El Moore Lodge & Residences: what do users think?
Jennifer Fike: We were in Detroit for a wedding at the Garden Theater and was very convenient location. Stayed in the starlight cabin. Needed a room with a pullout since wanted to have an option for additional family to stay if they didn't want to drive back. Love the sustainable renovation of the building. Felt safe, secure and welcoming. Just one issue was the room was too warm and the heat wouldn't lower.
Eve Hinz: Even better than expected! Stayed in the Moonbeam Cabin for two nights. Beautiful view, warm and cozy aesthetic, a welcoming front desk, next door to a coffee shop/market, walking distance to lots of great food and shops. 10/10 would recommend.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Will Scott: From arrival to departure we were impressed constantly. We stayed in the moonbeam suite and the view was stunning. We were going to stay elsewhere, but a colleague insisted we try the El Moore and I'm so very glad that we did! This place will be on our future destination list for sure! If I could, I'd give it 6-stars!!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Mary Krumbein: I had to contact the staff about some special accommodations. I did not end up booking here, but the staff was very prompt in answering my question and would have been able to handle my request had I booked. I would definitely book with them if traveling solo or as a couple.Service: 5/5 …More
Laura Wood: This place really exceeded our expectations! We staying in one of the Parkview rooms and it was clean and spacious. The aesthetic of the hotel was really pleasing, with well-kept grounds and a private, gated parking area. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and gave personal service. The breakfast in the morning was delicious - homemade mushroom quiche, good coffee, and toast with delicious jam. This really has more of a bed and breakfast feel than a hotel, and very reasonably priced, with a wide variety of rooms to choose from. In walking distance of many restaurants and venues in the area. We will be back!
Dan Hughson: We enjoyed a wonderful stay in Detroit at El Moore. All of the staff was great. Maie checked us in and had great suggestions for places to eat. Quiche on the breakfast buffet on Saturday morning was very good.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great value …More

Nikoe Oliver: My husband and I stayed here in December and even in the cold, the outdoor view and rooftop patio were amazing! My only gripe was our cabin not having a microwave. Unless I missed it, that was a huge inconvenience when trying to heat up snacks!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Jahil Parker: Sorry for the late posting. I stayed here Oct 2021 for two nights in the small room with bunk beds. The room was actually decent and had the perfect setup for a short quick stay. My only concern was the cleaning of the bed frames. I always check what I'm sleeping on. Underneath the mattress were tons of dead crickets and smalll bugs. Thankfully none of them were bedbugs and there were no blood stains. My room was on the bottom floor so I can Understand the presence of crickets but what's not okay is that they were clearly dead and had been there for a while. It looks as if the room was reset sheets and mattress covers were changed and they just ignored the bugs. I don't have pictures sadly since I'm just remembering I didnt leav my review last year. If you check this place out make sure to check the bed frame and have them clean it. I didn't want to stress my partner out so I didnt mention it to them until we left. Also the price is at a good point.
J Frances: Clean, beautiful units, pleasant garden area and common area similar to an English Bed & Breakfast. Safe & easy to access parking lot that’s secured. Cafe next door for any quick bites or coffee/tea, and community gardens next to cafe. Kind staff. Also there are random events like Jurassic Park movie night in Greenhouse with free snacks and drinks - very cute!
Emma Shortt: Everything about my stay was super, from the warm welcome to the lovely room and delicious breakfast. The team were very friendly and helpful.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Sharla Hunter: Stayed at the El Moore Lodge for New Years Eve 2021 and this hotel is very nice. The secure parking was definitely a plus as well as how to access everything upon arrival. I stayed in the Moonbeam Cabin and it was exactly like the pictures online. For anyone who stays here in the future they do offer Netflix and Youtube TV. The views are spectacular and I would definitely stay here again. The only downside I would say is not being able to access other streaming apps such as Hulu when doing so it asked for a pin, also no phone to be able to call downstairs if needed.
Benson May: Lovely experience overall. Exactly as pictured, our room was exceptionally clean and well stocked with numerous cute welcome snacks/tea/coffee. All-stone shower was a highlight. We stayed in the room with bunk beds and an in-suite bathroom, the space was perfect for two and felt spacious with the separate dining table under the bay windows! Each staff member we met was friendly and excited to share restaurant recommendations and advice about Detroit, and helped make our experience five-star!
Jessica Montgomery: The rooms and views were beautiful. Extremely nice and helpful staff. The only issue we encountered was slow internet service. We will definitely stay again.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Ken King: This hotel is a real gem. Beautifully restored building in a great location. We stayed in one of the spacious rooftop cabins and it was wonderful with terrific balcony views. Very friendly and helpful staff. The secure parking was a real plus. We will stay there again.
Ordabek Duissen: It's a really nice hotel, enjoyed it!
Colleen Lyon: Beautiful, unique hotel. Wonderful location and great views. One of our best hotel stays.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Nic R: In 2019 while watching Fox 2 News, they ran a story on this hotel and I immediately put it in my phone notes. Covid happened, the world stopped and I never had a chance to book a room. Well as soon as it was safe again to venture out into the world, the El Moore was my 1st stop, and it was well worth the wait! From the service, to the rooms; it was a perfect staycation and welcome back, to “normal” gift to us. We booked the Starlight cabin and it was breathtaking. The room, the view, the grounds, the service; everything was top notch. OH! Let me not forget the bed; this bed slept like a cloud. We wished we’d booked another night just to lay in the bed! LOL The only bad thing and I wouldn’t call it bad is, they don’t have an ice machine, but they do have an ice bucket, so you can always grab your own from the local store; we went to CVS! 😃 We were walking distance to the world famous Italian restaurant, Mario’s. There are tons of bars and restaurants to choose from, rather dining in or carrying out. If you’re looking for something unique, beautiful, romantic as well as economically feasible, look no further! The El Moore leaves you wanting more and more! We will definitely be back.
Emily Obert: Has cute looking cabins, but none of them are wheelchair accessible. I don't understand how people are allowed to build inaccessible hotels/hostels. This place is a brand new renovation and pretends to be ethical
kendra komp: We really enjoyed our stay in this gorgeously restored gem! We stayed in the beautiful and comfortable Starlight Cabin. It was quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. Our balcony overlooked the community garden and from the huge windows we could see all of Midtown and all the way downtown to the Ren Cen. The neighborhood is beautiful and there are so many restaurants and bars nearby, most of which have patios/outdoor areas which is so important during Covid. I felt very safe staying here. The room was spotless and private. I would highly recommend staying here! It is the perfect place if visiting Detroit or for a staycation.

Winston The Argentine Tegu: Last week, my work held a conference at the Westin Book Cadillac Detroit and it was wonderful. Dalano was very helpful when it came to any questions I had. I needed to have something printed in color and Dalano was happy to do that for me. Especially when he had to go to the other side of the building to print what I needed. He went out of his way to help me and that meant a lot. I hope he reads this because he is very appreciated.

We had a choice of prime rib, chicken or ravioli. I had the prime rib, which was the best I have ever had! It was thick as a delmonico steak and so tender, you could cut it with a butter knife. My wife and son had the stuffed chicken, which they said was very good. The salads had a delicious dressing of cherries and walnuts i.e. Michigan salad. The bartenders, servers very quick and friendly.Noteworthy details: The place is beautiful! It was just a skip and a hop from St. Aloysius Catholic Church, where the wedding mass, took place.

Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center: what do users think?
Linda Brazier: Just stopped in at one of the bars inside the Marriott waiting on my friend. This place is so over priced and they offer no clear ice for bourbon, they do not keep Patron refrigerated. I can go on on . Nope the Detroit Marriott is not worth it. The bartender was great though I feel sorry for the staff. They need more from the hotel to service customers.
sic “sicduk” duk: Great view and location, but pricey stay to pair with already premium priced room. No room service, costly yet limited breakfast and dining options, lots of walking needed to find anything. It was a good experience but likely not choosing this as a destination for future visits.
Dean Eiden: Near the heart of downtown Detroit. Perfect location right on the waterfrontRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Lovely Lynn aka Ms Unstoppable: Beautiful hotel and very helpful, courteous staff! I can't wait to visit the Marriott Hotel againRooms: Beautiful well decorated roomsNearby activities: This Hotel is in downtown Detroit near all of Detroit's downtown events RestaurantsSafety: Plenty of Security Guards! I felt safe during my entire visit at the MarriottFood & drinks: Everything was simply delicious
Drew Hirsch: Rooms could be updated and the checkin process improved. It took a lot of time to check in even though they weren't busy. Gym is nice and the hotel has great views. The people mover is attached to the building so it makes getting around Detroit easy. Heart plaza is right next door and Greek town and campus martius just a short walk away. Lots of near by restaurants.
Katie Prentice: I was the first time guest of this hotel about 2 weeks ago. I made the reservation, but my friend arrived before me because my flight was delayed. As a result of arriving after midnight, I was still in line after three others who arrived around the same time.I didn't manage to take any pictures of the room, but the room itself was a solid Marriott room. The beds were decent and they were plentiful pillows. Something I always appreciate. The bathroom was not exceptionally clean, I'd put it about it at meh, but the sheets and towels were fresh and we did have soap provided.Unfortunately, even after asking several times, during my entire 5-day stay, we only received housekeeping one time. The three times I asked at the front desk and gave them my room number, they told me that daily housekeeping should still be happening. Clearly this is an ongoing issue for this hotel. I was really surprised, because they could just as easily have said no, it wasn't included daily.Depending on the purpose of my travel, I'm potentially okay with less than daily housekeeping service (if I know in advance), only if there is an appropriate towel bar on which to put my towel. This hotel has one tiny bar in the bathtub area and a hook on the door. That's not acceptable for two or more humans who need to dry towels.I'm a relatively mellow traveler, but this was a very weird situation.I ate one time in the lobby restaurant for breakfast and ordered a pretty standard item and it was fine. Nothing special, but it was a good amount of food. The coffee was a little weak at the breakfast.Otherwise, I did visit the lobby bar one afternoon with several friends, and we experienced excellent service from the bartenders.I'm not sure what's going on with Marriott computers, but this appears to be 4/4 recent stays where my bonvoy points and nights were not credited to my account. I think it's because my friend checked in first and this somehow balled up my reservation. Now I have to wait 10 days to find out anything. The front desk staff are clearly overwhelmed. I believe they are doing the best they can, and every one of them was polite including arriving at midnight and departing later in the week at 6:00 a.m.I stayed here because this was the host hotel for an event I attended. I honestly don't know if I would go back voluntarily. The views are fun if you can look over into Canada; my view the other way into the city was interesting but nothing special. The architecture is fascinating, but if I return to Detroit I'll probably stay somewhere else.
Darrel Boos: I had to call the front desk dozens of times over the course of 3.5 hours just to get some toilet paper so that I could use the toilet in my room.Nearby activities: Allot of things to do a see nearbyWalkability: Allot of things to do nearbyFood & drinks: Nice restaurants nearby
shiquiona hobson: Very beautiful place to stay at but I’ve been calling since Sunday because my card was over charged and the lady who answer the phone put me on hold for a minute. I hung up and called back no answer at all . Even today I’ve been calling it just rings . Chris McKerrow: Really 3.5 stars. Check in often one's first experience with a hotel and needs improvement. Long lines and understaffed, while staff was very nice I was told at 3pm that check in was at 4 and room wasn't ready. I waited for a text until 4:30 and waited again in line only to be told I still didn't have a room. After making my case, the receptionist was able to find a room for me. Rooms were Marriott standard - comfortable and functional. Elevators are old and there aren't enough for the number of people staying here - and, one day I was on the elevator stuck between floors for a few minutes. I have to give the staff a shout-out - restaurant staff works hard in a busy bar. Receptionists are all very helpful but in the end it's a 3.5 star stay.
Nurgül Kılıç: The location is really nice, I definitely recommend you to stay
Carrie Adams: I’m a very mellow hotel guest. I don’t look for minor issues to complain about and let many things roll off my back. I’ve literally never complained at a Marriott hotel. Ever. This hotel is an awful example of the Marriott chain. One thing I cannot abide is consistent poor service. This Marriott is consistent in only one area. Bad service.First day, I had the great luck to get it wait in a super long check in line not once but twice. I had checked in via the app the evening before, as I usually do. I arrived before posted check-in time but wanted to drop my luggage while waiting for the room. After waiting in line for about half an hour, I was informed that a generic request I had added when booking (king bed, nice view if possible) would prevent the mobile key from alerting me to the room availability. No problem, they will call me as soon as the room is available. My phone number was confirmed, I asked about leaving my luggage, where I was directed to take it back down to a lower floor (where I originally entered) to drop off with bell services. The main entrance *does not* have any type of bell services signs and bell services is in a hidden side door. Really odd. The bell services person has been the only bright spot in this whole ordeal (isn’t that a sad statement). He was great and lovely in general. After wandering for several hours and it now being AFTER check-in time with no phone call as promised and no alert, I headed back to the hotel where I was lucky enough to wait in another 45 minute line. The front desk person was obviously exhausted and overworked, but was helpful in providing directional cues because this hotel is not intuitive designed to say the least. Finally got into my room over an hour after the check-in time and after waiting over an hour in two lines. Yay!Housekeeping was not providing their a-game. Hair from a past guest was left on the bathroom door (a lovely, large clump of hair). Gross. No hand soap was provided, so to wash my hands I need to go to the shower and use the body gel and wall-locked pump to get some soap. Classy.(I’ve confirmed with several other guests staying here that they too did not receive hand soap so this is a THING apparently and not an oversight as we all individually assumed…what a weird choice to make for cost-cutting. Who needs clean hands?!?!)Crumbs aligned the floor between the two beds. Again, I’m pretty mellow so I figured the beds were clean and I could handle not hanging my towels on the bathroom hook to avoid a clump of gross hair until housekeeping came by the next day.The word count limits me from clearly expressing all of the issues, but as succinctly as possible: dirty hotel room, no housekeeping service yet during my stay (and finally requesting today was met with what I can only describe as annoyance that I asked for something that should have been done), two hours to get ice that was ultimately unusable, broken doors, broken safe and many hours to even get someone to show up to make a super simple fix (reset the code), and on and on and on. I didn’t ask but a front desk person assured me that a manager would DEFINITELY be following-up about the issues. One guess as to whether the manager has called to follow up. Yeah, this is obviously a cultural issue. It starts at the top. There is zero accountability or follow-up and most definitely zero sense of urgency to fix issues that they have created themselves.AVOID AVOID AVOID
Noe Guevara: I just had 2 watches and 2 bottles of cologne stolen from my room. Front desk told me they can't check who accessed my room via a key card and that there's no cameras they can check. Filing a police report now. DO NOT STAY HERE!Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5 …More

J A: Everything was broken from the internet to the bed. There was no safe in the room. The Gym the elliptical , treadmill and peloton were all broken so a complete waist of time. We were there for the AIST convention and the room was over $500.00 a night. We will never be back. The staff was very friendly is the only thing nice I have to say about this hotel. Oh yeah and dont bother with the breakfast at this place total waist.
Michael Sullivan: Let me start by staying the location is very good. If you are coming to visit Detroit for any sporting events, then this hotel is the perfect spot. The room I had was a nice size for 2 ppl, nothing special but it's comfortable enough. For shopping and visiting the downtown area everything is walking distance. So for the most part you will not need to drive anywhere. So I would say if you are looking for a affordable place just to lay your head, and want to see a football game or baseball game. This is the spot.
Sam Stott: Great location in the heart of downtown. Near Greektown, the casino, and the Lions and Tigers. Pleasant place. No bar or restaurant but lots within walking distance. Appreciated the blackout curtains on the window.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More

JJ P: Pretty clean some odd smells on bedding and the pullout couch was TERRIBLE , not a good sleep sleeping on springs popping thru, they need to get new pullouts.
Jacqueline Gray: Overall or stay was nice. Room was pretty clean, bed was nice, and the staff were excellent and the hotel is literally in waking distance to everything downtown. My only issue is that I don't feel like it was worth the price. The room is over $229.00 dollars, there's a $45.00 valet parking charge ( you can only park valet), $16.00 per person to eat breakfast, And they're a $85.00 holding fee that they return when you leave if you didn't do anything to ruin the room. So make sure you have the money to cover EVERYTHING including whatever you plan to do while here in Detroit. The place is a bit outdated and the restaurant on the property is closed. Yes it is in the pictures. But it is not open for business. So you'll have to eat elsewhere! I just don't feel that the hotel is worth the cost.Rooms: We were in the 10t h floor. So we had great view of the city. There is an motor cycle club coffee by who were pretty noisy. But it wasn't too bad.Nearby activities: Everything to near this bar if you don't mind walking.Walkability: Music Hall/jazz center is right next door. Greek center about 6 min walk. Also the Hotel casino within walking distance. There are restaurants all around that you can walk to.Food & drinks: There's a lot of places to eat and drink that are literally in waking distance. That's a major plus!!

From the moment I arrived, the valet service treated me like a VIP, making me feel right at home. The hotel's decor was visually captivating, with a stylish and unique aesthetic that extended throughout the entire property. The rooms, in particular, were quirky and cool, adorned with interesting artwork and filled with cute touches that added a playful and whimsical charm. Stayed here for 4 nights and felt that we got a good feel for it.Check in was easy and the front desk staff was great, personable and helpful. Location is excellent (one block from Tigers stadium, a few blocks from the Fillmore and other music venues), and we loved that it’s dog friendly. The first floor is beautiful, with classy vintage furniture and a tropical New Orleansesque feel, and is home to a high end cocktail bar called the Candy Bar, which was intimate and classy. The black and white tile flooring on the way to the elevators gave the hotel a cool retro feel. The room itself felt a bit small, but the furnishings were nice. Comfy beds, great shower with a large window overlooking downtown, cute and old furnishings. The window shades were cute but didn’t fully cover the window, and let a lot of light through in the morning. The one downside, and reason for subtracting a star, was that for the price, we expected more amenities. The hotel had few frills; there was no coffee machine in the rooms, no fitness center, no food served (apparently there’s a restaurant but it was closed the week we stayed), no vending machines to get water or beverages (the front desk staff was amazing and was able to tap into the fridge at the coffee cafe in the front to get us bottles). For the cost of the room, we expected a bit more. That said, really enjoyed our time and would stay again
Briana McCarthy: Very atmospheric and cool spaces. The hotel staff was very helpful and personable. Easy walk to the riverfront. My only complaint was everything kind of has this sweet tinged smell and whatever scent they were pumping into the room was slightly headache inducing.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

gerald congdon: This certainly feels like a boutique hotel. There's nothing cookie cutter about it. The hotel bar, called the candy bar, is as unique as its name. This hotel certainly has a historic feeling once you walk through the doors.

Belle Isle Beach: what do users think?
Angela Taylor: I love this place!!! It’s an important space to a lot of people!
Jenny & Alex: January 1st at noon. Be there!
MutaProd Muta: One of good beaches have been too I can’t wait to go back again
Skyrah: I love this place!!! It’s an important space to a lot of people!! Don’t listen to the one star commenter complaining because ITS BUSY AND POPULAR and yes sometimes natural bodies of water are dirty lolAnyway I’d spend everyday sunny day of summer here if I could, go check it out!!Diverse groups of folks having a blast all over Belle Isle.
David Istilart: It's really nice when there are not that many people. It needs a faucet to clean your feet off the sand.A particular group of visitors is really loud, rude, trash the place by leaving lots of garbage, play cacophonic music very loud, call names and insult you without reason. The rangers should do additional patrolling AND ticket them or remove the unruly visitors. Thanks to DTE and their volunteers for helping with the cleaning so we keep such a nice location clean, it was quite satisfying to see the beach with such a nice view the way Mother Nature intended.
Loreta Kiseliovas: I love Bell Isle, but wish they would open the bath and get rid of those nasty out houses.
Freddie G.: People blatantly leaving garbage on beach with trash cans with in feet away!!!!!!
Yemen Blogger: Nice place
Omda Hakeem: The worse beach I have ever been to. I paid $5 to enter and I thought it would be fun. The water is nasty and it was overwhelming and loaded with a lot of people. So I would never visit it again. Waste of time and money.
michelle Grant-Stemen: We loved this beach! Was clean and water was beautiful! Lots to do on Belle Isle.
Terry Hernandez: It’s a nice place to go and relax! It’s usually clean and not crowded during the week days.
James Allen: Nice natural scenery and space, although crowded on certain occasions and one needs to be careful with individuals who don't consider others around them while blasting music or smoking near children and pets.
Sherryanna: My dog loves swimming near the canoe launch. He gets to play with lots of other pooches. Only wish the county would place a stop sign because people tend to exceed speed limits in this pedestrian crossing area.
Chyna El: My low key spot
Kourtney Rudolph: Nice sand.
Love Moonflower: This place is awesome I had so much fun hanging out with the little kids that I didn’t even know. Everyone was amazing. The water etc. I love it here. So many types of peoples and cultures coming together in this spot . I miss community like that. I will be back for sure :)
debjyoti das: Nice beach and it's pretty busy during the weekend. Good place to bring your kids but always keep them within your sight.
Vernice Brown - Griffin: Finally got to take my little one to Belle Isle in the "D" I was so happy to spend this time with her on a few trips this summer. Even got the little cousins out.State troopers are always there to help and the parks and recreation as well. Don't forget to stop at the food and ice cream trucks when you go. Summer 2021 Fun place all around.
C. H.: Beach is not that great but it's still awsome
London Brooke Apparel: I've been going to this island since I was a kid and it never gets old. It's so peaceful and serene now! 😉😊
Jennifer Rivas: No entendí porque me dijo que estaba cerrado😡 aquí dice que está abierto.

Hotel at The Detroit Club: what do users think?
Mateo Marchan: Outdated institution and facility. I spent one night at the Spa Suite as I passed through town. The spa was mediocre, the front staff was unpleasant, and I later learned about the owner's bigotry. I wouldn’t recommend lodging at the Detroit Club.Additionally: I struggled falling asleep on the fourth floor due to street and hallway noise. Our spa suite had a severe lack of soundproofing.
Mel: I'd advise staying at the Foundation hotel instead. Or sonder if you want a budget option. This place is stuffy, pretentious & the minimal noise insulation from room to hallway had me getting woken up all night by rowdy guests. The grotto is very relaxing, but the rooms are outdated and not great for the price.
Sikei Clark: Vey nice hotel the stay was well worth it I definitely would recommend this hotel
doug mcdonald: Well preserved historic building but but could not accomodate half of my friends party even though there was enough roomService: 3/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Jeremy Howe: What a cool little spot for Detroit! The stay was basically made by the guy Alex at the desk who just made everything so easy and made my stay amazing. It was a long trip to Detroit but it really made me feet better to have that kind of hospitality.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Lucia Step: This review is based on pictures of the hotel and the inside of the lobby, because the hotel sold my room to someone else. I made a reservation on Expedia and paid ahead of time. When I arrived to check in, the front desk clerk--who was very nice--told me the hotel realized it was overbooked a few days earlier and had contacted Expedia. However, Expedia did not contact me until after I was already on my way to check in.I know these things happen sometimes, but I was very upset that a manager did not offer to help me find a new hotel or to apologize. People pay for hotels ahead of time because they need a place to stay--I did my planning, why hadn't the hotel? The clerk was sympathetic and kind, and I could tell he would have liked to help me, but he was busy checking in other guests. The hotel has a strict dress code, which I did not realize. Apparently sneakers and leggings are not allowed, so I wonder if this is why no one seemed to want to help me. Then again, I saw other guests checking in who were wearing similar clothing, so who knows.I'm not sure if Expedia or the hotel was really at fault here, but why would the hotel use Expedia if they are not going to honor the reservations? Again, I had fully paid for the hotel room at the booking time. The hotel itself is stunning. You could stay there for a vacation and never leave. I'm sure I would have spent a lot more money going for drinks or to the spa, but I never got the chance.
G T: Rude management and awful customer service.
Richard Gerber: Most comfortable beds ever. Right in the middle of everything. Very Exclusive. The salt water grotto pool is like out of a movie. The jets super 👌 powerful. The staff delightful.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Taylor Cross: Hidden gem downtown Detroit! Had a wonderful weekend stay with my significant other. Gorgeous architecture and decor, luxurious and pampering! Definitely check out the spa and grotto and book a treatment if you can! Fantastic cocktails at the bar and Cigar Lounge as well. All the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. 10/10!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Linda Petty: Not welcoming at all.
ron trexler: Dinner here was dynamic. What an experience ❤️
Chris Trevino: Too many red flags about racism
Weston Wilson: very good service, no problem, 10/10 recommendRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Davinia Rizzo: While in town on business travel, I noticed the historical Detroit Club building and looked it up. It seemed interesting, so I booked a massage followed by dinner. This was the best decision I made on my trip!I had the back, shoulder and neck massage at the Spa. Much needed after days of traveling and long hours of work. The spa was luxurious, the masseuse was highly skilled, and I felt great afterwards. The spa is on the bottom floor and includes a pool, sauna and very large changing room with lockers (very luxurious) with all the amenities for you to return yourself to 'normal' after your treatments and go into public!I arrived early for my dinner reservation - it was technically before the restaurant opened but the staff was super nice and seated me anyway. They shared the history of the building and the club and showed me interesting details (the dining room still has the original wallpaper at the top of the ~20 ft ceilings and the chandeliers that are electric now are the same ones that used to hold candles.). The dining room is luxurious in every way. You truly get a feel of what private clubs in the late 1800s were like. You can tell the club is working to maintain the luxury and exclusiveness - so that when one attends the club, it feels very special. It's actually a real treat to get to go to the club as it used to be membership only - but due to being closed during COVID - they have opened up to non-members. They do plan to eventually go back to a membership basis so I highly recommend going now - especially if you don't live in the area, like me!The staff was super friendly and very responsive and made me feel at home. Since I was by myself, I had time to look around and watch. The staff learns everyone's name and addresses them by name during the whole meal. It was touching to see the staff preparing tables for upcoming reservations. I heard them saying to each other: 'This table is for the XX family. Let's move this here so they can see out the window. This table is for so and so - we should put the glasses here.' They were thinking about the experience just like you and I would plan for family coming to eat. I also noticed - with my meal and others - that the food is served in courses - with very intentional timing based on time to eat the previous course, digestion time, etc. They specifically discussed these courses and the timing when I asked. It was perfect for me to enjoy the meal - but very unlike typical American dining experiences where you have starters, an entrée and dessert and they are served as fast as you can wolf them down or even at the same time. Be sure to plan time to eat here - don't expect to rush. I was never longer than 5 minutes without a course, but I was given enough time to eat it and a course was never brought out before I had finished the one before. The food was top notch! I had french mussels - cooked perfectly with a garlic butter sauce and warm bread for my first course. It was followed by a super crisp , fresh caeser salad. I had the filet mignon (which is a generous 9 oz filet) which was cooked exactly as I ordered (my waitress waited while I cut it to make sure). I had the wild mushrooms with my filet - very tasty. And, since I can never resist a dessert, I had the triple chocolate cake served with vanilla bean ice cream. This is a REAL cake. Absolutely delicious. And huge. By this time I was beyond stuffed - it was all too good! All in all - an excellent experience at a historically interesting and beautiful location -with super friendly staff and top notch services and food. I will definitely come again when I am in Detroit.
meow Meow: Gorgeous. My husband used the word sumptuous to describe it. We dined at the hotel restaurant, it was good. Our room was nice.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
leon divers: Horrible.little family owned Hotel/Club. Rude Managment. Operating a hotel is not something they do well. All the employees basically live there. Valet is also the cook/maintenance man/security..
Angela S: Terrible management that takes advantage of young employees! Do not work here or support this business. I'm a college student that looked forward to working here over the summer yet after one day it was the most degrading job experience I have ever had. The wait staff and chefs were incredibly kind but the owner behaved in a very distasteful manner. My first event I and other employees were promised a pay rate of 7 dollars an hour+ gratuity. They even asked me to stay an hour late!!!! To this day, a month later, I have yet to receive any pay whatsoever. I've called the management only to be rudely cut off by the receptionist saying the "situation was under control." It has been 3 weeks and no owner, management, or anybody from the business has reached out about my wages being withheld. They have completely stopped answering the phone. The last I've heard from another employee that also wasn't paid, was that they are refusing to pay! I feel taken advantage of. What type of establishment hires specifically young women and doesn't pay them? During my one day of the employment the owner exhibited strong racist undertones as well. I would not support this business unless you are ok with the mistreatment of staff!
