Kate Specht: I will start with a positive: our waitress was great! Unfortunately, the food was not. My friends all ordered pretty much the same food, so it was delivered in a reasonable time. I had ordered an omelet which took 30 extra minutes and tasted awful. The waitress was nice enough to take the omelet off the bill. Also, the avocado toast that my friends odered had barely and avocado. However, the waitress brought more for the table. Its too bad they don't have an expedite staff worker in the kitchen to make sure the cooks know the orders so the food is delivered at the same time and ensure the food is correctly made.

Me and my sister were invited and brought our babies. While waiting for our table, the wait staff had told us they were preparing our table and preferences on where we would like our babies to be seated. A family walks in and after the table is set up for what was supposed to be us, the general manager seats this family. When this was mentioned to the general manager, he said he was sorry and said he would get a table in 5 mins. 5 mins turned into 15 mins. We were not seated until 11:05 AM. When we were seated, my friend had mentioned that she was very disappointed so far for the service. The manager let her know "I got you" in regard to our meal. The food was good - don't recommend the red velvet pancakes, but the eggs benedict and fries were good. The waitress was good, only thing was she did not ask if we wanted bill split. When we got the bill, the manager had taken off $25 for a bill. We wanted to bill split so they gave us new bills. I wasn't told until later that day that when the bill was split, there were extra charges that were input into our friend's bill. Due to this experience, unfortunately I do not see myself coming to this brunch spot again. I recommend Lena's kitchen in Wixom, better food, price, and service.

Dalon Kennedy: So this was my second experience eating at this restaurant. I believe this spot has so much potential. But there were a few problems with my experience.#1 I didn't know who my waitress was, until we got the bill. She asked us if we wanted more water at the end while giving us the check. But yet I'm forced to pay 20% gratuity??? For bad bad service.#2: The food was only ok. Being more specific, the grits were a little too congealed. The shrimp was good. But lacked flavor. We received one dish at a time with about 10 mins between the first and last. We got three things, the chicken was good but tiny wings with no meat. The waffles were the best thing on the table. The potatoes were cut different thicknesses with some being uncooked. I wouldn't pay 100$ for this meal and tip again.#4 We had a different waitress take our order after we asked for service 1 hour or longer after sitting there. She instantly started making excuses for our waitress. Saying it was busy but there was no wait.#4 The place was so hot, a lady passed out from the heat. Like muggy and miserable. SMHOverall I gave it a 3 but it was like a 2.5 overall.

We went on a Saturday morning around brunch, and thought it was closed because chairs were stacked on the tables. It was open. When we walked in someone walked in after us and told us how incredible the food was and how he planned to take a friend who was coming into town there and wanted to make a reservation, in person, he didn’t stay to eat.The food was unremarkable, family style, pretty expensive for what you get, esp the ambiance and service not being great. I ended up getting eggs over easy, bacon, sweet potatoes, and toast. The toast was good, the sweet potatoes were candied, I didn’t like them but my husband did so the verdict is out on whether I just found them disturbing or if they actually were good. Either way they are heavily candied, very sweet. The bacon was normal, and the eggs were not seasoned.My husband tried to order the chicken and waffles but after ordering he was told they ran out of wings, weird. Anyway, I wasn’t a fan and wouldn’t go back.

Steve H: Went this morning and were the first customers in to be seated and served. They were actually cleaning/straightening up as we were being seated and it was cold that even the staff thought so and still had their jackets on. I really came for the Catfish and salmon Croquettes which they had neither of so i was left with the shrimp n grits because i only eat fish & seafood/no other meats. They serve their food in family style portions to be shared and you order how ever many different ones you'd like and we settled on the Pick 5...not sure if that's correct name. We ordered chicken n waffles(2 items), shrimp and grits(2 items), fried potatoes w/peppers and onions(1 items), + a side order of black bean veggie sausages. Food was all Tasty, only issue was that the food did not come out at the same time! We received the potatoes, waffles and veggie sausages at least 10-15 minutes prior to receiving our piping hot chicken and shrimp and grits! And our waitress never mentioned any drink offers 🙄 which may have been partially my fault because I asked for coffee so quickly because it was so cold inside of the restaurant almost as if they may have just arrived prior to opening and the place had not been cleaned and warmed up too long prior. It fills up fast and seating appears to be somewhat limited but plenty of potential if there is some upgrades on the decor(windows needed cleaning and interior could use a more adequate painting) but overall this could be a Lovely place to come to. Like i said we did not get a chance to try any of their drinks and the live music guy was having issues with his setup so hope that went well. May be worth a revisit on the right day to this Black Owned restaurant✊️ p.s. you might wanna pay with cash because there was a nice wait after our card was taken to pay the bill to the point that we had to ask the other waitress if she could see if there was an issue which we were told that there was an issue with their system and they apologized for the wait time. Give it a try and you may just find your new spot👍

Natalie Frakes: This restaurant has a special place in my heart. It has been in Corktown for over 12 years and I used to come here all the time with friends because it was the only breakfast spot with veggie options around. Still amazing but they service alcohol now. I was pleasantly surprised to see their menu hasn’t changed much which is a good thing because it was always a creative and tasty menu. World class Traveler: Food was good. All yall in the D want to go to the dime store downtown when youre sleeping on this gem. Customer service was good. What sold me was how they treated the lady who appears to have a dementia. They didnt not treat her like trash bc she wasnt a patron. She just wonders in. She used to work up the street for 30 years, so she must be confused. They just let her do her thing. The humanity that they showed that lady...I will definitely come back. It meant a lot to me bc this is the population i work with.
