Syd: I honestly love this place but I’m really disappointed with this visit. I sent my sister go get us some cups of pineapple soft serve and a few other things. To my surprise I get a call from my sister stating that someone is telling her that for over a year now they stopped selling cups of soft serve and it only comes in cones. My sister informs her that she was just here for a week ago and received it that way. The lady behind the counter proceeds to tell her something along the line of “that’s the rule, and I would know because I'm a manager”. Which seems a bit unnecessary and snarky to me. She proceeded to try and sell my sister a cone of soft serve that we have specifically stated we didn’t want because it would just be thrown away and she can’t walk with a cone and the the other items. There’s more but I won’t get into that on here. Like I stated I love this place. I have to stop myself from coming multiple times a week but after today I probably won’t be back for a while.

Amy DiGangi: We visited for the first time today on a whim and we were happy with the service, but underwhelmed with the products we purchased given the price. We tried three flavors of water ice (peach, blue raspberry and pineapple.) The peach was really the only one with any flavor, unfortunately. My husband also tried the pineapple soft serve, which he said was pretty close to Dole Whip (which is a good thing!) We would definitely give this place another try due to the good service (they had so many other snacks and treats for us to try out next time.)

Frank Rawetzki: This little shop on Woodward Avenue is the perfect example that excessive ice cream consumption CAN make this World a better place.Over the past weekend we visited the Detroit Water Ice Factory in downtown Detroit.The combination of ice, ice cream and flavorings were absolutely delicious, and we can only highly recommend this place.More importantly, however, is that this business is not for profit. All profits go to local charities that support our neediest fellow citizens.The supervisor, Jeremiah, was amazing, too. He was working by himself over the busiest shopping weekend of the year, assisting every customer with a smile and a kind word.Spending a little time inside a store, he told us about the store, the products and mission. Jeremiah is just a wonderful human being, and he makes all the water ice himself. Clearly, his attire alone should point to the fact that he’s alright right from the start.If you’re doing nothing else in Detroit, go and visit the Detroit Water Ice Factory! Enjoy a great treat and help people!

Nancy quinby: Really good water ice. Bordeaux Cherry had large chunks of real cherries mixed throughout. Lots of cherry flavor. I had it as a Motown Twist with vanilla, a very nice combination.
Christian: This was a first for me. I've never had Italian ice and so buying a nice big cup was fun! I had the orange creamsicle, blue raspberry and strawberry flavour. It was enjoyable. The texture was new for me but it was nice. Very sweet and the flavours we're pretty accurate. Also I really enjoyed the outside seating as well. 4 stars outta 5. Would definitely enjoy again.

So we stopped here for the strawberry lemonade Italian ice & watermelon Italian ice.I've been here plenty of times but it was my kiddo's first times. It was really cool to see how amazed at how delicious it was.We sat out front in their patio area and people watched. The patio area was clean. The staff was really nice.We had a great experience.

I finally saw someone making a mango fruit drink (mangonada I believe it was), and I order that and some ice cream.All in all I’m giving three stars because the fruit drink was flavorful and pretty good and I felt the prices were reasonable.However, consumer service is very poor.

Since I lived out of town for the last many years I was unable to go until today..First off when entering the doorway was full of leaves and trash. Upon entering the girl on duty would not look up or greet us.. Kinda felt like we came at a bad time for her? Upon drawing closer to her and asking about the flavors she gave one word answers “ya that’s it etc”.. Her outfit was COVERED in ANIMAL HAIR. It was profusely disgusting.. The store was FILTHY.. Every single glass surface from the coolers (mostly empty crusted with mold on edges) to the doors to the exterior windows were BEYOND DISGUSTING and looked like had not been washed for at least a year or more.. The floor had not been swept in days and every corner had swirls of dirt, mud, leaves etc.. RAW FILTH! The counters in their ridiculously large and unappealing prep area had visibly dirty towels and rags strewn across them among a bunch of other clutter & JUNK.. So incredibly, incredibly sad & disappointing. I hear they are expanding to Grosse Pointe and it will not last long there if they take care of it like that Ferndale location.. It obviously seems that someone is either spoiled with customers and is an ABUSIVE operator or they have given up completely.. I tend to see them as abusive and lazy. It looks as if it’s closing , or possibly for sale? Never never go get ripped off at this filthy, RUDE disgusting ice cream store NEVER!! So disappointing & maddening after expecting it to be so great after all the FAKE hype.

Tiaunna “Tee” Bradley: Ordered online for delivery - they added sprinkles in my ice cream (without my request), and the cookie dough that was supposed to come in the ice cream was not there, and it was melted. Called to report it and the cashier stated that I was wrong and there were no sprinkles added. How am I wrong when I’m sitting here looking at the ice cream in my hand? Sprinkles were mixed in - and it was intentional that it was added. If I got it delivered, it is clear that I do not have the transportation to get up there - they said I had to come up there to get the problem solved and could ask to rewind cameras. Terrible customer service overall.

Andre Patton: I was extremely disappointed in my ice cream I purchased from cold stone yesterday, I purchased 2 caramel and pecan apples and a small cup of butter pecan ice cream, the price I paid for 3 items was almost $25, I was expecting top notch quality on ALL THE ITEMS, the apples were great but the ice cream was terrible, it had ice frost in it which means it's been thawed and refrozen several times it looked mushy as well

Nahhh Thanks: This review reflects the new -320 coffee & creamery on Wayne States Campus: While their coffee is pretty good, the variety is seriously limited and the pricing is outrageous. It was $7.25 for a regular size Chai latte with a shot of espresso. While I think Starbucks is quite expensive this shop cant even compete.

Emily Banas: Never had what I would consider to be bad soft serve but this is it. Literally like eating cool whip. If that’s your thing you’ll like this, but it tasted weird and fake. Nothing ice cream about it. Wasn’t even cold, which was weird. Just a whipped overly sweet dessert.

The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is that sometimes they are closed when their hours say they’re open. If you are closing early or if you’re hours are changing just let the public know because we look forward coming to your place.

Christina Hyunjee Lee: Simple but satisfying soft serve ice cream place near Detorit Opera House. I would recommend the float even I'm not a huge fan of it. Personally, the ice cream can be a little more soft and creamer in flavor and texture. But the combination of chocolate, vanilla and sea salt was nice! Expect to wait in line for 10-15 mins though!
Jake Yarmoff: GREAT custard! Really airy, like none I've had before, and the flavor is spot on. You don't feel bloated, it's just delicious and simple. Plus the employees are exceptionally friendly - we went once, and came back the next day! If you're in from out of town (as we were), make a stop!!
