Bradley Hochrein: We contacted several companies about finishing a stacked stone wall project that we started as a family during Covid. Our son put his heart and soul into building the first tier of the wall, making it his Summer project. All of the companies we contacted except for Lotus wanted to replace the wall with less interesting products. We had already invested in the thin Canadian Flagstone and the Lotus team listened to our story and suggested keeping the wall and finishing the job in a professional and beautiful way. They also had us add some large limestone to make the second wall we needed more cost effective. The team loved the work and were enthusiastic and artistic. We couldn't be more happy to have found a company that actually cared about our story, our son's work and were flexible and creative enough to make it all come together in a great way! While creating beautiful work and taking time to pay attention to the truly minute details, each member on the crew is trained with a set of versatile skills, some individuals being masters in their area. As far as the insider look, the back end of the company is intuitive and responsive. When problems are brought up, the company isn't too large to solve them without urgent expedience, and not too small that problems would be ignored. The receptivity is notable, and the people are genuine. Knowledge means a lot to this company, trainings on safety and culture are often and a constant flow of information to avoid miscommunication is very much apparent. Mark white: When there are heavy rains we have strong flow of water through our back yard from the NE, around the SE back corner and along S side of the house out to the street (Newport). Due to poor decisions by builders of room additions added to house by previous owners there was water getting into two back rooms when there were very heavy rain events. We decided to have Lotus Landscapes do work to redirect water away from the house and provide some barrier to any water that still reached wall of room on NE corner of the house. Traven explained his and Lotus' experience with dealing with water drainage. He provided a well reasoned proposal for redirecting ground water pressure away from the house and allowing it to follow natural routes to the street. The Lotus team worked diligently in very cold and wet weather to complete the job. Traven, Ben and Steve kept us updated on work being done and were receptive to answering our questions, addressing our concerns and being flexible to our requests for some adjustments during installation of uniqueFrench Drain and paver brick patio. Greg Strine: Despite it's flaws, if I were to do it all over again I'd still work here to get my start in the world of the green industry. They often push their crews to go harder/better/faster/stronger, occasionally to the point of exhaustion, but it's also with the guarantee you'll be a stronger person & better gardener because of it, and that's delivered. They're not about to low ball a quote, but occasionally they'll donate an entire job to a worthy place in the local community and were paying their employees a respectable, livable starting wage years before the current labor crunch started, also with a clear path forward where further training & experience leads to raises, something a lot of other companies could learn from. Sure, there's some drama, there's some tension, but there's also a small army of people at Lotus with a vast reservoir of horticultural knowledge, great people more than willing to help your garden thrive, your hard-scape come together, your trees maintain their health, and in my case, a young person find their way. I didn't leave how I planned to, but ultimately that's on me and I hope everyone I knew there continues to thrive while making southeast Michigan even more beautiful than it already is.

I have a very diserning eye for all things landscape and the quality of the work they perform is at a very high level and their artistic expression and creativity is out of bounds! Their staff are truly artisans and craftsmen. I also get the impression they are just fun to work with whether you are a client, vendor or team member. I know they are priced at the higher end of the market but, but I am sure their value proposition is very strong when you consider what they are providing. I love the way they incorporated more natural materials to meet my yard’s aesthetic. The crews are highly skilled and pay great attention to details (you can even tell they carefully chose rock patterns and placements). She gave me the option to go with her to a nursery to choose some of the key plantings, and she was so flexible as we had to make on-the-fly design changes on the project.
