I Was Made for the Nomad Life: As I read through the other reviews I can't help to wonder how in the world this place receives such stellar comments. Maybe they were having an off day when we came in. I thought bars were supposed to be able to handle busy times and events being as they are across from comerica Park baseball stadium.Our burgers were done and sitting on a counter for at least 30 minutes but I couldn't get the attention of anyone to check. $30 for 2 burgers that were tiny and just nasty tasting. We were there during the climb for air. I will not revisit. My opinion is just that, my opinion. By all means do not let that keep you from trying it. It seems more a place for drinking, however my rum runner was almost just pineapple and orange juice . Best rum runners are at Ocean Deck in Daytona Beach.

Our family of 4 wanted a unique spot for lunch during our visit, the kids enjoyed the scenery from the rooftop bar, we ALL enjoyed the food (even our picky little eaters!), and although it was a bar and probably not a great spot for kids at night, during the day it was a nice option. *Roof top doesn't have servers, so scan the menu and order at the bar.Chips and salsa, cheeseburger, Casear wrap, BBQ quesadilla, and pulled pork bbq sandwich.

Tobacco smoke inside of the establishment. Gunshots around the area too when you walk outside. An absolute miserable experience here.

Tsawsntua Ly: Hands down... the WORST bbq ive ever had in my life. Spent $55 on 3 meals. Rib tip dinner, it was cold with so many hard pieces. Drowned in a nasty bbq sauce. Half chicken dinner it was still cold but the skin was burnt. I can tell it was pre made from the night before and just thrown onto the grill for 'char'. Mac and cheese was going bad from being pre-made and not stored or warmed properly, curdled up and started to split. Use a roux next time. Stop skipping steps. Beans are soaking in a bland sauce. Green beans are frozen and thrown into a cup. Polish sausage is just an ekrich kielbasa on bread with soggy onions. Ive never been so disappointed in my life. Especially when theres some fat guy in the back yelling about having the best bbq. The 1 star is for the nice waitresses. Im gonna save you the trouble of posting pictures to expose you. Please get a new chef. Please do something about the food IMMEDIATELY.

Ebonie Drayton: I stopped by Bert’s with my sister and brother for a bite to eat after shopping, we were born and raised in Detroit and had never been to Bert’s . The grilling outside is how they get you, buyer beware!! The rib tips are DRY, TOUGH and LACKS seasoning, any smoke or grilled TASTE associated with bbq is NONEXISTENT , the bbq sauce tastes like ketchup and the coleslaw was GARBAGE. We DINED IN and had to PAY $2 for water, for some reason it wasn’t complimentary like every restaurant I have been in my whole life. We waited for an hour in a completely empty restaurant for our food, my brother asked for hot sauce and received 1 packet of hot sauce. The items are OVERPRICED and the food is very DISAPPOINTING. I would NOT RECOMMEND this establishment to anyone. EVER!!!

Turns out it was chopped fried HARD pieces of chicken, fried so hard it blended in with the croutons. Popcorn Chicken bites maybe. It was a gamble in each bite. Michele Jordan: Ok, went here for the vibe, we love sitting out on the patio having an adult beverage, listening to the music and people watching; always a good time. I was looking forward to the BBQ today, haven’t had it in a while. We ordered a hot sausage, it was undercooked, hardly any char on it, and the bun was soggy from the sauce. We had to ask for another sausage as well as another bun. The first ribs we ordered were over cooked, the second set of ribs were a bit undercooked. I understand that it’s busy in the spring/summer months, however, that is no reason to give customers uncooked food. I prefer quality over quantity any day, just praying we don’t get sick… we also witnessed the cook wiping his head with a sweat rag, luckily he wasn’t touching the food with his bare hands, he did use utensils and had gloves at certain points. They seriously need a portable sink for proper hand cleanliness for all working with food out there. We saw another person in back eating a sausage. Like come on! We will go back for the music and drinks but it’s a no for the food…oh and almost $30 for what we ordered, unbelievable..

Jared Exel: I recently had the pleasure of trying the vegan Reubens egg rolls, vegan mushroom and Swiss burger, and some amazing French fries at The Old Shillelagh, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed.First things first our server was amazing. She was quick and friendly! We were very well taken care of.Let's talk about the vegan Reubens egg rolls. These egg rolls were filled with a delicious mixture of sauerkraut, corned Jackfruit, and vegan Provolone cheese. The crispy egg roll wrapper complemented the soft and savory filling perfectly. The tangy flavor of the sauerkraut was a great contrast to the meaty and cheesy flavors of the corned Jackfruit and Provolone cheese. Overall, these egg rolls were a unique and tasty twist on a classic Reuben sandwich.Next up was the vegan mushroom and Swiss (actually Provolone) burger. The patty was a beyond patty and it had a great texture and flavor. It was cooked perfectly and topped with melty vegan Provolone cheese, sautéed mushrooms, and a tangy Caesar sauce. The combination of the meaty mushrooms and the creamy cheese was delicious, and the sauce added a nice zing to the burger.Lastly, the French fries were truly amazing. They were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and they were perfectly season, they kinda tasted like Funyuns. They were served hot and fresh, and they made the perfect accompaniment to the egg rolls and burger.Overall, I highly recommend trying the vegan Reubens egg rolls, vegan mushroom and Swiss burger, and amazing French fries at this restaurant. These dishes are creative and flavorful, and they showcase the delicious possibilities of vegan cuisine.
Mike's Take: This part is from November of 2022... I love this bar! The bartenders are all great! The security guards/door people are really cool too, good staff all around. The bars food and drink prices are very reasonable and tasty. They have bands and djs on all THREE floors during the summer / warmer months. I saw a band two Sunday nights back on the second floor called Mac Saturn and they were fantastic. Then a dj was playing on the first floor and he was good too. I'm going back to Detroit in April for a Red Wings game and we are definitely pre-gaming here.Update 4/10/23: We went back here after my penguins beat the Red Wings this past Saturday and we had Jason as our Bartender again and he was great. 7:30 rolls around and I go upstairs to see if a band is playing and it's Mac Saturn again! What are the odds of that happening? Once again Mac Saturn killed it. I highly recommend this bar and the band.Parking: $15.50 buys 12 hours of parking.
