Oxford Companies: what do users think?
Corrie Bird: Extremely helpful office staff and maintenance team! Any issue we’ve ever had has been promptly resolved. There was a power outage that caused an error code on our stovetop rendering it useless and Oxford was quick to come out to take a look and ended up completely replacing the oven/stove with a brand new model. They even worked with us to find a time when we would be home since there are pets in the house. When we had an issue with non-Oxford workers actions on the property Kris took the time to contact the company on our behalf to ensure it didn’t happen again. There is a lovely, friendly gentleman that checks in on the conditions of the outside of the house once a week and documents any issues he sees so the maintenance team can make repairs which is SO helpful because we don’t keep as close of an eye on the needs of the outside of the house.Oxford is a wonderful team all around! It was also very easy to coordinate moving into an Oxford home as an out-of-state person with a 3-D tour available and the communicative office staff- I highly recommend to anyone.
Daemon Eye: Maintenance staff are great people and they are doing a great job cleaning up the property in renting. Office staff can be hard to reach sometimes. Overall, happy with the company.
Joshua Carlin: I have worked with the Oxford property management team as a vendor since opening my renovation and remodeling company in 2018.I have never worked with a more dedicated and knowledgeable team than Katie and her group. If you are an owner or a potential tenant, please give Oxford a call. You won't regret it.
Sophia Putman: I absolutely love it here at 1001 E. University! It's such a lively neighborhood, and the apartment quickly became my new home away from home. The staff has been wonderful with answering any of our questions too! I love all the cabinet and counterspace!!! It is so relaxing drinking coffee on the couch each morning before class, and the big windows provide plenty of light. Our neighbors are lovely too, and we quickly bonded over an apartment groupchat.
Sharon Ma: Great apartment. Maintenance are very fast and efficient w/ resolving any potential issues. We had maintenance help fix our electricity, lighting, etc. Great location. On the block of restaurants and near the gym. Doesn't even get too noisy too often.
Mary Show: The apartment on the inside is great! Everything is up to date. The bathrooms and kitchen are new. The living room and bedrooms is spacious as well.
Alonso Bravo: Great attention, not only to find the perfect place, but also with a human perspective that helped us out in a very short time. Kris Kolman was the agent that guided us through the process and he was very professional and helpful. Totally recomended.
Adriana Stevens: I am very pleased with Oxford because they’re technologically advanced and always are easy to get ahold of. An easy company to go through. Everything is online and trustworthy, whereas the other companies seemed like they had such a lengthy, complicated process. Oxford helps you step by step with whatever you need.
James Zhang: Oxford companies in regards to their communication is abysmal. A call with Katie to discuss updates on current problems and situations that I've had to call about multiple times in the past weeks went less than spectacular when Katie decided to hang up abruptly without even giving me a chance to finish talking about other points which I intended to bring up. Regardless of the actual issue of problems not being attended to asap, which I can give the benefit of the doubt because the first few weeks are hectic and overwhelming for the landlord company, it is basic decorum to at least ask the caller if they have any other problems or questions. Do better.
Nova lee Hines: absolutely beautiful apartments, very friendly staffing, quick email responses, also PET FRIENDLY :) i am in love with my apartment view and the neat door locks. i’m hoping to stay here for quite a few years
GG: Maintenance is great. Competent, polite, prompt. James came over on a Sunday morning for a difficult plumbing fix and was totally gracious. Nick installed a water filter a few years back and was also tremendous. I wish I knew the names of the other techs because they are all great.
Adetola Ojo: If giving this company no stars was an option, I would have chose to do that. This company bought my building from my original landlords, which took amazing care of both the property and their tenants. I was fearful when Oxford bought the building and as time went on, my fears were confirmed.Oxford made my last year as an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan the most uncomfortable year of my time spent in Ann Arbor. By March, I had effectively moved out due to the conditions I was forced to endure under their ownership.Perhaps I will start with the worst experience during my time living under Oxford Companies. At the start of February, during the first wave of midterms, a bat somehow found its way into my apartment. I was alarmed, especially given my roommates status as a nursing student. Neither of us had the time to fall ill when the event was completely avoidable had the building been properly taken care of. I was told that due to inclement weather, the technicians would have to wait a couple days to assess the building and possible points of entry. So, we waited. And waited. And when someone did come out, they did not even leave the Oxford technician van. We were told we would be updated, but heard nothing until I reached out to the company. They informed us that we likely let the bat in ourselves, which I found to be laughable, and told me to just make sure I was careful coming in and out of the apartment. Fast forward to May, when I went down to the basement to our shared laundry room. I quickly discovered a presumably dead bat that was stuck under the agitator of one of the washing machines. But, again, I probably had let it in.Another point of concern in the was the snow removal, yard care, and landscaping. I was trapped in my own parking lot on numerous occasions due to the lack of snow removal, causing me to be late to work or spend up to 45 minutes shoveling the snow myself using the neighbors shovel. Not only would Oxford fail to remove the snow themselves, they provided the residents with none of the tools necessary to remove the snow themselves. In the spring, the neglect just continued. The lawn was not cared for during the first several months of warm weather. I had called three times before anything was done about the atrocious conditions of the yard. At one point, I even offered to help out considering no one had touched the lawn until June 12th. The lawn was so overgrown that the grass had grown to be well above my knee. I was reassured that they had been paying for lawn care, but the company they hired must have just "missed" our property despite Oxford owning 3 other buildings directly across the street from mine.I soon found out that Oxford was planning to completely remodel the building following the end of my lease term, which made everything make sense. Oxford was wildly unbothered by the horrid conditions they made me subject to, all in the name of saving money. These two things made the other issues living under Oxford seem like water under the bridge, including the lack pf parking enforcement to the point I could not park in a spot I paid for, the individuals that failed to actually take the time to address tenant concerns, and the blatant disregard for tenant livelihood while still cashing checks each month.Even when it came to move out, I got conflicting messages and was asked for my forwarding address by 3 different people--all of which mentioned that they had just "overlooked" (rather didn't bother to read) the previous sent emails containing all the information they needed.Oxford Companies is either too big or extremely poorly run, although I believe it is a mixture of both. You would be better off living, quite literally, anywhere else in Ann Arbor, so long as it is not owned or operated by Oxford Companies.
Gregory Wier: 5 star organization all the way around. I do work on many of their properties, and they spare no expense. Everything they do is quality. They let literally NOTHING sit idle. Nothing stays broken. Everything is always perfect. Great staff, easy to deal with. Positive energy. Its no surprise to me that I see more Oxford signs in ann arbor than Anything else.
Megan Yu: Great company! I have been working with Oxford since 2016. Top notch communication. All properties are well maintained and are consistently updated to accommodate all of their clients' needs. Friendly and prompt service - always.
Katherine Strong: We lived in an Oxford Managed apartment for 2 years and were overall very happy with the experience. No frills but we knew what to expect and loved that we rarely had to call for repairs.PROS: friendly employees, timely repairs, online bill pay and leasing documents, routine maintenance including a/c filter and smoke detector battery replacement, clean space on move in, reasonable rent increase (5 dollars from one year to the next)CONS: self-pay basement laundry, needs renovated and carpet replaced, slow response when we smelled gas in the building after hours once, maintenance crews blocking parking spots as they worked out of the basement of our building (they always moved them readily but it did cause delays at times)Were we not moving out of town, we happily would have continued renting from Oxford Properties.
Amanda Murray: Overall, my roommates and I have had a good experience with Oxford. We have lived in two of their apartments and haven’t had any major issues. The maintenance is very very kind and quick to help, that is one of the main reasons we chose to continue staying with Oxford after the first year. Everything is decently clean, quiet, and nice. The office staff can be hard to get a hold of sometimes, and they can definitely be quite sassy depending on who answers the phone. At the end of the day we are pleased with our Oxford apartment.
Marie Benning: Very helpful
Brian Shell: I'm very pleased that I moved into this Oxford furnished unit.On my first day here, a feather from a hawk sat on the front door "Welcome" mat.... a very cool way to start my stay here. This home is subdivided into many units with a common kitchen, refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer. It is surrounded by an idyllic forest. This morning a friendly deer greeted me at the front door as it sat nestled on the tree-filled hill next this house. So, it is move-in friendly on the first night... furnished with a single bed, 2 comfy chairs, a glass desk, and a few small lamps. It is very near UofM's North Campus... very walkable for grad students. So far, so good... moving here a week ago seems like a great move.Brian Shell - author, musician, engineer - PassionHero.com
Carrie R: Oxford is the most recognized landlord in the area for a reason. They have been a delight to deal with and I would recommend living with them. The maintenance people are quick and the work they do is good. They were also very helpful in dealing with the early leasing ordinance this year. Everyone I dealt with has been friendly and responsive. They also allowed pets which is great!
Lucas Little: Oxford is the best management company i’ve worked with in Ann Arbor. They are responsive and courteous, and their properties are maintained very well. I have had no issues and look forward to renewing with them!
Aratrika Ganguli: “I have had a great time living here! Oxford maintenance request is so quick and helpful. I appreciate all their support during the tough winters at Michigan.”

Justin Kolic: Charlie Koenn was great to work with. He responded quickly to all of my emails and questions, which is a necessity to landing the right space in this market. Not all realtors are as willing to help or as prompt. Thanks again Charlie!
Breanne Stuart: Randy is by far the nicest most professional commercial realtor I've met! His demeanor and experience helps him to navigate the matching process effortlessly.
Roberto Melendez: Joe Palms has become a good friend of ours and our business, Joe helped us in trying to get a new location for our business was very professional, we always had access to Joe, always punctual, honest and knowledgeable throughout the procedure .Roberto Melendez
laurie Psarianos: Joe Palms is the Best!!!! He shared his expertise and time helping us quickly find the space we needed!!!!!
Patton Doyle: I have worked with Joe Palms for over two years now and he is absolutely the most honest, attentive, and friendly person you'll ever meet. He has been both our broker and our property manager for several commercial spaces and he brings a level of integrity to the real estate business that demonstrates a deep respect for everyone involved. If you get the chance, work with Joe!
Nicolette Pavlis: Great to work with. Very responsive
Margo Brown: As the owner of a title company in Ypsilanti, I've worked with Dave Hamilton, Tony Caprarese and Charlie Koenn for many years. They have always been extremely professional and knowledgeable. They are very attentive to their clients' needs. I give them my highest recommendation.

Caryl Arnet: The relationship Swisher Commercial has with the township is priceless!
Mike Ehinger: We've had a great experience renting commercial space from Dave at Swisher Commercial Terrific service and value.
Eugene Brown: I have had a long and gratifying relationship with Dave Hamilton and Swisher Commercial. I was growing my consulting/training business in the 90's and was doing quite well. My wife and I started our business in our home and after about a year I rented an office space. When I needed more space, Dave Hamilton acted on my behalf to purchase the property. He knowledge and insight were very valuable. I reached a point where I needed to sell the property and again Dave was the guy that made it happen. It was the beginning of tough times for selling real estate. Dave very masterfully engineered the deal. With out him, the property might not have ever sold. At that time, I also had a house that I wanted to rent out and try to hold off losses of letting it sit empty. Dave rose to the occasion and managed the rental of my property. He handled the rentals for about 3 years until the house finally sold. I would go to Dave Hamilton and Swisher Commercial in a heart beat for anything that deals with real estate buying and selling. A great group of folks to deal with.
Judy Maynard: Dave Hamilton and crew are always professional and go the extra mile to help in any commercial property decision or questions. They care!!! Its large corporation help with small town courtesy feeling.
Bill Short: For knowledge of the market and service, there is none better for commercial real estate in Ann Arbor area.
Steve Pierce: Dave Hamilton is the best. I have been involved in a number of deals over the past 15 years with Dave and the team at Swisher and each time I am thrilled with the outcome. Honest, dependable, responsive and knowledgeable are just some of the words that best describe Dave. Dave is also a great champion and supporter of Ypsilanti and the entire region. If you are looking at commercial property, Dave should be your first call.
Greg Kemp: I had been searching for a space for my business for a couple of years. I knew exactly what I wanted and I was willing to invest the time to find it. After trying to find space on my own, I turned toCharlie Koenn with Swisher Commercial. After looking at a couple of spaces Charlie knew exactly what I was looking for and within a short time he let me know about a new build with the square footage I needed and a landlord willing to build out the space to my specifications. We moved in in November 2016 and it was well worth the wait.
demetrios philippou: I have had Swisher Commercial (Dave Hamilton) taking care of our properties for around 20 years. I have never worried about a trust issue and if they were working hard to get our properties filled and rents collected. I am very happy with Dave and Swisher.
Patrick Lenix: Kyle Bamm was hired to manage properties for my family from 2006 to 2008. He single handedly embezzled money from the properties saying that he was making improvements to the properties that were not made. He would purposely approve tenants that he knew he would later have to evict in order to ensure that he made maximum commission off the lease. Kyle hired his own company to make "Improvements" to the property, charged us for the improvements and never made any improvements. He told Tenants that we the owners had jobs that made it nearly impossible for us to be contacted. He was contracted to pay all bills through the properties including mortgage, credit cards, car notes ect. He failed to pay any bills as instructed through the property management agreement for a whole year making excuses every time we tried to contact him getting a response from his secretary/girlfriend that the profit and funds were going to the renovations of properties. I have countless letters from tenants complaining about things that needed to be addressed that were never addressed. Instead of paying the bills Kyle pocketed the money and hid all overdue bills from us until the day the bank contacted us directly stating that everything we owned was being foreclosed on including assets that were to be paid from the profit of the properties... So our rental properties, personal cars and personal home was all taken from us due to his fraudulent ways. He put a hardship on my family that words can not describe. I hope KYLE ROTS IN HELL!!! and i urge anyone that is doing business with him or the companies he is involved with pay close attention to everything this man does or if possible take your business else where.... He deserves to be in prison where he can drop the soap everyday!!! and finally get what is coming to him.
Tim Wild: Can't be trusted to do what they say they will do. Get a clearly signed contract if you want their promise of payment to be fulfilled. Don't share any information until you confirm with your attorney that it is legally binding. In their defense, they did end up paying a portion of what we had agreed to after lengthy negotiations.

Michigan Commercial Realty Llc: what do users think?
Emma Smith: I rented in one of their buildings (829 Tappan) for the past year and had a great experience! Any maintenance requests were addressed within 24 hours and were always satisfactory. Residents were always notified when there were any issues (like water being turned off for repair). The rent was extremely reasonable for a great location and large floor plans! Everyone I interacted with was professional, helpful, and kind!
Sarah P: Critical:Professionalism,Responsiveness
rick elezi: Positive:ProfessionalismMy brother lived in one of their managed buildings and can’t stop raving about them. Very attentive and professional Highly recommend.
Omar Carcora: Critical:ProfessionalismSimple questions should be met with adequate and respectful responses; MCR can’t seem to fathom that and tends to talk to you as if you’re stupid as they have no regard for their tenants,. Price is cheap but you get what you pay for in terms of quality of the apartment and service from the landlords. Don’t rent here
Mark Liu: Critical:ProfessionalismThe place seems good but Claire was super unprofessional.
Christina Deng: The apartments are well kept, and maintenance is very timely. When I first moved in, I requested maintenance on some things that were not in their best shape, and they immediately fixed them! Throughout the year, when something is being fixed or turned off, they notify everybody that water or something like that is off. They have really great communication, with timely response.
Jonathan Rouhana: Positive:Professionalism,ResponsivenessI rented from MCR for a year and never had any issues. They were extremely prompt in responding to maintenance requests. Would recommend this company to anyone renting in Ann Arbor!
Alix: Positive:Responsiveness,ValueI have been renting from MCR for the past three years and had a great experience overall. Jim, Claire, and the rest of the management team are always professional and quick to respond to my needs, maintenance or otherwise. Rent is fair and renewal is easy. Building upkeep (e.g. light bulb changeout, snow removal) is always timely.
Marita Nitkiewicz: Positive:ResponsivenessI spent two years renting from MCR, the staff were easy to communicate with and worked with you. The locations are great, and the maintenance requests were always quickly taken care of. Would recommend.
Sean Devlin: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI utilized Michigan Commercial Realty recently during a transition period and found the staff to be very helpful and professional. I always received a prompt response to anything I needed.
Alexandra Geshel: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueAll the workers there are top notch and super helpful! I have 0 issues signing my lease! Super Professional! Would Definitely Recommended!
Michelle Black: I am fortunate that I requested more information about this company and their rental properties before committing to a lease. Management was incredibility unprofessional and had absolutely no regard for potential tenants. If you are thinking about signing with this company, PLEASE consider other options beforehand. This place should be a last resort.
Ashlyn Fansler: I was interested in leasing from this company and had nothing but communication errors and mixed messages from the beginning. The receptionist is so incredibly unprofessional and I’m sure their attitudes extend to those who do end up renting from them.
Amar Srinivasan: Jim refused to acknowledge my lease renewal request then continued on to accuse me for faking the call. The lack of courtesy and professionalism displayed should dissuade any potential students looking for housing. Don't bother with Jim!
Somnath Lahiri: Horrible. Bunch of inefficient weirdo running this. They charge you for every minor thing and even you have to pay for minor maintenance. Jim is horrible and the worst EVER!!
Beachum James: Awesome Great Company OWNER IS FIRST CLASS GUY

Colliers Ann Abor: what do users think?
Momo79: Unprofessional, pushy, money hungry. That’s is strictly what this agency promotes! Unfortunate for the Ann Arbor area because they “promote” small, local businesses. You can not have access to any of the businesses without have to go through Jim Chaconas( the most careless person ever). Or, you get pushed to sell from George Kokales while you are actually looking to buy…unbelievable!
Carta Monir: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ResponsivenessI had an excellent experience with Mark Roberts, who was professional, friendly, and extremely proactive in helping me find a space that fit my needs. I would absolutely seek out his services again.
Roger Hayslip: Critical:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueWorst realtor experience with Joseph.. Wasted my time forgetting keys, and forgetting the date and time of showing. after wasting nearly 3 weeks then realized my business cannot be in the site he presented per another contracted vendor.
