Ricewood: what do users think?
Jacqui Blue: So I actually really love this place and the people working there but they run out of the brisket, ribs, and pork shoulder VERY often and it's a pain to drive all the way there and leave without what you wanted. Seems like demand would inform the stock? The pork, chicken and tofu aren't as popular. When will this be adjusted? I frequent regularly but not sure I will continue if this keeps happening. The brisket is fire.
Ben Myslenski: Ricewood bowls have been a staple every single time I go to my Aunts house in Ann Arbor. Since they were just a food truck. The brisket is some of the best brisket I’ve ever had and well worth any wait to get it. Just be careful going too hot in the sauces. Did that once and it really burned later if you know what I mean lol.

H M: The atmosphere is nice and so are the people working there. Sadly the food left much to be desired. Had the chicken and pork belly rice bowls and neither of us liked our dish. I can appreciate what they’re trying to do, but for us it was too many different flavors that did not blend together well. The sesame cucumbers were very tasty though.
Charles Carlson: OMG! So good, no really! Best pulled pork and brisket I've ever had the pleasure of consuming. #nosauceParking: Parking in back, side street and a few in frontWheelchair accessibility: Park and enter from street side - back door also works, but a bit of a ramp.
Nick DeHaven: Busting, rice bowl with brisket has me vibratingRecommended dishes Brisket Rice Bowl …More
Stacey Batzer: Ricewood never disappoints. Even though they were out of everything but their burger of the day, it was fabulous. They threw in a coke and iced tea for free. Matt: Ricewood, Yum. This is one of my favorite spots to grab lunch or dinner. Its convient, the space is unique, and the food is outstanding. If you have not already gave this a try then you really should. My only complaint is they are not open 7 days a week. I guess parking can be a little wonky some days too, but dont let that scare you off. Fun backyard patio space in the summer with live music / and a house DJ that actually spins vinyl. Its a vibe 🤙
Louis Cloetens: Don’t even want to review this place because it’s already busy but the bbq is outstanding, so crave-able!
Lauren Hall: Every experience I’ve had at Ricewood has been amazing. The service is excellent, and the food is full of amazing flavor and is perfect for spice-lovers. Special mention, I recently asked for “an ungodly amount of scallions” on my bowl, and man, did they deliver!

Brandon Goldberg: The tray in my photos shows $48 worth of food - not including two rib bones. A slice of brisket ($3.50 upcharge on a $34.50 meat sampler), a bit of dry chopped chicken, spicy cheesy grits, dry cold cornbread, a Caesar salad with tasteless dressing ($5.75 upcharge), and 2 ribs ($3.50 upcharge).Food was mediocre at best. Drinks were great. Ribs came out with two (packaged) alcohol wipes tucked underneath them on the plate. The ribs were sitting on top of the wipe packs which is both a food safety issue and meant the wipe packs had sauce all over them.Soda was $3 each, kids lemonade was $4.25, kids mac n cheese had some sort of strong blue cheese type flavor that both kids and adults didn’t want to eat.Caprese sliders were very good. Brisket was pretty good. Pickle chips were tasty. Beermosas were great and something we’d never seen before. On top of prices we were charged an almost $9 “convenience fee” for paying with a credit card.Besides being very expensive, service was slow even though the place was nearly empty. Our waiter was friendly and helpful when present, but he was either the only waiter on staff for Mothers Day or they had him doing other things between waiting tables.
Ruby Murton: Recommended dishes Fried Pickle ChipsMore
Julian Dant: Cool place, great location and good atmosphere. Food is only mediocre and waaayyy too expensive. We ordered a takeout family dinner for 4 . Ended up costing 45 bucks a person and there wasn’t enough for all of us. Pretty disappointing really… I get it, the cost of everything is going up but gouging people for bbq?
Jordi Vila: Blue Tractor BBQ & Brewery. Plato super contundente.Nota: 8,5/10
Scott Rockdashil: Not a great experience. Sorry the bartender had to work tonight. Brisket was fantastic but the turkey was dry and not the best.
Nick Krueger: Food was pretty good, but everything felt overpriced, likely due to location. As far as BBQ goes it came across as pretty average. Service was good though!Food: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Kendra Kerr: Took my dad there for dinner to celebrate the end of radiation and we all ordered barbecue. The meat was entirely too fatty. In fact there was far more fat than meat. Cocktails were completely off ratio wise. We ordered a cosmo, Moscow mule and whiskey sour and none of the drinks were good. The waiter however was friendly and attentive.
Jonah Hatt: This was my third time going here and it wasn't very good. The food and drinks are mediocre and over priced. The bartender was pretty rude and seemed inconvenienced by customers. We're definitely not going back again after the poor experience.
Chris Goodwin: My father in law was cut off from drinking( not close to being drunk ) for speaking about his political views to me and my brother in law. The waitres overheard and cut him off for bieng conservative. Weirdest experience of my life. Good luck Blue Tractor if this is who you are hiring.
Patrick Bismack: I can't believe how much this place has gone downhill. This used to be the go to spot for BBQ in Ann Arbor. However, it most definitely isn't anymore. In the last few months there has been around a 35% increase in price. The issue isn't the price, the issue is raising the price and losing the quality. You can not justifying raising the price if the quality and quantity are both decreased. For $80 the meat and mac and cheese I received with my meal should be edible, but it so bad that it was thrown out. The manager Jason was also incredible rude and did not even seem to care at all when the poor food quality was brought up. As a frequently and loyal Blue Tractor fan, I think it's time for all of us to move on.
Cindy D: Beer was great! Food was terrible at the Ann Arbor location. The brisket was so salty it was inedible (I don't use sauce but maybe that could cover it up?). The waffle fries were dry and hard as was the corn bread. Price was on the higher side for what was plated. Very disappointed! (But would go back for the beer!)Food: 1/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Zach Harner: Mid day, wasn't too busy. They had about 5 staff that we could see, but only one person seemed to be handling tables, and also the bar.Took about 20 minutes before we got waited on. We ordered the three meat two sides meal.At first site, the portions were very small for a price of $40. ($35 for base, and $6 upcharge for brisket and ribs.)The brisket and ribs were both incredibly dry. Can't speak on the pulled pork my wife chose, as i did not try it.Our server never came back until we were done. We both ran out of water early into the dry meat meal. About the time we were done, the hostess walked over with a water pitcher and filled us back up, but at that point we had already ate what we could without any water to drink.I had been here once before, and the server that time was more available, but also slightly rude. And the food really didn't match the price.I can't in good conscience recommend this place as a great place to eat in downtown Ann arbor. There are much better options throughout the town.At the quality of the food for price ratio, you'd even be better off just going to a chain restaurant and saving a few bucks for about the same quality of food.I try to never be negative in my reviews, but sometimes honesty can be harsh. I really wanted to like this place.
Tamarra Gaines: Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes BBQMore
Michael Marsico: Very disappointed. My family attended the Ann Arbor location recently. Let's start with the Ribs. They were not good. Undercooked and fatty. I expect a more well cooked fall off the bone rib from a place that touts its BBQ reputation. These were tough and full of fat. Though the BBQ sauce that came with the ribs was good, the other "BBQ" sauces I was offered left much to be desired. Of the 3 of them, one seemed to be just more of what was already on the ribs. This was fine, as it is the sauce I used the most. Another, was what seemed to be spicy vinegar, was not good. The last, was more of a honey mustard sauce than a mustard based BBQ sauce. I did not use it on the ribs, but it worked as a french fry dipping sauce. The fries were actually good. My daughter, who does not eat much, ordered a side of mac & cheese. It was dry and appeared that it was sitting in open air for some time. This was interesting as our meals did come out quickly. Not sure what to make of that. The booth we sat at was tight for space. Both my wife and I are average height individuals and were consistently bumping feet accidentally throughout our visit. Finally, the host. She was not rude. But she also was not pleasant at all. I am not even asking that the host be super chipper and overly eager to help. But I do expect you to be pleasant and polite. The host was neither. After my wife told her our party size, she simply grabbed some menus and started walking without making any gesture to us. It was not until my wife spoke up and said, "should we follow you", that we got a nod. She did say our server would be right with us when we were sat. We normally do not submit negative reviews as we are reasonable people that absolutely understand that mistakes can be made. And we want to be clear that we do not believe that our server, Kaitlynn H., was a good server. NONE of our complaint is directed at her. She was attentive and polite. However, this meal was not worth the $75 at all and ownership/management should be aware of the quality of the product they are serving. We will not be returning.
June Wadsworth: Waited over an hour to get food. Then it was wrong. Waiter never came to table he was more involved with the bar. Pieces where way to much. A little pretzel was 12.50 and it was for one person.
Kay Connelly: Food good, expensive for serving size. Service good. Restrooms smelled funky.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Sliders, Pulled Pork Sandwich, BBQ …More
Bryan Scott: Coke was flat, turkey was dried out, hard and came in small pieces...essentially turkey jerky. We only got ONE piece of brisket in a two meat combo. Greens were good. Ribs were dry...mediocre at best and they were served on TOP of the waffle fries. The mac n cheese was boring...just noodles and cheese sauce...no melted cheese or breadcrumbs. Just another boring BBQ joint where nobody cares about the food they serve. The service was fine. 80 bucks for two meals and no alcohol. I would never go back.
Lena Pas: Best pickle chips around! Great food and fun atmosphere.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Paige Pulter: Took my friend out for her birthday. Everyone was fine up until Cafeha offered me a drink and then pointed at my friends belly. Who is not pregnant. And said “we can offer you a mock tail”Disgusting. As a worker in the restaurant industry, or even a human being it absolutely disgust me that she even for a second believed that was okay. Wont be coming back after my first time experience was ruined in the first minute of being approached.

He was able to provide everything we needed, the customer service was on point and the food was exceptional! Mac and cheese, pulled pork, baked beans, bread pudding... All of it was so good our staff took home all the left overs and enjoyed the change from us just ordering pizza. Not to mention it was very reasonably priced. I will be coming back with my family! Tommy Vu: I highly recommend Satchel’s BBQ for catering services.A few days before a big event, I needed to place a food order for about 28 people. Hugh (the owner) immediately responded to my request, and helped me order the perfect amount of food.-Communication: Hugh responded to my emails within the day, and was a great resource to discuss my food order with. I was unsure on some portions, but with his expertise, he helped me with some quantity changes that were perfect.-Payment: Payments can be completed online. Invoices will be emailed prior to make sure the food order is correct. It was very easy to do.-The food itself!! : The food was so delicious. There was no complaints from anybody in my group. Plus, the food all came warm too! We picked up the food, and didn’t get to eating until 20min afterwards, and the food was still warm.-Portion size: We ordered enough for all 28 people, with enough for seconds for those who was interested.Their webpage about catering includes many details / tips for your group. This includes remembering to buy/pack plates, silverware, and even serving utensils. It helped me remember to pack them all - which I appreciated from just a planning standpoint.I’m very happy again with my order with Satchel’s, and will most likely to call them again for my next event!
Erin Allen: We had a small birthday celebration for my mom and Satchel’s came in clutch! The food was fantastic and was such an easy option for our needs - very reasonably priced, too! When I arrived to pick up our order I was offered help taking it out to my car, which was a big help. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back!
