Alicia Abbott: My granddaughter has been attending this camp since 2016. This year she will go for two weeks. This camp has been great for encouraging my granddaughter in an area we should all be encouraging our children in........ computer programming. I am always amazed as she explains the "how's" and "whys" she programmed her robot. My husband is a computer programmer and he said that our granddaughter is learning stuff that he did not learn until he was in college. This camp has been great for her self esteem. The first year she went she learned about robotics and also learned about rock climbing. She was nervous about the rock climbing part, however, the camp counselors were so supportive she took to the rock climbing like a fish to water. Every summer my granddaughter looks forward to attending Rocks and Robots.
Eric McGlohon: My son has been going to this camp for quite a few years, and it's always a good time. Dr. George is always extremely helpful with the kids. My son is not very athletic, but rock climbing has been a great confidence builder!

Kim Phillips-Knope: Our son has been attending this camp for years and he absolutely loves it! Larissa and the camp counselors do a wonderful job of engaging the campers in activities that help them connect with and appreciate all the ways that the natural world sustains us. He's learned skills he puts into practice at home and when we're out camping, and most of all he has a great time doing it! We can't get enough of Blue Turtle Nature Camp!

Heidi Dibble: Awesome summer camp for kids. Hands on learning of nature and wilderness topics. Larissa is wonderful and my kids (ages 7, 8, 10) are asking when they get to go back!
Sheri Stankorb-Geiselman: This is by far my kids' favorite summer camp in Ann Arbor! If they could only pick one camp, this would be it. The kids do all kinds of wilderness and nature-based activities, and always come home with the coolest creations, but that honestly doesn't seem to add up to what makes the place so magical. I think it's what Larissa has built, and how her counselors are with the kids that makes it so fun for them. Even my daughter who does not particularly love day camps looks forward to Blue Turtle every year.
Kristen Drozdowski: Blue Turtle is by far the best camp in this area! We have gone for multiple years, and my son talks about things he has learned all year long. This year he begged me to sign him up next year. I truly notice that his total state of being takes a noticeable shift during his week of camp. I know it has mostly everything to do with the nourishing, engaging and fun way this camp is run. You can tell the kids are cared about and that the organizers have a true passion for what they are doing. Nothing else compares! He has been in such a good mood, full of wonder and adventure, I am so thankful this camp exists, Thank you Larissa and team!
Niki Green: Our children look forward to going to Blue Turtle Camp each summer and have declared it, "the best camp ever!" From drumming, to learning new recipes, to whittling wood, to learning three ways to start a fire, in addition to other survival skills, Blue Turtle Camp is a beautiful, nature-filled camp with enthusiastic, fun counselors and a wonderful Director.
Alexa Lokensgard: My son has learned such valuable skills and feels such belonging at Blue Turtle. This is his second year and it is truly one of the highlights of his entire summer. He loves the wood skills, making beautiful crafts and snacks, and all the wilderness learning. The drum circles, mindfulness, and breathwork are such beautiful additions to a full, exciting, and stimulating week.
Scott Whitehouse: Excellent camp for kids. A lot of thought and care goes into creating a safe, memorable, and meaningful experience for the kids. Love the traditions and age-appropriate rites of passage that the kids look forward to and work hard to achieve. Continuity, sense of community, integrity, fun, and deep ecological/ethical principles taught -- it's the whole package in one camp!
