Saif: I’m not a runner but need good quality shoes for walking due to biomechanical foot issues. While I order online like many there are times when expertise and high quality stock/selection is worth the few bucks you (might save online) and my visit and subsequent purchase proves that. Crystal took care of me initially, understood what I needed and brought five pairs of shoes. Then tells me go ahead try them outside. Never been offered that before and you can’t do that online. I settled on Hoka biondi 8s and not because they are a ‘thing’. They were the best choice for my needs. I asked for another color and they had one pair in my size so when they came Terri completed the sale but also provided more information as well. Overall, it was a great experience in a homey, neighborhood environment with knowledgeable staff and lots of choices of quality footwear you don’t find at DSW.

Terry was fantastic and took the time to do exactly that and recommended multiple different options for me to choose from. I've had good experiences at some of the other local running stores too but none of them put as much thought and care into getting me in the right shoes.

I recently purchased track and field spikes from the Ann Arbor Running Company, I called ahead while at work and they were able to set two different pairs aside for me to try on. I stopped in 20 minutes before closing (Which I usually feel bad about) and the employee there was super helpful, very friendly, and I was very grateful to find spikes in my size for my track meet the next day

I have gotten two pairs of shoes from Ann Arbor Running Company, and I have never been disappointed! There are several different styles and brands available in store and online. I liked a style of Hoka shoes that were carried in store, but I wanted a different color. Catherine was able to order the style and color that I wanted, and then have the shoes delivered to the store. I also recently ordered a pair of Saucony shoes from Ann Arbor Running Company online, and I received them in the mail the next day. Emily Zurales: I had an awesome experience here with Tim. He was very attentive and willing to listen to all of my concerns/thoughts about my feet and shoe wear patterns! He used the data from the foot and connected it back to what I had said about my feet. He brought a bunch of options for shoes, and two orthotic insert options. He was not at all pushy that I get the insert and had me try on the first pair with the insert in one shoe and not the other! This made it so clear how important the insert was for my foot type. I felt like he gave me the tools to make the decision about the insert. He was super knowledgable about feet and all of the different shoes and how my feet might feel in them. He was also super personable and friendly overall. 10/10 would recommend.

Paige Compagner: My husband and I stopped by with our newborn and had a great experience! Paul was very helpful, he used their system to recommend the best pair of shoes for my husband based on a scan of his feet and Paul’s visual assessment of how he walks. My husband tried on a few pair, and the top system-generated recommendation was his favorite! Paul made sure we went home with the correct size by assessing the fit on my husband’s foot and answered all of our questions. It was a busy day when we visited and he managed the flow of traffic very well! We left with a quality pair of shoes. We’re to grateful for Paul and his expertise :)

Carel Allen: Fleet Feet lost a customer. I needed new shoes from a brand that no one discounts. So I thought I should give the local store the business vs direct from the manufacturer. Now that this store is run by Fleet Feet it is a cluster to order after hours/on-line. Ordered on-line for store pickup. First, they accept a promo code then rejected it during checkout. Maddening! Eventually paid full retail and submitted my order. The next day they cancelled the order because the shoes on hand were “less than perfect condition.” In this day in age it is ridiculous to confirm with a customer that the local store has stock … without really knowing what stock is on hand.

I didn't catch the gal's name that helped us but she was very patient and knowledgeable. She watched him walk and then tried on a bunch of shoes until he found a pair he felt comfortable in. Naznin Mahmood: Went there to get my daughter running shoes but all they did was hand her boxes of different brand and inserts. No measurement of feet or looking at arches even from a distance. I watched my daughter struggle to get inserts into the shoes to work out while a possibly 20 year old stood back at a great distance. Not like the fitting had when I went to a different store for my running shoes. If I bother coming out to the shoe store it means I want to have good service and fit especially for running shoes. Not going back there even after pandemic.

RO: Neither my partner or I run, but we do a lot of walking and hiking and both needed shoes. We went into the store and were blown away by the expertise of the staff, we were helped by Chris. He went so far beyond just knowledge of the shoes. He listened to our concerns and watched us walk and then had us try on the shoes he thought would be the best fit for us and our needs. He spent a considerable amount of time helping us and made it seem like there was nothing more important at the moment.Bottom line is they're not there to sell you something. They are there to help you find the best shoe for your feet!!!
