Hillside Terrace Senior Living: what do users think?
Cat K: My mom lived here for 16 months with rapidly advancing dementia. I visited her nearly every day and had the opportunity to meet many staff and observe their interactions with my mom. Due to her disease she could become very difficult and the staff was always so kind and patient with her. She would light up when the aides and nurses came into the room! The Hillside motto of their family sharing life with your family is true. I was so grateful for the love and compassion showed to my mom, as well as to me and my family. I was confident that I could be away and know that mom was getting excellent care and attention. That was truly peace of mind for me after having cared for her myself for as long as I could. I am grateful to Hillside for keeping my mom as comfortable as possible at the end of her life. I highly recommend Hillside Terrace for assisted living and memory care.
luquita taylor: It's so. Lovely and nice here. And a lot of things to do to keep The beautiful & Handsome senior citizen comfortable and moving around. And the the housekeeping is very clean they do a good job
Ken Chadwick: Very, very friendly family oriented staff!! My dad absolutely loves living there and I'm always impressed when I visit him!! Thanks!!
Kathrynn Renee: Wish i could give 0 stars.Honestly, this facility isn’t even worth experience. Workers come in for their shifts up to 30 minutes late and face no repercussions. Morning staff is very snobby and clique-ish. Management in nursing office is very rude to staff. Shift leads are also prone to playing favorites. Don’t waste your time with this company
Laura Hirshbein: This is a real community and they take excellent and personal care of the residents.
Seth Warschausky: The staff are very attentive and compassionate. My mother feels very safe and well-cared for. The facilities aren't fancy but compassionate care wins out over glitter. They have done an incredible job of keeping the residents and staff safe through the pandemic. Now everyone is vaccinated!
Annie O’Connor Warner: The staff at Hillside has been wonderful in making a home that mom could relax and enjoy. The services provided have been consistent, professional, knowledgeable, skilled, and generous. The team has helped our family manage mom’s living situation with gentle guidance and care. She has been happy there. We are so glad we chose Hillside Terrace.
Jeannie Gill: Hillside Terrace is by far the best independent living, assisted living, and memory care in all of Washtenaw County. The staff is kind, building is spotless, and the leadership gets it. If you have not taken the time to research, visit, and talk with their team if your loved one is in need of a care, you are missing out. Highly recommend.
Donald Frayer: My husband and I have been residents of Hillside Terrace since early July. Unfortunately we haven't been able to enjoy the amenities of our new home because of the Covid Virus. We have been made very welcome even with these limitations. I want to say from my observation if you are concerned entering an assisted living place fear not. We have experienced warm welcoming for ourselves but another new resident who was anxious. She was treated so special that she has felt the love and caring of her new family. So thankful our son found this facility for our assisted living needs. Ruth Frayer
justin Evans: This place is not a good place to work or for your family to come and live. they can never keep a steadyEmployee and when they do they leave because of bad Upper management or they fire them for no reason. The only reason why they have good ratings is because of the stuff Commenting on this and giving good ratings I highly do not recommend working here or bringing in your loved one. The staff here are lazy and don’t change or take care of residence One of the nurses a year ago was hired with a felony. They have a very bad Pest problem as well it has been reported many of times but never handled If it was up to me this place should be shut down.
Beth Chen: My mom had a lot of changing needs over the time that she lived at Hillside Terrace and I am confident no other residence would have handled them as flexibly and gracefully as the family and staff of Hillside. I am forever grateful to them for their caring, warmth and dedication.
Jillian Faerber: Hillside Terrace is super unique in the sense that it is family owned which in turn makes you feel like you are a part of their family! My grandma fit right in and LOVES all the outings and activities! She wouldn’t have as much socialization if at home and has made some great friends!
Jessica Slocum: The staff at this facility are caring, dedicated and so much fun! Hillside Terrace is family owned and the staff are committed to ensuring that their residents have quality care, in a fun and friendly environment. Definitely a place I would recommend to my loved ones!
Sandy Kunkle: I chose Hillside Terrace because of the staff and they have exceeded my expectations. My husband has been surrounded by caring people.
Kathryn Nabozny: If you want your loved ones treated like they're at home, with love and care, this is the place for them !!! Hillside truly cares about their wellbeing. Family owned and everyone there is considered family!❤
Tim Welbaum: In this world of cutthroat competition, it is essential to do your homework before making a decision on the company you’re about to choose to work for or to enlist services from. In my experience, that research must start with who owns and operates the company, and knowing what kind of person or family they are.Character, selfless service, integrity, commitment, love, compassion, dedication and empathy are all words I utilize to describe the Litz family that operates Hillside Terrace Senior Living. Their passion and perseverance to deliver the best to their residents and staff is beyond reproach, with love and care clearly at the center of all their decisions. In addition to operating Ann Arbor and Plymouth’s premiere Senior Living Communities, this family is dedicated to bettering the world for all of us, by spearheading the fight to End Alzheimer’s disease. I’ve seen first hand the power of their commitment and energy as it inspired others to give back to their communities. They volunteer, they donate to many charitable causes, and Nanya even chairs the Board for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Michigan Great Lakes Chapter. To me, the true test of character is how a family raises their children and the outcome that produces. This family is spot on. Since meeting them a few years ago through a nonprofit we mutually support, they’ve quickly earned my respect for the big hearts they wear out in the open, and for the values they’ve instilled into their offspring. It speaks volumes of them (Nanya and Vic) to see their son Trey follow in their shoes, also dedicating his life to serving our senior community. This is a difficult industry, full of pain, emotion, unfair diseases, long hours and heartache. For any of them, let alone all of them to elect to dedicate themselves to this lifestyle shows exactly what kind of people you’re getting when choosing Hillside Terrace Senior Living for yourself or loved one. Their recipe for success is in treating everyone like they’re family, which is exactly what you get from them, whether resident, staff, friend or colleague - You’ll be Family Before You Know It!!!
Courtney Denslow: Hillside Terrace is a clean, friendly, and family owned senior living center. I sincerely can't thank them enough for all of the guidance and support they have given me throughout the years. If you're looking for a facility that will treat your family like their own, this is the place for you. I love the environment they create for their residents. 10/10 recommend.
Jamie King: I love visiting Hillside! Every time I am there, everyone is so friendly and warm. They really do treat you just like their family! I recommend this place 100%!
Jesse Fugate: I have worked in assisted living settings for over 10 years. Hillside Terrace has made me feel like a family from the moment I walked through the doors. The management, staff and residents are spectacular and exceeds all expectations for an ideal community. I can honestly say I love my job and all the friendly faces I see daily
Inder Thawani: I have been affiliated with this amazing Assisted living since last 20 years , I would highly recommend as not only they treat residents/seniors very well like their family but to my amazement their staff is treated like a family as well. I know owner.'s whole family are dedicated to the cause and work there 24/7
Amanda Harvey: All of the management has been working here for 10+ years which is just amazing. The resident care aides are hardworking and very compassionate. The Nurse's are competent and professional. The food is great and the dietary aides are warm and inviting. The resident's are delightful and very involved with activites and fun outings. Overall, it's a great place to live and to work! 😊

University Living in Ann Arbor: what do users think?
Jennifer Ogle: A beautiful, clean place for your loved one to be. The staff is caring and works hard to ensure the residents are taken care of. Housekeeping keeps the building very clean and maintenance takes care of any issues promptly. So happy to have my loved one here.
Brigette: I am very familiar with University of Living in the past and it was one of the better places in Ann Arbor; However, now I Am absolutely disgusted with what I have dealt with! I had a dear friend that was transferred to UL and she was there for 10 days and charged over $15,000!! My dear friend was extensive care which I am very aware that this would be pricey, however we were quoted $7,600.00 a month with her condition and everything that she required along with a moving fee of $3,000.00 At the end of her meeting with everyone she paid over 10,000.00. The care was UNACCEPTABLE with the amount she was paying! The staff was always in and out quickly, they refused to help her with dental hygiene, personal hygiene, and laundry! They took longer than 30 minutes at a time to answer the call light. They always had an excuse that they were short staffed; however, we would continue to see staff on their phones or talking in the halls. While at dinner we experienced seeing cafeteria staff get upset if they had a plate sent back from one of the residents. Personal property would continue to get lost or disappear! This was made aware to TANUM and to the social worker on many different occasions, still there wasn't any change in actions. My friend had an access port in her chest and was receiving a shower from one of their staff members. Before receiving the shower she had expressed multiple times to the staff member that it needed to be tapped before showering. The staff member THOUGHT they could perform the shower without listening and the port was pulled out!! This resulted in my friend being escorted to the hospital!!! THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!! There wasn't any repermandation for this employee!! After being in the hospital for many weeks she asked why no one had called from UL, why no one cared to ask how she was doing, she was not upset at the staff member just disappointed and sad that they did not care to listen to her, and take a few seconds of their time to make sure this didn't happen! This was the last time my friend was able to come back to what she called HOME! She lost her life at the hospital a few weeks later and just wanted a phone call, or a check in! These people DO NOT CARE they are the reason why so many families hate to put their loved one in other people's care, and give assisted living homes a terrible name. We then received a bill of over $15,000.00 after her passing for a total of 10 days she was there, and not a sorry, get well card, or flowers was sent to her funeral!
E L: I buried a friend recently that I cared for 4 years. I gave her my time, care and friendship she gave me her trust. I advised her to relocate closer to her friends and I so that we could better assist her as we were her support group. The place I recommended was one that I believed was one of quality and great care. Instead my friend was greeted with a false sense of dignity. My friend was treated as a number to be routinely serviced with no regard for her small requests in her care regime and as a woman that held a college degree as a retired social worker her requests were within reason. My friend was hospitalized due to an incident that occurred in this establishment, the lack of concern that my friend and I experienced from this establishment and even after her death is sickening. I wish I would have addressed this earlier. No person deserves to be treated as a paycheck in their most desperate time of need. A phone call or a card would have been nice is what my friend told me in her last days.
Susan Morrison: Way too many con’s not enough pro’s.
Markie Gentry: The staff here is extremely polite and works well with the residents. Always going above and beyond to help each other meet the residents needs and wants. The facility has great amenities: a work out room, a spacious area for the residents to take safe outdoor walks, as well as a garden area to relax by and multiple lounge rooms to socialize or have a movie night with friends.Would definitely recommend this facility for your loved ones.
Alvine Ngounou: I've been working at University Living for almost two years now. I've had the most exceptional time with the staff, the residents and their family members. I absolutely love the unity within the staff as well as their collective devotion to the residents and their families. I joined the University Living family while in nursing school and every semester, the DON worked around my school schedule to make it easier for me not to feel any pressure.
Zachary Barnez: Great modern building with exceptional accommodations for all levels of care. Great job and great staff. Would recommend as a job for a nursing student, or anyone interested in senior care.
Jacob Sayraf: UL took great care of my mom, both in the assisted-living quarters, and later in Memory Care. They communicated with us regularly and demonstrated compassion and professionalism. We made a good choice for my mom.
Richard Gross: Great staff and administrators. Highly recommend!
Amy Lesemann: The individual staff are devoted and hard working; w can’t say enough about the new director, Josie, who was formerly the nurse administrator. This is the first survey, for example, that we have seen in the several years we have had my mother in law at University Living. We have had occasional issues in the past, really ending pre COVID, and I must say- Josie seems to have everything well in hand and she got the institution through COVID with a bare minimum of illnesses and deaths. That speaks volumes, right there. Trips are starting up again, with great care and forethought, and that is such a massive undertaking for the assisted living crowd! We appreciate that, as it means a great deal to my mother in law, even if she forgets about it! It does have an impact. I recommend University Living highly.
Carol Michaelides: We have had a family member residing at University Living for 6 years. The facility is well maintained and the staff shows sincere care for the residents. We have been especially impressed by the way University Living has navigated the COVID quarantine. The protocols put in place have kept the residents healthy.
Mike French: 😞 as people we have to do better, that’s what I learned from my work experience at this place.
Brian Hoefle: Conscientious and caring staff starting with the Executive Director.
Kristen Pearless: What a wonderful community. The staff and residents are so warm and friendly. They make difficult conversations easy and you can feel the genuine affection they have for wanting to care for your loved one.I got to sit in on a bingo game with the residents and could not stop giggling. The young lady calling the numbers made it engaging and the residents played right along. Everyone one was having a good time. They even have beautiful birds on display and residents have pets to warm your heart. It gives me comfort knowing this is a safe, happy and engaging community.

Brookdale Ann Arbor: what do users think?
Lauren Simpson: My grandmother has been neglected and her basic needs such as going to the bathroom ignored while living at this facility. She has fallen MULTIPLE times and has severely injured herself, left on the floor, alone for EXTENDED periods of time. It’s absolutely disgusting how the some of the staff treats their residents.
Ralph Blasting: Brookdale management and nursing staff were extremely helpful during those first difficult days of deciding on a facility and moving in: they were caring, honest, and informative. A year later, I have been consistently satisfied with the positive attitudes and competent care provided by all staff members, 24/7.
Becca Demers: Good nursing staff and nice community
Devan Grayshaw: Granny did good here big ups to Ally Sharbnow great hard worker.
Jaccob Snow: I am an old employee and I enjoyed working here. Good teamwork and the residents always come first.
tonice gilkey: I wish I had saw the rating on this facility before I went up there. I saw a job posting and applied online I was contacted ten minutes later and asked to come to their job fair for an open interview. Once I was there I was greeted nicely and that was is. I was racially profiled my application was taken from me and I was given some rapid drug test that didn't even work. Meanwhile the caucasian man that walked in behind me was treated nicely and given a whole interview right next to me in my face. While they continued to stare at me and check the test that wasn't working for 30 minutes. I have been racially profiled but never at a job. I can't believe in the year 2021 with staffing issues as they are that a company would treat people like this and I know the actual company didn't treat me like this but your employees did and your employees are your face and reputation. I was so disheartened by the way I was treated by your director and the staff at the job fair. I told them how I felt profiled and I would be leaving. They said oh Sorry. I will never start employment with any company who treats minorities that way because I guarantee you they will treat you no better as an actual employee. Sad, very sad.
Phyililisha Brown: Horrible place to work and live, I wouldn’t recommend Brookdale to anyone.
Bethany Williston: My father has alzheimers. He's in Clare Bridge. It smells like pee. During Covid, when I couldn't visit him, he lost 20 pounds. My father keeps falling and is sent to the ER since the "nurse" they have on staff is just an LPN with a 2-year degree. She's either notthere or doesn't know what to do when he falls. When he is sent back from the ER, I call to find out how he is and no one answers the phone. The sicker my dad gets, the more it costs. None of that money goes to the people working there. The money is to build more Brookdale locations. The place is terrible! If my father didn't know his way around so well, I'd move him.
BC Wells: The administration of Brookdale Ann Arbor exceeds expectations. From the warm welcome at the front desk, to setting up a service plan and customizing the in-room amenities, we could not be happier. My dad is comfortable and active, and we feel welcome any time. Special thanks to Stacey O. who helped us make this move and continues to support our family. Brookdale Ann Arbor is a vibrant place with a caring staff.

MeeMee Davis: Please be careful placing your family here very low on Staff , they’re very nasty clean rooms 1 every 2-3 weeks . McKenna is very Money HUNGRY doesn’t care for residents feed them NASTY food . Kitchen staff doesn’t wash their hands at all . Let’s staff pick over food , doesn’t have REAL MED techs at all there Med techs are in house training . .Please be careful before placing your loved ones here , Staff barely does care neglect residents as well . . It’s a sad situation and i feel really bad for Anyone when they let their family member stays here because 9/10 the care staff doesn’t care , and housekeeping is extremely nasty . And they’re VERY SHORT STAFF. .Looks nice on the outside but isn’t clean on the inside ,This is a Real REVIEW , please scroll pass this Place if you can or ride by if you can isn’t worth the money or the STAY residents come and go from this place on a Daily Basis . .
Jill Twining: Atria Park is truly amazing! The staff is attentive and plentiful, and friendly. :)Our loved one feels very secure and comfortable. The caring staff listens carefully to her concerns and helps find solutions. And, when I am visiting, they will update me and make sure we are satisfied. I’ve also noticed they will communicate with other staff members, to ensure excellent care.Variety of activities abound, with a vibrant recreational area and an engaging staff. The food is top notch, and you can meet the chef in person. The food servers will come and take orders in person, which has been truly appreciated. In the Ann Arbor area, Atria Park is truly a gem!
Jesse Soslow: We were planning to move my mother-in-law into Atria's memory care unit. We had gone through the entire process over the course of about 6 weeks. We signed a lease, completed a health assessment with their staff (in which we discussed care needs in deep detail), delivered them a check (which they cashed), and bought furniture that was to be delivered. The day before the furniture was scheduled for delivery, Atria let us know that they decided they could not support someone with type 1 diabetes and cancelled the signed lease. We did not hide the need for type 1 diabetes care from the beginning, and in fact it was a large part of the discussion, including at the in-home care assessment. Nevertheless, Atria said that someone from "corporate" determined they wouldn't be able to provide care.I would strongly advise against working with Atria. They have an apparent willingness to abandon families with no notice, including for things that they knew from the very first discussion. We were shocked by Atria's last-second decision, and we were left needing to start from the beginning with about 6 weeks of completely lost time.
Sharon Weiner: The Atria Staff in Ann Arbor have been amazing helping my Uncle transition in to Assisted Living. The staff goes above and beyond to care for the resident’s needs. I’m comforted knowing he is well taken care of I’m so grateful we found Atria!
Stacee Garcia: I have worked at this community for 4 years now. Our team is strong and I like the work environment that is Atria. Ann Abor is a small yet thriving community.
Rick Young: I have been working with Atria Park of Ann Arbor in the capacity of Senior Consultant and Franchise Owner of CarePatrol of Southern MI. Atria is one of a number of Senior Living/Care communities in our Provider Portfolio. I have been the CarePatrol Franchisee for Washtenaw County/Ann Arbor for the last 6 years. Over this time, I have been particularly impressed with the quality, expertise and knowledge of their management staff. Their management team works tirelessly to address any resident concerns and to ensure that their residents are receiving appropriate care while maintaining respect and dignity for all residents. Their Executive Director maintains an "open door policy" for all residents as she wants to address any resident issues with urgency. I have primarily interacted with their Sales & Marketing Director. She likewise is most professional and focuses on learning about the care needs and care amenities of a potential resident to ensure that Atria is the "right fit" for the resident and family. Atria also maintains high employee retention and loyalty through several innovative programs that provide educational assistance for employees. This has encouraged employee loyalty and reduced turnover. This is important in a senior living community as residents prefer to establish ongoing and lasting relationships with employees. Based on my experience as a Senior Consultant and Franchise Owner I give very high marks to Atria Park of Ann Arbor.
Brandi Stewart: Love the days I get to work in this community! The building is beautiful and inviting, the staff is helpful and friendly and the residents are thriving here. The activities / Life Enrichment team does such a great job at scheduling activities, entertainment and outings. I really just can't say enough about the great job this team does at caring for our communities elders. I am proud to be part of this team
Stephanie Zabinko: Great facility....residents are kept engaged and active. There are always activities such as exercise, music, parties and trips out of the building.
Daniel Matwiejczyk: I have lived at Atria for one year. It has been an enjoyable experience. I feel safe and comfortable. The employees are kind and caring. It is pleasant environment to live in. I am glad I am here.
Jack Irwin: Outstanding and truelycaring staff. Excellent environment with access to one of the greatest hospitals only one mile away. The hospital is not part of Atria but it is there.
Brad Amiot: A great place for your mom and/or dad.Been stopping in here for years and a lot of the staff has been the same. That tells me there's consistency, and a good management team.Brad
Saverio Diponio: This is a beautiful community with very friendly people! I highly recommend!
Martha Quenon: I appreciate Atria’s retention of good employees. It is heartwarming to see employees like Sherrie move from housekeeping to care staff to the front office. There are so many familiar faces (Diane, Craig, Bill, Carol...) who have been with Atria for a long time.I was pleasantly surprised that my mother managed the transition to Life Guidance so well. The first time I was able to visit her I discovered what made the transition so seamless. It was the presence of Monica. She had taken care of Betty on the second floor and just happened to have transferred to Life Guidance around the same time Betty moved to 4. Because Monica knew Betty’s routines and habits (showering, dressing, which necklace and shoes), Monica eased Betty into the routines of Life Guidance with cheerfulness and care.
Mary Isokpehi: Very peaceful, neat, pleasant people staffs. Good retirement senior living home.
Carol Jacobs: I have worked at Atria for almost 7 years, and I have enjoyed every minute. I get together to meet a lot wonderful people. The residents are the best.part of my job. They are all loving and caring and have so much to give.
Key H: It's a joy to work here! Great environment, staff, and residents. Really feels like a family and you can tell that everyone really cares for the residents and want the best for them. Beautiful atmosphere and surroundings, especially the lake behind the building.
Randall Kirsten: I love the environment I work in. All the staff and the residents are amazing!
Yousef Warsame: I can say as an Atria Residents Assistant Staff, that the best moments I ever enjoy is to draw joy and happiness on the residents’ faces , even if it is through simple daily details. The Residents suffered a lot during the Pandemic Quarantine period from being away from their families and loved ones. Our challenge was to work hard and go extra miles to make them enjoy the best times by making it possible to communicate with their families and friends through online technologies and arranging windows visits besides paying more attention about their feelings, hopes & simple life details. This had a great impact on reducing their feelings of loneliness and provide them with a warm life atmosphere in our facility. When I come to work every day, my main goal is how to convey and spread positive energy to our residents and my best achievement will be to draw a smile on their faces by end of the day. Thanks Atria for offering me such great opportunity to positively affect the lives of these people.
Achla Karnani: I own CaringTransitions Ann Arbor and we specialize in relocating seniors to senior communities. We have helped 4 clients move into Atria. McKenna and all the other staff (shoutout to Greg the maintenance guy!) are extremely helpful and do whatever is necessary to make the transition smooth. Everyone I have relocated has been very happy and wish they had made the move sooner!
Jennifer Engelhardt: My father-in-law (a retired physician) lived at Atria for 3 years following his stroke. He found community in the residents and staff. Atria’s Director, McKenna, runs a wonderful facility with compassionate staff.
Sharon Harr: When we were first searching for a “home” for my mother we were disheartened with our choices until we toured Atria. We have been so happy there. My mom is content and safe. She has made new friends and participated in so many fun activities! It is a small community which was important to us. They operate as a family from residents to staff! We have been most pleased with their great and varied activities led by an enthusiastic and caring staff member. The food is yummy! I have joined my mom for several meals. Mckenna, the Director has certainly gone the extra mile for us as we work out details regarding insurance and details. She always has a smile and truly cares and loves her residents and their families. Her door is always open and she is incredibly assessable. As my mother’s primary caregiver, I have been treated with respect and smiles from everyone - the maintenance crew, the nursing staff, the chef, the caregivers, servers, front desk employees. This means so much!Thank you Atria Park of Ann Arbor for loving your residents and treating them with such grace and integrity.

All Seasons Ann Arbor: what do users think?
Mo Mo: All Seasons Refused to give me even the most basic prices for my Mother. Said the "Only" way to get prices is to give my name, phone, Then a Sales Manager will call me back at their leisure. What kind of place has this kind of policy? I can tell you. A place that Hides what it wants from the public and who knows what else they are hiding.
David Finkel: Excellent facility. Very nice staff. Excellent amenities!
Priscilla Kemp: This is a great place to live for seniors 55 and older. The food is fantastic
Bert Hornback: I am-sold. I want in. ..Bert G Hornback. UM faculty 64 to 92. Assistant, Associate Professor, Professir,Emeritus Professor.
Mary Russell: It is very modern and posh settings
Rehana B: Beautiful facility
Russell Stambaugh: Visited friends here. We would not consider locating to a elder community like this during the COVID pandemic despite perfectly appropriate security precautions in place. When we visited (October 2021) it was less than half full. We saw only a few residents. It has lovely communal facilities, a French chef from Coleville-sur-Mere (Normandy), a lovely bar, exercise room, pool, library, art room, auditorium and other common areas. The apartment we saw was small but adequate, especially given that they feed residents two meals/day. It felt like staying in a resort. Our friends are feeling pretty good about it. Both are over 80 and at the limit of managing independent living.
Jimmy c: Wow. Super nice place with great food! Like a luxury 4 star hotel
Nikki Black: Over the last five years we have been visiting and researching retirement communities. This summer we decided to move to Ann Arbor because of its proximity to family, friends, airport, hospitals, and activities. Our choice of community was All Seasons Ann Arbor because it offered so much of what we hoped for in a retirement community. The outstanding staff here is so accommodating and helpful in every way! Everyone from the executive director to the maintenance and cleaning crew, the staff here has been warm, welcoming, competent, and responsive. We particularly like how well they all work together to complete whatever requests residents have. As we have met other very welcoming residents, we have been impressed with their satisfaction with All Seasons Ann Arbor and all its varied, interesting, and fun activities. The staff is interested in satisfying the interests of the residents and makes every effort to make them possible. In addition the gourmet food in the seven dining areas is delicious! We love the 140-seat auditorium and events there, the swimming pool, well-equipped exercise room, library, game room, and so much more! We are very pleased with our decision and look forward to many active, fun, and healthy years here!
Charlene Hancock: Thinking of moving to All Seasons Ann Arbor, but are worried about possible car problems without a garage? Don't worry--the staff is here to help! They'll charge your battery and reinstall it, brush off the snow and ice, and do whatever else they can to help!
Jane Miller: Thank you ASAA for helping us host a wonderful birthday party for my father. The menu choices were great. The food was wonderful. And best of all — the outstanding staff members who helped along the way! ASAA has really made my parents feel at home. Thank you!
Ursula Hohlstein: All Seasons is a fantastic retirement community. I moved in a couple of weeks ago and have already made some terrific friendships. The staff is excellent and attentive. The food is superb with great variety. The rooms are brand new and well designed. This is great place to retire and enjoy life!
Lance Mitchell: The community is beautiful, the staff is very professional and welcoming. Stacey provided a wonderful and informative tour of the community.
Andi Lobdell: All Seasons is beautiful and just amazing. The people are simply fantastic including the very professional, patient, and accommodating staff. The residents are so much fun and inclusive. I really enjoy visiting my parents in this best-in-class senior living community. Highly recommend it!
Jeff Zeldes: Can we talk? What would you look for in a senior living setting? World class health care near by, cultural events, exquisite surroundings run by a staff that befriends and pampers and new friends who just want to have fun. This has been my moms experience and then some. I recommend All Seasons Ann Arbor with a full heart knowing how thrilled my mom is with her new home. Lisa Zeldes
Laura Raynor: My mother Lois moved in to All Seasons a couple of weeks ago and she has repeated this phrase many times - "my life has completely changed and I have found my people!" By people she means the lovely and intelligent residents but also the warm and welcoming staff. Mom could not be happier with the classy environment, delicious food and endless fun activities. The staff is incredible and we are grateful that our Mom has found her peeps!!
Joan Otto: On February 6th, I moved into All Season-Ann Arbor.  At first everything was GREAT! The staff was as friendly and helpful as could be.  The Daily Activities Calendar wasAmazing!! The food was top of the line.  It was more than I ever expected.Well a “new broom” sweeps clean, we all know that –So, here it is now – 2 months later – reality has set in and guess what?? It’s even BETTER – NO KIDDING – It’s as close to living at home than I ever could haveWished for. Most of all, I am comfortable here at All Seasons.  Comfort means a lot to me.  I have also made a lot of new friendsWhat are my complaints? I really don’t have any.  BUT my children, grandchildren and friends are a bit miffed because whenever they call me, I am too busy, eitherIn the art room, auditorium or Mill Pub having fun to talk to them, or too exhausted by the end of the day to chat with them for very long.Look for next month’s update.Jojo
Martha Han: My mother recently moved into ASAA and her transition to Senior Living has been made as smooth as possible by the conscientious, kind, hardworking staff every step of the way from tour to move-in. The facility is absolutely beautiful and welcoming. I don't think there is a better Senior Living Facility in the Ann Arbor area. The food and activities are top notch and I know my mom will be happy and safe. I highly recommend ASAA to anybody looking for the best senior living experience!!
Kelly Kellar: Thank you All Seasons! We have recently moved my parents to the Ann Arbor All Seasons Community. Your staff could not be more accommodating as my parents transitioned to their new home. You all have been responsive to our every need. The facilities are beautiful and already there is a variety of interesting activities being implemented and a great willingness to add more as new residents move in and share their interests. Your staff is always smiling and there is an overall happy positive energy from the moment you enter the facility. My family and I are so thankful for the All Seasons community and the safety and security it provides for my parents. My parents only wish is that they could had made this move sooner.
M: All Seasons Ann Arbor is far and away the best senior living facility I've seen. Physically, it's absolutely beautiful. The amenities are many and well designed. The operating philosophy is that of a five star hotel.....everyone is treated as if they are cherished guests. There were no negative surprises during the contractual or move in process. My mom has now lived there since January and loves it. She lived previously in another senior living location in the Ann Arbor area and likes All Seasons much more.
Jerome4 Rivard: Great facilities, great people!

Brookhaven Manor: what do users think?
Jim McElroy: My parents moved to Brookhaven Manor 6 years ago and quickly became very comfortable living here. They made many new friends, and greatly enjoyed all the activities, the staff, and the management. Anytime they had an issue it was resolved promptly. Having visited them here many times over the years I highly recommend it as a place for independent senior living. The facility itself is well maintained and in excellent condition. Brookhaven also made it through Covid times without a problem due to the strong safety procedures they implemented. That alone says a lot.
Alice Friedman: Brookhaven is a wonderful place to live. The staff is more than friendly, the food is very good, I feel a bit pampered. They have made adapting to the constraints of the virus bearable.
Kevin Osborn: Well maintained with friendly staff. My Mother-in-law likes the food too (it’s relatively standard American fare well prepared) the apartments almost all have balconies or patios and lots of lovely flowering trees. Lots of concerts and performances as well as regular card games, movie nights etc.
Mary Smith: My dad lives here. I feel he is safe, the facilities are acceptable, and the staff do care, but rent is expensive compared to the services provided. Focus is on profit rather than quality in some areas.PROS- Activities on-site are frequent and enjoyable. Music performances, group movies, bingo and the like.NEUTRAL to NEGATIVE- Housekeeping services are ok but superficial.- Nursing support (fee based) seems to provide appropriate care. However, you need to be assertive to stop services when care isn't needed.CONS- Weekend and holiday support is limited to dining; no staff on site.- Food served is NOT appropriate for aging residents with heart disease, blood pressure issues and diabetes. Hot dogs every week. Sugary deserts every day. Minimal fresh fruits and vegetables. They could use a nutritionist.- The food itself is poor quality (not good tasting, not well prepared) and portions are stingy.

Balfour Ann Arbor: what do users think?
Stacy: My mother has lived there since it opened. She is so happy there. The food is truly exceptional and staff does their very best to meet the many demands of residents. The units and common areas are beautiful and the team does an excellent job with maintenance and cleanliness. Highly recommend!
garrett mccracken: I am a former employee fired for extremely just causes. During the time I was employed here I recognized serious issues under the surface (a seeming facade) with treatment of nurses and certain residents, but hopefully they have earned a 4 star rating from me within the mean time.Hopefully i have been proven wrong already about a possible 1 star.
Steve Pierce: Beautiful place to live. Like a luxury hotel.
Alena (Nely): Elegante y buenos servicios, buena atención a las enfermeras y trabajores de otras agencias
Christina K: Wonderful place! Amazing and caring staff. Absolutely Beautiful place!
Nancy Kennedy: The staff at Balfour has done everything that we have asked in a timely manner , making our move to Balfour a very pleasant experience.Everyone friendly and very helpful.
R. Keiver Schermerhorn: It's a beautiful place; management does a great job. Kitchen staff and chef are excellent. Best food around. It blows other independent living kitchens food away. I have a relative here.
Tara Lynn: Absolutely most beautiful Senior resident living I've ever seen. They have to much to offer residents.
Brad Amiot: Amazing staff . Great food. The whole atmosphere was wonderfully alive
Patti Sage: I recently had the opportunity to tour the Ann Arbor Balfour facility and was completely impressed. The staff was knowledgeable, kind, and considerate. The facility is amazing. Attention has been paid to every detail to make your retirement life easy and comfortable. A truly fabulous place!
Erica Gilbert: As a former employee, I know the challenges a new senior living community can face. Unfortunately, because of changes in my personal life with my family, I was unable to continue my employment which I would’ve loved to be able to stay on board. I know the executive team has worked hard since opening to address many issues, taking responsibility for areas where they are lacking and continue to work to better the community as a whole. Even during a global pandemic, I know Executive Director Michael Scully continues to work tirelessly to put residents first. There are so many great amenities available to residents at Balfour Ann Arbor, including exceptional food from their top notch culinary team as well as a concierge/transportation team that is always ready and willing to accommodate all of the residents needs.
Logan Myers: Helped my grandmother move in over the summer. The place is gorgeous and has an awesome community. Very friendly and helpful staff!
David Walenga: Everything about the Balfour facility is top notch and exceeded my expectation of senior living. The staff, everyone from maintenance to sales and management, and the inclusive welcoming atmosphere really make the place special.
Jeanette Allen: I am so very appreciative of the care, dignity and respect that ALL of the staff demonstrates at Balfour Ann Arbor! I've spent quite a bit of time in the community over the last 18 moths, witnessing how caring this team is. The executive director, Michael, is a truly caring person, who has taken the health and safety of all residents extremely seriously during the pandemic. I could not be more grateful for this team. Keep up the great work Balfour Ann Arbor.
Al Solvay: + Employee turnover is high. Look atemployee remarks on indeed.com.+ They have been open a year and stillHave problems with doors functioningproperly, holes & ruts in the lawn surrounding the building, ice falling from the roof onto the porch. Now they posted sign “Be careful when walking on lawn naturally uneven surface”+ Very expensive+ Balfour does not like to spend money on anything+ Very arrogant management+ There customer is the investors+ Residents in assisted livingsometimes have to wait 10 to 60minutes for assistance afterpushing a call button. I believe thisIs due to short staffing.+ When I make suggestions forimprovements I get noacknowledgement or reaction. I have been waiting 9 months.for an answer. The answer was a sign that says “walk safely naturally uneven lawn
Todd Carter: My daughter works here. It is an amazing place.
Gabriel Canizales: Ohhhh primera calidad todo ,10 puntos en todos los servicios que ofrecen para las personas mayores,se lo recomiendo a todos los que puedan
BRIAN S: Beautiful retirement community with great friendly service
Carolyn Edwards: Maybe the owner should pay the people who built this facility! It's been over a year and we are stilled owed money for our services as a subcontractor. Over a million dollars is stilled owed to many hard working companies that made this place as beautiful as it is! What a disgrace of an owner!!!!
Heather Fry: Current leadership is horrible, at the Ann Arbor location. The Assistant ED won't return personal items after making several calls and sending texts. Michael sent the items four months later only after one of the residents said something to him about it. The walls are not soundproof but they will tell you they are. They will tell you the pool is a salt water pool, but it's not. Balfour Ann Arbor upper management is hypocritical and cowardly. They do the SAME EXACT thing they fire people for. The aesthetics are beautiful, but if you have inconsistent leadership you have nothing! DO NOT trust the leadership at this community. Whether you are looking to get a job or looking for a new home. This is a FOR PROFIT company. That right there should say it all.
Michele White: Former EmployeeBy far the BEST job I’ve ever had from management to the residents I LOVED it !! I departed ways because my husband got a job offer in another state otherwise I would still be at Balfour Ann Arbor.!! My last day was very emotional I walked out to my car crying because I’ll miss this place so much .! I highly recommend this beautiful place as a place to live. Also if you're looking to work here.

Glacier Hills Inc: what do users think?
David Pumphrey: WOW! What a wonderful birthday celebration dinner thanks to all of you! It could not have been better. Everyone worked together to greet, welcome, an serve all my guests with warmth, kindness and joy. Please tell Mary( I do not have her e-mail address) and all the wait staff and cooks how much I appreciate everything they did to make the party such a memorable event. Jay, you went out of the way to address my grandsons allergies so he could enjoy delicious food. I heard over and over from guests how delicious all the d’oeuvres were, and how beautifully presented and yummy the main course was. What a marvelous statement all this was to express how gracious and caring Glacier Hills is! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, and may God bless each of you.
Curtis Hoff: Why one star - because that is the lowest allowed. My mother was at Glacier Hills since 2010 but we recently moved her. It used to be a pretty good place but Trinity has ruined it. The focus now is on reducing services, "fleecing the flock" by adding new fees/rules/conditions on everything and maximizing profit. Even getting simple maintenance is basically impossible anymore. Additionally, earlier this year my mother was at the Care and Rehabilitation Center after a hospital stay and we had to remove her and instead pay for an home aid since the care was nonexistent. Unfortunately, Glacier Hills is not what is used to be and I strongly suggest anyone look elsewhere.
Judith Garry: Have you met my friend, Dave? He is part of the Glacier Hills Transportation Team! He is the driver usually assigned to me. Dave is always on time, organized and pleasant. When I hear a knock on my door early on the assigned morning, I know it is my driver Dave. He will help me remember all my paperwork and purse and keys. If my lunch is not ready we leave without, as we must be on time. He also advises me on the temperature outside so I am dressed properly. I think Dave has a map of the U of M buildings memorized in his head. He stays with me until the clinic calls my name to make sure everything is okay. My procedure is six hours so Dave will go about his day until I call to say I am finished. He thin arranges what he is doing to come pick me up and get me back to Glacier Hills as fast as he can. "I really appreciate the Transportation Service and all the drivers provided by Glacier Hills. It is such a great service!
Nera Akiva: They killed my great grandpa and didn’t give the proper pills to my moms friend.
Donald Postema: I attended another unique event at Glacier Hills: an elegant wine tasting seminar with our resident wine expert Dr. Jerry Rosenberg (his wife Corliss did the pouring). (In 2007, Dr. Rosenberg was inducted into the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin [Brotherhood of the Knights of Tastevin] at the Clos de Vougeot in Burgundy, France, based on his years as a wine taster.) He gave us insight into where and how Burgundy and Bordeaux vineyards are grown. He taught us to see, swirl [to release the aroma], smell [to enjoy the bouquet], sip and savor the taste of the wine and delight in the finish. I will enjoy my next bottle of wine a lot more.
gage speer: Great place for your loved one. Enjoyed a walk through the beautiful grounds during a visit. Highly recommend.
Meg Worcester: Moving to Glacier Hills was the best move I ever made! Instead of “downsizing” from a large house, where I had a B&B, to a small apartment, I actually moved to a mansion, where my freshly-renovated living quarters give me all the space I need ~ spacious living room, bedroom, and lovely bathroom, and a kitchen with beautiful appliances and lots of counter space. The location is very convenient and I overlook a dining (and sometimes entertainment) patio, with lots of flowers. I love seeing the daycare center on the other side of a “park.”I’ve now lived at Glacier for 3½ years but it seems like about 18 months! I love that I have more friends now than I ever had at different times of my life, with a different dinner party every evening, if I choose. If I want peace and quiet, there’s lots of that, too! But, most of all, I love the feeling of safety and of being provided and cared for. The staff are incredibly helpful. Our Meadows “house mother” (!), Gloria, is always there for us, whenever we have any questions or needs. There are more examples of staff assistance than I could possibly say here, but, for example, I had a scam call this last week, and when I couldn’t understand the caller, I quickly went to Gayle’s office for help. In short order, she figured out the problem, told the caller in no uncertain terms to “take a hike,” and that was the end of that! In thanking her, I said, “I’ll bet that wasn’t on your job description!” Her immediate reply was, “It is now!!”Another time, I was having trouble getting on a committee Zoom call, and within a minute, there was a knock on my door and John was here to help!I’m reminded of what it’s like to move into a new house, and once I’m settled, I suddenly discover all the perks that I had no idea were included. That’s what it’s like here! All the staff are friendly and competent, and go out of their way to fulfill any wish. The dining staff is amazingly attentive; I can’t list the many key players for fear of leaving someone out. Their adaptability during the COVID crisis was fantastic and was so very appreciated by everyone! The monthly calendar that Priscilla puts together is full to the brim with an incredible variety of top-notch entertainment and educational programs ~ everything from concerts (ragtime band, University string quartets, social-hour background performers, I couldn’t possibly list them all) to antique car shows, safety classes (in many areas), trips to the Holland Tulip Festival, Museum of Natural History, Stratford Festival, Dexter Cider Mill, etc., etc.I love that so many amenities are provided on campus, we never have to leave if we don’t care to ~ everything from a library, cross-campus art displays, hair salon, accounting office (cashing checks, postage accessibility), grocery delivery. At the top, of course, is Nancy Peel, our wonderful Manager ~ who truly listens (and writes in her notebook, AND, most importantly, follows up (!)) on every suggestion and concern that we residents can come up with. She’s really approachable and wants us to be happy!Clearly, I could go on all day; but suffice it to say, I couldn’t imagine a better place to live and, personally, wouldn’t live anywhere else!
Diana Rigan: I recently had a family member stay here in the short term care facility. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The business office was great at answering any questions we had. The food was also exceptional and there were many options to choose from.
Herb Fritz: Great place for your family😊
Jennifer Glover: Glacier Hills is by far the best facility around! The facility is clean and nice to look at. The staff are all very friendly and helpful! Mom says, "I put on my call light to use the restroom and 4 people showed up to help me." The food looks very appetizing and pleasant to look at. Mom says the food is very very good! Her room was neat and in order and everything Mom needed was in reach. Mom has been kept neat and clean and free from odor. The therapy department has been awesome with mom's recovery! I seriously have no complaints. The only thing I would change is that we, the family be called and included in her care more. This place has been so amazing for Mom that she wants to live there! I think that pretty much speaks for itself. Thank you to the entire Glacier Hills Staff, from the ladies that greet us at the front desk, to the nurses and care staff, to the therapy department and the staff in the kitchen and everyone else in between. God Bless You All!The Glover Family,Maxine, Jeff and Jennifer Glover
Michelle Miller: Truly a fantastic team in rehab from nursing, to social work and therapy. Wonderful supportive staff!
Troy Spurlock: This place is amazing. If you are looking for a caring living environment, look no further. Glacier Hill will provide all the care and safety you need. They have amazing staff that's very hospitable, and friendly.
Harris McClamroch: An excellent place to live in a caring, independent living retirement community. So thankful for the support that Glacier Hills provided to help residents through the pandemic.
Saverio Diponio: Had a wonderful time visiting this community!I can see why my friends are so happy living here. This is exactly the type of lifestyle I want for myself in the near future
Jacqueline Lunsford: Great place to live! There are so many exciting things going on right now at this Life Plan Community! You have to check it out
Nathan Gardner: There's nowhere in the area that's better than Glacier Hills! Glacier has been around a long time and there's a reason for that! It's got a number of great amenities and activities for residents, plus there's so many options for people looking to live here.
N G: Glacier Hills has very warm and friendly staff, and there's new renovations underway that are going to look even more amazing than it already does! Go Glacier!
Gabrielle Gibbs: DO NOT WORK HERE!! I thought I would like working at glacier hills but only a couple weeks of employment I saw how unprofessional & unorganized this place is, Someone stole my purse out of the supervisors office!!! & I talked to hr and so many others about it trying to get my purse back and nobody would help me or cared, they acted as if it was no big deal like I had no right to be upset or want my stuff back! I also got to see how they don’t care about the residents I’ve seen so many residents walk around yelling for someone to help them & no staff around to help them. I am very disappointed I worked here my experience was terrible and they should have trustworthy people working at this place being that they care for the elderly!!!
km h: PT and OT are great, food is ok, but nursing is extremely short-staffed which meant I spent 8 hours a day with my mom making sure she got the care she needed. But even 8 hours a day wasn't enough, and I hate to imagine what things were like during covid when no visitors were allowed into the rehab area. While Mom was there, it was me who suspected she might have a blood clot in her leg (she did), it was me who found her laying on the floor with her call light on and no nursing staff in sight, and it was me who ran frantically thru the halls looking for help when she'd been left on the toilet for 45 minutes with no way to get off. I came to know the nursing staff well in the weeks Mom was at G Hills, and the fact is most of them are doing the best job that they can. But they are so very very short-staffed that sometimes they barely have time to glance in a room to make sure no one is lying on the floor and then dash off to the next room. I don't understand how this facility can treat its nursing staff, and thus their patients, so poorly. I marvel that any of the nurses or aides can tolerate these working conditions.
Julie Crawforth: Back in 2015 my mom was in Glacier Hills recovering from back surgery. The experience at Glacier Hills was high end care phenomenal now fast forward to July 2021 my mom was admitted again full knee replacement and I was shocked at how much this place had changed. The care wasn't anything to compare from our last stay. My mom requested a bath and was told she needed to request that from the morning crew and when mom told them they were busy the girl replied and you don't think I am busy and of course it took 2 more days for mom to get a bath. She also had a bandage on that the surgeon marked in bold black magic markers to remove on a certain day 4 days later they still had not removed the bandages to look at the wound. They removed it when she was in a wheelchair being taken to an appointment with the surgeon. We told the surgeon they never took off the bandages. I will never again have my mother admitted here and I feel sorry for those who are there.
M Mammouk: I wish I could give them negative stars. If you love your family members, don’t send them here.My mom was sent to this place for rehabilitation after she fell and sustained a back fracture. In the rehabilitation center the following day, she started developing abdominal pain and distension and they ignored her. When she couldn’t take it anymore, she called and asked me to contact the rehab center. I called and spoke with 3 different people begging them to examine her and order an X-ray because I am a physician and was worried about bowel obstruction. The nurse I spoke with told me the doctor had already seen her that day. I explained she did not have these symptoms when the doctor was there and she needed to be examined again.Later that evening, I called back and the nurse told me the doctor had ordered the X-ray she needed. I felt better and called the next day to see what the results were. It turns out the X-ray was done 18 hours later although it should have been ordered STAT because bowel obstruction is an emergency. My mother suffered all night because of pain and lack of sleep and no provider went to see her even after being told she might have a bowel obstruction. The radiologist called them about an hour later to let them know she did, in fact, have an obstruction. When I called to find out if they were sending her to the ER or directly admitting her, I was floored when the nurse told me they were planning on treating her in the rehab center.I said, “Absolutely not,” and insisted to speak with the doctor. They put me on the phone with the nurse practitioner who told me they planned to give her IV fluids, put her on a clear liquid diet and repeat the study. She said she had discussed the plan with the doctor and was comfortable with it. I argued with her that this is unacceptable and not standard of care and insisted they send her to the hospital. She finally said, “Okay,” if I insisted, which I did.FYI, under no circumstances should bowel obstruction EVER be managed outside of a hospital because patients need a CT scan to rule out perforation and make sure there is no dead bowel. They also need to be seen by the surgeons and gastroenterologists. In the ER, they found a partial bowel obstruction with diverticulitis, perforation and microabscesses. If someone had gone to see my mom when she first developed her symptoms or at least ordered the study STAT, I believe she would not have developed diverticulitis and perforation.Had I not asked for the X-ray and insisted they send her to the hospital, she very likely would have died from sepsis. Can you believe they were even resistant to ordering an X-ray?Do not do not do not do not do not send your family here. I can’t emphasize it enough. In my mother’s case, their staff demonstrated gross negligence and incompetence.
