Wayne State University Planetarium: what do users think?
SC Phillips: Really miss this place. Someday soon.
Joe Karoly: I miss going there I went their a long time ago
Big Btheory: The show director was excellent! Seats were comfortable and both the locale and venue were great. Unfortunately the planetarium projector itself is very old and it can produce only blurry images inside the dome. Also, one of the two projectors was very dim so only half the sky is projected.
Kara Gavin: I've brought Girl Scout troops to the planetarium for shows twice, and we had a great time with the shows and physics demos! Also a great place to hear public lectures and a fun stop on Noel Night.

Hamza Azam: one of the BEST MUSEUMs in Michigan, and especially the detroit have to offer. This location has one of the LAST full IMAX 70mm screen in ALL of the midwest and United States, and us local have to do everything we can to continue to support this place! One of my fondest memories was watching Christoper Nolan’s “Tenet” in full IMAX 70mm during the pandemic and feeling like i was inside the movie. I hope they also play his next movie “Oppenheimer” coming in July and I will be sure to spread the word!
Christen Smith: This place is expensive, yet exciting! I go there because I have a young daughter. I wouldn't go there if I didn't have a child. I found out about Michigan Science Center at elementary school when we went on a field trip there.Visited on Weekday Wait time Up to 10 min Reservation recommended Yes Price for adult entry $16–20 …More
erika mbah: lots of exciting, hands-on exhibits for children [and adults]. even with several school groups, it iwas easy to navigate & didn't feel overly crowded. the imax offerings were interesting & the theater was comfortable. there are several elevators, so accessibility isn't an issue. on-site parking fills quickly, but there is plenty of street & ramp parking nearby.food & beverage options are very limited so if you have children that like to graze frequently, bring your own snacks.
Bee M: Worth the membership. I've been here close to a dozen times with my kids, always good to get their minds working.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …More
Rach Baby: Really love this place very clean alot of learning exhibits to do for time you their you will learn a lot with your kids and family I love science so going their was like being a kid again 🤣🤣🤣🤣because it was so fun to see all the science exibits and I love the IMAX theater too ☺️will be coming back with my kids again and my kids really enjoyed themselves too ☺️will be coming back oh yeah let's not mention it's very reasonable price for family and kids and and they have membership packages that's if you go all the time ☺️
Denyce Detkowski: My grandson had an accident with a glass tube and was belittled and treated very poorly by the staff. He love science and I can't believe they would treat a child like this. Accidents happen and children need to understand it happens and it is okay. His first experience with a school field trip and now he never wants to go on one again. Very sad.

Makayla Sorrell: This is a really great experience for kids under 15. There are some cool things to do for the older folks. There great photo opportunities here. The food is expensive. We went to the Sound Scapes planetarium show and it was geared for children under 10 which was fine, but it wasn't great. It was just being projected on the dome. It was also ridiculously hot in the whole building. I don't think their AC was turned on yet, but after a couple hours it was awful. Again, it was a cool experience for the kids.
Sarah Grimm: What a cool place! We visited from out of town and our 7 yo and 9 yo had a great time. We saw two shows, and explored all of the exhibits. All of the staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome. I highly recommend.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes Price for adult entry $16–20 …More

Karl Capobianco: Fun for the kids. Not enough of the displays are open. One third are closed for some reason.
Alyssa white: It's now more of a play area than it is a museum for kids to learn about science. Not many exhibits left either.

Steve Buero: This place used to be one of my favorite places to go. The museum has been updated but seems to be same old stuff about space and rocks and humans heritage... wait I thought it was science, nope history museum instead of cool hands science stuff. Went there mainly for the good old pink floyd laser show... nope, all cgi projected on the ceiling instead, stay home and watch a screensaver with dark side of the moon in the background. Quite disappointed Cranbrook!Price for entry: $18Ticket type: Museum admit plus pink floyd show.

Victoria Bogoevski (Essentially an Empath): Absolutely LOVED our time here. We went once during the week and once on the weekend so my husband and their grandparents could see the exhibit as well.As a SAHM I would rather take the boys during the week as it was far less crowded and seemed easier to navigate as it wasn't so crowded.I do wish that the planetarium was offered on other days as well, rather than just Friday, Saturday, Sunday, as those seem to be busier days.Having smaller kids I love that the building is smaller than most other museums so I feel more confident when I go by myself with the kids.Parking is a two level structure, so some shaded and some not. The parking is a bit of a walk from the front doors, but being greeted by a stegosaurus replica is so much fun for the kids.I took my two young boys ages 4.5 and 2.5, during the touring exhibit of SUE the TREX, twice! They absolutely fell in love with seeing all of the larger exhibits there are.I was worried the boys would be too young for the science aspect of the museum and only be interested in seeing the trex cast, wooly mammoth cast, and other animals that are preserved. They did enjoy seeing all of the animals, and most of the other exhibits. The one my kids were nervous about was the exhibit showing how humans survived as that area is not as lit up as the rest of the museum. The Cafe was a perfect place to stop and grab a bite because I had underestimated how long we would truly stay there. Spoiler, we stayed for 4 hours. As an adult who loves learning and enjoys museums it also was fascinating to walk through and learn things I had forgotten from childhood.Needless to say we ended up purchasing the family membership to return frequently. My boys constantly ask to return and we will be doing so minimum monthly.
Kisha Emanuel: The kiddos had fun

Maria Livieratos: The Cranbrook Institute of Science was totally Amazing. I took my 3 & 6 year old Grand kids, and they Loved it!! They didn't want to leave. The Sue T-Rex exhibit was very educational with hands on exhibits touching Dinosaur bones, and the kids got to touch & feel. The movies were very good and not scary. There were lots of Dinosaurs, fossils, a huge rock exhibit , crafts and so many things to see and do!! We now have some great memories & photos too. What a fun filled day. I highly recommend this and the cost was reasonable too.
Geoff Paulin: We went in the evening so we could visit the observatory, as well as the other exhibits, including Sue, the T-rex.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Price for adult entry $11–15 …More
Naomi Wei: Cranbrook academy is located at a hill where there are quite a few blocks with nice landscape. In this institute, there are two floors which has science from biology, marine to minerology. In any spring break or summer holiday, any one bring their family to the museum could learn a lot about science behind the earth evolution. And the planet around the building may be good for photography.
Ed Boucher: This is an excellent institution. Engaging for all ages!
