SafeHouse Center: what do users think?
Djehuty Mes: There services are seriously biased! But our society doesn't recognize men being victims! So it only makes perfect sense why they don't assist men from their perpetrators! Their mission and vision are surely lies! Their services are only for women spite what their mission and vision for abuse victims state on the home page! It's really sad in a sad pathetic sort of way that they feel it's ok for men to be abused but not women?! That nullifies their open ended mission spoken generally as if they assist women and men of abusive partners! Unfortunately that is the farthest thing from the reality of this establishment/non-profit organization. It's sad to see our society come to this level of audacity! They say men can get victimized but not women?! It's what it is I'm guessing!🇩🇪
Jada McGowan: Person answering phone was rude ,not suitable to someone's needs calling in for a situation which isn't pleasant
De'Shanel Phelps: Wish they hired people who actually care about helping others instead of selling them dreams. Overall I did majority of the things myself which I should have anyways but my advocate was terrible and she Definitely has a lying problem. I asked to switch advocates they wouldn't. She never met with me weekly and I felt as if she didnt care about my needs. She'd schedule to do something with me then just bail on me and act like everything is cool. I just got my apartment and I asked my advocate to help me get furniture and she told me she was too busy! She hasn't helped me with anything she helped me with one major thing that was it a bill other than that she sucked at giving resources and helping. They need to hire people who aren't rude and disrespectful this is a domestic violence shelter they don't know our situation or anything but got the nerve to be rude.
splatlandz: the people who run this place are TERRIBLE people. you guys throw women in a DITCH when they call the poilce. you guys also take hundreds of thousands of dollars of food and dont give it to the people there. you force people to buy their own food. you are all horrible. you traumitized me and so many other people. i hope this place gets shut down.
Megan Murphy: I was here 7 years ago and was in a horrible situation. I was very fortunate to be there. Thank you for your help.
Kimberlee Beydoun: Excellent !!
Kathleen Martin: A great place that helps people experiencing domestic violence.
Audrion Patterson: Alot of restrictions, this place gave me a piece of mind. Thank you !
Jennifer Kline: Very helpful and professional
Marta Dabis: Wish their PR could reach more people when they need safety and support.
Daniela Bartels: They do not accept donated used baby clothes and gear. They only accept new items per health code regulations. I find that very ridiculous. I didn't want good quality items to be re-sold but they told me to go to a thrift store to get rid of the items. Sad
Timothy Toth: Thank you for being there at my time of need your very kind it was a great experience hoping to return in the future
Birdy X: This is a wonderful and peaceful atmosphere for people that are escaping abuse,P.s. remember this shelter is only for short term safety potection and not gaurteened long term parnment housing (assistance). This place is smooth, relaxing, and a peace of mind
Kennethia Hoyle: This is an amazing place, I learned so much and grew a lot, after going through a really hard time with my Assailant and a car accident, I think coming here was the best decision I made, the staff was amazing and the best, they made me feel so welcome, even though I was scared at first, I made some lifelong friends and learned so much, The therapy was great too, this whole place is all around amazing, I’m never going to forget the hospitality , thank you Brianna, Trudy , Kaylin , Arianna , Ulga , Angel , And so many more I can’t spell all the names but you know who you are , Thank you for being there for me and helping me grow.
Erine Marie: Amazing staff!
Lakeisha Newman: I would of gave five stars but the advocate ola didnt help me. She lied on me then on top of that they put me out four days before my due date. (Yes Im nine months pregnant)
Monika Sacks: Safe House provides essential community services in education, prevention of domestic violence and supporting victims and their children.
Tiffany Marra: Great organization, serving families in need.
Krystel Varner: This place should be to help women who are hurt and you guys have a women in there now who should not even be in there she ain't being hurt and she lied to get in there. Do research before just letting any one in there
Sara Riggs: I wanted to get some information and I cannot talk openly on the phone for Im sure obvious reasons. I asked about an email or an online chatting support person? That would be helpful because I coukld really use the help with the situation I am in.
Keasha LeClear-Morse: Very disappointed in SafeHouse Center in Ann Arbor, Mi once again. I do have to say that when I was going through my divorce, they helped me incredibly, especially the support group, and the legal advocate program. However, because of my disabilities, I was unable to stay there long-term and had to stay at the Red Roof Inn - they do not accommodate people with disabilities well. Last year, I tried to volunteer with them and found that they do not work well with disabled volunteers, either. I made some suggestions, but they were not open to them. Finally, assuming I might move that winter, I let it go. I applied once again this year and after discussing with them options again that would accommodate my disabilities, they turned me down with regrets that they were unable to work around my disabilities. Now...I don't have extreme disabilities, it's not hard to accommodate me...and I made suggestions, I was even going to donate accessible hardware to them. But alas, they do not embrace able-ism, which is a shame. Being turned down as a volunteer because I have a few minor special needs? Not cool for a non-profit organization. I am an intelligent, compassionate, loving, experienced, valuable person...they are missing out big time. I'm very sad that I cannot reach out to the people that could use my help due to a few minor disability issues.

Shelter Association-Ann Arbor: what do users think?
Natalie Rohane: Ok I go here in a weekly basis to eat lunch, the food is better than I expected. Free to anyone at noon to 12:50 everyday. Now as far as bed go there are never any available due to the large increase of people in need. That's not their fault but there are not really any other options. Also I was told I was on the section 8 waiting list for the last year turns out I wasn't even tho a caseworker said I was. That was very upsetting. But I finally did get a great caseworker. Who helped me take care of everything. So there are people who do work their butts off but some people don't know what they are doing.
Michael Alexander: People trying to help people
Michael Fondren: Jesus Is Allah. God is Love!
Cyle Lowe: The staff is helpful with housing section 8 bus fare other things to
Michelle Parks: I thank God that I don't have to live here, but a friend of mine does, I say a prayer every night for him.
Jen Nena: Not helpful at all!! If you need shelter go somewhere else this place is a joke! 400 homeless and they accommodate less than 50!!
Robert Comer: Great place to find help. Meals are better than most restaurants.
Sandra Miselem: I told them I lost my job and couldn't donate any more. They billed me twice after that. That is cruel. If this isn't resolved, this review stays up. Quit stealing my money. I thought I was perfectly clear.
Tyson Westlake: I be tried several stores in the Washtenaw county area and jars on Packard and flat have the best prices and the best quality very worth the price
Donald Patterson “Swaggernaut” Marsandunit: Great! Loved it!!
Getting It In: It's okay because the food is usually ok. And they used to make it easy to get identification, but now its harder. And also for Ann Arbor the shelter is small and there is a waiting list to get in there.... Yes a waiting list for a emergency shelter. This is only addressing a small fraction of the homeless population. Ann Arbors has so much help for housing they just need a 300% larger shelter that is a immediate emergency shelter. All they would have to do is separate individuals based on behavior factors and keep control without losing the mission.
Deborah Ritz: Cant wait til my foundation is putting this place out of business for good!!#patrickshirleypetsandpeoplefoundation
Zander “SaltyCracker” Field: Very friendly staff.
Tammy Brewer: Friendly and helpful people
PENNY FORD: I never thought I'd have to use a shelter, but this place is awesome!!!The staff. Travis Olivia, Mary Ann and Amy are absolutely fantastic
Deborah Bailey: Clean place, friendly help,& good food
Crystal McClain: Homeless can happen to anyone...their services for someone who's going through something is second to none.
Anna Dobritt: It's ok
Karen Quarles: Ok
Timothy Toth: Thank you for all the help that you give to those in need God bless all of you you're in my prayers
Kathleen Martin: The shelter provides a safe, clean place to stay when life leaves you homeless. They also have health services and are a great resource center. There are free meals for anyone at Noon and 5 pm on weekdays and 3 pm on weekends.

purple house: what do users think?
Michelle Basham: Pit bulls, throwing knives, broken dreams, and extra Yeehaws for sinners 🤠
matt ousley: Purple house saved my wife and I from freezing. Thank God for the good people volunteering
Cameron Bright: Hill House was shut down and stopped helping all those in need. Why, because a few people took it over. They did not care about all the good it did but instead wanted to sell it for their own monetary gain. Makes me sick.
Caleb Poirier: Cameron Bright has done many good deeds at this house and I am grateful for his gifts.
Jack Fifer: Its a great program for people to get back on their feet. Staff is great also .
The Hatchetgamer: Great place to seek help

ephraim jackson: Nobody ANSWERS THE DAM PHONE LINE EVER!!

Im truly thankful theres ppl out there like her doing the job she does , she not rewarded for caring she does the job because she cares !! She is a blessing to community of Washtenaw county citizens thank you and bless you for the very hard work you do to help !! Ppl like her Deserve recognition and respect for the job they do !! Thanks from my family feel very blessed!!
Tracy Hurd: I give this place less than a 1 star! These people do provide shelter BUT there is so much favouritism. I use to stay there and I was treated as if I was doing them wrong. I was going to college AND looking for work and I was not always able to make it back early for a meeting with case worker. They seem to have a problem with me buying my own food and not eating the food they provided. For 1 reason: someone was un thawing a large meat in the sanitation sink. I knew from working in restaurants that that was unhealthy and against food safety.Another problem that I had was someone use the time that I signed up to do laundry and did not get in trouble for it.During the winter, they put a yellow caulk around the inside of the windows to keep the cold out, but there is no way to open the windows in case of a fire. There is only 1 emergency exit just case there is fire and most of the families with children are on the second floor and they have to go right past the kitchen. This is place is far from being a "CHRISTian" organization.
Linda Beard: The people here really care about your specific needs and they do the best they can to help you when your in need
Maleny Crespo: Kind staff. Great community resource.
Sam Zaccone: Great place. NOT A STORE. NOT OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
Edward Perpich: You can't donate anything here, but it's an amazing place.
Kelly Augustine: Has a lot of stuff for good
Timothy Toth: Thank you Salvation Army you have a food pantry on Tuesdays and Thursdays that helped me out a great deal I'm on a fixed income and I am grateful that you offer your services to those in need since I was a child you always been there for others I am grateful for your hand up I do not come to the Salvation Army for a handout for but from time to time it is a good feeling to have someone give you a hand up I appreciate all you've done for me God bless and God bless those that seek your services
paulwall Paulwall: Cool beans
R: Great workers
Hasan Shokor: Not bad
David Xe: It is a decent transitional housing place. However they cook your food. It is one size fits all.
Sosay Others: The Salvation Army saved my 2 teenagers and myself from an unethical eviction and is helping us find housing.

Interfaith Hospitality Network: what do users think?
Paul Bodziony: Doing great work 👍
Sarah Nagy: The most corrupt “non profit”/workplace I have ever worked for. A resident once stole the shelter van and took it on a joyride, same resident stole money from an employee. Ellen Schulmeister, the executive director, literally has no idea what goes on in the shelter. An employee once worked 22 hours straight untilDenise, the lead case manager, noticed and came in to relieve her. The director of operations who is supposed to be in charge of the day to day issues at the shelter is hardly there. He makes the schedule and called in “sick” for every shift he scheduled himself for. If any regular employee did that they would have to provide a doctors note or be fired. He openly admits he does not read the log which lets staff know what’s going on in the shelter. A resident once stole the company van and took it for a joy ride (Ellen did not make a police report), stole money from an employee…the employee was asked not to call the police. Another previous resident stole $80 from an employee and Ellen asked her not to make a police report and that she personally would refund her….the employee has yet to be refunded and this was over a year ago.In Jan 2022 the shelter was broken into by a previous resident and an accomplice and they stole a flat screen TV as well as video games. Luckily all he wanted was to steal and not kidnap or hurt any of the children. I once found a bullet while preparing a room for a new family to move in. When I showed this to my supervisor he showed no concern. He never did room checks unless I asked. This place is honestly going to continue to go downhill until Ellen (the executive director) quits or stops hiring “yes men”. I.e her friends who were fired from Delonis.
Ian “EmeansEmissary” Gearhart: Doing wonders for us so grateful
Jeff Nugent: They do a good job with what they have.
Rashonda: A roof over my head and a bed that I’m EXTREMELY GRATEFUL & Appreciative of..Thank you. As far as their mission or assistant with anything else ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was done. Staff that works literally on the floor was awesome but caseworkers and higher up team TERRIBLE. I just pray for the folks with mental or in the unknown. The caseworker and higher up team will break them down more, when they’re suppose to assist and lift folks and the children that are watching. I truly believe in a follow up with the person who is actually the founder and the outside community, because this is saddening and definitely unhealthy mental wise.
Jay Myers: There are shingles over my head and a bed anuder my backside.....but this place does not keep up with their end of the bargain. They provide absolutely no reasonable accommodation for disability.and they do nothing to uphold their goal of being more than a place to sleep and food to eat. The food rarely meets our dietary needs.
RaShawna Collins: The staff is amazing ..💖💖💖💖💖
Vanessa Etherton: It's simply a place to sleep. Breaking through barriers to help obtain housing isn't anything they provide, assistance from workers with anything at all is almost impossible, they invade and breech privacy, the fact that washtenaw county is so small many people know each other. I personally saw where workers complicated and even prevented certain people from being able to make any progress or obtain housing because of their own personal opinions of people
Steve Betts: Had a great time serving dinner
Kristen Yoder: I absolutely LOVE the alpha house. I have served here for many years and I count it a blessing to volunteer my time and finances to such an amazing program. If you are looking for a place to serve, please consider them. Helping the families in our own backyards is a great place to start!
Lawrence Siden: I support this place. Great place to volunteer.
