the Covid lockdown, they have raised prices. I do think ALDI is much better.
Saurav T: Good place to shop for your daily needs although try to reach by afternoon otherwise a lot of fresh food items are out of stock.
Lea Charlton: Kroger the store is large and well-lit, staff are helpful, and prices tend to be really good.
Basic Joe: I dislike this Kroger so much. The staff is fine it’s the store itself - the store is not run well. Never enough staff, it’s dirty and expensive, they’re ALWAYS out of stuff and it’s check yourself out at all times. No help whatsoever. When I go to Meijer - my bill is half the price and I can find staff if I need assistance. The only reason this store exists is to prey on the North Campus students by overcharging for everything. If you can - go elsewhere, you’ll save more then you spend on transportation, you’ll actually have items on the shelf and staff is available.Kroger is a monopoly now and it’s glaring.
Jack Cawthon: What an absolute dismal excuse for a grocery store. This place seems to get worse every year, with now even longer waits due to only 2 lanes for self check out and perpetually shrinking aisles that you can’t even turn your cart around in. No blame to the workers who I know are trying their best, but the people at the corporate level should be ashamed at how awful this store is. You basically have to budget an hour plus on a weekend to get groceries of any kind.
C E: Doesn't have tap and pay or a way to manually input cards. Also really busy and service is variable. Finally the bathrooms are a complete state of mess not that that's huge but it is annoying.
Ирина Дыкуша: Nice
Michael Steelman: 9 Times out of 10 its worth it to go anywhere else. The selection and quality of produce is the worst in Ann Arbor. The online ordering experience at this specific location is a joke. The store is in total disarray
Brock Lahart: The people are friendly, but they often keep no lanes open other than self checkout. Busch's is very close by and almost always has full service checkout lanes open.
Kevin Osak: I just bought and ate the best apple turnover in my life. It was fresh and delicious. It was Kroger brand. I highly recommend them.
Christina V: The produce section is always completely empty lately and employees are just standing around talking or on their phones. I resent that I have to pay $7 for organic strawberries after sifting through the moldy ones because there’s no regular strawberries or anything. What little produce there might be is dead and sad looking
Bill Arnold: Only go if you have an hour to pick up 2 items. It is all self service, no cashiers. They argue with you about bottle returns, the lazy workers tell you there is no deposit or they dont sell the product without checking and then you have to go get the bottle to prove it, many times over. It is exhausting. I have lived in this neighborhood 25 years and the past 6 months I have watched this Krogers turn into dump. Empty shelves, dead produce, and the organic/health food (minimally processed) section has been eliminated and whats left dispersed through the store so the downgrade isn't so obvious. I shopped here for so long because it was closest and it used to be the best. Now, I guess it is mostly for students and those who are not so particular about the quality of food they eat. Hello Busch's.......
BALAJI RAO D: Excellent.
Paul F: Edit: increasing from 2 to 3 stars because they use awesome Cisco hold music. This location clearly struggles to find enough employees. On a Sunday evening, the produce was mostly empty. Typically the only checkout option is a bay of 6-8 self checkout stations with a decent line. On occasions when I need customer service, it is closed. "Closed" is a good way to describe this store's general approach to customer service. The store location is very convenient for many pedestrians, but I recommend going to one of the other grocery stores in the area for attention and selection.

Kroger: what do users think?
Kelsey M: Not enough staff so everyone has to go through self-checkout with full carts of groceries which you can't fit in the bagging areas. Not a single cashier and the line for checkout is going down the aisle. One of the doors has been broken on and off for months and blocked off. So people who don't drive have to walk through the street because there's no sidewalk to get to the door that's actually open. Often out of hand baskets so you have to go find them at the self-checkout or go across the store to the closed entrance. The produce section is small for a grocery store. Poor selection in most departments. They'll have the exact same item in different 5 different brands but no variety in flavors or offerings. Price tags at times are missing or outdated.
Eileen Fields: Huge with everything you need to make dinner or for a midnight snack! 😁
Larry Berry: I love Kroger! ❤️
Lelee: Worst Kroger I have ever been to. Store manager Brian does not know what he is doing. He refuses to hire any help knowing the store is filthy and dirty. Please do not give this store your business. Go to Meijer!
Marie Barksdale: For a Kroger is, this one is on the small side, but the location can be handy. The staff are friendly, and the store is generally clean. It’s not the best Kroger’s for a large family. Tends bit more towards health food as opposed to bulk food. Very lovely garden and gift shop. This location is very good for smaller and older families/households.If you were looking for more cheap, bulk large, family shopping, the Carpenter location is a good option. (it’s also across from an Aldi’s. So that is even more options to stop and get some bulk stuff for cheap! TBH, I still tend to stick with Kroger’s because I know where everything is and it’s reliably there. But it’s cool to have two options in the same location.)I do want to add that Kroger’s in general are very good at marking gluten-free items which is awesome. They are also very WIC friendly. This location is better than some. FWIW the best location for using WIC is actually the one off Michigan Ave. But it is also a pretty rough area
Kayla: Great that everything was stocked
Dixie Stewart: They need to hire cashier's. The self scan is supposed to be for a few items not full carts 😏
Vanessa Prophete: Worst Krogers I’ve never been to, Staff is not helpful, the assistant manager Cheyenne is very rude. Will not return.
Pierrelynn Prophete: Cheyenne "assistant customer service manager" needs a customer service course right away. This so-called manager was extremely rude and unhelpful. The customer service desk was closed due to being short staffed and apparently I disturbed her on her break because she said without looking at me while walking away "it's closed now and I'm on my break" although Barb (a cashier) was kind and willing to assist me she was not able to assist with money services. As a new resident of Michigan who lives in the immediate area I will never step foot inside this location again as it was a horrible experience. This team member should be reprimanded and should receive a one on one course on customer service and kindness. Thank you for the warm Michigan welcome Kroger. A special thank you to Cheyenne, your days are numbered in that store with such a poor attitude and treatment towards customers. Never again!
William Adams: Returned bottles and only 2 of the 3 were available. All aisles seemed ridiculously small, crowded and compact. I did recieve excellent service and girl scout cookies upon exiting. Bathrooms were clean and parking was reasonable.
Debra Murdock: Let's go Kroger ING that's the motto and Kroger ING we went. Good ppl and helpful large selection of product. I would def go back
Dominique Sarabia: Tim in vegetables was amazing! We saw they had no more shallots and Tim overheard us. He told us to wait while he went into the back to get us fresh shallots. He also gave us more fresh garlic as well. Tim is amazing ❤️
Richard Adler: Many items are usually out of stock or they can't get any. This is true especially if Kroger brand products forcing us to buy the expensive brand of the product
にゃんこ先生: 少しではあるが日本食材が置いてあるお店。豆腐や、冷凍食品、カップ麺などはここで揃う。野菜などは現地の物。ビールなども高いが日本の物を置いてある。
Bruce C: I miss Hiller's!
BALAJI RAO D: Very Good.
Brook Miller: Love this grocery store. It is in a great location and has a good selection of products.
Pick a Username: Whyyyy are kroger bottle returns so garbage?? In general though, how tf is every one of your stores bottle returns dirty and broken?? Meijer doesn't have that issue!! Except i shouldn't have to go to one specific place just to take bottles back. Ridiculous.
Aaron “Magnificent” Mood: Digital cuponsystem is a complete bait and switch scam. It's impossible to use the system unless you follow each step in order, otherwise your order is rug up at full charge.
Mike M.: I love Kroger and miss not having one to shop in down south.
Stefani Kaye: Service Desk never open, they aren't even following their temporary covid hours, how are people supposed to pay their bills? My rent is now 3 days late, with a $30 fee and Kroger Management is to blame. Was told by the skeleton crew of two cashiers working (very hard and trying to cover for their manager) that their manager is on break. We waited to speak to management about why they're so understaffed they don't offer services they legally have to, this is the reason they have liquor licenses and lottery kickbacks from the govnt, TO OFFER THESE services! management never showed face. pathetic. i hope if those two VERY hard working cashiers want a better job, its 18$ an hour over at U of M, no experience needed.

Kroger: what do users think?
Deshawn Loggin: I had the most worst Kroger experience ever at this location I was doing INSTACART at this location and they held me for over a hour in the store because they accused me of stealing they told me the groceries wasn't paid for but I told them the customer pays for the food not me they even tried to rescan the customer food and charge them twice even though the customer paid they made me leave the stuff there
wu hong: U got bullied
Steve Maczko: Went to the store 2 times for the 6 dollar sushi Wednesday. They had no 6 dollar sushi. I also called customer service before arriving the second time and they told me they had 6 dollar sushi. Huge disappointment.!!
Tisha Post: I found everything I went there for. Very clean and organized store. Very friendly and efficient associates.
chetham brazill: Great
MovieCritic1000 Ev: Honestly, this is the better of the Krogers in this area. This always has a large variety of fresh produce, the staff is usually friendly, and this store is cleaner than others. If you need a good Kroger, give the Ann Arbor Road location a try.
Eva Sokler: his is a great Kroger. You can buy nuts and some snacks by the pound. Open.
Diana Wilson: People just aren't friendly @ this Kroger anymore. You spend so much money for groceries now a days you don't get a hello nor a thank you! It may be time to go elsewhere.
Robert Rayner: Largest Krogers I have visited. Yet. It is the best organized and cleanest. All like items are shelved together. Did not get the name of the lady who assisted me but she was completely knowledgeable of the store.
Elizabeth Kastanya: Great products! Terrible bathroom, like war-zone😞 Nasty!
Scott Watson: Buy Avacatos, consistently rotted inside. Less than 50% of any value. From best store to mediocore.
Saffy Fuller: Clerk just watched me spend $150 then needs to see my receipt when I go grab my one bag of ice.Is that something he does to everybody or just people that he thinks look like criminals?
nicole denson-sogbaka: My favorite Kroger! Great employees and selection of fresh produce!
Brenda Jablonski: $10.00 (2) bags of chips, OR $16.00 (8) bags of chips? 1 humans 7.00. $8.00 (2) cheese, OR $18.00 for 6 cheese. $41. Chips, dip, cheese(WHY) Can't wait to Vote on who set this up!!!
Fatima Elchawich: Sabrina and Matthew were so helpful. I had such a great experience at this Kroger and will definitely be returning.
Diane Bach: Stock low, lack of and turnover of personnel. So disappointing. Time for new management?
Justin Reynolds: my momma left me in the car for 5 minutes then some lady started going crazy and got scared
Nakeria Dexter: Curbside is incredibly slow. I waited 40 minutes for my groceries. That is ridiculous. Especially when I’m the only car here. It would have been faster to go in the store and do my own shopping. Never again.
Michael Colasanti: Saturday morning wait for Starbucks was 40 min with only 3 customers ahead of me
rachel walker: The Plymouth Kroger is so stress inducing busy most of the time I hate going in there because I get a panic attack everybody's in the parking lot it's crowded, Never go on Saturday or Sunday or anyday around 2p to 8pm or go at 0630 early or at 9pm they close at 10p fyi if u must take a chill pill and gird your loins or go to Busch's and spend twice as much for a calmer experience your choice for females when Aunt Flow is visiting just go to Busch's it's cheaper than court costs lol 😂

Kroger: what do users think?
V.L: Just not satisfied with last visit to service desk. They keep setting their own hours as to when the service will be open. No set time. Monday may be open to 8pm then the next day open to 5pm. Gas to high to wasting time coming up there just to see they did it again closed early.
J K: All around dump of a place but here’s what absolutely infuriated me: Thursday evening, maybe 6 pm, I go to check out and they DON’T HAVE A SINGLE REGULAR CHECKOUT LANE STAFFED. Your only option is self checkout - which can be a pain any time, but is particularly galling when you have coupons, especially bottle return coupons which you are not allowed to use without an employee.Surprising no one who has ever been to a kroger, all 12 self checkout stations have a flashing light, i.e. they need assistance from an employee. Horrendous experience, which is what we’ve all come to expect from kroger and its subsidiaries
Erick Young: Much like other Kroger stores in the Ann Arbor area, this one suffers from a complete lack of customer oriented employees. If you are looking for a store with smiling faces and well stocked and maintained shelves, look elsewhere.
Bellary Naziruddin.: We can get all groceries vegetables and fruits.. except dress materials..
Rusty (Rusty): Asia in produce is very kind. She helped me find everything I needed. I recommend this Kroger.
Dotty Link: I've been to the meat department several times over the past months, there is a terrible (something died) meat smell in the meet department. Another couple and myself were walking near the meat counter and we just looked at each other in discussed. How can anyone buy meat with a smell that makes you gag? I stopped buying my meat there.Don't the workers in the meat Dept or anyone smell that? 🤢
Eddie Smith: Kroger used to be our preferred grocery store brand, and this particular Kroger used to be our default grocery store. Then during the pandemic, the staff at this particular store messed our pickup orders up repeatedly and they kept promising us a discount on the next order to make up for it. Not once did they ever follow through on those discounts (and believe me, we asked over and over again). And they also continued messing up our pickup orders. As such, we stopped shopping at Kroger stores altogether during the summer of 2020. Since then, we have spent $15,000+ on groceries, but only ~$10 of that was at a Kroger store and it was only because we needed something urgent and Kroger was the only option.
Carrie Mayfield: This Krogers purposely understaffed it's store and expects All customers to use UScan. They have Less employees on purpose. They cry lack of applicants when in fact they make more money if the customer does all the work.I walked out yesterday and will Never go back.Hello Meijer and Aldi
Jessica K: Joe in produce this morning was very kind and helpful. Great customer service!
Matthew Ganga: Pay attention to your receipts. Digital Coupons do not work. When I asked about it they just said oops!! Lol
Michael Crawford: You can not tell how much they are charging you until after you pay. They advertise one price(for card holders)then charge full price. This is not just dishonest, it is criminal.
Marie Barksdale: On the larger side for a Kroger’s, If you were looking for more affordable, bulk large family shopping, the Carpenter location is a good option. As far as Kroger’s go, they tend to have the best selection, and generally speaking, they have the best deals in the area, at least in my opinion.(it’s also across from an Aldi’s. So that is even more options to stop and get some bulk stuff for cheap! TBH, I still tend to stick with Kroger’s because I know where everything is and it’s reliably there. But it’s cool to have two options in the same location.)Now the the section for gift cards and floral arrangements here is not very big. But you can always go to the Arborland location for that. They are very good location for smaller or older families with like a lot of health food and things like that. I don’t tend to shop there, but there are specific things that I will go there for from time to time.My only critique, it said it could be a bit cleaner. But I do understand that the employees work their butts off and management could probably hire a few more people to help them out. The employees are kind though, and generally helpful. The only times they’ve ever seemed less than friendly was when they were obviously very stressed and even then they were polite. (TBH this was when they were understaffed a while back to things have generally been good as of late.)I do want to add that Kroger’s in general are very good at marking gluten-free items which is awesome. They are also very WIC friendly. This location is better than some. FWIW the best location for using WIC is actually the one off Michigan Ave. But it is also a pretty rough area
Andrew Hainen: Can machines almost always full, often don’t work either. More and more items out of stock every week. Broken glass almost always in the parking lot. Far and above the worst checkout lane situation of any grocery store
Tiffany Burroughs: I love shopping at Kroger. Prices are better but could always improve.
big125 jojo: The biggest Kroger I have seen in MI
Zinghlei Vang: The worst manager. I think his name is Bob, i saw him yelling at his employee and told him do better next time if you don’t want to get fire. He looked like he could kill him at that moment. He doesn’t deserve to be a manager. Fire him.
Rachael V.: No real lines open and self checkout that is dated and functions terribly.
Sarah Casper-Tyler: All the produce is wilted and on the verge of being rotten. The smell at the meat counter made my stomach turn. I went across the street to Meijer to get meat and produce. Kroger is really letting itself go. Denise at the checkout was very friendly tho, she is the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of just 1.
christina pauley: The worse Kroger's I have Ever been too.
Hue G. Rection: filthy, literally trash everywhere inside and out. No produce bags on the stands but plenty strewn across the floor. Always shortstaffed due to poor management, prices have almost doubled on some items, daily theft happening, theres no loss prevention in store, the past few years theyve implemented several “anti theft” devices which just inconvenience the 90% of people just trying to pay. Theres never any managers and when you do find one they’re rude and act like helping you is an inconvenience. If you like shopping in chaos and supporting abuse of employees keep coming here! Only a matter of time before the store has a complete re staffing or its shut down.
t almajrabi: Sunday at 10am, missing a lot of fresh vegetables and the bags to put your vegetables or fruits in. Besides Prices here is higher than I thought.

Kroger: what do users think?
Josh Arnold: I was actually born in this Kroger's men's restroom. Took off the fifth star because they never put a plaque on display to commemorate my birth.
Treasure Graves: This is THE WORST STORE EVER I don't understand why they are even open. The people that work there are si mean and rude the cashier's are just plain mean the customer service desk people are worse I had to leave a star to be able to write this otherwise I wouldn't have gave them anything
Tanae Mayberry: Slow service not clean need more lanes open and the customer service counter is never open
Kyrstin Stamper: Please don't apply for Kroger's they won't work with you when it comes to your schedule they don't care to hear about anything your going through an they don't care to hear about your life style
Victoria Maiga: Very limited selections, shelves are always empty, not many fresh produce to choose from. Customer service is a joke!
Jake Bogoski: Bottle machines are almost always broken. Trying to get a manager or an employee to come and help us almost impossible. They will come and restart the machine and the problem will persist. With Kroger being such a large company, you’d think they could replace the bottle machines. Can’t expect them to do that when they obviously can’t even keep their employees busy. Walking around, laughing and chatting while a massive line forms for one bottle return machine that keeps freezing up 2 bottles after they “fixed it” by opening and shutting the control panel. What a joke.
Kathy Nicolai: They were staffed and open at their listed times when the one on Whittaker wasn't. Cashier was pleasant. I managed to get some decent produce, but did poke around for the happiest-looking lettuce.
Edward LaRue: Decent grocery store. Return a lot of bottles and cans here. Good location. Decent hours
Lita Harris: Fresh groceries and good deals, however because I went after 6:30 pm there were several items no longer on shelves including meats
Malik tv: Lady at uscan was verrry rude to me for no apparent reason, It was around 6pm and she was saying stuff to me underneath her breath please correct this I mental issue I could of snap on her luckily I am changing my life and ingore her, this happened Tuesday February 7 2023
David Stephens: I managed to get some decent produce, but did poke around for the happiest-looking lettuce.
Christopher Wright: Good food and service
Shibamouli Lahiri: Amazing and wonderful and simply awesome and simply fantastic
Jon Jones: Plenty of Kroger Vanilla DIET ice cream but hardly ever any REGULAR!!!! Who eats diet ice cream & if you tell me lots of people then why is that ALL YOU'VE GOT????
Ides of March B: I almost broke my leg because the plastic cover for the soap was left on the floor behind the door. Jeez!
Brandi Gimmey: Something needs to change. Every time I go to this kroger store there is aways a problem. Shelves and never full, and when I by bread from there it goes bad in a couple days. And make sure you check dates there are a lot of fridge foods I have bought and there out of date, or go bad fast. The people that work there done seem to care. And why has every other krogers in the state been up graded but this one. It's time for a change. (Its probably why your employees aren't happy)
Tammi M: Older gentleman with the orange face mask is extremely rude. Demanding a cart from a customer who didn't even get a chance to shop saying he had to take it to bring it in. Has a very nasty attitude that my family and I decided to get back in the car and not shop at this location. We went to the Canton location instead.
recie williams: awsome place to work at
James Collins-Jones: Never got any food. Customer service is horrible. Bottle machine always down. Only 3 ppl working at a time. I'll take my business to carpenter road Kroger from now on!! I'm done letting this place inconvenience me. I suggest yo all do the same. THEY ALSO SELL OLD FOOD!!!
Tedduff5 D: They regularly stock expired stuff in the dairy. Noosa yogurt will be a week+ past the date packed out on the shelf like it was just stocked
Margaret Rinehart: I've bought meat that still had hide and hair on it and outdated bags of produce. The store is small and never had enough cashier's. They always want you to use the self scan. I won't go here for big grocery shopping. I go to the Whittaker Rd store which is bigger, cleaner and actually keeps cashier's on staff.
