Zen Buddhist Temple: what do users think?
Lindsey Johnson: I love this place. Everyone is kind and I always feel grounded and refreshed after service.
Ersyla Nellajoy: the clergy here are 110% for reals. the prostrations and chanting are unfamiliar but the community is all heart an bodidharma mind. they have Public services every Sunday at 10 and they have a family service once a month and have a teen program and they have a camp every summer etc!!!!
Sage Belrose: Lovely services led by people whose names I don't know how to spell 💖The folks here do wonderful community outreach and make a genuine difference in the world.
Joanna Farben: My home away from home :)
Mike Kapetan: A wonderful community.
Dora Diaspora: My home away from home- great weekly lessons, services, and community! Come meditate with us!!
Robert H.: I only had a chance to go about three times to the temple's Sunday meeting before the pandemic hit, but it was very enjoyable. Very friendly people.
Benjamin Ide: The people here are great
julia marenghi: If you want to better yourself mentally to clear your mind, come here. Maybe you want to learn more about Buddha and the Korean culture, so this is the best place to learn.
blackstreet23: Nice temple but quite small.
Jeff Milbourne: Warm and inviting
김혜주Kayt: Very peaceful and beautiful. Everyone is kind and I can't wait to come back.
Ruowen Liu: A place where you can find true peace.
Rory Baker: Great community
Mike McGinnis (Nyojo): Great place to learn and practice meditation. 👍
Savannah Ray Manning: I love the garden, the temple space, and the people. Great way to learn about or deepen Buddhist practice, or simply meditate and socialize.
Kuji Smith: A warm welcoming to all, whether it be your first time at the Temple, or you have been a member for many years. A wonderful spiritual atmosphere.A great place to take the meditation course or yoga classes. If you are experiencing a difficult time/ life event, this is a good place to come to for "centering"one's self.Someone wrote an earlier review and was somewhat concerned for the request of a donation at the services. The Zen Buddhist Temple runs on donations from first time visitors, to members new and old alike. No one is ever denied attendance at the morning or afternoon services on Sunday, for inability to leave a donation. All Christian Churches pass a basket during services for donations to be placed in.The Zen Temple greatly appreciates all donations, but is aware that in this day and agesome may be unable to leave a donation. I cannot emphasize enough the welcoming of all at the ZBT. Its' members are a very diverse group. The two residential priests are available for interviews to discuss your practice and to help you with your practice if you are struggling to keeping it steady, and daily, or are experiencing other issues that are problematic for maintaininga consistent practice. Members participate in a variety of programs, work days, retreats, classes, community service and events and special services.
Jessica Lacosse: Very inclusive of all, spiritually healing temple. Meditation was perfect. Although I have always meditated, it was my first experience at the temple and on Buddha's Birthday of all days! The chants are easy to pick up (they have a paper with the chants printed to help). Would definitely recommend. Important to note, it is NOT in the yellow house shown, but the brick building to the left!! I walked in some poor girls apartment (sorry!)
Joel Szalay: I recently took a five week Introductory Mindful Meditation course at the Zen Buddhist Temple in Ann Arbor.  I had a very positive experience and enjoyed learning various meditation positions and techniques, in addition to mindfulness practice.  It was an experience that allowed me the opportunity to incorporate focus and quiet contentment into my daily routine.  We were able as a group to share our personal experiences with meditation, learning from each other, while gaining a deeper understanding of remaining in the present.  The teacher was wonderful. I would definitely recommend the course for anyone.
Kimmie Rose: This means the world to me
Mandy Barnes: Peaceful people open spiritually and respectful of all. Felt welcome my first time and valued. Donations are how organizations that are non-for profit such as churches and temples maintain themselves. They are not pushy about donations but are very appreciative when patrons can give.
