Green House Montessori School Ann Arbor: what do users think?
Umair Syed: This is hands down the best nursery and Montessori in all of Ann Arbor. I have three kids and I have always been a fan of the Montessori learning daycare system but this place just blew me away. They are incredibly caring extremely communicative and really take care of the children like they are their own kids. I rarely ever write a review but this place really warranted it and they are truly deserving of five stars. I wish I could give them six stars. Amazing Montessori daycare.
Donna M: My daughter attended preschool here and loved it. I am happy I sent her here. She has learned so much while she was there. Thank you Green House Montessori.
Jillian Brown: Like most parents, we thought long and hard about what kind of daycare we wanted to send our one-year-old to; Green House affirmed that Montessori was the right choice for us. During her time at Green House, we saw her grow and learn so much from Mr. Raj and his staff. She started sitting cross-legged, in a chair by herself, understanding communication, and so many other skills. She so clearly enjoyed being at Green House and playing with the other students. For example, Mr. Raj said she would often crawl over to the older kids, who would then kindly play with and include her. This reflects the culture and vibe that Mr. Raj creates at Green House, where every child is welcome and sweet to one another.Lastly, Mr. Raj was more than accommodating to our family during a unique time that led us to transitioning away from Green House; we appreciate him being flexible and amenable to our situation, even though it wasn't always easy. He has a big heart, and it shows in how he cares for the kids and their families.
Meghan Olds: My daughter and son attended Green House Montessori for over 3 years. We love the staff especially Mr. Raj. Mr. Raj is very organized and has the biggest heart. He is always so thoughtful and generous. Both of my kids are now in elementary school and were well prepared in reading and math. They learned to love learning and gained so many creative skills while at this Montessori school.
Dattatreya M: We loved it for our twins who attended the school for about 1.5 years. We moved out of Ann Arbor which is why we had to discontinue. The teachers are very loving and caring and our kids still remember them after about 6 months of leaving. Mr. Raj is also very loving and considerate, he would always be smiling and understanding of us. They have a nice daily schedule where kids go on a walk outside and play outdoors (weather permitting, of course). The regular school trips were also great learning experiences for children, they even went for apple picking once and were super excited about it even after months. My kids were always happy to go to school and rarely did we have a tantrum in the morning. And I always picked them up happy and eager to come back which was very satisfying for us as well. I wish we could be there longer!
sarath vellani: My toddler spent a few months here. My experience was very good. Mr. Raj and Miss Janet and her team were very caring and helped my kid in every way. The kids get to do various activities during the day. They have various field trips which are also very good. Also the kids have a good summer activities too. The rates are very reasonable for a montessori in Ann Arbor area.My kid enjoyed going to the Montessori.
Dheeraj Khare: Our son attended Green House Montessori for about 2 years and we had a great experience. They have wonderful staff and Mr Raj would go above and beyond to cater to children's needs. When the Ann Arbor public schools close on snow days, Green House Montessori remained open (as long as the staff can make it). The field trips are awesome. Our son really enjoyed the Spanish language program and made a lot of friends, whom he misses dearly upon our relocation!
Allison Crews: We loved Green House Montessori and the experiences both of our children had there. We had two children attend 4 year old preschool at Green House. I loved how the teachers really learned about my child and worked with them at their particular stage of development. One of my children is particularly driven and he didn't encounter some of the work he did in preschool until he got to 1st grade! Both of my kids were well prepared for Kindergarten and were both reading by halfway through preschool. The teachers were extremely engaged and really seemed to care about our kids. My eldest often wanted to go back and visit when his sister was in preschool. Our kids made great friends and really blossomed. Thank you Green House!
Jerome Huez (The Loft Warehouse): One cannot talk about Greenhouse Montessori without talking about Mr. Raj. He is the heart and soul of this little Montessori school. He makes it feel like a family, stays late we we are stuck on the road due to traffic, gives treats to the kids when they feel sad. He has become an extended family member whom you can count on.As always, the Montessori method promotes clam, respect and a kind learning environment that our daughter cherishes.
Saucy_ Fresh: Our daughter was enrolled in Greenhouse Montessori for 4 years. We found the Director and teachers to be accommodating, warm, and good teachers. It was obvious to us that they care a lot about the students. Our daughter learned a lot, made many strong bonds with the teachers and friends, and thinks often of the family she made while at her home away from home. It really is a family environment at the school. No school is perfect, but I can vouch that the teachers, director really do care about the students emotional and academic well being.
Jhoja Millán: Green House Montessori is a great place where children learn from each other being unique. Inclusion and diversity is a super plus of this School. My son Gabriel has Down Syndrome and he was treated with respect, love and integrity. The School always encouraged us on keep working always in a positive way! Mr. Raj is a very gentle human being that always care for his students. My son always found comfort in him. The school environment feels so homy :). Miss Janet was Gabo's teacher, she always cared about him with a loving approach. We will miss this place. Thanks for everything :)
Doreen I: All my three kids have gone through Greenhouse Montessori. I am so happy I took my then two children out of home-daycare and put them in this quaint little school - class sizes are small, but large enough to have great dynamics, and my children get individual care and attention. I wish I had found this school earlier! My children have learned so much, and bloomed under the guidance and exceptionally great teaching of (specifically) Ms. Janet and Ms. Andrea. And I cannot say enough good of the manager, Mr. Raj - he is a very, very kind, gentleman who looks out for the best interests of his students and parents. He frequently takes photos and videos of all children as he is sensitive that many parents would love to see more of the achievements of their children - plus Mr. Raj is genuinely happy with each students' progress. Greenhouse Montessori takes students to both in-house and outside field trips which is so exciting for the children. Both my husband and I, and extended family, also very much enjoy the children's performances that are organized during holidays. Our family has had such good, enriching experiences at Greenhouse Montessori. We are all very happy, and will keep in contact with teachers and Mr. Raj for many years after we leave.

Fetna Smida: This was my daughter's first experience with daycare and I must say it was a great one. We started with half day and it was hard for her to let me go first week but after that she was really happy going there and always looking forward to meet the teachers Allison, Sumi and Brianna.

Daycroft Montessori School: what do users think?
Dave Lee: Our boys love going to school and have thrived at Daycroft School. The teachers are the best we have had and know our children well. We feel lucky to be a part of the Daycroft community.
Erin Concas: A wonderful school that has allowed my daughter to build confidence, explore new interests without judgement or pressure and learn to manage her time so she can dive deeper into her personal areas of interest. While the schools curriculum and low ratio allows students to be challenged at an individual level, the projects and enrichment activities provide extensive opportunities to learn to work in groups.
Linda Moore: Daycroft School is THE BEST school in the area! I have considered 17 schools plus visited 11. Daycroft is everything any parent would want for their child. The experience for the child is very well rounded. Children receive a solid education in the foundational subjects such as reading, writing, math, and science. They are allowed to progress past their grade and also given special help , if needed. Teachers meet your child where he/she is. Their special subjects are great too with teachers with degrees in the actual subjects like art, physical education, technology, music, drama and Spanish. Summer camps are not only tons of fun but also educational. Grace and respect for each other are taught through daily interactions. Everyone feels welcome at this school. The teachers and staff are very caring and treat your child like a unique person with unique needs. They really care about the children. A Daycroft child is one that will be ready for the big adventure ahead. You won’t ever regret the decision to send your child to Daycroft.
Greg Johnson: My son has been a student at Daycroft for a couple of years now, beginning in pre K and moving up into lower elementary now. Daycroft has been an amazing experience for our son and for us as parents. We recommend the visiting the school and meeting the faculty, staff, leadership, and students if you are looking for a place to send your child.
Megan Shipley: Daycroft is a wonderful school with dedicated teachers and a strong sense of community.
Monica Lypson: This not where the school is.It is the other direction!BAD google maps .my child goes hear

Oak Trails Montessori School: what do users think?
Vivian Byrd: This has been the perfect place for our little boy. We were first attracted to it's peaceful environment and the focus on daily living activities that children can do on their own to foster independence and confidence - especially at preschool age, they love to do these things (tie shoes, put on jackets, sweep, etc). As he has grown and developed, we've appreciated that he can explore the many wonderful Montessori activities at his level and speed. Attention spans of all the children really develop here. It is a caring, nurturing, healthy environment with healthy food, outdoor play, etc. We can't say enough about the teachers! The facility needs updates, but the tuition is low to allow all access to this great Montessori education - hard to have it both ways, and we could get over old facilities in the interest of diversity and quality.

Go Like the Wind Montessori: what do users think?
Angela Barbash: Our daughter has been at GLTW since she was 15 months old and she is now almost 6. Her growth has been incredible as we've watched her mature into an independent, confident young person. GLTW has a long legacy in the community and their dedication to authentic Montessori education is the highest in the Ann Arbor region. We highly recommend them!
Ashley Plichta: My 19 month old daughter has been attending Go Like The Wind since she was about 5 1/2 months old, and I cannot say enough about what a wonderful place it is. The staff are incredibly warm and create a very safe and inviting environment for the children. It is never loud or sensory overload no matter what time I pickup my daughter, and it is always clean and orderly. The teachers are always calm, respectful and kind. They really seem to care about meeting each child's needs, providing individualized care and development opportunities to meet each child where they are at. Even transitions are smooth because they address transitions in such a child-centered way. It is clear the teachers and staff who work here really care about children. My daughter loves it. She loves the teachers and the activities she does at school. She is so confident and happy in Go Like The Wind. I drive out of my way 30 min every morning to drop her off here, even though there are many more convenient options near my oldest child's public school. My sweet girl can't wait to get to "school" each day, which gives me so much peace of mind when I'm at work.
Yi Deng: My daughter has been at Go Like the Wind since he was 12 months old. I cannot tell you enough good things about this place. The teachers really care, they are not just there to "watch" my child. They listen and understand the children. Each and every teacher my daughter has had has warmed my heart. I have no problem leaving my child there while I work, knowing she is well taken care of. With the level of education, training and understanding that the staff has, I will be sad when my daughter outgrows Go Like the Wind and has to go elsewhere. I really am amazed at the level of curriculum, understanding, and care that goes into teaching my daughter like they are one of their own.
Jennifer Pennell: This school accepts students from infant on up, which was good for us because our child is only 18 months and isn't old enough to get into this kind of program at other schools. The Montessori program is excellent for teaching children not just academics but life skills too. Everything in the classroom is on the level of the child. They have plenty to do in the classroom including toys and books of course, but also there is a pet fish to feed and a mirror they can practice cleaning. The children go outside or play in the gym every day. They have an art class and music class. The classrooms are mixed ages so my young toddler is with older toddlers, from whom he has learned a lot. The children gather around a table and share lunch together then they wash their own dishes. In the afternoons they take a nap. My child is in diapers, which the teachers change, but they also give him a chance to use the potty during diaper changes which is going to help me when we start potty training at home. There is a sink that children can reach so they can practice washing their hands too. My child has learned a lot in the time he has been there. He is much more vocal and has learned a lot of new words. He is also becoming more independent. He tries to put on his own coat and shoes and help with chores around the house. If you are looking for quality childcare in the area, call Go Like the Wind and ask for a tour. I think you will be as impressed as we are.
Youngjoo Kim: Go Like the Wind has been the best school for all my three children. The teachers are amazing. It is amazing how the teachers can accommodate every student’s curriculum individually, my 4th grader was taking Algebra I and Geometry while my 1st grader was taking 5th grade math. My first grader’s reading level was at 6th grade level when she was tested. The Go Like the Wind taught them math and English that no other school ever can. At GLTW, my children have thrived by studying with their personalized curriculum and pushing their creativity to the limit, but also they learned to be disciplined and respectful to others. What they have learned from this school in every aspect will impact their life. I can proudly say that the Go Like the Wind is the best private school in Ann Arbor and my children were privileged to attend this school.
Giulia Ippolito Lane: Our son has been a student in the toddler and primary programs at Go Like the Wind for the past 1.5. years. Through this time we have witnessed dedicated and loving teaching. The community of students and teachers is incredible. I am always surprised by how much he learns and at how independent he has become. At 3 he can dress himself, prepare his place for meals, cleans up after himself, spells his name, and recognizes most letters and numbers. It is an amazing learning environment. I highly recommend!
Joe Potkay: Simply the best infant and toddler care in the greater Ann Arbor area; the teachers are very loving and patients with the kids and provide a calm and caring learning environment. The Primary (3-6 year old) and Elementary programs are top notch as well with excellent and caring teachers.More detail: We have had 3 children at Go Like the Wind. Our first started at 3 years old and recently moved to public school for 1st grade. Our 2nd started at 16 months and is now 4 and still at Go Like the Wind. Our youngest is 1 and is in the infant care at Go Like the Wind. With our oldest that started at 3, we immediately saw improvement in her ability to work on her own, her confidence, and in her social skills. The other 2 have flourished at Go Like the Wind as well and we have not had a single bad child care experience in the 4 years we have been sending our kids here. I thus highly recommend it.
Robert Lane: When we recently moved to Michigan, one of our primary concerns was the type of education our 2-year old would receive. As first time parents, we were quickly learning the necessity of planning, far in advance, the impact that our decisions would have on our son's development. We visited several schools in the area, and were awestruck at the calmness and serenity we experienced among the children, and staff, at Go Like the Wind.We knew to expect that the Montessori experience would be different, but it was so readily apparent that they were operating from a different mindset.Needless to say, we chose to enroll our son, and although the new location means that our commute is slightly longer, that's a drop in the bucket, to the time my son has gained due to his increase in self-learning and cultivation of his natural curiosity. So if you're on the fence, just schedule a visit and see for yourself. Then compare that experience to your experience at other schools. If your experience is anything like ours, you'll come away with the conviction that Go Like the WInd's approach offers increased possibilities for educational success. As a parent that gives me great hope in our son's future.Thank you everyone, at Go Like the WInd, for working diligently, everyday, to make that happen!
Susie Sun: My 3-year-old son attends Go Like The Wind Montessori, and he loves going into his class every day! The learning atmosphere is warm and inviting. Both of his teachers are loving and wise. Also, his concentration skills have exponentially increased since attending this school in April 2018. We are amazed with the positive changes he has developed so far, and we have come to love the community here.
Amy jiao: My daughter went to the infant class when she was 11 mon old. The teachers were sooo nice and patient with her transition. I think for more than a week, she was always held by someone. We stayed there for almost two years - their toddler program is also wonderful. My daughter is very independent and eager to learn in the environment. Teachers are easy to communicate and really care about your children. We are very sorry to leave the school because of the location change. I would highly recommend it.
Joe Allen: We have three children at GLTW. We wanted a more hands on, learning environment with a curriculum that was specifically geared to where our children were. Our kids learn at the pace that is best for them and have benefited greatly from this exceptional school!
Kara Darling: Wonderful school where our daughter thrived during her infant and toddler years! Really caring educators who go above and beyond. Karen Barney, the director, is fabulous and attentive. All in all, a great experience.
Katie Allen: Go like the wind is the best place we have found for the education of our children. The teachers are all excellent and meet each child where they are and helps them to excel in their own, unique way. They can move up as quickly as they want, or take time in the areas they struggle. The environment is friendly and family like. I am so glad we found this school to build a solid foundation in the love of learning for each of my children.
Tammy Capatina: My oldest graduated last year from Go Like the Wind, her Montessori education gave her the advantage of knowing herself and loving her individualism, giving her a strong solid base entering High School. The open communication with the teachers and their willingness to accommodate students is what makes this school a home away from home. My younger two, both now in Upper Elementary, are still excited to go to school every day as their classroom teachers and enrichment teachers make learning exciting and fun, giving them the guidance to explore the world around them.
Ana Cristina Perez: Our daughter transitioned to GLTW Montessori amazingly well. Her self confidence has increased, she is more interested in intellectual activities, talks about her teachers all the time, lives going y o school. She has always been in daycare but it had always been a struggle, she never liked it, until we found Go Like the Wind Montessori. The change we've seen in her since she started os amazing. I would highly recommend their preschool program to anybody who has a kid who tends to be introvert.
Jennifer Hopwood: Our kids have been at Go Like the Wind for several years. Our oldest started in pre-school and is now in 3rd grade. The student to teacher ratio is amazing, the staff/teachers/etc. are all so kind and loving with the kids. My boys both LOVE school and have learned so much. They are self motivated to complete their goals, and we have been so pleased to have found this gem for our boys.
lori grover: There is a respect among teachers and students, which I have never seen the likes of before. The environment is one of acceptance and nurturing along with an academic accountability, which is always expected of each student. Most importantly the teachers have taught my sons how to think for themselves. We have not doubted our decisionto send them to Go Like The Wind for a second.

Northstar Montessori Preschool: what do users think?
Kristin Minnema: My children had the most amazing experience here! Thank you to Tami and the entire Northstar team for all you do every day for the children. It is an enriching and loving environment and I know all the teachers care deeply about the job they are doing and the many children's lives they have impacted over the years. If I could give 100/5 stars I would! I am eternally grateful for their loving care. Northstar will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Laura Tanner: The teachers and management at this school are truly amazing. Northstar is by far the best Montessori school in the area. Keep up the great work!
Max M: We believe that children are not drones and need an opportunity to learn and experience the world with their own hands and not every item needs to be constrained to one form, believe that a child needs to have the freedom to smell the flowers, grow and learn with their friends, live life to the fullest every minute of every day, and most of all be HAPPY!Our son started at NorthStar Montessori when he was 18 months old, and now he will be going into kindergarten. I thought it only fitting to leave an outstanding review as a small THANK YOU to all the wonderful teachers at NorthStar! I whole heartedly recommend this school.FACTS from my viewpoint:-Truly follow the Montessori principles and provide the children with independence, autonomy, and respect.-Children and parents make lasting relationships with families.-Our son learned, grew, and was more successful because of NorthStar.-Teachers are incredible and have a real passion to work with and teach the students.-We are going to miss NorthStar!
Ramsey S: We could not be happier with the care and education our child receives here. And with hardly any turnover in staff, it gives us confidence in a good work environment which is reassuring.
Vicki Smith: So disappointed in this place! Today while picking up my daughter I witnessed a teacher a blonde older lady, flip out on another younger teacher in front of the kids! That poor girl started bawling and that teacher made her leave, not only was that unprofessional it should of NEVER happened in front of the kids! That teacher should not be allowed to work with kids because she clearly can't control her anger! I'll be taking my daughter out of this place!
Sarah Yon: I have sent two of my kids to Northstar Montessori (both locations) and the only reason my third one didn't get to go is because we moved to Hong Kong! Now my older two kids attend one of the most competitive international schools in this global city, and they are doing great! Their educational foundation was built here at Northstar. I could not thank Tami and the teachers enough. You guys are amazing and we miss you all!!
Kim B.: I have two children who have grown up at this fabulous place. I really feel my children are cared for impeccably. I read the negative review and couldn't disagree more. My 3.5 year old has not missed ONE DAY of school and she has been with Northstar since she was 5 months old!! She has never gotten anything but a runny nose after her first week! I know they UV the rooms to minimize germs!! I cannot say enough good things about the teachers. Have never had any issues with phone usage or social media. In fact, they have taken and sent me some of my fav pics of my kids. They are my friends and part of our family now. My kids are smarter, better people because of these two schools. Thank you Tami and team for all you do every single day, to be there for my kids, with your endless patience, intelligence and kindness.
Katie Linder: I am the mother of two sons, one a current Northstar student and the other a graduate of the school. I have only wonderful things to say about the school and its staff. They truly care about my rambunctious boys and have done an amazing job nurturing them and helping them to become the boys they are today. My older son entered kindergarten well-prepared, in no small part thanks to the academic instruction he received at Northstar. In addition, the teachers and owner have created a true sense of community where families become friends through the school. Before coming to Northstar, we used a different daycare and left because we were unhappy for several reasons. Joining Northstar was a game changer for all of us and our children have felt nothing but love and acceptance there. I will be truly sad when my children graduate out of Northstar.
Kimberly Czubek: I've sent both of my children here and it is a wonderful, positive, encouraging environment. The teachers genuinely care about the children, are accommodating to my schedule, and most importantly my kids learn learn learn. At the younger school (infant - 2 1/2) the teachers give the children the attention they need to grow confidence and build their independence. After a few weeks of starting here my toddler was putting on his own coat, putting away his backpack and lunch and strutting his independence both at school and at home. These teachers also had both of my children excited to begin potty training and guided them to mastering it in a short period of time.At the older school (2 1/2 - 5) the kids continue to flourish with the guidance of the teachers. My children would come home excited to tell me the days of the week, count in Spanish, and they even taught ME the alphabet in sign language. From exploring nature, gaining independence and confidence, to learning the necessities in order to be successful in kindergarten Northstar is wonderful place and I would highly recommend it!
joshua wedge: What an amazing school. Full of polite teachers that actually want to help children grow. I would strongly recommend anyone to look into putting there kid in Northstar Montessori Preschool & Kindergarten.
Jim Meloche: My boys have gone to Northstar Montessori for the past six years. The staff is the best around - they really connect with the children under their care and go out of their way to organize events and activities to make sure the kids learn and have fun. I know my kids are VERY well cared for when they are at school, and we have always appreciated the one on one attention they have been given there.
