Jasmine Irani: The Whitney Mansion is a beautiful property with a lot of history. I visited the Ghost Bar on the 3rd floor and ordered the "Witching Hour" drink. It was supposed to be layered tableside, however, the mixologist looked at me from behind the bar (as though I didn't know) and made the drink at the bar. Also, the staff encourages the exploration of the mansion and the area around it (horse stables, garden, exterior of mansion, etc.). But while observing the exterior of the mansion for it's architecture, I was told to wait around in the garden at the front as though I was being suspicious. I didn't like being treated like that.

Crystal Marie: I thoroughly enjoyed the tea service at the Whitney. The staff was amazing, and I got rave reviews on my hat selection (tea time.always requires a hat, lol). The tea menu was delicious and just enough bites to accompany the tea and mimosa. YES! You heard right tea AND mimosa! We drank tea as my girlfriend and I spilled some tea too! Will definitely be returning. I wish they still did their brunch on Sundays.

The dessert was dried yellow cake with ganache on top. I had a date here earlier in the year & recently came back with him as my boyfriend.From the red carpet - to being escorted in by a friendly worker - this restaurant has become one of my favorite places to dine in. Stephanie O'Callaghan: Since it opened, it’s been one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Always meets or exceeds expectations. Love the vibe, the decor, etc and more importantly love the food. It’s fresh and creative, flavorful and doesn’t sit heavy. I like the Mediterranean vibe but they don’t limit themselves creatively. The pastas are always phenomenal. The veggie dishes delicious and thoughtful. I love sitting at the chefs counter and watching them work the open fire and coal oven spaces. Great beverage list too! Highly recommend. I always stop here when I’m in the area.

I was pleasantly surprised how tasty the drink was given I'm usually underwhelmed by restaurant cocktails. The food was amazing. I was able to try the green salad, roasted broccoli, roasted pasnips, roasted potatoes, cacio e pepe, chittara, and beef tartare. All were excellent, but the pastas (cacio e pepe and chittara) and the roasted potatoes were my favorite. I tried the horchata tres leche cake for dessert. I've never tried this style of cake before and I wasn't a big fan, but it was good to try something new. I also tasted a bit of the pecan pie -- highly recommended. Looking forward to trying this place out again.

Todays Present: This was a perfect dining experience. Ryan is the best waiter. After coming here again, I will request him every time. He gives excellent recommendations and his descriptions ensure there are no surprises. I loved everything we had here. The sweet potato pasta and the mushrooms were my absolute favorite. The broccoli was great, but very spicy. The duck on toast was divine! The tri tip and the raspberry tart were just okay (I wouldn't order again). I enjoyed having the dining room reservation, the communal reservation would be too loud/close and not my type of experience. The scallops were spicy but irresistible. The hake is the only thing I’ve ever tried here that did not meet the standards of the rest of the food. It was mushy and inedible. I wasn’t told if this was a fluke or by design. But I would not recommend the hake.

And how are charging over $20 for vegetables?? $18 for some cooked cheese? Tiny little portions . We had 3 “‘meals” and shared 3 appetizers and still weren’t full. To top it off, I got extreme food poisoning from there. I don’t mind paying more for a good dinner, but at least include some sides and have more salad choices. Not very impressed in the least bit. Erick Haynes: On the way home there was open discussion  about our experience, and we decided to share some notes.We were a party of 4 on a Thursday  night. It was not crowded. The drinks  were great. We ordered super troopers  2.0. Great flavors paired with tequlia. The salads  were  great! The entrée was  salmon(grilled maybe?) in a shallow mushroom broth. It wasn't full of flavor, but it wasnt over cooked.  Bread  pudding was decent, a little more dense than I would've expected, but it was a doughnut bread puddling. The portion  size wasn't great because we went home hungry. Our servers/bussers  sort  of circled  our table too much, and we all felt a little rushed. Our table was unofficially cleared. Our bill was about $350 ( auto gratuity included for 4 people). I forget the percentage  they charged and may have missed the policy, too. These actions made us feel rushed as we were celebrating.Please tell your wait staff not to remove paid full water bottle and glasses while patrons are finishing their experience. It may have been like 8:30/9ish when we realized the waiter was waiting to clock out.We're not sure if dinner would be an idea. Maybe well try again in a smaller party or meet up for maybe cocktails.Overall for the amount of money we spent, I would've expected the experience to match.

moe khereddine: Valet issue - I was walking with my wife and my kid down the street on Saturday around 7:30pm while 2 valet gentleman with blue shirt were standing outside the restaurant. Water was leaking out of the plant pot by the door so we decided to move and not step on the water. Out of nowhere valet guy was shouting this is water water water water more than 6 times and he was mocking us thinking that we did speak English due to my wife wearing a scarf while his customers and the other valet were standing and laughing. To the restaurant: have a small conversation with your valet contractor and inform them of the situation. This is downtown Detroit the valet guys encounters lawyers and law people walking down the street on a daily basis and they never know who might they run into.

Ken Coulter: I went last weekend with my family for mother day. I had to put down a $125 deposit that was suppose to go towards my bill. It did not. I was then told I was going to be getting a refund for the $125, it has now been 7 days without refund nor reciept that one was issued. I have called everyday since Tuesday and each day I would get two young ladies who seemed very annoyed I was calling for my money. I was told that it was on the gm desk on Tuesday and Wednesday and still have not heard back from anyone. Between the rude hostess when we arrived, to the watered down drinks, and now this LCH has definitely lost my future business. I would just like to have my money back and move on.

David DeCroix: My favorite restaurant. Always 5 stars. Ambiance, live music, throwback to a bygone era with the old 313 house phone and the long gorgeous bar. Harkens back to a day of greatness that is not lost here. In MANY visits we only had one mishap here and it was taken care of seriously by the management team. The effort to ensure they stay top of class is clear through the whole organization here.

Takica Lee: Food was average at best so severely overpriced. I told them it was my birthday and they tried to seat me in a booth with a baby in a carrier next to me. Stop seating people so closely just so you can shove as many diners in as possible. The only bright spots were the doorman, whose inviting and pleasant demeanor leads you to believe the whole experience is going to be as great, and the carryout containers that make great Tupperware. Oh and the live band was nice.
