Christa Alessandri-Howley: We have worked with Crystal Marie and her team on several fundraising events for the past two years. She was extremely helpful in handling the venue logistics allowing us to focus on organizing the event program and soliciting sponsors. On the day of the events, she and her team were amazing! Crystal Maire worked with and managed the venue, caterers, etc. It was such a relief to know that she had all of that under control. If there was a problem or issue -- she handled it and we didn't even know about it. We could focus on talking to donors and sponsors, greeting the speakers of the program, and handling media needs--all of the things that we needed to focus on. Abeni Ofunniyin: When my father passed away, my family and I soon realized, arranging a funeral in times of Covid was UNREAL, OVERWHELMING, and STRESSFUL. We had the details, we thought we knew who to call about what, but still it soon became too much. I made one phone call to Crystal and she could hear in my voice, I was losing it. I asked her what it would take for her to fly down and just "handle it" and she said, "I already booked my flight"! I literally started crying. That is not only professionalism, that is love. That is someone that knows what you need and is ready to help at every turn. She immediately (from Detroit) starting getting on the phone with event places in Charleston, SC to ensure we had what we need for the Celebration of life for my father (stage, chairs, etc). This was a different type of event but she knew exactly how to step in and handle it all with grace and poise. Vandall Greene: This has been a very negative experience and my fiancée and I can not in good conscience recommend anyone work with Touch of Elegance and Carrie Gentry. Carrie was wonderful in our initial meeting but soon there after she began to cancel, reschedule, or completely miss online meetings. She pushed us over to her assistant, who tried his best to help us, but we’ve ultimately have done everything ourselves when we paid (were paying )for the full planner package. We haven’t spoken to her in months. She doesn’t answer calls or return them and given the fact that we have paid her a good sum of money we want a full refund. We hope the best for her because she seems nice and all. Maybe she’s going through something and that’s understandable but without communication we are left to feel swindled. We can attest that the negative reviews are accurate and we hope that all of this is resolved.
Chris Simpson: DO NOT USE Touch of Elegance as your wedding planner! Veryunreliable and unresponsive. We chose this company after having a meeting with one their planners, Carrie Gentry, and thought this would have been a good fit. We were wrong! We chose the package of 60 days service with the idea that the planner will start the job 60 days from our wedding. We have not heard anything from Carrie at the beginning of the service date. After the start of service date, we had to call the office several times before we got a hold of her assistant. Her assistant stated that she will call us back when she is available. After a week, she contacted us. We provided her the info for all of our vendors and her job was to coordinate time and plan out the wedding with the venue, she never did that. We planned the whole day ourselves. The week of the wedding, Carrie disappeared on us again, this time is was due to a medical emergency. We found this out because our venue coordinator never heard from her and reached out to her via email. Which then Carrie assistant emailed us back 3 days prior to our wedding stating Carrie was ill. The night before our wedding rehearsal, Carrie's assistant (new wedding planner) Marian contacted us to gather information on our wedding and wedding rehearsal. We gave the vendor list to Marian and gave her the plans for the big day. Marian was so lost! She repeatedly told us she assisted Carrie with weddings and has been a wedding planner for over 10 years. On the day of the rehearsal she was very unprepared. She didn't know the order of procession or vendor setup. Marian had another event to work the day prior to our wedding so she did not contact any of the vendors. THEY NEVER CONTACTED ANY OF THE VENORS. Marian and her assistant Evelyn struggled to coordinate our entire wedding day. We never heard from Carrie herself to follow up about our wedding day or reach out to apologize /explain what happen. WE DID EVERYTHING OURSELVES!! They are a waste of money and we should have went with someone else.
Nikhil kumar: Touch of Elegance has been just terrible to work with. Our initial call with Carrie went fantastic. She mentioned that she would follow up and had completely disappeared for about 3 weeks. No communication or whatsoever. Trying to get a hold of her or someone at the company is almost imposible. This was after paying our down payment deposit. I understand they maybe busy, but I really hope someone is able to rectify and work with the clients they take on.For future planners, be very careful when booking this company for wedding planning. I should have read other reviews which were quite similar experience as mine.I will update this review if I get a follow up call from someone at this wedding planning company.

I worked directly with Carrie and she went above and beyond to help with the planning including helping me to direct my design and "wedding vision" and she booked a couple of vendors and shopped around to the best quote! During the weekend of my wedding, Carrie was super helpful in setting up and tearing down the decor, coordinating all of our vendors and making sure our day ran smoothly.I noticed a couple of the other reviews mention lack of responsiveness. I experienced this slightly when trying to communicate via email. I found that Carrie was super helpful when I was able to schedule a call through a link that she provided after I was a client.Overall I would recommend Carrie as a planner and event designer. She was able to help the weekend run smoothly and was helpful in creating a vision of the event!

Kelly Carrera: Carrie and her assistant really went above and beyond for our wedding. Carrie scheduled monthly check-in's with me but also was available for any emergency calls. I spend the entire reception of my wedding worry free because Carrie took lead in working with all our vendors so everything went off without a hitch - truly! I don't know how many brides can say that. Would highly recommend her to any bride in the DMV area.

Patty Schroeder: We booked Carrie for my daughters wedding that was suppose to be in May of 2020. Unfortunately COVID had different plans. It was a roller coaster ride with all the planning and replanning and replanning again, however Carrie was amazing through it all. She was always very responsive and very helpful with all our questions. When it came down to the day of the wedding she was on top of her game. When an issue arose she took care of it all. We are very happy with our experience and would book her again in a heart beat.
Alyssa Strickland-Knight: The owner Carrie stole my money and will probably steal yours too. I paid in full up front to save 10%. BIG MISTAKE. I ended up being forced to cancel my wedding. Every other vendor was sympathetic and refunded everything but the deposits quickly. Not Carrie. It took WEEKS to even get a response, then she promised to refund my money, less the deposit. But the refund never came. I called and emailed for months to no avail. Then she changed her office number. I even resorted to contacting a venue associated with her to ask if they knew how to reach her and even they said she was known for not returning calls. Finally I left a bad review in the comments on her Instagram page and her assistant respond to my email but I still don't have my refund a year later. She also did nothing to help me prior to the cancellation except one phone call and one walk through at the venue which I scheduled and coordinated. What a waste. Totally unprofessional. You're better off doing it yourself if you can't spend the money for a real planner.
Sheila Oliver: First of all - I've never written a google review. But this one must be posted. I have been in business for 32 years - I've worked with many vendors. I really wanted to make this work with Carrie. She seemed authentic and caring. It was so important to me that our daughter's wedding was perfect and everything she wanted. So six months into our contract when we were not getting any response from Carrie - either by phone, email or text, I looked at her reviews again. That's when I saw she was doing the same to other paying customers. No answer to texts and emails, excuses upon excuses. My biggest mistake was that I paid Carrie *up front* for everything -- full service wedding planning. She agreed to refund half of our $6,400. We were to receive it mid-September. Our attorney sent demand letters, we sent emails and texts. To no avail. Everything went unanswered. She kept the $3200. My advice is plain and simple -- Do NOT do business with Carrie Gentry.
Maaria Zukas: I debated writing this review but after reading similar reviews and unsuccessfully trying to resolve issues with Carrie of Touch of Elegance, I feel like people thinking about working with TOE need to be cautioned.We met a number of planners and ended up choosing TOE because of Carrie’s convincing experience and that she happened to be a former classmate of my husband so we assumed we were in good hands. She connected us to a number of wonderful vendors who were absolutely amazing, however, approximately 6 weeks prior to our wedding Carrie went radio silent. Despite multiple emails, texts and voicemails we heard nothing and had to move forward with changing all of our schedules around to plan and coordinate things on our own.Approximately 3 weeks prior to our wedding, we received an email from Carrie stating that she was sorry she had been MIA but didn’t have access to email or a phone but was ready to work. At this point though all of our vendors had already stepped up and finalized details with us. We notified her of our disappointment and violation/termination of our contract and requested arefund which she agreed to. Over the course of the next month we sent multiple emails & texts following up on the refund and received no response. We sent a final email explaining that if we did not receive our money back in 48 hours we would report her to the BBB, no response. I filed the complaint and an hour later she “refunded” the money to my mother’s credit card.After waiting 14 business days per Square’s policy we saw that the money was still not refunded. We went back and checked Square’s policy and if a refund request is submitted 120 days after the transaction Square will not refund it. We followed up again with Carrie after this and have still not received any follow-up.I would SERIOUSLY CAUTION anyone considering working with TOE, as it is clear they have now on a number of occasions potentially ruined one of the most important days of couple’s lives adding undo stress and burden to an already stressful but should be joyous time
Chelsea DePoole: I thought long about writing this review but I feel others need to be informed. I booked Carrie in July of 2018 and my wedding was scheduled for May 2019. After speaking to Carrie on the phone I felt an immediate connection to her and she was very helpful with different ideas for venue locations. This was all even before hiring her. After shopping around I decided Carrie was a great choice from her reviews and like I said, instant connection when speaking. I hired Carrie for Month/Day of coordination and I was so excited. After making my deposit I didn't hear from her. She never reached out to check in, never provided a checklist or any sort of assistance I can follow along on my own leading up to the wedding. She did tell me about the planning pod website she has for her clients but when I logged on there was nothing for me to do on it. I thought.. ok well I'm only hiring her for month of so maybe that's when she really starts to help? Well by December, I thought I should check in to see if I'm on track and to figure out this planning pod website. I emailed and called and didn't hear back. Giving her the benefit of the doubt that it was around the holidays and she may have other weddings she's working with, I let it go. After the new year I reached out again asking for a phone meeting which we had. During the meeting we went over a loose timeline I had already figured out with my photographer and she also talked me through the planning pod website which suddenly had things for me to do. I asked her if I was using it wrong and she said no she hadn't set it up yet. So little frustrating because this is stuff I could have been working on when I had free time. As we started getting closer to the wedding and I still hadn't heard from her. I met with my florist multiple times and during that time they asked me about my planner and how things were going and when I said we were 2 months out and I still hadn't heard from Carrie she said I should start calling. I called and emailed and no response. I got to one month out when Carrie's contract started and I did not hear from her until I emailed first. She replied with "She was in the process of emailing me." I think at one month out we should have had a meeting scheduled. We didn't. She said she would be in touch and she wasn't. After multiple calls and emails from me I FINALLY got in touch with Carrie. I was 3 weeks out from my wedding at this point and freaking out. I was extremely stressed and wondering where my planner was. Feeling very frustrated that Carrie was so hard to get in touch with and had done nothing to help me at this point I decided to go our separate ways. I was able to find a day of coordinator right after and immediately I was sent checklists, guidelines, spreadsheets, things they told me they send to their clients the day they book, which for me would have been months ago. Luckily I happen to be organized and figured stuff out on my ow but these tools could have alleviated a lot of my stress. Carrie also told me should would give me a full refund and send it immediately. 2 weeks passed and I had not received my refund. After numerous calls, emails, and mention of reporting her to the BBB she offered to VENMO me the money...so unprofessional and more stress that was added on so close to my wedding. I just want others to be aware of what your money can actually get you and what you deserve. It doesn't have to be as difficult as it was for me.

Taylor Moses: I have been a contracted Lead Wedding Planner for Touch of Elegance Events and Designs LLC since mid-spring 2018. In November 2018, I relocated to Atlanta, Georgia to serve as Lead Planner for Touch of Elegance Atlanta. Since being in Atlanta, I’ve only worked two weddings due to Carrie Gentry (the owner of the company) being extremely inconsistent and hard to get in touch with to receive payment for my services. I’ve gotten numerous calls from clients & other contracted planners dealing with the same issue. As a client, this lady will talk an amazing game during initial contact, ultimately to swindle you out of a deposit. Once that’s paid, good luck hearing from her! You will be bombarded with excuse after excuse to why she hasn’t been answering any calls or emails once she finally does answer. Some couples have even pulled out from working with her because of her poor communication and scammish ways, expecting a full refund. Unfortunately, it’s never as easy as it should be! She will ignore you for days, weeks even and then offer a refund in a way in which you did not initially make payment. As a Planner/Intern, please listen to me and run! I repeat, run!!!! I recently did a wedding on 09/07/2019, that I only did out of morality because I really needed the extra money and have yet to receive my payment. Today is 09/13/2019 and the couple paid their balance 08/31/2019. I have texted, called, emailed, even left comments on Facebook (along with another planners affiliated with Touch of Elegance) & still no response! I have begged in pleaded with her, even giving her personal insight to why I’m so dependent on this payment right now and no type of empathy, care or concern was shown as I’m still being blatantly ignored. I’m writing this today to help prevent those from making the same mistake I made trusting this fraud! Please potential couples, save your time and heartache and book elsewhere! Arianna Gard: Carrie and her team at Touch of Elegance are a force to be reckoned with - talented, prompt, calm, and professional. I cannot begin to share all of the ways in which Carrie improved (and saved) our wedding. I recommend her services to anyone who is considering hiring a day-of-coordinator for their wedding. We were married on June 8th, 2019 at the Belle Isle Boat House. The venue is unique and beautiful, but difficult in many ways - you have to bring in everything from tables and chairs to decor. We booked the venue before hiring Carrie, so on our second visit to the venue, we began to get very nervous about our ability to pull off the wedding ... but then we met Carrie. She had solutions to ALL of our questions and concerns. Moreover, even though we only hired her as a day-of-coordinator, she gave us lots of tips during the planning process. On the day of the wedding, the outside of the Boat House flooded. That's right, flooded. AND the elevator was broken. But once again, Carrie and her team led the charge to save the wedding. We sent all of the groomsmen to be her minions and she put them to work. She re-jigged the ceremony layout, got as much of the decor set-up as possible, and honestly saved our wedding. Our friends and family are still talking about how awesome our wedding was - thank you in part to Carrie and Touch of Elegance.

Louisa Howard: When we knew we wanted to be married at the DIA, there was no question that we hoped Ines & Marie could be our wedding planners. From the beginning, we were absolutely blown away by their organization and vision. Chelsey was our lead planner and along with Breanna they were such a joy to work with over the two years we spent planning. Both have such an infectious positive energy and made wedding planning fun rather than stressful. We were amazed by their "can do" attitudes- which make them incredible planners. There is no task too complicated or idea too grand- if you want something to happen, I&M will make it happen! I also loved that they do paper goods and flowers as well. Agata is an amazing florist and executed our design vision perfectly - the outcome was stunning! She matched the flowers with linens/table and overall DIA setting beautifully. It is such an added benefit to have the paper goods in house - one less vendor to coordinate and handoff to worry about. Justyna was wonderful to work with for the stationary/same day paper goods. She sourced incredible paper/vintage stamps/seals and really took the time to listen to our vision when making the designs. Everything came together beautifully and we have I&M to thank for it all. Their timeless aesthetic and ability to truly understand our personalities helped make our wedding incredibly intimate and allowed us to show our guests our love for Detroit and each other. Our family and friends have continued to tell us how much they loved all the personal touches. We cannot thank I&M enough for their tireless effort in making our wedding weekend one we wish we could relive again and again!

After some research and recommendations we came across Ines and Marie. We’re so happy we did.We started the process with some calls and mapped out a timeline with all of the ladies. Once we met in person, they took all of our ideas and creatively designed the feel and flow of the day, with champagne and charcuterie as a compliment to our planning!The girls assisted us in taking all of our ideas and incorporating them into a day that was unforgettable. Each step was spaced out perfectly, including the full design mock up! We were invited to see our table settings and decor choices completely mached up in the studio with a full floral sampling as well!The results were stunning and gave us complete confidence that our wedding would turn out exactly how we imagined…and it was better! Your wedding day is surreal. Your mind is running, you’re thinking of this being the best day of your life and the last thing you want to worry about is transportation, ceremony timing, food quality, a good band/DJ, seating assignments, photographers, first dances etc.With the girls at Ines and Marie by your side, you won’t have a worry on your mind. Your focus will be purely on your new spouse, your family, and enjoying an amazing day with everyone you love! Our wedding day was the most beautiful thing we’ve ever experienced. The team was there every step of the way, from being the first to arrive and the last to leave. These women have your best interest in mind and we wouldn’t go back and choose anyone else. Lexie Trombley: THESE LADIES ARE AMAZING. I honestly cannot put into words how truly awesome this group of ladies are. My husband + I decided to pull the trigger on a wedding in Italy + while most people thought we were crazy (it was 2021 and the boarders had still not opened due to COVID), but the girlies at Ines and Marie fully supported our decision with open arms and optimistic minds. Something we truly needed to take that leap of faith.A year and half later we had the most magical, dreamy, perfect wedding in the mountains of the Amalfi Coast. The area that we chose for our wedding had to be one of the hardest to plan logistically (there were no cars allowed past a certain point and everything was reached via foot or small cart). Everything, and I mean everything went off without a single hitch. They even packed our rented linens/paper goods, etc. in luggage and brought them all the way to Italy. It was everything we could have ever dreamed of and more!I owe it all to these great gals. I had so much fun with them during the planning process, I even considered changing my career path a few times ;) I truly enjoyed each and every meeting, conversation, interaction that we had -- they all have so much to offer and together are the ultimate dream team. Anna Evanoff: My husband and I hired Ines & Marie for wedding planning, design, and florals. Chelsey and Bre took a weight off of our shoulders leading the planning. They gracefully helped us to navigate vendor meetings, contracts, and the numerous choices that are involved in planning for the big day. The team helped us to put together an authentic vision for our wedding and bring to life a sensory experience for our guests. Our reception venue had rich-colors and a traditional design of its own. They exceeded our design expectations, pulling in luxe patterns and bright colors like chartreuse and light blue that worked in beautiful contrast with the space. We were truly stunned! Agata was so creative with the florals as well adding in sprigs of mint for a fresh scent. Justyna helped us to design a custom wine label and a thoughtful guest favor wrapped in custom paper that matched one of our patterned linens. No detail was left unaddressed by these talented women. We really couldn’t recommend this hard working team enough! We are so grateful to have worked with them!
Kelly Kane: Hiring Ines + Marie was hands down the best decision my now husband and I made when we started planning our wedding. I worked closest with Chelsey, who helped us through the emotional decision to postpone our wedding because of COVID. Although the decision was hard, it ultimately worked out amazing because we had the pleasure of working with these ladies for 2 years instead of 1. The entire I&M team executed our event flawlessly, and truly made us feel like guests at our own wedding. From florals, to linens, to overall design, everything was executed flawlessly. Our venue was in June 2022 at a historic hotel in Petoskey, which has been doing weddings for decades. Multiple long time employees told us our wedding was the most beautiful event ever hosted there. I feel so lucky that they made our day so special, and even luckier to have gained new friends in the I&M team.

Jennifer Jocz: Justyna, Chelsey, and Agata did an amazing job designing the wedding decor, paper goods, and florals! They are highly creative and proposed out-of-the-box, one of a kind floral installations and seating displays. We got endless compliments from our guests about the beauty of the invitations and the attention to detail in the paper goods, flowers, candles and all across the event. Ines&Marie were wonderful with managing a lot of last minute changes that were out of our control, and their organization and positivity throughout the coordination made the whole event stress-free. I was worried about planning a wedding in Detroit when I lived in Atlanta (then moved to Denver), but Meisha made it so easy. She went to some of my vendor meetings and had plenty of vendor referrals for any need that came up (I bought my dream dress from her referral). She was responsive, thorough, knowledgeable, a great listener, and accommodating. I was blown away by the lighting (worth every penny) and décor, and even though I didn’t want silk flowers, she made them look SO good that someone asked to have one! Overall, we were wowed, provided quality service, and I would recommend Dream Celebrations, Inc. to friends, family, and anyone looking for a fabulous wedding without stressing on the details.My advice to anyone looking to hire Dream Celebrations would be to be upfront and realistic with your budget (a lot of cost I didn’t think about came up as changes occured), be detailed with the description of your dream wedding (Meisha’s a wow expert and can make it happen!), and trust her judgment. My only suggestion to the company is to look at offering more services (snacks for bridal party AND groomsmen, people get hungry, especially the kids in the wedding) and being able to offer more not currently in the package like handling the wedding announcement in the newspaper. The more items you hire Dream Celebrations for, the easier your wedding will be, BOOK HER!

She went to venues, makes centerpieces, and works with your budget. If I didn't have a day of coordinator, I would had not enjoyed my special day. I didn't lift a finger and no one asked me silly questions. My reception looked like a dream!! She even surprised us with a game show during dinner!! The game show made my wedding so unique. The icing on the cake was my husband (who complained about money the whole time) said getting a coordinator was money well spent!

My now husband and I had the honor of having her as our wedding decorator and she made both the ceremony and reception a dream come true!!!! I knew everything would look nice but I didn't expect it to blow me and my guests out of the water. She is very patient!!! Very kind, very professional and she will work with you no matter the situation. Most of our meetings had to be done via FaceTime and Phone because of my location but she still treated me as if we were face to face the whole way through and I was more than satisfied and throughly impressed with her work and her mannerism! I would recommend her to anyone!!! Affordable and A1! We will see you again for baby showers when we start to have children and for upcoming parties!!!!!!!
