Sue Z: The way they do business is dishonest. When I bought the Switch here, the staff told me that I had to be a member to make the purchase and the membership fee is around $15 one time. So I paid the money. However, after contacting the customer service, I was told that this is not their policy. What's worse, after a year, I got charged for renewal. So I visited the store to ask but they just gave me the most generic number for customer service. When I called, first time, nobody picked up after 30 min of waiting. The next time, despite the long wait, I was told that because it's more than 48 hours so they can't do anything.

I told them that's it's been a while and I had questions about the Switch and Xbox One X. Micheal answered all (and I mean ALL) of my questions and we had a few laughs doing do. I think I was there for about 20 minutes just asking questions and they put me at ease with their friendly manner and their incredible knowledge. I had no intentions of buying anything on this visit and they didn't try to push anything on me, they just walked me through how much things would cost when I was ready to buy.Thank you so much!

Yen Azzaro: The Upkeep Games is not only a fun business but it offers a valuable community space for kids and adults to meet. We're always greeted with a friendly welcome and lots of free knowledge for our son who is obsessed with trading Pokemon cards. There's never a hard sell and the staff is infinitely patient with questions about even the tiniest details. You can really see that everyone is passionate about sharing and ensuring that people have fun. I can't say enough wonderful things about this business and the variety of games, art kits, and cards they offer.

Monica FRIEL: This establishment has the absolute best staff members! My kids love to come to their Pokémon kids events on Saturdays. I wanted to start my own binder to connect with my kids and asked the staff to help me pick out cards amd get started. They were SO helpful and supportive. They never made me feel embarrassed for being totally out of my comfort zone. They even hooked me up with a binder to keep my cards in! My card collection is growing quickly and I'm able to connect with my kids on their level which is awesome. I'm so thankful for the willingness to teach from the staff! We drive 45 min from Novi every weekend we are able to make it and it's always worth it!

There was a really great selection of board games and the owner spent a good amount of time explaining options and asking the type of games we liked best. We were told about a board game night on Thursdays that I am excited to come for!

Would be sweet to see some miniature variety for games like Conquest, Marvel Crisis Protocol and A Song of Ice and Fire too!

Benjamin A: I love supporting local stores, so it pains me to say that this place really let me down. It's a very long story, but they told me that they would get something from their other store during the week. No call came, but the website said in stock and I was next door the next Saturday, so I popped over to check. The person at the desk said that they hadn't gotten any in, but I noticed the box behind him and pointed it out. He said that they had opened it for their tournament that day and there were no others.I'm not usually one for wearing tin foil hats, but it's hard for me to not connect a few dots:There were none last Sunday.One was supposed to show up during the week, transferred from the Howell store and be held for us. A mysterious new one was opened Saturday.No official shipments had arrived that week.I'm sorry, but that just looks like they opened the one that should have been held. If you feel I'm being paranoid, then go ahead and disregard my review-- I WANT them to succeed! Honest!It's just that now I'm going to have to go to some terrible big box store, and that bums me out.

Jennifer VanBeck: I am SO impressed by all the staff at Upkeep Games, from the people who have answered the phones in such a friendly and helpful way, as well as the lovely staff that has been so patient with my 5 year old whenever we come in. We went to Upkeep Games this morning for their Pokemon trading event and I was so impressed by the time the staff to try to teach my son and his friend the game and about Pokemon in general. They were very patient and made them feel very comfortable being in a setting with older kids. We will definitely be back regularly and will do all of our Pokemon purchasing at Upkeep Games!

I use to sell to Gamestop, but will now go straight to Game Pawn. They gave me a good price on my items. Game stop wouldn't take the console and were offering pennies for the games.

They did it no problem and ended up buying a game boy advance sp with some games. Great prices. It’s about 30 minutes away from me but so worth the drive. Definitely will be back

I got a refund and he made my experience there worth it. So I repaid the store by purchasing something else. The store got there money and I got product I know I will enjoy. This experience has made me a long time customer. I hope they are able to sell cards here one day. But I will be coming back for more purchases.

Steve Polykernopolis: I'm a regular customer in almost weekly buying and selling game but after Saturday and how rude the guy behind the counter checking in games was I will be taking my business elsewhere literally took in a huge stack of Xbox 360 and PS3 games I got on a trade deal trying to support a local business and the guy literally says to me "probably not gonna be a lot so dont get your hopes up" absolutely uncalled for and unnecessary dude looked like he didn't even want to be there to beging with which is strange because almost all of their other employees are nice and smiling and happy to help

The store had everything you could imagine tbh! They had plushies, Gameboys, GameCubes, tones of games to go with each system, merch, and most of all, FUNKO POPS! I was so excited as they had a wide selection to choose from. I went with some classics! They had a lot of funkos that you don’t find in typical stores, and for amazing prices! I’ll be going back as I have a slight Funko addiction, but if you ever want to go to the store, DO IT!!!! You will NOT regret it!

James Best: My wife and I visited the store a few days before Christmas wanting to buy a few extra thing for our son and myself. I brought in a old collection of about 45 ps2 games and a console with no controllers. I also had brought in a she's I had just purchased online and was hoping they would test it. I had called multiple times earlier that day and gentleman named Kyle was more than helpful and patient with me to answer my questions about product pricing and availability. Kyle even had items set aside for me.When I did visit the store with my wife everything was ready and the young man Chase who helped me went above and BEYOND!!! Not only did he help me test all the trade ins as quickly and pleasantly as possible he helped other customers and was kind and entertaining to my son and wife. He was engaging and knowledgeable about his trade.Even more so I bought a gameboy advance which did end up with a small sound issue which they fixed but when I asked if could instead trade it back for a special edition new version of advance sp Chase made it happen, he also helped my wife pick out gifts for my son and I without us seeing that made our Christmas awesome.Thanks Game pawn you put games top in checkmate!!!

Kirk Mortemore: My wife and I drove blindly from from an hour away. I walked in and realized this was like my gaming Mecca. Floor to ceilings games, guides, and accessories. An archive it is! Some parts are slghtly disorganized and it just makes it better like you could find that something special that you didnt know you were looking for. I only got to spend 15 minutes in there but i could have looked for a few hours. I got 2 jrpgs and a nintendo 3ds game. None of which I was looking for. Im super stoked to go back. This place is a gem. Best game shop I ever been in! Drove home with a smile on my face.

Keith: Big space with a great selection of retro games. PS1 games were professionally resurfaced and looked great. Prices were mostly in-line with Price Charting - WAY better than Disc Replay. Staff seemed chill. My only suggestion is more Genesis games that aren’t sports games, but I understand you can only sell what you get. I’d also love to see more fight stick mod accessories such as Sanwa buttons - would be fun to comb through all the different colors. Overall, a great place and I will definitely be making reoccurring visits.

Matt V: More anime and games stores near me the better. It's a great location with better staff. The only issue I have is they added a loose Legos table. Great concept but horrible idea bc parents are too busy on their phones to control their kid from just sloshing the pieces around with another large piece to make waves and a mess. I left without making any purchases after ten minutes of solid noise. Once that is gone I will recommend to shop there again.

Yes. $0.75 each. These are selling in THEIR STORE and on eBay and Amazon for $10-15. What a joke!!!
