Matt Boone: Knowledgeable and helpful employees know their stuff and will help you figure out exactly what you need if they can provide it. Fairly competitive prices on everything from gear to repairs. New Instrument/Gear supply is somewhat limited but appreciated. Only reason I ever go elsewhere is for new gear selection and better deals on used guitar pedals.In my experience, services usually take less than a day though they'll say it could be 3 days-1 week (haven't had any crazy repairs done or anything though). I've sold a few pieces of popular gear to them without issue, offers were fair for the convenience.4/5 stars because it seems like the employees aren't paid enough.

Natan Sanders Jr: I started playing guitar and bass about two years ago and stopped in this store a few times prior, but then I moved to Ann Arbor and became a semi regular. I always love this place, I’m kind of a talkative guy and some people consider me kind of annoying but I’ve never been treated like that by these guys, they’re always really nice to me, they know their stuff and have bought gear here a decent amount and sold a bit of stuff as well. I’m sorry if I get these names wrong but Marcus and Conner are two very familiar faces and are always nice to talk to and see, Connor especially, guy is a lifesaver, I bought a plume earthquake pedal here but accidentally forgot to bring it home with me and I was walking home and I live about a 40 minute walk back and forth. The store called me and let me know, and connor was so nice and drove over to my place to drop it off to me (I live close driving wise). I always recommend my friends to this place for repairs and good gear and they have EVERYTHING. love you guys thanks for the awesome service, instruments and repairs. If you want to step out and try something new they will encourage and offer options for lessons. Erik: I sent my guitar here to be repaired and setup. When I got it back it was nigh unplayable. I had to take it somewhere else to get it fixed up, which was cheaper than the initial flawed setup to boot.It seems like other people have had good experiences which is why I chose here initially. I won't do so again.

Beth Hockman: I know nothing about music. My daughter on the other hand has fallen in love with the violin. In June we went to Shar to purchase her a violin and turn in our rental. I was worried because as you know violins are not cheap. And I knew I couldn't guide her. We worked with Quincy. And he was amazing. He was knowledgeable. Helpful. And walked us through the process so beautifully. He gave just enough coaching while giving space to my daughter to figure out what violin she wanted. If you go there ask for Quincy you will not be disappointed.

Anthony Marchese: To update this post, Shar had a lawyer serve me with a cease and desist letter due to my review. Everything below is a truthful statement of my personal experiences with Shar.Having personally witnessed too many practices at Shar I do not agree with, I will be ending my 17 year relationship with them.I have had only bad expierences with the bow tech and repair shop. Nearly every rehair has failed and required a second rehair. I had the varnish on my cello extensively touched up and within months the varnish began melting off of my cello staining everything it touched. Unfortunately the damage could not be repaired by the luthier. Based on this I would not reccomend seeking rehairs or other repairs through Shar on anything above a student level instrument.Shar reached out to me and to discuss the issues however the couldn't admit their fault or resolve the issue. My bows have been permanently damaged by the bow tech and my cello has irreparable varnish damage.On top of all of this I have had a terrible time communicating with customer service, to the point where they no longer respond to my emails.

Edward Dunne: A great place to buy LPs. They have a great selection, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and it's right downtown. Of course parking is an issue, but Underground is well worth the minor hassle of downtown parking.

Arthur Phelan: Underground Sound is the only place in Ann Arbor to satisfy ur vinyl needs. Matt,the owner, has a vast knowledge of music. He can answer any questions u might have. He and his staff are sincere, honest and knowledgeable. It's Underground sound or no sound for me.

Jeff: I ordered 2 RSD Records of of their website and got a order confirmation and payment complete email back. Then about 30 minutes later I get a message from them saying my order was cancelled stating I can only get 1 copy per person. I did not know I could only order 1 copy. And this would of been fine but these geniuses cancelled my entire order and I still HAVE NOT seen my money refunded 4 days later. I emailed them asking why they cancelled my entire order and never got a response in 3 days. So I had to email them again asking why my entire order was cancelled and they FINALLY responded stating that is how they do it. Terrible customer service and horrible answer! Why would you cancel a entire order when you could just cancel the one item and fulfill the rest of the order. BUYER BEWARE. TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. If I could give a ZERO rating I would. I am not a flipper and there was no reason you could not have sold me the one record and just taken the other record off of the order. That should take you about 10 seconds. you are making assumptions and are dead wrong!!
