Dan Chebowski: Excellent servicing of my septic tanks. The owner personally came out and performed the cleaning and inspection of the tanks. He was very careful in protecting the property from damage by parking on the street by adding extra hose lengths to pump the tanks. He also found and removed a tree root and gave me some advice to remedy that for the future. I also noticed he did a much more through job in cleaning the bottom of the tanks than the previous service providers. Overall, I am very happy with D&J Septic Services and will be using them again in the future.Service:Sewer cleaning
paul kraft: This is the absolute worst porta potty’s I have ever had to use. I have been on a job site where they supply the porta potties for about a year. In a years time they have never been sprayed out seats and floors have never been cleaned hand sanitizer is changed once every 2 months if you are lucky. I would consider other places for your events as I have seen carnival porta potties that are cleaner.
Tim W: Very disappointed. Called to schedule septic cleaning. After digging out the tank lid the day they were supposed to arrive they did not due to understandable circumstances. We rescheduled for ten days later.That day came around and they again could not come out due to understandable circumstances. I was very flexible and understanding.We rescheduled again for the following week. The day they were supposed to arrive D&J was a no call no show. Three days later I was contacted by email and was told to call someone else and that they wouldn’t be able to provide me the service they had agreed to do.

Got some good advice for preventative maintenance: checking the filter and had some small roots that need to be killed off before they became a problem.

Michael Kraft: I hired D & J to clean my septic tanks, and in short they were fantastic. The technician who was on the job was knowledgeable, and very quickly identified that the last company that we had hired to clear our tanks did a poor job - he took time to explain what we found, and why he believed they did a poor job (yet in a way to not "bad mouth" another company, but to make sure we knew what was important to maintain our septic system properly). Then he went above and beyond and spent nearly 2 hours working to get our tanks cleaned out. He also gave some other advice to help maintain our septic system. The listed price was more than fair....but on top of that he did not charge anything extra for the additional service/work and advice. I will absolutely be using D & J for our future needs, no question. Hire them, you won't be disappointed.

David Plants: Lets be honest, most anyone can pump a septic tank. However D & J went above and beyond. After Danielle finished pumping the tank, she noticed the baffle had fallen off. This is a critical piece and needed to be replaced. Understand my house was built in 1926 so Jake had his work cut out for him. He spent over 3 hours in 90* heat making sure the job was done correctly. When I offered to fill in the hole after it cooled down he said he wanted to finish the job and he did. A great job done by Danielle and Jake. This is a family owned business so if you want to support a local business you can't go wrong with D & J.

Matt Schafer: We had to have an emergency replacement of our septic system per Wayne County. The field needed to be relocated to the other side of the driveway, 2 tanks had to be added (one was a pumper) and the old laundry bypass had to be eliminated. John responded the same day I called and was able to come out and look at the site the next day so he could provide an estimate (there was no charge for this). They were able to squeeze us in quickly as it was an emergency repair and did an outstanding job. Out of all the contractors we've used recently on a different project, John and Gary have been one of the most knowledgeable, easiest to work with and by far the best at letting us know what was going on and when they would be at the site.

Farina Mir: Appreciated that Michigan Power Rodding was able to send someone out on the same day that we called. But wish they were more honest about billing and services provided. The tech spent no more than 15 minutes on the job, for which we received an exorbitant bill. The invoice listed the use of particular machines (with their technical names/numbers). But the tech didn't use any machine. When we raised the billing with the manager and the fact that the invoice didn't accurately describe the job performed, he said it's "he said/she said." Really? The guy didn't use a machine, lingered in our driveway after the job (which perhaps accounts for the amount of time we were told he spent "on the job"). I appreciate that they got the job done. But the billing was simply unfair for the task. Beware before using them.Thanks for your response below. We must have a different sense of the value of money. Charging $172 for less than 15 minutes of work seems exorbitant to me. Leaving that aside, the issue is really one of trust. We called to ask why such a quick repair was so expensive. Your staff, including your manager, told us it was because the repair took over 30 minutes (not true) and because the tech used a machine to clear the drain (also not true). You say "there was little we were going to be able to do." Also untrue. But since I had trusted you by giving you my credit card number without seeing the bill and you had already charged it and been paid, you made a choice to do nothing. But you're paid, so you're good. Said she could get someone out here between 7-10 (!)! Tech arrived, took care of business reaming out roots in the sewer 100’ to the street, saving me from rearranging my whole day of clients tomorrow (never mind flushing no toilets or taking any shower or using any water until someone could come). No “after hours” up charge unless you call them after 9pm!!! Nicholas Cook: This company really cares about its reputation and the work/services the company provides. I called with an emergency and they sent a tech out within thirty minutes. The tech fixed the primary issue with ease. Without going into detail, there was a secondary issue that was temporarily fixed that night, and the next morning the service manager and another tech showed up to complete the second piece. The service manager was exceptional, and made sure that I was happy when everything was completed. It is also worth noting that the representative that answers their phones is wonderful. My fiance called this company 2 days prior to coming out and spoke with someone about TAKING A LOOK to see what would need to be done in order to remove our septic tank. Fees, services, etc. were NOT disclosed on the phone, nor did we agree to have any services performed during their visit. The company showed up today and within 5 minutes of being here they began pumping out MAYBE a few inches of water within the tank without prior consent or knowledge of today's "service", just for one of the guys to tell my fiance "just take a sledgehammer and break the top in yourself or we can come back out and do it" AND WE WERE CHARGED $250 for nothing. I find it absolutely shady and HORRIBLE business practice that we were charged for absolutely nothing besides "advice". If services were to be done, even inspection fees, it should have been disclosed prior to their visit. Very disappointed in the lack of communication and basic robbery. Will NOT be using or recommending this company again.
Emily Reimold: We had an emergency situation and called dozens of places on a Friday, only to be told Monday at the earliest. Got thru to these guys around 1:45pm that same Friday. Was told they weren't sure if they could fit us but but would see what they could do. They kept in contact over the next couple of hours.They were amazing at fitting us in and the driver arrived around 6:45pm that SAME DAY! He was courteous, knowledgeable and got right down to business. Not to mention, fast! He was pulling out of our driveway no later than 7:15pm! I hope I never have to be in this situation ever again and plan to use this company on a regular basis in the future!

Kelly Smid: We have used Al Pearson & Son Septic Cleaning for over 30 years. They have always been reliable. They have came the same day I have called or the very next day. Very friendly and courteous. Another plus is they are reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend anyone to use their services.
Kelly Hernandez: Horrible experience! They caused a lot of damage, which they refused to take any responsibility for and charged us to fix! They were very dishonest in their work.They started digging without locating our septic tanks first, nor surveying for lines, and ended up cutting our electric power line. When the tanks were located, it was 17' from their first dig. They never would have hit it had they staked and measured, doing the work to actually locate them.Also, since they did not locate the tanks first, they ended up having the excavator directly on top of the tanks. When the back tank was exposed, it was found to have a collapsed hole in the top. They claimed the heavy soil was the issue, yet, with no previous signs of failure, nor any sinkholes or cave-ins of the land above, it became clear that the damage was most likely due to that massive excavator on top.They told us one verbal quote, that changed onsite with the new issues, and when we received the final bill, several thousands of dollars more was added on. When we tried to dispute the charges (especially the charges to "locate the tanks" and "fix electric line"), the man on the phone became verbally aggressive and denied any fault.
