Gabriel Dellavecchia: In the early 1980s, my parents bought an ill-fated Polaroid Polavision video camera. Similar to super-8mm, the films came in self-developing cassettes that were only playable on a purpose-built Polavision viewer. The format was only around for a few years, but the only eight home movies that my family owns were on those cassettes. Rob was not only familiar with the obscure format, but he had digitized some before. He took the time to explain the process to me, which involved opening the cases and splicing the films onto standard 8mm reels. Despite the extra work, the turnaround was only a little over a week, and he delivered the files on a playable DVD as well as on the cloud, and he handed me back the original films and boxes. Lee Olley: This guy is the best in the business.I had a bunch of Sony MicroMV cassettes to digitize. I tried one of those fancy companies that pops up you when you use google and the best they could do was black and white but they are all colour !!!! Thankfully they gave me my money back.I then tried calling 3 different companies in my immediate area and non of them would even touch these tapes.I then found someone about 40 miles away who had a go but they did one tape and it was jittery and the colours were all wrong.Then I found W.Cardone Productions. If you need to preserve old video not only will it be transferred but corrected so it properly interlaces and renders a more accurate and realistic image. I've been a photographer for decades and recognize technical excellence in both his processes and his end products. Look at the positive reviews he's gotten over time. You can easily find a less expensive means to transfer your video, but you will not find better quality or precision. If those images are important to you, I can't think of a better person to trust their preservation to.
