I love the many options and the attention to detail every cake, donut, or pie had. I didn't try the pizza, as pizza is in the name of the restaurant. But I will be back to try! The prices are moderate, not too high. There's a free parking lot with plenty of parking. All in all, great experience! 👍

Toasted a couple slices buttered with real salted butter and lightly spread peanut butter over it. Could very well be the best bread I have every eaten. The crust flaked up and separated slightly from the soft inside. When you bite into it the flavor is so fresh and delicious. I think I just found my favorite bakery.

I'm not a huge cake person (sorry!) but Terri's Cakes know what they're doing and they do it WELL. The flavor options are all amazing, I actually can't pick a favorite of what we tried. The cakes are moist and the frosting isn't overly sugary and sweet.For our wedding, we ordered a 3-tiered cake that could feed all of our guests, as well as the cake jars for people to take home as a favor. Terri's cakes also offered to customize the jars for us with stickers of whatever we wanted - we chose our dog and it was such a cute, small detail that a lot of guests loved.Second, the customer service. This is a family owned business and they will treat you like family as well. The woman we did our consultations with was so helpful, fun and nice. She explained all of our options to us clearly and made sure we were happy with what we were getting.We had a number of guests with nut and gluten allergies, and we were assured their bakery takes these issues very seriously. We felt comfortable serving these products to our friends and family with dietary restrictions.As a bonus - we get a complementary dessert for our one year anniversary so we didn't have to worry about freezing part of our cake! I'm already excited to see them next year.(I will upload photos of the cake when I get them from the photographer)

Raquel Garcia: One of my favorites places to go when I am at Downtown Detroit. Food is delicious, the music is great! It makes me feel like I am back in France.

Lulu: All-around not worth your time or money, just awful. My friend and I picked a croissant and asked for it to be warmed up at 6:55pm. The store closes at 8pm. The worker, despite having a nice attitude, said that they had already turned off the ovens and were unable to warm the croissant. Strange. She could tell that we weren’t pleased to hear that. We asked if there was a microwave (there wasn’t), my friend and I went back-and-forth trying to decide if we wanted to get something else, giving her an opportunity to say that she would just put it in the oven. She did not. I’ve worked in the food industry and understand wanting to clean and clock out as on time as possible, but it is unacceptable to close down a device so critical to improving the quality of the food and the customer experience over an hour before closing. We got the cold croissant and it just was not good. We also ordered lattes and it was unfortunate to find out that they weren’t being made with an actual espresso machine. The machine looked more like those self-serve cappuccino dispenser machines at gas stations, and tasted just like that too. No espresso flavor at all, just milky. Not worth the $6+ for each drink (and I go to coffee shops and will spend this regularly on good espresso). We were not asked if we were dining in, but we sat down at tables and our drinks were brought out in disposable cups when we intended to have mugs. Probably another shortcut to leave early and avoid washing a couple of cups. Extremely disappointing customer experience both in the service and in the taste of the products.

Hannah Newell: You must visit Cannelle if you are in Detroit!!! With exquisite croissants and pastries, a relaxing atmosphere and incredibly friendly staff, there is nowhere better to check out. I always see Rawaa there and she is the kindest woman and always has a smile on her face. The place is so chic and has such a wonderful Parisian feel! Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!!

Mohamad Elmasri: CANNELLE IS FANTASTIC! As a frequent customer and former employee, I cannot tell you how amazing the pastries and customer service is here. Countless times I’ve had sandwiches, pastries, and coffees and each time they have always been great! Also, shoutout to Rawaa and Matt, as a student through undergrad, they were super flexible with my school schedule and always were super understanding when I couldn’t make a shift for school. Overall, they always did right by me and I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for Cannelle!

huda s: They charged $1.25 extra to sweeten my drink but did not add any sweetener. The matcha was bland in taste, and chalky in texture, basically just a bunch of powder sitting at the bottom of the cup. They did not whisk it at all, just topped it with milk. Not sure how the coffee is but given they do not whisk matcha, they probably don’t brew coffee correctly either.

Matt Tucker: I got the bacon cheddar biscuit. It was delicious but really expensive for the tiny item. $10 plus tax and tip for a biscuit should definitely include a side or else the price should be lowered. It’s obvious who the target crowd is, unfortunately not the average Detroiter like myself.

The coffee drink was amazing, one of the best cappuccinos I have had in a long time. If you think the big boys do it right, try Avalon and you will become a believer. And don't forget the cookies, it's a treat you will talk about for a long time.
