Mans Lumber: what do users think?
Timothy Woods: I have used Mans for about 24 years.they are helpful and have quality materials. Today I stopped for the first time at the Ann Arbor location. They had just what I needed. They encouraged me to go in the back and familiarize myself with the type of products they keep at the Ann ArborLocation. I was quite impressed not only with what was available there but with the the kindness of all the employees as well.
Chris Lavedas: Friendly people but limited inventory.
KiLLeR-_- MikE: Very friendly staff
Joshiwa Sigers: Their driver almost took out our bumper twice, took out two construction cones at an active construction site and was swerving in the lanes in opposing traffic all behind my vehicle on the way to take my infant to his appointment. I wouldn't trust their work if they are endangering people on the way to a job. I was even able to get pictures of the driver and his vehicle.
Ben Peters: We used Mans for all our construction lumber for our new house. We also used them to source and install ~ 950 square feet of white oak flooring. The quality of the hardwood and installation was OUTSTANDING. The installers were prompt, polite, and extremely professional. We had a different company come out and do the final sand/stain due to scheduling challenges, but even they raved extensively about how great the hardwood installation job had been done.We are absolutely satisfied with the job they did, I could not recommend them enough for hardwood floor installation!
Dylan Couch: Great local shop for some lumber and trim needs!
Randy J: Needed some cedar boards, they had what I was looking for. They even cut a 16 foot piece to assist since they were out of the 8 foot piece I needed. Great staff and very helpful.
Ann Hanson: Mans Lumber Ann Arbor employees continuing great tradition of Fingerle Lumber service.

Stadium Hardware Inc.: what do users think?
Celina Dusseau: Stadium hardware is just an absolutely top notch business with a top notch team. I went in for a few parts to repair some old rollerblades, and found not only what I needed but an incredible team to help me find the creative solution required to repair them right then and there!! Chris was immensely helpful and thoughtful in finding the right solution for my problem, and one other gentleman was also very helpful the first time I stopped in (but didn’t catch his name)! The team takes their time, is truly full of expertise and cares for their customers needs and interest. Thank you so much again!
Mark Erichson: As always... Super-knowledgable and -helpful staff. And they had what I needed. I love this place.
Rich Fein: Awesome store with awesome people. I came in with an oddball, antiquated valve for a toilet shut off. It needed new washers, one of which was unlike anything I'd ever seen. From their extensive inventory of parts, they found one that we were hoping would fit. And indeed when I reinstalled the valve, it worked. Thank you guys!
J. C.: Excellent variety with top notch knowledgeable personnel. Jim is a good example.
Thomas Deren: My favorite hardware store! Everything you need with such a friendly atmosphere and helpful people everywhere! My family's go-to for keys, they take the time to make sure they work smooth as can be.
Ben Caldwell: Favorite hardware. Everything you need and a super helpful staff.
Paul Bellefleur: Best hardware store I've ever been in.
Haleh Olsen: This place makes you feel like you have stepped back in time. A fully stocked store with superstar customer service. From potting soil to nail guns, they have everything you are looking for and more.Always outstanding service and truly a gem in the Ann Arbor community.
Chris Grant: They always have a helpful answer to my problems. Top notch staff, fast checkout, and I think it is now employee-owned.
Maxine Mercier: I've come to this location on a recommendation, and everyone I have interactions with is friendly, helpful, and easy to get help from. The store has anything you need.
R McFarland: Nice place shop. Friendly too.
Kato Hornet: Hands down where I am going for anything I need in the future. Staff here is the most helpful I have ever had.A man name Brian ( I have been informed he is a part owner and certified) helped me find the part i needed in seconds over the phone. I had been to 4 different stores with it out of stock at every location. 10/10
My Old House Fix: THE best Hardware Store in Ann Arbor for ALL your Old House needs! They seriously have everything! 👍
David Russell: This place is a true gem. Helpful and knowledgeable- this is my preferred hardware store!!!!
Jeff Xu: I’ve been shopping here for more than a decade, and they still have some of the best and friendliest employees around town. Everyone is ready to answer any questions you have and take you to exactly what you’re looking for, at a competitive price. They’re focused more towards specific house needs and of course hardware, you won’t find some items that the larger box stores would carry but it’s always good to come here first! Conversely they also carry hardware and material stock that those larger stores don’t carry or have limited selection of.
Michael Tullis: Lots of staff, very helpful staff. That seems rare at competing hardware stores. Their inventory is excellent too!
Joseph Taylor: Always someone available to help. For the money this is the best place to go. You won't save much going to home Depot and will spend 10 times The time looking for what you want.
Donald Adiska: I love this place, great advice and lots in stock.
Rick Rick: We live on the other side of town, and don't shop over there often. Woke up to a cold house with a failed furnace igniter. Figured out the part, no one local (and open on a Saturday) had the part, including the big box stores - except for Stadium Hardware. Very competitive price too. Brian confirmed it was in stock, so headed over. He open the box and examined the igniter before selling it to me. I bought two, and proactively replaced the other furnace's igniter at the same time since it was 12 years old. Highly recommend Stadium Hardware - they carry parts other hardware stores don't.
Katherine Opsommer: Great service. I would rather go to Stadium Hardwareany day. I get to talk to staff who are knowledgeable and helpful. Rather than go to a big box Hardware stores just to get lost and not find what I need.
brooke szilagyi: Truly a local, customer-focused gem! Helpful, informative, quick service. Thank you!

B&B Heartwoods, Inc.: what do users think?
Jacob Holda: I have bought rough cut walnut and planed cherry wood pieces here. They have a great selection of materials, fair prices and they take the time to explain the process which is helpful for myself as an amateur woodworker. I definitely plan to come back in the future for wood for new projects! The shop and wood storage area is incredibly organized and clean which I believe is sign of someone who really takes pride in their work and that has been my experience with B & B!
Will Marchand: A genuine local business that’s been around for decades. Bill set me loose in his barn of exceptional stock where I was able to take my time and poke around for the exact pieces I needed for my project. A woodworkers dream selection with a great shop for millwork. What more could you want.
Matthew Williams: Great place. Really cool shop and great wood selection.
Pete Mills: Great selection and friendly, knowledgeable people.
Norman Johnston: Great people Nice selection of hardwood. They can also do custom woodwork
Joy Gosse: Ordered a custom maple butcher block countertop from them and I could not be happier with the turn out. You can tell the piece was made with pride.A lot of the communication was done through email with Bonnie. I told her exactly what I wanted, she answered any questions I had, and noted any modifications. When my product was finished, she emailed and called me to let me know. I was able to pick it up the next day. Upon arrival I was very impressed with their set up and they were even following mask protocol because of Covid. Bonnie showed me to the office to pay my invoice and then Bill helped me load up my SUV.If you are in need of any type of woodwork I highly recommend B&B Heartwoods! They really know what they are doing and I promise they will not disappoint.
Ann Arbor Hardwoods LLC: I have worked with Bill and Bonnie for years they are amazing they have great prices and are super reliable, great customer service and always have what I need.
kirk drews: They are very friendly and have answered all of my questions. Nice people.
Bill Bouse: Great service and product. From the first phone call to the delivery of the mantle both my wife and I were amazed. When we picked up the mantle, went into the cleanest workshop I have ever been in. Great place to get a special piece of wood.
Troy Stein: They have the heart (and patience) to care about the amateur & the experience to match the needs of the professional. Their explanations are easy and inviting and their selection is outstanding. I got a beautiful peice of walnut for $25.
David turowski: Owner are great, excellent workmanship.
Jared Gleason: Very friendly owner who is knowledgeable and has reasonable prices.
Michael Mitchell: Bill was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. It is very relaxing walking through a two story barn checking out what they have in stock. Multiple species cut to different widths and thicknesses. They even have a few stacks of smaller boards which is what I dug into. I'll definitely be back.
Ethan Lube: He is an expert and super helpful in all things wood.
Mark Pappas: Awesome place. Great wood. He was super nice & helpful. I will be going back
Randy Hermann: Great selection, prices, and people. Well worth the trip if you need better wood than you can find at any box store. B&B Heartwoods has a much larger and broader selection than is available at the Ann Arbor ReUse store or any other local supplier. Rough lumber, slabs, barn beams and finished lumber available. They stock all of the usual domestic woods (red and white oak, hard and soft maple, birch, beech, cherry, walnut, osage orange, etc.) as well as some imports/exotics like mahogany but I would call ahead for anything special. I was told custom milling etc. is available and, depending on the schedule, can be done in a few days.
Jonathan: They should charge for the smells alone. If you like wood, this is the place.
James Roush: They have a great selection and a the people are really nice and give fair prices
Nick White: Bill dressed up some rough-sawn hardwoods I obtained from a neighbor to build furniture. He did a great job, quickly, and for a reasonable price.
Chris Conlin: I've been working with Bill for about a year on several projects and I've found him to be terrific to work with. He has great experience, a very clean shop room and he's a nice guy. He also doesn't hesitate to say "no" to projects that he believe someone else can do better. Very honest and fair prices. Busy as well so see him as far in advance of your project as possible.
James Jackson: Got a hickory timber cut there for my fire place mantle, been loving it ever since.

Michigan Reclaimed Barns & Lumber: what do users think?
Jaren Tigani: Definitely coming back.Super helpful and professional. An amazing stock of beautiful reclaimed wood. Jim helped us pick out the wood we were looking for and even cut it for us when we didn’t have access to a saw.Very easy transaction and friendly service. Great experience!
Susan Knipper: Jim was great to work with. He helped us select the perfect beams for our fireplace mantle. Installed, they add great character and texture to our new construction home. Thanks Jim!
Hannah Coccia: We wanted a piece of reclaimed barnwood for our fireplace mantel, and Jim was wonderful throughout the entire process. He walked us through several options and pieces, knew the history about where his pieces came from, and created a beautiful piece for our new home. Thanks Jim!
Michael Carry: Jim located a beautiful barn timber for our fireplace, cut it to fit, also cut four corbels for supports. Excellent work, very nice doing business with Jim, so, thank you, sir.
Dan Degener: Wow what a selection of amazing wood!! You’ll find something for any special project. Very knowledgeable and passionate about reclaimed wood.
Shaun Whitehouse: I am working on a personal project and Jim was extremely helpful land had some great ideas. He knew my budget and worked with me to find the right pieces.
K Sulkey: We were looking for a nice piece of wood with history for our mantle and Jim from Michigan Reclaimed delivered. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly through the entire process. We are extreme happy with our purchase!
Tatiana Mason: I am an avid book reader and wanted a bookshelf for all of my copies. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted, however Jim patiently worked with me to come up with a great look! Would recommend! Hoping to purchase from them again soon :)
E Meds: Just happened to fall upon this listing. Just seeing how beautifully and sweet Jim replied to one of his 3 star reviews convinced me even more that he would definitely be a great person to deal and learn from. His response was exemplary of how to deal with frustrated customers or clientele. 5 stars my man!
Julie Karl: From first contact, Jim wanted to make sure I got what I wanted. He listened to my idea, provided suggestions and options, and took the time to really think about what would work for me. And, to make sure I was happy. I am very pleased with the outcome. I am glad I was able to hear the story behind the wood and glean some knowledge from an experienced craftsman/artisan. Very personable and helpful.
Paula Stafford: We picked out a color and type with Jim. The beams were supposed to be brown with slight weathering ok. Hand hewn. He claimed we couldn’t pick the beams ourselves, he would have to go to multiple locations and get them.Jim did get them pulled together quickly when our builder changed course and said we needed them right away, however, they were picked up in the rain and not easily inspected. Two of the beams had termite damage and one was in bad shape. 5 of seven have some or extensive paint on them. I contacted Jim to see what could be done about these problems and he never got back to me. $4k is a lot to spend to have falling apart beams. 😖
Joseph Farkash: I came to Jim with an idea that I wanted to build some furniture using barn wood. He was awesomely helpful! He took his time to show me different wood style options, talked me through some alternatives when looking at my budget, and ultimately helped me out a ton when I realized I was one piece short to complete my project! Furniture turned out great because of the high quality and authentic barn wood from this place. The wood is the real deal, and so is Jim. Highly recommended!
Ian Berk (Waylau): Excellent selection of quality reclaimed wood and lumber. The wood is in phenomenal condition which is something that has been hard to find with other companies. I continue to go back to work with Jim for all of my reclaimed barn wood needs.

Carpenter Bros Hardware & Rental: what do users think?
J: Some very helpful and knowledgable people working here. Came in looking for a specific item and asked about it as soon as I came in, and was promptly given detailed instructions on where to find it. Few minutes later, the associate who told me where to find the item also came to ask me if I had any questions using it and offered helpful tips. Will definitely consider this place first when looking for any hardware or household needs. They are well stocked and have a larger variety of items than I would have initially expected based on the size and location of the store!
BANDAR S: Locally owned hardware store. Been here multiple times and they're helpful. They give you the family feel. I recommend trying them. Better than corporate big box stores.
BJ Sullivan: Great service, well supplied, terrific stocking, well organized, knowledgeable and helpful staff. They're terrific! BJS
David Kwong: Nice friendly place, helped me find nut for my car, saved $ over dealer price
Ed Boucher: The store has a huge inventory and the staff is always helpful. Really like this hardware store.
Chad Jeffery: Drove half hour for part they said they had on the phone, they did not have it. Waste of time.
EKK: Very good service from staff. Just ask them anything you need.
Andy B: Well stocked, traditional neighborhood hardware store with knowledgeable staff to help you find what you need. It is large by traditional standards and has a much better selection of small items than a large home and garden type store but in a tiny fraction of the space. In many trips to this store I've never left without what I needed.
Eddie Godin: Great staff, super helpful.
Brian J. Trim: Quality products with quality service; providing surrounding neighborhoods and Ann Arbor with reliable care for decades!
Stephen Smith: Great independent hardware store in A2
Veronica Bullard: Follow me for more local reviewsPrompt, friendly service, they have plenty of inventory depending on what you wantThey have reasonable prices in a friendly neighborhood setting, no need to drive across town to get supplies
Laura Garvey: Good customer service
Paul Bullion: Saturday at noon these guys repaired a brass tub overflow fitting, drilled out and retapped the fitting so i could reattach a nice new chrome stopper handle....so cool old school repairs while you wait.
Vazir Fatehi: My go to hardware store, had everything I need for fixing stuff and conveniently located on the Northside in Ann Arbor.
J Cav: They have a lot of everything, from "Honey-Do list guy" all the way to "Professionals" such as televisions ownr. Bob Villa but.. most of their staff are rude so that turns me off.
Phoebe Adams: I’ve never had any success with this store unlike Stadium. Zinnia seeds didn’t grow, was sold the wrong hardware for a hose, washer filter worthless. Sorry I cannot return there as it was convenient
Scott Killoran: Staff here is amazing. Very helpful. Tons of cool hardware things
Ulysses Balis: Great local, family-owned hardware shop. They have a huge selection of useful household maintenance items.
Elmer Bisler: There's nothing to compare to a local hardware store. Always has what you need.
Candace Winslow: Very hardworking, honest, knowledgeable. Best place to rent small or big equipment from tule cutter to wood-splitter, chipper.

Ace Barnes Hardware Inc: what do users think?
Wilson Cardona: Excelente
Nick Sacco: Steve is great helped me register my new leaf blower and we did a test run
Portie Arawak: There were about 3 employees that saw when I entered but no greeting nor smile. Fine. I stood in an aisle looking on items and saw about 2 different employees pass by several times and one even stood right beside me, observing me and pretending to move things around, for about 2 minutes and didn't once ask if I needed help. I left the store as I felt uncomfortable and can't help but wonder to this day why was I being watched so closely. Those employees did not seem to be people that respect EVERYONE'S civil rights.
Bill Mccreadie: So may treasures to tempt you
Alyssa: Friendly/helpful staff. I come here regularly for household items. Very nice specialty appliances. So many great finds here and at a great price! Sometimes, they grill outside for customers. Sarah and Steve made me an awesome corn fritter last time!
Peggy Hayes: This store is top notch. And they are so helpful. Shopping there is a wonderful experience.
Eric McGlohon: Great hardware store! Also highly recommend all of their kitchen supplies
Christian Rinna: Lots of stuff not specific to hardware also household goods nic nacks etc!!! Lots of employees to help.
Bruce Geffen: So much to choose from.
Gregory Turnipseed: Everything I need
Finnbarr Conroy-Martin: Good store
Shell Bell: Extremely helpful & polite employees who actually know what they are doing or find help for your needs! It's out of my way to drive there sometimes, but worth it every single time.I would highly recommend the location on Stadium for all of your needs!
Patrick Hoey: Full disclosure, this business is owned and operated by a family member—and they don’t need any help from a little review of mine, but go to any other Ace Hardware and then try to compare it to Ace Barnes Hardware—you can’t, it’s a standard-bearer for stores that sell everything a family may need for their home and has a great selection of products and high-quality tool brands!
Matt Cyrulnik: Great place for HomeGoods and kitchen stuff.
David Dugger: Euphemistically, and somewhat politically incorrect, it’s often referred to as the woman’s hardware store. Why? They have an exceptional selection of high-end cookware, kitchen wares, kitchen gadgetry etc. not necessarily a woman’s thing it’s an everybody’s thing but if you’re looking for high-quality kitchen, products and hardware, you can’t beat this place
Jolene Heiney: John waited on me....What a sweet, kind man...I just Love this store!
Gary Heitman: Most helpful people ever. Didn't have it at one store, called the other and saved me the last one there.
Patrick Meyer: Ace has been solid. The people arr nice and friendly. I had a service issue with my stihl weed Wacker and they made it right
Zach Wilkinson: Had the item I needed when others didn't.Conveniently located.
marc: Big store, helpful staff.
Nick Elslager: Great products and cool kitchenware but I’m about done going there. I’ve spent so much money here and it’s just not worth the disrespect. Every time I speak to Mike, he is a grumpy, unhelpful person. He always has an attitude and multiple people I know will not go there because of him. He talks down to you and is very unpleasant/ sassy. The rest of the staff is usually very helpful. Go to stadium hardware if you want friendly, knowledgeable people, go there.

Carter Lumber: what do users think?
Cora Fox: I have to commend the gentleman that took care of me today. I am a week away from having my hip replaced so I am not walking very well. I just needed a sheet of subflooring and needed it cut. Over the phone I was told $60 for delivery, so I was just going to load it in my trunk since I live just a couple miles away. Well this gentleman went above and beyond, he got it cut, loaded it in his truck and followed me home and brought it up to my deck...and then wouldn't even accept a tip for doing that. Exceptional service and I will definitely go there again when I need any lumber supplies!!
Ryan R: Carter lumber has a helpful team. Competitive prices. Support your local businesses.
Joe Cassell: Waited for and watched a couple other people enter the store , place their order and buy the material they needed. I placed my order and waited for guy at counter to get everything entered....another guy walked up and wanted me to leave the store because I didn't have a mask on. None of the others they helped before me did either. Unfortunate. I would have potentially purchased ALOT of lumber from them.
Dude: Marty Drum from ypsilanti location was very professional and on point with every step of the process. Carter lumber did everything to my terms and delivered my lumber package in sections, they just didn't drop everything off and was done with me . From lumber to window screens, I'm very pleased with Carter lumber thanks again Marty you made it easy !
mark Thomas: Bought a door from the Waterford location and it was a custom size door. told them the day I was going to pick up the door, got there and they told me that they threw the door that I paid for in the TRASH!!! horrible customer service, they told me that they can reorder my door and I told them that I need it in two days they said its gonna take four weeks. so I left with my money back and pissed. no help!
Wes Kalusha: Excellent service
Stacey Blue: I don't even know how this store is still in business.I called 3 weeks ago trying to get some pricing on a list of supplies to finish my basement. The gentlemen told me that he could help me no problem, advised me to send some photosof the existing doors and trim so that he match it. I sent a long list of supplies that I needed nearly 2 weeks ago! I called today because I NEVER heard back from anyone and he tells me that he will TRY to get it done by the end of the week! How busy can you be? I will NEVER use this company and don't' waste your time calling.
Fadi Elawar: I would never do business when them. I got refered to them by a contractor, I talked to Mike and gave him my garage plan. He put together a list of materials for me. He called me the next day and I told him i was going to review the price i got from him with the quote i got from Home Depot earlier in the week. Mike proceeded to say that he was wasting his time with me. Really!!! No Mike unfortunately I wasted my time with you. I will ijust order my $7,500 order from Home Depot where they treat their customers with respect.
