Claire H: They might do fine work on Juki and Consew machines (for which they are an authorized sales and service center). Unfortunately, their work with Pfaff machines leaves much to be desired. They adjusted the machine timing and foot lift for a shorter needle system which is a standard needle type for Juki and Consew machines, but not correct for Pfaff. While similar to the needle sysem used in some Pfaff machines, the machine I brought them is specifically designed for a longer needle and high knee lift to accomodate thick leather. This capability has been limited by their improper adjustment. Update: after inspecting the machine more closely, additional issues were discovered. The when the needle descended below to catch the lower thread, the bobbin hook was hitting the needle and bending it out of the way to complete the rotation. Had this issue been allowed to persist, there would have been serious damage to the machine.

So you wouldn't have to worry about dealing with someone who isn't educated in their products. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in sewing machines.
Mabel Flowers: I took my machine in thinking that I had a major issue. I wasn't able to sew on very light fabric. It turns out that I had put the needle in incorrectly. Nacho cleaned up the machine, showed me how to install my needle properly, and impressed me with his knowledge of the sewing machines he works on. He is truly a craftsman at his trade.

I noticed it needed a new presser foot but when I arrived, it needed a lot more in order to start working properly. The staff was so helpful and friendly! They got my machine up and running for a great price and showed me how to thread it. You can tell they enjoy sewing and helping share that experience with others. Kay Wood: Very poor customer service. Was told I would not be able to input my phone number as cashier had other matters to tend to. I’m pretty sure it could have been inserted within the amount of time it took to tell me no and explain other things that needed to be done. Same employee outside smoking cigarettes and talking on the phone as I walked up to enter store.

Only basic supplies. You’ll probably need to shop elsewhere. Specialty items are lacking. Could use more inventory. Haven’t found any clearance items. Only regular priced items. Or storage containers which were 50% off. Luckily, we didn’t buy anything. Shopping for cars was going to start later. And we were not sure if we parked in a legit spot. Really no place to park. Every spot (3 total!) was taken. But Kerby Park had lots of parking available. Also, saw someone just park their car on Public Drive. Definitely would not return.

Tee Cakes: For this to be a Grosse Pointe business, it is basic at best. Parking is not the greatest as you have to park in a back lot and walk to the building. Not sure if I'd feel safe at night. The store itself feels a bit dated and the selection was not the best. I ended up driving to about 10 miles away to Michaels in Roseville for a better experience.
