Cassobandz HEA: They took my plasma and everything and didn’t pay me for it because they messed up the label. Staff is rude and they should be shut down! This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with this!

Amber Haney: The 1st time I went here I had no problems, there was a male nurse that was doing my blood, but when I tried donating again either I would feel lightheaded and they would turn me down which I understand why, some nurses in there were fine but some like the male nurse I had acted like they didn’t want to be there

Eliza Rice: I started donating blood to ARC at MSU a lifetime ago. Pretty sure the new college nurses used us for practice. Such is not the case in Warren. They know what they are doing and work as a team. I've seen the Sr staff members training new staff. Unless we move I won't go elsewhere!
Jayme Ann: Drove 30 minutes to get to Red Cross. Very disappointed when I was turned away WITH AN APPOINTMENT due to lack of staff. I do not meet qualifications for double red and did not have 2 hours to donate plasma. If you are not going to have staff, do not have appointments available. Very disappointed they did not call or text to cancel appointment before I drove all the way there.
girlytoads: I had a very pleasant experience donating platelets. Brianna is very sweet.Comfortable chair, kind Red Cross workers. I watched a movie as I gave platelets. Bring your favorite cozy blanket and a mask 😷 to wear.

Ryan Wietchy: The phlebotomist left the tourniquet on way too tight for the duration of my donation. She placed the needle in and then quickly went into a private room right away with another patient without telling me she was leaving or that another employee will be assisting me in the meantime. She was very rushed and also couldn’t use one of the blood sample tubes because she was going too fast. Now I have nerve irritation and issues with my arm due to their negligence. Not sure if she was inexperienced but they seemed very understaffed and not a good customer service experience.
Tanya F: I was 6 minutes late for a 3-hour platelet donation and was given a “talking to” about being on time. I’ve been donating platelets for years at other centers without issue. However, two out of the 3 times I’ve been at the Warren center now, they were either rude, unprofessional and/or borderline negligent. I worked in healthcare for 10 years and know the difference, though I assume for most it would also be hard to ignore.The last time, the tech nearly completely ignored me and had a personal discussion with her coworkers throughout the procedure. I assume it’s easy enough to pay attention to a donor while you’re working with them for 5 minutes, and to perhaps check back in with them at least every 1/2 hour or so. They finally checked on me only when I had 10 minutes left to go.I recommend setting an alarm for those who have difficulty remembering to do it and some sort of professionalism training for the staff.Needless to say, I will be donating elsewhere in the future.

Lori Shaw: Not a positive experience! Power Red donation scheduled. Needle was inserted incorrectly, no issue on my part, staff unapologetic, was given a ice pack and told I had to wait 8 weeks before donating again. Even with Rapid Pass after 1 hour and 15 min all I received was a large bruise and not even a thank you for my time, extremely disappointed with my experience here. Tried to save a life...sadly I couldn't!
Holly Feikens: Just got turned away from a drive for being late for my appointment. There were no signs, no evidence of a drive. Maybe turning away your O neg, CMV neg donors isn't the best practice. Don't worry I'll explain it all when you call me to ask why I haven't donated recently.I did give 3 stars because this was the first bad experience. I'm not going to completely penalize the Red Cross for one bad employee.

Draugr Undead: The people are kind, but they've never been able to get blood from my fiancé :/ either they've closed up for maintenance, or couldn't complete the blood donation for some reason or another. My fiancé has Hemochromatosis so he needs to get his blood taken anyway, and we want to donate it. Just nothing has been able to work out and he's getting sicker.(Hemochromatosis is too much iron in the blood and inability to get rid of it. The blood is fine to give to other people, but to the sufferer, it poisons them slowly. Getting blood taken regularly keeps the iron levels down.)

Wan K: I was there nobody cares about me I just stand there and wait for someone to greet me and instruct me. I waited till time past someone came and told me I was late I need to reschedule and come back another time. I was confused I was there on time but on one care. I don’t live in this area. it wasted my time and it’s so disappointing.
Russ Patterson: 50 units donated... Not my first rodeo from donation centers to my preferred blood drives. Had time this morning, I used the app to verify a power red availability in Redford at a church. I arrived to discover that they never got the machine in and nobody is removing it from the Blood Donor App. So I book at this Livonia blood donation center thinking that it has three times available and so the machines got to be there. I arrived ten minutes before my appointment. I find out at that time for other people are currently waiting for double reds and platelets and they are being told it's going to be much longer because their staff didn't come in today only having one person on the machine. Even red cross's own place doesn't update their app.
Ann McHenry: Location is a little hard to find - no signs on the exterior. But the people are fantastic. Natalie did a quick, easy and painless job. This will definitely be my go-to location from now on.

Stephanie Hope: I went to this location to donate platelets for the second time and let me tell you, IT WILL BE MY LAST AT THIS LOCATION. My first donation was great! Krystal was awesome start to finish, however my second appointment was horrible! I arrived 10 min early for my scheduled appt only to wait almost 30 min before they started my intake. My appt was @ 9:30 and my donation started at 10:45. My tech who's name I still don't know was nice, but had the charge manager check the site on my right arm only to have her mess with the needle and cause a huge hematoma so I had to be poked again. I am still bruised all over my right arm 5 days later and it is still painful! Then when my donation was done the same manager came over without warning and ripped the tape off my arm with no regard for me at all, then walked away and left me there so I finished cleaning up myself and got off the chair. She was very rude and I will not be donating to the red cross ever again! The red cross also did not give the $ amount that was promised for the gift card. DO BETTER RED CROSS!!!!!!!
Sarah Hughey: I'm surprised at all of the negative reviews here. I donated blood this morning and had a great experience -- the process went quickly, and everyone was professional and friendly. I enjoyed chatting with the staff as I did my blood donation and felt that my experience here was similar to donating blood in other locations in the past.
Angela Little: I went to donate platelets at this location a few days ago. I made sure I was on time. My appointment was at 230pm. When I walked in two employees looked my way but never greeted me. I continued to wait for 10 minutes before someone checked me in. The wifi is horrible here so I had to go back outside to screenshot my Rapid Pass QR code. I came back in and waited. At around 3pm, one of the employees that did not greet me earlier told me that because I was late I would need to reschedule. I was confused and livid. I was not late and her attitude was nonchalant. I called the 1800 number to file a complaint and the representative said the manager would call me, which she/he didn't. I believe in the work of the Red Cross, but I will no longer be donating at this location.

Nic R: The second time I donated platelets was totally unlike the first time, and it will be the last. Not once did anyone check on me the entire two hours and eleven minutes I was there. While they're avoiding making eye contact with you, they're yelling to each other louder than your headphones. Very uncomfortable experience.

Stephanie Parker: I've been coming to this location for almost three years to donate whole blood and platelets, I visit about 15-20 times a year. The staff has always been extremely welcoming and happy to see people filling the chairs. I'd like to think I'm easy-going, but sometimes my veins are not, but I've only had one truly disappointing experience, the rest have been wonderful!

However it’s an hour past my appt time and I’m still not in the chair. No one has come to give me an ETA. This is not a good way to keep donors.
Luca Juuhl: I had a great experience. The nurses were very friendly and competent. Even though I was running late they were very accommodating. The whole plasma donating process took no more than an hour and it was quite painless. I would definitely come back again.

Makes you feel the need for donations and thank you for being there. I had scheduled an appointment for a Saturday and it was not extremely busy. I waited maybe five minutes and then we were off.

Someone else did fix it and comfort me and I appreciate that. Some people that work here really don’t care about other people and just stick us with no care

Sismj: The place was kept clean (which I love), and the techs are knowledgeable about the before, during and after process. (just ask them what should you do for care after you've been detached from the machine). They thoroughly check your physical health out according to the FDA guidelines for donating. The 1st time donating it will be at least 3-4 hours because of all protocols. The second time will be abt 2 hrs start to finish depending on how well you're hydrated. For those that can, drink a muscle milk with at least 25g of protein before and after the donation. Eating leafy veggies before (salad or cooked) will help recovery substantially.

Beth Alvarez: Worst experience yet. They called me and sent me multiple letters asking me to come donate again because they didn’t have enough of my plasma to make anything. So they sent an offer $130 and express through the lines. Well I didn’t get express, then had to wait 30 solid minutes to be disconnected from the machine, music was blaring inappropriate songs, there was no urgency behind ANYONES movements and by the end of that S*** show I was not given $130 it took me another hour on the phone for them to put it on. All of the workers had awful attitudes as well, being rude and stomping around the facility. It was really sad. I’ve been to other locations that were great so it’s definitely a location problem not a company wide problem.

Anna: The facilities are good, but the workers at the front are kinda rude. I don’t donate often, but when I go the workers are very short with me and seem irritated. I get you work with different people and it’s exhausting, but it’s the bare minimum not to be rude to someone coming to donate

Dannielle Moses: Very slow. It takes 3 to 4 hours to donate when it shouldn’t. Some of the workers are very rude and don’t care about the donors. The facility needs to staff more people and stop overworking those few who does really care. I wouldn’t recommend this plasma center to anyone that’s for sure. One more thing there needs to be more than one screener it makes no sense to wait to be screened for an hour.

Razor Thump: Octapharma is a great place for a few reasons but one of the main reasons I like this place is the staff is great. Mary is a great employee who is both calm and collective. She's is great at keeping you company while screening you. It's hard to find a lot of people who commits to good service like that. She derves a raise and anything good that comes her way.
IdahoTheGhola: Lynn is the best most congenial worker in reception; I am always confident that my concerns will be addressed and nerves will be calmed before donations. It is rare gift for someone to be both professional and straightforward when dealing with clients in a medical facility, but Lynn is that one.

Christina Reynolds: I was about to volunteer to give blood at a blood drive for my job, and my appointment was at 3pm. I arrived at 3:03 and I was abruptly confronted by what looked to be a nurse who told me that the grace period was 5 minutes and they weren't taking anyone else. She was very rude and I though the point was to help people in need. I am just putting this out there because I was very put off and I probably wont volunteer next time they come. You need to be careful about who you allow to represent your company to the public.

Rose Kraemer: Great skilled staff. Usually a wait but it's worth the cause.
Debi Davenport: I am so sick and tired of repeated phone calls from the Red Cross I can not even say. I have repeatedly (and I do mean repeatedly) asked whom ever is calling to not call, take me off of their list, or any thing else that I could think of to say and it does not stop! I have tried calling the Red Cross or finding some other way to tell them and it is not possible. I WILL NEVER DONATE OR HELP THEM AGAIN WHEN THEY SO OBVIOUSLY DO WHAT EVER IT IS THAT THEY WANT TO DO. I AM ALSO LETTING EVERYONE THAT I KNOW TO PLEASE BE AWARE AND DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR PHONE NUMBER!

barkerrd: The Red Cross blood donation centers work swiftly and efficiently. Donors can sign up for a Rapid Pass which can be scanned for all their information. Refreshments always provided with an ambassador (host) to speak with.
