Monahan's Seafood Market Inc: what do users think?
AJ: A friend recommended this place for fish and chips. The fish (pollock) was extremely greasy and so were the fries. Neither had any flavor whatsoever. The breading on the fish was soggy with oil. Needless to say I will not be returning to this restaurant.
Ebru Herzog Uras: Always a treat to both enjoy food there, or take good to cook at home.
Kelly S: Actually made it back to Monahans today. They only have oyster po'boys on Saturday, so minor disappointment. However, the fish & chips, lobster bisque & teriyaki salmon were SO GOOD! I've been craving eating here for 5 years & was very happy to be here.
Devin Pringle: I have been trying to find good Finnan Haddie (smoked haddock) so that I can make a proper Irish seafood chowder, and they have it. They were really nice to talk to, and packaged up my fish so that I could take it back to Lansing. If you need a good seafood market with good proximity to everything else you need, it’s worth the drive.
Mckinley Garcia: Bless the mf Monahan’s 🙌🏽
K P: Amazing!
Savannah H: The food is DELICIOUS. Honestly the best lobster bisque and calamari I’ve ever tried. The fries are amazing too. The worker, Ani, was super nice and helpful.
Holly Perry: Originally from the east coast, and I have been craving good oysters…hard to come by out here. Just had the oyster po’boy, and OH BOY!! Oysters were sweet, crispy, and absolutely delicious!!
Benjamin Wilson: Best seafood market in the Midwest! Amazing selection, fresh seafood flown in daily from all over the world. Also a great spot to grab lunch.
Teddy Tran: I've only ever had lunch here, but every meal has been great! The staff are extremely friendly and this place always crosses my mind whenever I'm craving seafood for lunch. While I have yet to buy ingredients from here, the presentation of their iced seafood is impressive.
David Aguilar: Excellent fish n chips! Will come back to try more of their offerings:)
Somnath Roy: Salmon burger and fish & chips are my favorite here. Got lot of other choices also. Love this place.
Rorie Merz: Monahan's is always the first place we want to go when heading to Ann Arbor. I'm glad to report that they are shucking oysters again. Mike (the owner) shucked them for us personally. They were fantastic. It was Wednesday and the special of the day was Thai shrimp with rice and Asian slaw. That also was delicious. Crispy fried wild gulf shrimp with a sweet/spicy Thai sauce. What ever you do ALWAYS order the chowder of the day!!!! I don't know what Wednesday's chowder was.....other than chuck full of seafood. That is the best freaking chowder we've ever had!!We got lucky and were able to sit at the counter. We over heard everyone's order and I think I heard at least 6-7 orders of fish and chips (which I've had here before and it was phenomenal). One person ordered 8 salmon patties uncooked to go (I think she bought all they had made for the day LOL)Their are so may other things that we want to try so we'll just need to keep coming back. And a shout out to the pickled herring selection!!
Canela Zacharopoulos: The best calamari we have had in years!
John Bolf: Love monahans for starters. Unfortunately my fish and chips this warm friday was slammed with high schoolers, waited until 1pm when they left. Weird batter was inedible peeled it away fish was fine, even weirder I got maybe a dozen burned fries and tartar overflowing it’s cup. Should have taken it back but on balance the fishmonger has provided me with good lunches for many years. And I was hungry! I should have known when the staff told me food would be ready in five minutes something was amiss. See you another day.
Kay Bobbobcat: Fantastic oysters and calamari
Ryan VanAcker: Excellent fish and chips !!! Love this place ❤️
Franco Matzke Oliver: I’ll keep it simple. Try everything. Fish and chips though…..one of the best around. Another great experience. Great service, amazing food. See you next time.
Emilia Fichter: Really fresh, really tasty. Depending on availability/season this shop offer nice cuts of fish and prepared food. My favorite is Mackerel. Price is competitive and service is super kind so you just need to season and drop it in the oven. They can also recommend spices to shop.
David Russell: This place is a top notch seafood market. Ask questions, trust them!!! If you are lucky enough to be around 11am to 3pm order lunch from their counter. Fish and chips takes about 10 minutes and the tartar sauce alone will make it worth it!!! But honestly- the fries are awesome and the fish.....ohhh the fish. Comes with a lemon and tartar, I recommend you ask for a second tarter, I eat it on my fries!!!
Maxim Molnar: the salmon burger is 🙏🏼💕😍

Durham's Tracklements and Smokery: what do users think?
Lisa Barbee: Their smoked trout is a delightful treat. Ellen is awesome!!
Ken Marcy: Hidden Ann Arbor gem that is stones throw from Zingerman’s Deli. Been going here for years and can’t recommend highly enough. If you like smoked salmon this will change your life—well ok at least your definition of what great tastes like when it comes to smoked salmon and everything else will pale in comparison. If you don’t like smoked salmon there is still hope—this will make you a convert and if not you tried the best. Have sent to friends on East Coast and locally, and they concur. Only regret is that I didn’t discover it sooner in their long history. I have no skin in game so to speak, just enjoy sharing about great people making great quality product—all the better that it’s in Ann Arbor! My personal favorites are highland and pecan smoked but can’t go wrong. Stay with cold smoked in my opinion.
xueqing wu: Their smoked fish are just so good 💯
Just J: Amazing product!! Truly the best of the best. Worth every penny. I only wish I lived closer. Open up shop in PA!
Knut Simonsen: One of those special places that make Ann Arbor unique. A must visit for locals and visitors. Best smoked fish outside Norway!
Raj Jayaraman: The best smokery anywhere I have found. So fortunate to have it close by
Rob Thomas: The greatest smoked salmon I've ever enjoyed. I've been lucky enough to visit New York, to visit Scotland, to see Ireland and I've made a point of seeking out the best smoked salmon. Nothing tops Tracklements.
Natalya Vorobtsova: salmon was delicious!
Benjamin Wilson: Best smoked fish in the Midwest. Highland cold smoked salmon is to die for!
Victor Aguilar: Generous portions at reasonable prices. Personal favorite is the flaky char for wheat crackers. The sable is another favorite, with its perfect buttery texture
Peter McHale: First of all, this place has the best smoked salmon I've ever had. Good friends of mine and I have been hooked on the stuff like a drug ever since someone recommended the place to us. It's to a point where I am excited to introduce it to people who haven't had it before, and there's often skeptics of great seafood away from the coasts. When I bring some of their smoked salmon to a skeptic, every time they agreed that it's the best they've had.Second of all, the people who work here are some of the kindest people you will meet. Buying great product from good people just makes the experience all the better. I don't know what more to say, try it.
Nate Kleinman: Only the best smoked fish you'll find. Go there regularly to get access to their specials (like smoked scallops, finnan haddie, or whiskey-marinated salmon). I don't live in Ann Arbor, but I get the hot-smoked miso-mirin salmon every time I'm in town.
Alex K: Excellent customer service.
Chris Sand: This fish is amazing. The quality, care, and flavor go above and beyond what one typically gets from any prepackaged grocers shelves. I've been coming to DT's for multiple years and will continue to do so as long they remain in business. Photos eventually, the fish doesn't remain uneaten long enough to get pics.
Allen Brooks: The cured and smoked salmon here is excellent. I was just in Sweden and the salmon here was as good as any I had there.
Kevin Miller: Awesome
Georgeann Galante: Best smoked fish in the world!
Joe Gibes: Amazing fish!
Jeanne May Dial: The best smoked fish you can find. Great people, great service, best quality.
K B: Ellen was superb! She went above and beyond to help me send an order of Fin and Haddy to me MIL for her birthday. It was the best service I have ever had!
Lawrence Zlatkin: The best, and I'm a smoked fish snob from the East Coast! Local, home smoked, fabulous foodie quality salmon, trout, sable and white fish. It doesn't get any better.

Real Seafood Company: what do users think?
J D: My wife and I were barely able to finish the perch or the shrimp and scallop risotto. The perch was dry and rubbery and threw vegetables that came with them were irregularly cut and seasoned. Leann Kuebler: This has always been a favorite restaurant of ours. We have been going here for 30 years. The coleslaw has been a great addition. We discovered that they have decided to no longer include that with entrees. Can't tell you how disappointed we were to learn that. What a silly thing to do. We will start looking for other restaurants who don't feel it is necessary to cut such a small expense.
Marlena Novess: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Barney Klein: My wife was disappointed that the a la carte options are gone. Choosing your fish, how it is prepared, and what side you got was important to her. The new fixed entree choices were ok, but not as good. Might look elsewhere for our family dinners. Thanks for 25 plus years of being great. We know it is tough times for everyone. Wish you success!Dietary restrictions: Allergies
Stephanie McNamara: The food is consistently good at the Grand Rapids location. The wait staff have been well trained from the get go .This is fast becoming one of our favorite restaurants to meet with friends or to grab a great meal just for us! Looking forward to sitting outside again soon. A great addition to downtown Grand Rapids. The tuna tartare appetizer is killer! We like the tuna tacos too! Love the Bourbon glazed Salmon too! The seafood pastas are enough for two meals( great left overs!)
Jen Hanold: They changed their menu and took away the entire fresh fish section. The new salmon dish was not as good as blackened salmon and whatever side came with it wasn't very good. Plus they charged me $7 for my salad with dinner.Food: 2/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Valencia Gullet-Neal: My paella was anemic on the rice. I have ordered it before. You had to scrape the bottom just to get enough on the fork. I was very underwhelmed.Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Sami M.: Love the service here, we have had a couple nice meals and their private events are great. However, I recently had a meal there with the shrimp cocktail, and half was inedible. The shrimp were not cleaned and tasted dirty. Disappointed considering the place touts itself on good quality seafood.

And as soon as she got the money started asking her coworkers who she could pay to close for her. It was really sad to see and hear. Our waitress did her job no complaining. And after the waitress received her tip she disturbed me by getting excited and acting like she just won the lottery. And immediately trying to leave....

We were waiting to order and our server was just leaning over the bar with her phone in her notepad not paying any attention to us. Took an extremely long time to get our food/drinks/service.There was a woman that had a To go order and it was wrong, once the manager was told about it she laughed and walked away.Normally I can understand waiting if the restaurant was slammed but it was only us and 3 other tables in the restaurant.I wish it had been a better experience but unfortunately it was not.

Reginald Gilbert-Bey: Quality,, fresh seafood!
Jay: Little tied place for delivery
hyoung kim: terrible place. Fish smells and sell as sashimi quality. None of their fish are allowed to be sold as sashimi quality. And they tell ppl they are.
Thomas Recinella: This Company is exemplary. Not only is their product second to none as evidenced by the many chefs and owner/operators that I know who use them but they know the meaning of true service and hospitality. Matthew Wiseman was extremely accommodating with a very difficult last minute request that we had and willing to go well over the extra mile to help us out. I will be recommending them to everyone that I know who in addition to top quality is also seeking exceptional and attentive service.Bravo Motor City Seafood!Thomas RecinellaCulinary Institute of Michigan

Gordon Food Service Store: what do users think?
David Russell: Never a line, store always looks good - produce is hit or miss. The clearance section has some amazing deals, but they do not stick around long!! Employees are nice - usually pretty quiet.
Ronnie Smith: Little mom and pop place...excellent food!! Decent prices and friendly staff...our new favorite breakfast place
Mark Crooks: Love shopping there, always helpful.
Karen Taylor: Really enjoy having this store nearby. Great friendly staff and helpful. Good meat products.
Dan Shoemaker: Who doesn't know about this place. You get all the cool stuff there - in BULK... if you're throwing a party it's the only place to shop.. snacks ... a prime rib ... fruit and decorations. Not your corner grocery store but very handy if you want to indulge yourself
Bill Niester: The food from GFS is routinely and pervasively excellent. Their prices might not be on the Costco scale, but I also don't have to buy a membership. I cook feasts for over 25 6 to 7 times a year and they always come in handy for quality bulk food. My only knock would be a small staff, but it's only been an issue maybe once or twice in all of my visits
MJ Maloney: Friendly people
Janis Burleson: Nice in store new setup took some getting used to but nice and clean with a greater selection all around.
Karen Barbu: Just went in for Drakes seasoning mix
Andrew Husted: Staff here are much less helpful and nice than other locations.
Doug H: Friendly staff
alexis smith: The only place I will buy my sauce for sweetish meatballs!
The Pazyamors: Clean store, well lit, wide aisles. Wonderful deals on spices. Some items are not less expensive than you would find in a more conventional store.
Scott Centofanti: I ordered a 5 lb bag of chicken pieces, it was $29.99, I thought that was a little steep. The store looks nice and all, but I won't go out of my way to go to GFS in the future, as the price savings isn't worth it anymore.
Dean Hellerud: Not one staff member asked to help even when I said excuse me and asked for assistance. The checkout was the fastest part of my whole experience and the best part at this location I could not wait to get out of the door.
Denise Jordan: Bigger selections after the expansion and update,
Milton Stephens: Clean store and everything I needed for a party
Leela Starr: The price is a gone up so high here it is not worth the trip anymore at all! I mean these prices are exorbitant even the fish is not worth buying here anymore, which I used to do regularly because at that time it made it about approximately $3 a pound but now no it is over $6 a pound because they more than doubled their prices on most items! They surely lost a customer here! I won't be going back anytime soon it's just not worth the trip anymore not for a darn thing there! If I could give them less than one, I would!
TeAnna Daniels: High prices but good customer service.
Tammy Parker: Love shopping here!
Michael: Can never find a staff member when you need them or want to cash out. Managers are completely useless and none helpful. Worst GFS I've been too :)

Kroger: what do users think?
Jeremy Crosmer: This Kroger recently began posting misleading signs which hide the retail price of their items. The "Price with Digital Coupon" is shown in big numbers, but the actual retail price is completely blocked by the black bar sleeve holding the sign. Because of this, I was charged $5 more on my grocery bill than I was expecting. Many customers will not notice and will end up paying much higher grocery bills. I have not seen this kind of misleading practice in other stores, so I felt it was important to share my experience with this store so customers can decide for themselves whether they want to risk being tricked by a sneaky marketing strategy. I will shop there less frequently than before, but if this signage is fixed to display the retail price very clearly, then I will take down this review and continue my normal shopping habits.
Upasana Thakuria: Good grocery store to get all basic essentials, not too fancy just simple
Dave Leland: Found exactly what I was looking for.
Qiling Zou: The produce shelf is always empty… and they seems short-staffed
Brian Kennedy: It's not their fault! The workers are doing their best. Inadequate staff. No checkout help. Kroger is an increasingly worsening experience for the customer and Kroger executives don't seem troubled by that. It's the closest grocery to my house and probably the cheapest but I am looking. The staff is friendly and as helpful as management let's them be.
Bruce Geffen: It's Kroger...corporate grocery through and through. Workers are awesome here!
Nicole Coleman: I was in Kroger last nite(4/1/2023) n there was a man jus in the parking lot walking up on cars wit women only, the man walked up on my car, I go in the store to let them know that there is a man in the parking lot harassing women, I was told that it wasn't their problem. Ladies please be careful when shopping at this location, if something was to happen to you in the parking lot, Kroger isn't gonna help u... I'm very disappointed in the management n employee at this store.....
Mario Sanchez Gumiel: Horrible place. I always struggle finding the groceries I need. The self-checkout is always overcrowded because they close other areas. Many times, the place is not very clean. The staff is most of the times checking their phones or talking. I assume they are not paid well. I could accept these points if prices were low, considering that they do not clean the place very often, they do not get enough groceries, and they do not pay well to the (small) staff. But not. Since the Covid lockdown, they have raised prices. I do think ALDI is much better.
Saurav T: Good place to shop for your daily needs although try to reach by afternoon otherwise a lot of fresh food items are out of stock.
Lea Charlton: Kroger the store is large and well-lit, staff are helpful, and prices tend to be really good.
Basic Joe: I dislike this Kroger so much. The staff is fine it’s the store itself - the store is not run well. Never enough staff, it’s dirty and expensive, they’re ALWAYS out of stuff and it’s check yourself out at all times. No help whatsoever. When I go to Meijer - my bill is half the price and I can find staff if I need assistance. The only reason this store exists is to prey on the North Campus students by overcharging for everything. If you can - go elsewhere, you’ll save more then you spend on transportation, you’ll actually have items on the shelf and staff is available.Kroger is a monopoly now and it’s glaring.
Jack Cawthon: What an absolute dismal excuse for a grocery store. This place seems to get worse every year, with now even longer waits due to only 2 lanes for self check out and perpetually shrinking aisles that you can’t even turn your cart around in. No blame to the workers who I know are trying their best, but the people at the corporate level should be ashamed at how awful this store is. You basically have to budget an hour plus on a weekend to get groceries of any kind.
C E: Doesn't have tap and pay or a way to manually input cards. Also really busy and service is variable. Finally the bathrooms are a complete state of mess not that that's huge but it is annoying.
Ирина Дыкуша: Nice
Michael Steelman: 9 Times out of 10 its worth it to go anywhere else. The selection and quality of produce is the worst in Ann Arbor. The online ordering experience at this specific location is a joke. The store is in total disarray
Brock Lahart: The people are friendly, but they often keep no lanes open other than self checkout. Busch's is very close by and almost always has full service checkout lanes open.
Kevin Osak: I just bought and ate the best apple turnover in my life. It was fresh and delicious. It was Kroger brand. I highly recommend them.
Christina V: The produce section is always completely empty lately and employees are just standing around talking or on their phones. I resent that I have to pay $7 for organic strawberries after sifting through the moldy ones because there’s no regular strawberries or anything. What little produce there might be is dead and sad looking
Bill Arnold: Only go if you have an hour to pick up 2 items. It is all self service, no cashiers. They argue with you about bottle returns, the lazy workers tell you there is no deposit or they dont sell the product without checking and then you have to go get the bottle to prove it, many times over. It is exhausting. I have lived in this neighborhood 25 years and the past 6 months I have watched this Krogers turn into dump. Empty shelves, dead produce, and the organic/health food (minimally processed) section has been eliminated and whats left dispersed through the store so the downgrade isn't so obvious. I shopped here for so long because it was closest and it used to be the best. Now, I guess it is mostly for students and those who are not so particular about the quality of food they eat. Hello Busch's.......
BALAJI RAO D: Excellent.
Paul F: Edit: increasing from 2 to 3 stars because they use awesome Cisco hold music. This location clearly struggles to find enough employees. On a Sunday evening, the produce was mostly empty. Typically the only checkout option is a bay of 6-8 self checkout stations with a decent line. On occasions when I need customer service, it is closed. "Closed" is a good way to describe this store's general approach to customer service. The store location is very convenient for many pedestrians, but I recommend going to one of the other grocery stores in the area for attention and selection.

Oceanside Seafood Inc: what do users think?
Andrew Gebarowski: Good customer service
Karla N. (cocoyrober): Una gran variedad de marisco y pescado incluso el apto para comer crudo sashimi
Heather Stys Wags: Unassuming seafood store with extraordinary products, tucked away in a half empty strip mall. I love their frozen poke cube 🍣 tuna!!
Hugh Knight: Just got my order of salmon and tuna sashimi! The shipping container was amazing. They ship it in a really nice Styrofoam box with dry ice inside. All the fish was still frozen when I opened the box. Just had my first taste of the salmon, and it was amazing! Haven't done a price comparison yet. I would like to know if it's more cost-effective to purchase sashimi online or order it at sushi restaurants.
Don Potter: Placed an online order, only for Oceanside to cancel my order. Claiming I canceled in my request. Shady business practices.
Bob Simon: Donnie was great, very helpful. Answered all my questions. I drove from Jackson to check them out. Worth the drive.
Shannon Sedam: I finally stopped in here last week and was very satisfied! The salmon I bought was the best I've ever had! The swordfish was decent, I didn't care for it but that's a personal taste preference, not a quality issue. I also bought scallops that were delicious!I went back to get more salmon but their truck was running late so they were out. No big deal, I'll still be stopping back in to get more!
Sharon Lauriat: Made spicy Poke with their diced Blue fin tuna. It was amazing! I am Hawaiian, and really appreciate good Ahi.
Michael O: I've been buying here for well over 5 years on a monthly basis and have never been disappointed. great source for quality fish and seafood.
Heather N Hess: Stopped in today with a friend to pick up something special. John took the time to tell us about the different cuts of fresh fish that had recently arrived in the store. I had the intention of making shrimp scampi but was unsure of which species to purchase. John described the different species in the store and made a few recommendations. The meal turned out delicious with the golf shrimp and spinach linguini which we purchased in store. There is a huge variety of mostly frozen seafood and a few fresh options. If you are looking for quality seafood and don't have your own private jet to fly it in, this is the place to go.
Irving Gelbart: What a great company!I placed an order and received an email that it was being shipped.Unfortunately, I got called away From home and would not be in Florida to receive my order.I called the company and they demonstrated exemplary customer service and were able to pull my order before it shipped. On August 1, I called to see when the order may ship as I returned back, and the company representative said it was on its way.Great customer service.I highly recommend this company and I’m certain, I’ll be a return customer! We have great seafood in Florida, but you just can’t get walleye down here, maybe bass and mullet.😊
Stephanie Karshner: I had the yellow lake perch and crab cakes, Wow sooo good! Highly recommended! Next up, scallops and shrimp
Tony: I was delivered warm spoiled seafood. Package was supposed to be for a holiday and instead it came after the holiday, which the company knew and made me aware via email but would not reissue another package till 4 days later than original delivery. Company blamed delivery service, who is an extension of this company. When asked to at least refund my delivery charge they canceled the order, refunded payment without expecting to make any of this right. Harrassed via email after receiving bad review.
kevin lowell: Nothing good to say at all! Over priced , bad sea food and bad service ! Not sure how this place is still in business! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
Eric T: Great service and great selection!
Joel Goldberg: We've been buying from their truck and (occasionally) store for many years; can't comment on mail-order deliveries. The quality of their frozen fish is superb; we especially like the sashimi-grade ahi tuna and Norwegian salmon, along with some of their freshwater Great Lakes fish, such as perch and lake trout. Prepared and pre-cooked items can be hit-or-miss, though we especially like the clam chowder and fish pate. In general, prices are comparable to those in supermarkets but the quality is much higher.
Diana Forester: We have been buying Seafood from Oceanside, from their truck, for 20 years, beginning when they used to come to Adrian. We've been satisfied with everything we've bought. Our favorites are the snow crab (very meaty and very flavorful), shrimp, walleye, and orange roughy. You can't go wrong with this company!
Stacie Moore: I ordered some fish that I wasn’t happy with and they reimbursed me, very nice. I was very happy with the Walleye!
Jake C: Very friendly and helpful.
Gigi Batsakis: From all the reviews we were excited to receive our first order. Sadly the Snow Crab Legs. (Jumbo) did not live up to the reviews. We got the 2 lb bag, the color of crabs was very pale , we thought they would get a bit more colorful as they steamed however they didn’t. Was very stringy and minimal meat in legs. We also got the 2lb bag of clams that we have not tried yet. Hoping they are flavorful. ☹️
mike oginsky: Very clean and nice place! The employees were nice and helpful also. Definitely would recommend!
