Planet Rock: what do users think?
heroangel20: Super nice staff. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating for first time rope climber like myself. Even the other guest were great and offering help. Tons of different climbing options on both sides of the gym plus an actual weight training gym on the second floor. Highly recommend.
mykaela ott: the only climbing gym i've been to but its hands down the BEST.
Ally Anderson: Friendly staff, great gym area. Wish there was more bouldering area, but honestly still very very good.
Tim Grzadzinski: Great place to go for climbing, both on ropes and bouldering.
Tyler Slouf: The route setting is good, the walls have fun features, and they have a great climbing shoe selection, but it can be very crowded.Staff is generally friendly and helpful.
Rich Endo: One of the better old school climbing gyms. Could use better ventilation (Big A Fans) and chalk scrubber .
Jorge Cisneros: This is a fantastic climbing gym. I had many great routes for top rope, lead climbing, and bouldering. It has a weight gym if you want also. The top rope rating are slightly harder than other places I've climbed.
josef von Buelow: Be sure to schedule your visit at least a day in advance. They will not allow you to climb unless you do their intro class, even if you are experienced. And the class ”has to be scheduled in advance ".
Digital Dealer: Friendly staff and great climbings
Bill Weisberger: I came here with my 4.5 year old daughter on Saturday afternoon so we could climb together, and we were asked to come back in six months because she's not 5 years old. That age restriction isn't written anywhere on the website that I saw, and furthermore I did find that the Spider Monkeys program at this gym is for kids aged 4-6. I can understand wanting to set rules around age for everybody's safety, but in the case where a climber parent comes in with a single child - not a parent coming in with a group of 10 little kids and no hope of keeping an eye on them all - I'm confident we would have been safe. For comparison, I'm sure the adult to kid ratio for the Spider Monkey program is not 1:1, and again that program allows kids younger than my daughter to climb. This is the only climbing gym in the area, so we'll probably be back, but it was a bad experience. Please revisit your age limit rules and consider whether they're necessary or logical.
Nics3451: The size of the gym and the way it is set up is pretty cool. I like that there's a whole room dedicated to bouldering. There is quite a bit of overhang and slab and everything in-between.I do wish there was a cave in the bouldering section - it's kind of why we came to this gym - the cave is in the rope climbing area and the holds and markings in there are a joke. The holds are old and probably haven't been cleaned or replaced since the building opened. It is pretty frustrating when all of the boulder routes start with foot chips that are basically glass. The air filters, also, might be as old a the building. The air in this location is not good - and not because of the chalk. The place needs maintenance, replacements, and cleaning. It could be a great gym, but I wont be back soon.
Daniel Yuang: Great gym, route setters are amazing. I've found the staff to be pretty great. I just wish they would put a bit more effort into cleaning.
Scott Oakes: Great first attempt at this. Austin was articulate, knew his stuff and we had fun with him as a teacher! Cool place, I’m sure we will be back.
Alek K: Rock climbing and shop, and a coffee bar.
Matthew Nelson: This is a majestical climbing gym. Yes, majectic would be standard fare, but this place exceeds that, hence "majestical." I would describe it just so, regardless of it's absence from dictionaries. Go there, and you will be among the most friendly, helpful, and genuine people on the planet. Cheers!
Lexa Dearlove: Great routes, friendly instructors and staff. Can get busy, but still a good time! I am also a fan of the Madison Heights location.
Rahul Singh: A+ great place to learn or advance your skills. Truly feel you are not judged here and everyone is helpful or learning themselves. Staff have always been friendly to work with. Check their website for training classes, prices etc. only downside is it can tend to get to crowded but goes to show climbing’s popularity is increasing.
Matthew Fettes: Well designed routes, options for all skill levels, and a friendly staff.
Alexandria Cell: This is not a bouldering gym. They have a whole bouldering section, and they offer one “one-time bouldering exception”, and if you attempt to go back a second time to boulder, they will require you to take a surprise $45 90-minute top rope certification class. This weirdness unfortunately wasted an hour of my family’s time, as we didn’t budget 3 hours to boulder AND take a 90-minute course.
Nicholas Schlimmer: Ez climb the rock don't let the rock climb you
Reza Beha: Awesome beginner course and facilities.

Rocks and Robots Summer Day Camp: what do users think?
Alicia Abbott: My granddaughter has been attending this camp since 2016. This year she will go for two weeks. This camp has been great for encouraging my granddaughter in an area we should all be encouraging our children in........ computer programming. I am always amazed as she explains the "how's" and "whys" she programmed her robot. My husband is a computer programmer and he said that our granddaughter is learning stuff that he did not learn until he was in college. This camp has been great for her self esteem. The first year she went she learned about robotics and also learned about rock climbing. She was nervous about the rock climbing part, however, the camp counselors were so supportive she took to the rock climbing like a fish to water. Every summer my granddaughter looks forward to attending Rocks and Robots.
Eric McGlohon: My son has been going to this camp for quite a few years, and it's always a good time. Dr. George is always extremely helpful with the kids. My son is not very athletic, but rock climbing has been a great confidence builder!

Liberty Athletic Club: what do users think?
Aaron Shady: Shelby was absolutely wonderful.. other young lady has a Very Nasty attitude and is Extremely condescending… really wanted to join this club but now very hesitant after dealing with such a poor attitude, especially when dealing with a future member. Completely unacceptable and is very unfortunate. She should not be behind the front desk representing this club.
Mike Juras: Great club. Nice courts. Looks like a lot of fun amenities.
Alison: Edited to Add:After being a member for over a year I still like Liberty but think they could upgrade some things. The chairs by the pool look worn out, mismatched and cheap, not representative of a higher end club. They don’t have shampoo and conditioner in the locker rooms. Other similar priced clubs in my experience have these. We have been a member of Liberty Athletic Club for several years, it can be a little on the pricier side but the facilities are nice, and if you come here often it's definitely worth it. The gym is nice, and the play area, pools and outdoor pools and slides for kids are wonderful.
Loyd Gitari: Spacious gym, six indoor tennis courts - plus outdoor; indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Nice place all around.
Matthew Stewart-Fulton: Excellent facilities, comprehensive services. It comes with a higher price than other facilities but you get your money's worth.
A “Nightmare” T: Critical:Communication,ProfessionalismSave your money, Planet Fitness has better equipment and is around the corner. Also theres real yoga across the street at Imagine Fitness.
Richard Belanger: Nice lap pool and outdoor pool complex for the summer. Good for tennis as well.
Luke Tracy: I’ve enjoyed being a member. The club is well run and well equipped.
Dennis Sylvester: Great facility and community. Highly recommend.
Anita Bengry: Great club, friendly staff
Julie Stetten: We've just returned after a 5 year break, we had to join as new members. But the great thing is that 4 personal training sessions were included, a family pass for friends, a spa coupon for a free massage, and many others.I love the energy of the place and that there are people of ALL ages, babies to very seasoned, and everyone in the middle. I've started in the "oldies classes" with Joan and she is beyond inspirational and teaches so well, I always can follow, and she constantly reminds us of form and proper position. Our Personal Trainer, Brian, is also SO knowledgeable and we are learning the basics of proper posture and alignment, and how to use the machines correctly. All of our staff interactions have been kind and professional. The club is totally worth the fee and monthly cost, and you get so many classes from which to choose. So much better than spending the same fee for just one yoga class somewhere else. If I can't make one timeslot , there is another one I can do, or use my personal exercise plan. The physical property is well maintained and clean. The outdoor pools for laps and the other pool for kids are safe with life guards. Our kids loved hanging out and playing basketball. It was just great for them to be in a safe environment with no access to TVs, just physical playing.WELL WORTH THE COST!!!
Oso Proper: Not the best gym to go to. Every time I went last year something's closed or they close for employee parties or something's shut down.on on.like the pool and jacuzzi, or half the entire place! One rude blonde lady at front desk..idkNot worth the cost imo, dirty showers, and they charge for tennis?seriously . I paid $20 to get in and didnt get to use the shutdown areas and they dont seem to care. I've been to nicer clubs
Stephanie C: I was visiting the area for a weekend. I wanted to go to 2 classes....apparently this gym doesn't have day passes. It is the FIRST fitness center in all my years of travel to all different states (and countries) that doesn't have a day pass program. I was completely turned off by this policy that smacks of snobbery.
Jake L: Nice facility, but the cost of it is not proportional when compared with other rec centers.
Andra bostian Ferguson: Best place in town ! Clean, friendly, great equipment, great variety of classes. No judgment zone.
Candice Roth: Very nice facilities! The staff and owner are very friendly and helpful. We love the cafe and the pools too. The child care options are great too and add so much to the membership value. We really enjoy the club and it is perfect for families!
Audrey Newell: Facilities are very good but some staff are really nasty. For decades, at the end of every year, they sent all members a free guest pass for up to 4 people. They said it was a holiday "gift" to members. I loved these, and saved them for special occasions when I was bringing a family. It was fine if I brought a 2012 ticket in 2013. But today, all of a sudden the front desk staff said I could not use my 2013 "gift" in 2016. Imagine if someone gave you a birthday present and later snatched it back from you. Nice facilities, just be prepared for occasional meanness.
kusull kim: If only they had beds...I would so move in!!! 😬
Joe Superfruit: Best place for my kids and me
Robin Weber Pollak: Our whole family LOVES Liberty. The family pools, indoor and outdoor, are fantastic. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and on the ball. The equipment and facilities are well maintained and up-to-date. The day care staff and space are excellent. It is well worth the membership cost.
belgerian: They do have sign up fee plus the first 2 months fee upfront. The monthly family membership is more than most but you get more for you money. Life guarded pool times for kids, the child care, the play area kids over 8 do not have to be accompanied in the play area or if the pool is lifeguarded. In the summer time outdoor pool is life guarded. The facility is very clean staff is very courteous, and there have been times I have left my ipod on a machine even left my phone in locker room and it was returned to the desk. parking on site. I have tried the local YMCA which is less for a family membership but we went back to liberty they are more family friendly. I even checked into the local wellness center it is a nice facility but for a membership of 4 the monthly cost is not that much less and they are more restrictive on unaccompanied children.
