Goldfish Swim School - Ann Arbor: what do users think?
Brittany Stepnowski: We always have a great visit! The staff are helpful and encouraging! :)
Leann Kuebler: They continue to make great progress. Very happy with these lessons
GREG KEYS: Our kids have loved taking swim lessons at Gold Fish - Ann Arbor. The staff has been very accommodating and went above and beyond. I highly recommend enrolling your kids
Elizabeth: The teachers are great. We had some issues but the manager took care of them.
Laura Torres-Valencia: All instructors we have interacted with are super patient, professional, safety driven, and super friendly. Our daughter loves her swimming lessons at Goldfish! :)
Niliay P: The staff seems nice however I do not think that group classes are worth it, my daughter is very excited to go to the classes each week but I have seen little to no progress. There is very little time dedicated to each child. Todays class was specially disappointing because one of the kids in the class would not get off the instructor and so the instructor was trying to teach the other kids while still having this other child hanging on to her neck, which obviously is not practical, no one else seemed to care or take attention so that the rest of the class could carry on. Today was a huge waste of a class, time and money !
Gabriela Coleman: This location has certainly been through a lot of turnover, but I’ve observed improvements in staffing over the past few months. Some instructors are stronger than others, but I can attest that 80% of the time, my child has had a solid instructor.I wish class sizes were capped at 3 children, but it’s currently 4 kids for group lessons, which only provides each kid a total of ~7 min of individual instruction for a decent sized monthly fee. But I do understand the business model.
Cherie Lucille: Friendly and safe services, my kiddo loves it!
Bradley Johnson: My family enrolled our 4-year-old son in Goldfish Swim School, and unfortunately, our experience was less than satisfactory. During one of his lessons, our son became too scared and refused to go again. He told us that he was allowed to sink, causing him fear and discomfort. Despite our efforts to reach out to the school for clarification on the situation, we were unable to get a response as phone calls and messages were left unanswered. The lessons were advertised as 30-minute sessions, but in reality, each child only received 10 minutes of instruction due to the rotating nature of the classes. When we attempted to cancel our enrollment, we were required to pay for an additional month, which added further frustration to an already negative experience. I cannot recommend Goldfish Swim School to others as it did not meet our expectations for a safe and effective swim instruction environment for our child. There are better options in Ann Arbor.
Shannon Svilar: My kids have been going and absolutely love it. It has been a very positive experience for us all. Every instructor they've had has kept it exciting for them because they keep it fun and engaging. I'd definitely recommend.
Dmitry Mikhaylov: My 4-year old daughter has been attending Goldfish swimming classes for a year now, and I am very satisfied with her progress. We started at Junior 1, and now she is Glider 2.
John Canetta: Most of the instructors are subpar and you pay for 30 minutes and get only 20 minutes if that. It’s a total ripoff. My daughter went there for a year and still doesn’t know how to swim.
Deep Singh: Good People Good Services 👍
Leanna Delhey: Great place! The teachers have been fun and encouraging. My daughter talks about swim all week long. Bonus, parents have good seats and a nice view of class through glass wall.
Rossy G: Staff is not friendly, or at least not to us. We didn't get any information or explanation about first time, schedule, etc.. I'd look for another location or different school.
EVG Getsoian (EVG): Great place for little ones to learn to swim. Love the small class sizes. He’s really progressed. He can swim almost all strokes. He has made great progress. Highly recommend!
D Skaggs: Weekly lessons are the best way to keep your child's skills and build up to higher levels of swimming.
Mike: Absolutely awful. My wife and I were treated horribly and forced to cover our faces while in the pool. It was the first time my daughter swam and she couldn’t even see me smile at her and comfort her. Then the instructor had the audacity to tell me to cover my nose with my mask while he himself was wearing nothing but a face shield. Their Covid policies are completely antithetical to the science. They then continued to charge our credit card the next month and refused us a refund. We will never be going back
Nana Ama Kwarteng Baryeh: Customer centered and kids friendly.
Munish Kumar: It’s a good swimming school for kids. Instructors are very good and always attentive. Poor area and water is always warm so kids have no problem in going into water. Clean and well maintained.
Paige Espinoza: Amazing classes for my toddlers, very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend

Orchard Hills Athletic Club: what do users think?
Kelly VanEe: OHAC is a great pool! It is run by wonderful people who keep it looking beautiful and in tip-top shape. I enjoy swimming laps there as well as attending some of the fun social events the staff plans.
Joey Ryan: Very nice community pool in a good neighborhood with very enjoyable patrons and staff. Great summer job for experience as a lifeguard.
Anne McKee: OHAC is a great bargain for high quality family activities and fitness. It's not just a pool but a community, Well supervised, with plenty of seating its a great way to spend those warm days. The swim program seems ideal with more emphasis on team, technique and sportsmanship than competition. Young swimmers, especially, have a very positive experience. There are also casual social events for the family from Memorial Day, 4th of July and the last day of school. This club is one of the best ways to become part of the neighborhood.
Ann Arbor Bunnell Family: This pool is the centerpiece of our summer. Our kids meet up with their friends and enjoy the swim and dive team. It was a great way for us parents to meet more people in northeast Ann Arbor, and the Friday night potlucks are a great tradition and open to everyone. The family membership is a bargain for two pools, and these two assets are part of what makes our neighborhood so awesome. Looking forward to another fun summer coming up.
Laura Ganzel: Nice facilities, friendly atmosphere. I like that they offer so many sports and programs over the summer.
Jill Shannon: We love our neighborhood pools. They are the place to be in the summer. We have met so many new neighbors here. We enjoy the social activities and our kids are on the swim/dive team.
Linda Klimach: This is a great family pool with activities for all ages: Swim and dive teams for kids, lessons for both children and adults, lots of family-friendly opportunities, and this include the dogs, who have their own dog-swim event after the pool closes for the season! Members can rent the pools for birthday parties or have an adults-only party (with adult beverages) for so much less than anywhere I know.
Susan Wyman: We love this pool! Great place to meet up with friends and neighbors. We like to bring food to grill on the grill there and potluck on weekends. They host a 4th of July party and other social activities. Great family atmosphere. Kids love the lifeguards. The swim and dive team is really fun and an excellent source of swim lessons for kids of all abilities. Great value!
Hannah McNaughton: Our family absolutely loves OHAC. It's never too crowded, is heated (YEAH!!!), is affordable, and is so convenient if you live on the northeast side of Ann Arbor. We spend nearly every day at the pool throughout the summer. I just wish I had known about it sooner!

Fuller Park Pool: what do users think?
Paul Stewart: Great 50m outdoor pool. Not too crowded usually.
Gami Lannin: The best pool. They play music and call an adult swim at 10 to the hour nice place for the kids to. Love it here
Judy Wismont: Haven't been in a public pool for decades. So impressed. Rubber lining in pool easy on feet. 10 minutes an hour devoted to adult swim. Chairs, pool toys (rings to dive for), shallow end, circular water slide, all make for a lovely time.
Melissa Reitz: Rock star lifeguard today at 11am: two lap swimmers collided, lifeguard stood up and kindly said "are you OK?, sir: you are on the correct side of the lane, mam :you are on the wrong side of the lane" Then she remained standing while swimmers worked it out and circle swam counterclockwise
Candice Mink: Very cool spot, prices are very reasonable, and the kids always have a blast. I enjoyed the deep side of the pool.
Patrick Krass: Wow, so impressed by this place. Friendly staff and a great pool with a really fun water slide. It was also extremely affordable and we could bring in a cooler or our water and food!I’ll definitely return when I’m in Ann Arbor.
Chris Z: Best kid’s friendly outdoor swimming pool in metro Detroit area.
Deborah Wilt Gaiser: First time visitor. Will return. Great experience.
Kelly Hunter: I have never been to a better public pool! The pool and restrooms are incredibly clean. The staff is so friendly and very professional. This is an incredibly well run facility. I appreciate that they have rules in place to ensure a safe experience for all individuals. I see that someone recently posted a complaint about the lifeguards not allowing their husband to engage in horseplay or have their child climb the railings. As a mother of young children I am grateful to know that the lifeguards are looking after all patrons and making sure that the rules are followed. Many of the guards are teens who have gone through a lot of training to provide a safe environment for all. They probably don't appreciate it when adults get angry at them just for enforcing the rules, which is an integral part of the lifeguard's job. My kids and I have always managed to have a lot of fun at Fuller without breaking the rules and we appreciate the lifeguards there.
Ellen Driscoll: The facility itself is amazing. The staff seems to have a really hard time with the letter of the law vs. the spirit of the rule. Everyone is calmly moving around but whistles are constantly blowing. A young dad is carrying his toddler on his back in the water. Whistle blows. They say it’s “horseplay”. A 4 year old is holding onto the giant zero entry ramp rail. Whistle blows. “No hanging on the rail!” When I asked about clarification of a rule, the lifeguard I asked immediately got defensive and flustered. It’s the end of a long summer, but man, those guys must ate burned out and it’s sucking the joy out of the experience. Need more mature guards that have discernment and empathy.
Katie Tice: $5 daily admission, can't beat that.
Adam Whitfield-DeMolen: Favorite community pool to visit throughout the summer.
Meghann Lamb: We are not from the area and happened upon this place on a whim and we are so glad we did! The pools are nice and well kept with several different areas, including a great shallow area for the kids. They have a few pergolas with couches and cushions that are free and some other nice lounging options besides the standard beach chairs. The restrooms were well kept and not smelly (so hard to find in a public swimming place). My oldest daughter enjoyed the play castle outside and the sand area inside. All of the staff were smiling, friendly and seemed happy to be there. I haven't been to a public pool in over 10 years and honestly couldn't believe how nice this place is. And, the price is great; I honestly wouldn't have had a problem paying double what we did.
Erik: Clean, not too crowded, and well organized. Had a good time!
William Bryan: You can't bring your family to A2 pools half the time anymore because they reserve much of the day for lap swims. Then you're only allocated a two hour window with a fixed start and end time. Basically you have to plan your day around Ann Arbor pools now.
Pamela AA: Their system to book in advance is really convenient and practical.Facilities are nice and clean.
Ron: Peaceful
Daniella Fremstad: Great outdoor pool. Not busy in morning. Reserved lane and general pool and just switched with my husband. Kids loved it (not sure if can bring pool toys but may want to check as it would have been more fun for them to have something to play with).
Joe Hood: Nirvana
Bethany McCormick: Pretty decent pool, except the water slide was broken when we went and apparently has been for some time.
Hannah Fritz: What on earth happened to fuller? Get some new employees who know how to explain changes instead of 1) having people spend a half an hour at the pool only to find out that google and the website is incorrect and you just spent your money to settle in and leave (or pay again) and 2) of there aren’t enough chairs to accommodate people and they’re left to lay in the grass….remove the pesticide signs? Don’t spray it there? Maybe reconvene and add some chairs or at least have your employees let you know while you’re registering for the day. What in the actual heck? Get an adult manager on-site.
