Tracy McLean (Anonymous): This place is amazing. I have used it since I was younger and now they just tailored a dress for my daughter. Even though they are busy at times, they run like a well-oiled machine. The woman who measures is absolutely amazing - measuring, answering phones, taking payment, writing up receipts, etc! She knows her stuff and if she can't do something, she won't, which is better than taking it in and not being able to do it correctly. She also gives great tips on the items you bring in - like spraying prom shoes with shellac so the dress doesn't rub! She saved my daughter from being miserable all night! Thank you for great, quality service and I hope that you never go out of business!

AD: I came in to get a zipper fixed on my winter coat; the experience was so wonderful, and refreshing. I was quoted $150 from a different tailor to put in a new zipper on my coat. Sofia( I think was her name) was absolutely wonderful! She fixed my coat at no charge! Wow! Talk about customer service!! Turns out the zipper was not broken, just stuck. She took the time to troubleshoot and not blindly charge me $150. That was so kind. The world is so ugly right now, but this place, this place is full of peace and kindness. What a wonderful experience. I finally found a tailor :).

Cara Cha: I have been going to Ojen for my past several years as a business student. Additionally, my personal fashion sense dives into streetwear fashion. Not only has she been able to perfectly resize my personal oversize, streetwear style to shape around my body in the right places, but she has also helped me to find the best sizing for the more elegant, formal business clothing that I wear as well. I had a set of oversized cargos that now hug my waist perfectly thanks to Ojen. I have also had several different jeans and business slacks altered by her and each clothing piece has come out beautifully. She truly takes time and effort to make each clothing item as close to perfection as possible. Not to mention, I get plenty of compliments about these specific clothes because of how well they frame my body. I've attached a picture of some jeans that she restored (the back-pockets were worn out). I don't think anyone would guess that those pockets didn't come with the original jeans. Elizabeth Trebbien: I came in off the street and, while appointments are normally required, they were super kind and helpful - I had a long bridesmaid dress that needed altering and they did an amazing job and got it back to me ahead of schedule. The price was reasonable for the length and the number of layers and the whole process was smooth and transparent. I would go back!!

Zane Kadish: I just picked up a suit jacket that I needed to have tailored for a wedding this weekend. I recently dropped some weight and the jacket had a lot of extra material in a number of places. Ojen took my measurements, the jacket, and my phone number and worked her magic. She called me back for a second fitting to see that she was moving in the right direction ( she was) and was great at keeping me updated via text with the status of the work. When I picked the jacket up today, it fit perfectly and got about as close to customer as you can get without a custom/expensive suit. I'll definitely be bringing more of my clothing back for alterations moving forward.

Had my sweater altered and was surprised when the shop owner said I didn’t need to try it on upon pickup, saying “it’s just a sweater.” Got home and found that the job was done shockingly badly— asymmetrical, bunching, too big. Went back and shop owner declined to give full refund. Had to take item elsewhere and pay all over again. Thank goodness the sweater didn’t have major sentimental value.Service:Alterations

Raw Soundz Ent: Terrible experience today. I came to this exact location 6 months ago to get 5 patches sewn on a vest. I have lost weight since then and the vest become way too big. I purchased the SAME EXACT VEST in a smaller size. I removed the patches from the old vest (that this location sewed on previously) and bring them in today with my new vest (same exact vest as before, different size) and today the gentleman tells me “I cannot do it, the pockets are too small and you wouldn’t be able to use the pockets” mind you I remember him mentioning this on the last vest, but it turned out it was done completely fine and all pockets could be used. After reminding him he did this same exact service on the same exact type of vest for me before he simply laughed in my face and replied “maybe it can be done, but it’s just too much work” wow. Just finding parking is stressful to even bring something in here downtown. I regret returning to this establishment as a patron. Never again.UPDATE: immediately after I left I went to tabs alterations on Plymouth and the extremely nice woman completed it with no issues even sane day within hours! I know where I’m going from now on :)

I brought in my shirt to WG Tailors to see if they could do it within a week and the owner had no problem doing so and was very kind. The price was also very reasonable with no extra charge for doing it within the week.I had visited two other tailors who both stated that they would not be able to do it within the week timeframe that I needed so I really appreciate WG Tailor being there for me in a time crunch. When I went to pick it up as scheduled, I was told “Oh I should have called you, it’s not ready yet.” I went back the next day, tried the dress on, and it was altered way too small and didn’t fit. I went back a THIRD time, tried the dress on, and noticed a LARGE grease stain on a very obvious part of the dress. The owner repeatedly denied liability despite the fact that I was there less than 24 hours prior and the dress had no stain. She said “it’s nobody’s fault.” This was the day I needed to leave town for the wedding - I had a RUINED dress with no options or time to have it cleaned, and no idea what cleaning solution to try at home because she refused to tell me what kind of grease it could have been.After a ruined dress and incredibly unprofessional service, I will not be back.Service:Alterations

I asked if they could install the zipper if I bought the proper length. Answer: yes. I returned with the proper zipper. A different person told me there was nothing wrong with the zipper on the coat. I said that more than half the time it gets stuck. She said, “No, it doesn’t.” Then she turned and walked away.I then went to another seamstress. She looked at the coat snd what installing a new zipper would entail, explained it all, and said the world would be well over a hundred dollars. I understood, appreciated her honesty and her explanation, and left feeling I had been treated politely and honestly. I will never go back to the first seemstress.Service:Alterations
Jyadon: The woman who runs the store is very nice and professional. We loved her work. But we went in today to see if we could add a minor detail and there was another woman who was extremely rude and unprofessional. She claimed that she wouldn’t touch the previous seamstress’ work (even though we weren’t asking her to), gave us a hard time about our small request, and at the end of the conversation said, “I won’t do it. Goodbye,” and walked away from us. It’s important to note that we weren’t rude to this woman at all and we were just trying to work with her.

The actual work was terrible and even when I got to the car From picking them up, I could see the “alteration” was done with glue which was already not sticking. The other lady DID offer to let them out further but I elected to have her fix her partner’s shoddy repair and will take them elsewhere

Chad Perkins: Came into this shop to get my coat shortened in the sleeves, came back to pick it up, still to long. No big deal, come back and it feels a little short. I take it and decide to wear it for a few hours the next day but decide to go back in and ask if it seems just a little short because it felt uncomfortable and a little short, I was met with a “No, it is not to short. First you complain it was too long and we redo it, now you complain it’s to short, nothing will be done.” When I left it there the second time It was still to long and I wasn’t angry nor was I complaining.I was not complaining and that lady is incredibly rude and I will not come back. This is me complaining, I just wanted my clothes to fit comfortably on me, that’s all. Sorry for coming back a third time.
Kosta Stefanidis: Clearly a shop that provides professional tailoring services, but not for men’s clothing; suit jackets specifically. I have little doubt that the owner/operator and staff are excellent practioners of their craft when it comes to women’s dresses and gowns. However, my experience with a men’s suit jacket showed how inexperienced they were at tailoring such garments. Even the measurements were wrong and hurried. But most importantly, when I clearly showed how unhappy I was with their work, they disagreed (“no, it’s fine!”) and just wanted the other half of the bill (right, it’s pay 50% now and then settle up at pick up). Mixed levels of customer satisfaction with the 2 visits, btw.They’re nice folks overall, and it looks like they have a lot of work, so I wish they would have just told me they don’t do suits. Oh well, I’ll take it somewhere else. Just clothes, but still...

Taylor Winn: Chose this place based off reviews to get a couple pairs of pants taken in. Despite coming in at 5:50 (they close at 6), the owner was able to squeeze me in and get my pants pinned before I left. Took about 4-5 weeks to get done, but admittedly, I dropped them off in the middle of prom season and told her I wasn't in a rush.Only reason for 4 stars vs 5 is that I got a call my pants were ready, and when I went a couple days later to get them, there was a sign on the door that the shop would be closed for the next 10-14 days. Since there was no website, there was no way to know and I left work early and wasted 30 min driving in traffic. However, when I did get them, the work was outstanding and they fit like a dream. Will absolutely be using Quality Alterations in the future.Service:Alterations

Sarah Wawrzaszek: I recently called Lucia with an emergency wedding dress alteration. With my wedding a month away, I needed the bodice of my dress to be a bit bigger to be able to breathe (what bride wants to be uncomfortable on their wedding day?). She made time for me the very same day I called, assured me she could give me the necessary room, and promised it would be done soon even though the work would be very detailed. Not even a week later, she called to say that my dress was done. The dress fit perfectly and I couldn't even tell that she did any work. Brooke Stewlow: I cannot give better raving reviews about this establishment. My wedding dress was Martina Liana and had a lot of intricate bedding and lace; so when I was looking to get alterations done I was nervous about some place that would be able to do a great job. But I was not disappointed! The owner has done most of my dress by hand and you can't even tell that it was altered at all. She moved all the lace applique up when she did the hem, and hand sewed the bust to bring it in. She was amazing with finding the best spots for the bustle and even the best way to hem the dress even though the hem line was different at points with the lace. I have never worked with someone as nice as she is and her skills are beyond topnotch. I will recommend her over and over and over again for anyone's alteration needs.Services:Alterations,Design

Dejan Duric: I bought a sports coat which was too large on a final sale. Safi spotted the problems within minutes and made his plan to fix the coat. Since I'm going abroad for a longer period of time he also made sure to finish the alterations before my flight out of the US. Can't be happier with the coat and with Safi's expertise and great service. Much recommended. Prices are also very very reasonable!

He has done outstanding work and has reasonable prices. Mostly recently I brought in a favorite jacket of mine that was too large(due to a my goal of a weight loss) He made it fit perfectly...the neck, the shoulders, the sides and the sleeves. Emil Lakkis: My biggest issue was poor communication on behalf of the tailor. I was told that my order is going to be ready within two weeks, which is long but totally fine with me. Almost three weeks later I come back only to find out that it is not ready yet.I understand that delays can happen. However, I would expect notification of some form (text or call). A lack of such is just poor service.Additionally, they do not accept credit cards. I had no idea since they never mentioned that. Luckily, I was able to pay with venmo.Service:Alterations

The more jobs i dropped off the past few years, the more she seems intense about her business and warm-hearted… like a good co-worker who is also a friend, who is a blessing to have on your side. She’s done great work hemming jeans, fixing seams, etc. Today she fixed the seam on my new green shirt in the picture… love it!

Perhaps most impressive is that they have been able to meet all my requests, from making alterations in a time crunch (we once had 6 hours before a flight to a formal event) to altering dozens of student dresses and pants for the Huron High School Music Association at an affordable price. Sarah Auerbach: I had taken a bridesmaid dress to get altered downtown, after leaving it there for a month, I got it back one week before the wedding. I took the dress home and it was still too big plus the zipper was getting stuck since it was sewn too close. I called Tab's Alterations to see if they could/had time to help. I dropped off my dress and unfortunately I needed it back in a week for the wedding. I got a call two days before I was supposedtto pick it up and the zipper worked and the dress fit! I couldn't be more impressed! Thank you Tab's for saving the day!

Her service cannot compete with quality alterations on Washtenaw ave.I had a pair of jeans that needed a belt loop stitched back on to the waist. I dropped them off on Tuesday 5/28/19 with a completion date stated to be Thursday 6/6/19. I came in to pick them up on Monday 6/10/19 and she told me that I was confused and that they wouldn’t be done until Thursday 6/13/19.I then showed her the claim check which clearly shows the date I dropped them off, the item to be fixed, and the date when they would be ready. She then told me that she was not going to fix my item and handed it back to me.What a complete waste of time, and an utterly stupid way to lose a customer who has done at least $100 in transactions with her in the course of 3 months
D Gu: I paid $25 to alter a shirt and I was not impressed by quality or turnaround time. The shirt was not ready at the promised pickup time. It was poorly stitched difficult for me to iron press. Will try elsewhere next time.

John Thomas Dodson: Since I discovered Tabs Alterations I haven't used another tailor. The owner was trained by her own mother (who is sometimes to be found working on alterations there) and that kind of generation to generation caring is apparent from the quality of the work to the humanity of those involved in doing it.The alterations are always delivered on time, the prices are reasonable, and the work is always flawless. I've given them some rather complex alterations and am pleased the result every time I use them.And the small things, like remembering your name six months later, speak to the understanding of developing good client relations. This alterations shop offers first rate work and the kind of politeness and sensitivity to the needs of others that would make most customer-oriented businesses envious.Highest recommendation. Chose Tabs!

You shouldn’t pay for terrible job, as lining of the jacket still hanging out. Second, she was extremely rude, didn’t want to admit her faulty work. Try other places in town!

I came in with a jumpsuit that was significantly too small for me and hoping there was a way to make it somehow fit and she quickly came up with a solution. We picked out a denim fabric together and she cut the jumpsuit in half and stitched the denim in the middle which was fitted to my exact measurements.
