Brian Kennedy: It's not their fault! The workers are doing their best. Inadequate staff. No checkout help. Kroger is an increasingly worsening experience for the customer and Kroger executives don't seem troubled by that. It's the closest grocery to my house and probably the cheapest but I am looking. The staff is friendly and as helpful as management let's them be.

Ladies please be careful when shopping at this location, if something was to happen to you in the parking lot, Kroger isn't gonna help u... I'm very disappointed in the management n employee at this store.....

Mario Sanchez Gumiel: Horrible place. I always struggle finding the groceries I need. The self-checkout is always overcrowded because they close other areas. Many times, the place is not very clean. The staff is most of the times checking their phones or talking. I assume they are not paid well. I could accept these points if prices were low, considering that they do not clean the place very often, they do not get enough groceries, and they do not pay well to the (small) staff. But not. Since the Covid lockdown, they have raised prices. I do think ALDI is much better.

The only reason this store exists is to prey on the North Campus students by overcharging for everything.If you can - go elsewhere, you’ll save more then you spend on transportation, you’ll actually have items on the shelf and staff is available.Kroger is a monopoly now and it’s glaring.

Jack Cawthon: What an absolute dismal excuse for a grocery store. This place seems to get worse every year, with now even longer waits due to only 2 lanes for self check out and perpetually shrinking aisles that you can’t even turn your cart around in. No blame to the workers who I know are trying their best, but the people at the corporate level should be ashamed at how awful this store is. You basically have to budget an hour plus on a weekend to get groceries of any kind.

C E: Doesn't have tap and pay or a way to manually input cards. Also really busy and service is variable. Finally the bathrooms are a complete state of mess not that that's huge but it is annoying.

I resent that I have to pay $7 for organic strawberries after sifting through the moldy ones because there’s no regular strawberries or anything. Bill Arnold: Only go if you have an hour to pick up 2 items. It is all self service, no cashiers. They argue with you about bottle returns, the lazy workers tell you there is no deposit or they dont sell the product without checking and then you have to go get the bottle to prove it, many times over. It is exhausting. I have lived in this neighborhood 25 years and the past 6 months I have watched this Krogers turn into dump. Empty shelves, dead produce, and the organic/health food (minimally processed) section has been eliminated and whats left dispersed through the store so the downgrade isn't so obvious. I shopped here for so long because it was closest and it used to be the best. Now, I guess it is mostly for students and those who are not so particular about the quality of food they eat. Hello Busch's.......

Paul F: Edit: increasing from 2 to 3 stars because they use awesome Cisco hold music.This location clearly struggles to find enough employees. On a Sunday evening, the produce was mostly empty. Typically the only checkout option is a bay of 6-8 self checkout stations with a decent line. On occasions when I need customer service, it is closed. "Closed" is a good way to describe this store's general approach to customer service.The store location is very convenient for many pedestrians, but I recommend going to one of the other grocery stores in the area for attention and selection.

Marie Barksdale: For a Kroger is, this one is on the small side, but the location can be handy. The staff are friendly, and the store is generally clean. It’s not the best Kroger’s for a large family. Tends bit more towards health food as opposed to bulk food. Very lovely garden and gift shop. This location is very good for smaller and older families/households.If you were looking for more cheap, bulk large, family shopping, the Carpenter location is a good option. (it’s also across from an Aldi’s. So that is even more options to stop and get some bulk stuff for cheap! TBH, I still tend to stick with Kroger’s because I know where everything is and it’s reliably there. But it’s cool to have two options in the same location.)I do want to add that Kroger’s in general are very good at marking gluten-free items which is awesome.They are also very WIC friendly. This location is better than some. FWIW the best location for using WIC is actually the one off Michigan Ave. But it is also a pretty rough area

Pierrelynn Prophete: Cheyenne "assistant customer service manager" needs a customer service course right away. This so-called manager was extremely rude and unhelpful. The customer service desk was closed due to being short staffed and apparently I disturbed her on her break because she said without looking at me while walking away "it's closed now and I'm on my break" although Barb (a cashier) was kind and willing to assist me she was not able to assist with money services. As a new resident of Michigan who lives in the immediate area I will never step foot inside this location again as it was a horrible experience. This team member should be reprimanded and should receive a one on one course on customer service and kindness. Thank you for the warm Michigan welcome Kroger. A special thank you to Cheyenne, your days are numbered in that store with such a poor attitude and treatment towards customers. Never again!

William Adams: Returned bottles and only 2 of the 3 were available. All aisles seemed ridiculously small, crowded and compact. I did recieve excellent service and girl scout cookies upon exiting. Bathrooms were clean and parking was reasonable.

We waited to speak to management about why they're so understaffed they don't offer services they legally have to, this is the reason they have liquor licenses and lottery kickbacks from the govnt, TO OFFER THESE services! management never showed face. pathetic. i hope if those two VERY hard working cashiers want a better job, its 18$ an hour over at U of M, no experience needed.

J K: All around dump of a place but here’s what absolutely infuriated me: Thursday evening, maybe 6 pm, I go to check out and they DON’T HAVE A SINGLE REGULAR CHECKOUT LANE STAFFED. Your only option is self checkout - which can be a pain any time, but is particularly galling when you have coupons, especially bottle return coupons which you are not allowed to use without an employee.Surprising no one who has ever been to a kroger, all 12 self checkout stations have a flashing light, i.e. they need assistance from an employee. Horrendous experience, which is what we’ve all come to expect from kroger and its subsidiaries

Dotty Link: I've been to the meat department several times over the past months, there is a terrible (something died) meat smell in the meet department. Another couple and myself were walking near the meat counter and we just looked at each other in discussed. How can anyone buy meat with a smell that makes you gag? I stopped buying my meat there.Don't the workers in the meat Dept or anyone smell that? 🤢

Eddie Smith: Kroger used to be our preferred grocery store brand, and this particular Kroger used to be our default grocery store. Then during the pandemic, the staff at this particular store messed our pickup orders up repeatedly and they kept promising us a discount on the next order to make up for it. Not once did they ever follow through on those discounts (and believe me, we asked over and over again). And they also continued messing up our pickup orders. As such, we stopped shopping at Kroger stores altogether during the summer of 2020. Since then, we have spent $15,000+ on groceries, but only ~$10 of that was at a Kroger store and it was only because we needed something urgent and Kroger was the only option.

But I do understand that the employees work their butts off and management could probably hire a few more people to help them out. The employees are kind though, and generally helpful. The only times they’ve ever seemed less than friendly was when they were obviously very stressed and even then they were polite. Hue G. Rection: filthy, literally trash everywhere inside and out. No produce bags on the stands but plenty strewn across the floor. Always shortstaffed due to poor management, prices have almost doubled on some items, daily theft happening, theres no loss prevention in store, the past few years theyve implemented several “anti theft” devices which just inconvenience the 90% of people just trying to pay. Theres never any managers and when you do find one they’re rude and act like helping you is an inconvenience. If you like shopping in chaos and supporting abuse of employees keep coming here! Only a matter of time before the store has a complete re staffing or its shut down.

Jake Bogoski: Bottle machines are almost always broken. Trying to get a manager or an employee to come and help us almost impossible. They will come and restart the machine and the problem will persist. With Kroger being such a large company, you’d think they could replace the bottle machines. Can’t expect them to do that when they obviously can’t even keep their employees busy. Walking around, laughing and chatting while a massive line forms for one bottle return machine that keeps freezing up 2 bottles after they “fixed it” by opening and shutting the control panel. What a joke.

And make sure you check dates there are a lot of fridge foods I have bought and there out of date, or go bad fast. The people that work there done seem to care. And why has every other krogers in the state been up graded but this one. It's time for a change. (Its probably why your employees aren't happy)

Margaret Rinehart: I've bought meat that still had hide and hair on it and outdated bags of produce. The store is small and never had enough cashier's. They always want you to use the self scan. I won't go here for big grocery shopping. I go to the Whittaker Rd store which is bigger, cleaner and actually keeps cashier's on staff.
