The Kitchen, by Cooking with Que: what do users think?
Joseph Garcia: The food was incredibly delicious and 100% vegan! The staff were attentive and friendly. I loved the decor, the ambience, and their tranquil playlist of Neo-Soul and Chill Wave music in the background. Such a beautiful eatery with beautiful souls. Totally recommend! ❤️

Tim Hoad: Team building experience was okay. Food was… fine.
Jennifer Ferlito: We hosted a bachelorette party evening at Cooking with Que. We did a chef battle and had the best time. Que was engaging and fun and her staff was incredibly accommodating. It was such a great girls evening. We were well taken care of and had all the good fun! Thank you so much Team Que!
Rana: WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!New Discovery!I don’t know where to start. Que is lively and engaging. She makes sure you have a good time, good food, good experience. Ezra was the absolute best! I am a plant based eater. My boyfriend is a vegan. They were so accommodating, without a thought, in a heartbeat. We enjoyed the Vinyl, Vino, and Vibes class tonight. We ate good, and learned how to pair wines with certain foods. We. Will. Be. Back. With our albums! Thank you!
Latasha Mack: I recently had the pleasure of attending a ramen cooking class with my son, a Wayne State Medical Student, who enjoy cooking. It was truly an incredible experience for us. The class was held in a beautiful kitchen with a warm, inviting atmosphere. Our instructor was not only knowledgeable, but also very passionate about cooking. She was patient and approachable, and made everyone feel comfortable in the kitchen. She provided clear instructions and demonstrations, and was always available to answer any questions we had.Throughout the class, we learned a variety of new techniques for cooking homemade miso ramen and gyoza It made us all excited to try out in our own kitchen. The instructor provided helpful tips and tricks that I wouldn't have learned anywhere else. One of my favorite parts of the class was the opportunity to work alongside the other participants. We collaborated and learned from each other, which made the class even more enjoyable. To top it all off, we got to enjoy the delicious dishes we had created at the end of the class. The food was amazing, and it was a joy to sit down and enjoy it together as a group.Overall, I would highly recommend this cooking class to anyone who loves food and wants to improve their cooking skills. It was a fantastic experience that I will never forget! The owner Q, helped me to surprise my son after class with a basket filled with amazing essentials when he has a little break away from the books. What a beautiful, thoughtful and vibrant spirit she has.Truly grateful to have meet her and to be apart of such an incredibleclass. We look forward to joining more classes in the near future.Kudos to Q's team, they absolutely rock!!May God continue to Bless!!

Andrea 1994: This restaurant was absolutely amazing. Don’t worry about parking simply scale the surrounding blocks for ample parking. The staff was so warm and welcoming and we’re definitely accommodating with all of our questions. I highly recommend the The “D” Block breakfast sandwich as well as the lavender lemonade in my opinion it was just right. And not too sweet! The sweet potato cheesecake was amazing I had to get two slices to go. Overall the atmosphere location and staff presence will definitely be bringing me and my family back again for around two.
Julian B: They can cook ya heard ! The food was fiyah 🔥
Huyen Tran Nguyen (Lithium Dragon): Delicious! Quality food and made with a passion for health without sacrificing flavor at all. Highly recommend!Dietary restrictions: Vegan and Gluten free options

Lynn Jones: I visit this restaurant for the first time this week. The food was good enough to come back a second time although the portions were small for the price. The second time was disappointing.I paid $10 for 4 small pieces of Buffalo cauliflower that weren’t even fully coated in Buffalo sauce and looked white and were also cold. I hate to put a bad review but the food was very upsetting and felt like a waste of money. For the price, the food should be On point everytime .
E-Rhonda Miller: Excellent food and service. Can't wait to visit there again!
Jeff Kingzett: Great, flavorful whole food, plant based menu! Bright, clean, fresh atmosphere. Friendly, attentive staff. Reasonable prices.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Selden Standard: what do users think?
Bruce Seiler: Pricey but tasty. I love having the small plates come out separately. Not having all the food at once allows me to enjoy rhw different tastes more. We loved our waitress, Kyla M. She was amazing. Very helpful and provided great service. We started with the oysters, which were amazing. We moved on to the roasted potatoes and asparagus. The potatoes were baked to perfection, and the asparagus was just the right amount of crunchy. We finished Edith the Papperdelle. The many different flavors melded wonderfully together to provide a mouthful of wonderful. For desert, we opted for the Panna Cotta. We were weary of the rhubarb, but it worked well. Enjoy the experience.

Loreta Geneviciute: Amazing restaurant ! My husband and I visited this place September of 2022 and we both agreed that we will come back to Detroit just to eat at this place again. We love all the food we had and drinks were delicious! If you ever visit Detroit this place should be at the top of your restaurant list.
Stephanie O'Callaghan: Since it opened, it’s been one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Always meets or exceeds expectations. Love the vibe, the decor, etc and more importantly love the food. It’s fresh and creative, flavorful and doesn’t sit heavy. I like the Mediterranean vibe but they don’t limit themselves creatively. The pastas are always phenomenal. The veggie dishes delicious and thoughtful. I love sitting at the chefs counter and watching them work the open fire and coal oven spaces. Great beverage list too! Highly recommend. I always stop here when I’m in the area.
Alex: One of the best dining experiences I've had in Michigan. Started off with the cocktail called immediate detour. I was pleasantly surprised how tasty the drink was given I'm usually underwhelmed by restaurant cocktails. The food was amazing. I was able to try the green salad, roasted broccoli, roasted pasnips, roasted potatoes, cacio e pepe, chittara, and beef tartare. All were excellent, but the pastas (cacio e pepe and chittara) and the roasted potatoes were my favorite. I tried the horchata tres leche cake for dessert. I've never tried this style of cake before and I wasn't a big fan, but it was good to try something new. I also tasted a bit of the pecan pie -- highly recommended. Looking forward to trying this place out again.

Todays Present: This was a perfect dining experience. Ryan is the best waiter. After coming here again, I will request him every time. He gives excellent recommendations and his descriptions ensure there are no surprises. I loved everything we had here. The sweet potato pasta and the mushrooms were my absolute favorite. The broccoli was great, but very spicy. The duck on toast was divine! The tri tip and the raspberry tart were just okay (I wouldn't order again). I enjoyed having the dining room reservation, the communal reservation would be too loud/close and not my type of experience. The scallops were spicy but irresistible. The hake is the only thing I’ve ever tried here that did not meet the standards of the rest of the food. It was mushy and inedible. I wasn’t told if this was a fluke or by design. But I would not recommend the hake.
Sanam Sharif: Good place. Good food. Good service. Family style dining. Has a good vibe and ambiance.
E Vaughan: Have been here several times, but this time, my daughter, who is highly allergic to tree nuts, came along. I was able to notify Selden Standard at the time of making the reservation. The staff got the message and were ready for us. The staff was extremely careful and accommodating. We are grateful for their kind attention.Recommended dishes Lamb Chops …More
Juliette Okotie-Eboh: Rude manager and hostess staff— I have dined there frequently over the years and always had a great experience until today. Their behavior was racist and very upsetting— I will never return!! Must be new management — I did not see the folks who were always gracious and welcoming. Our server was fine but I was throughly insulted, especially by the manager. What a disappointment.
DCHS Library: Best food that I have eaten in Detroit since we moved here a decade and a half agoVegetarian options: celery root parmigiana is amazing
zachary campbell: I came here for my birthday. Everything was great! I Will definitely be back again!Recommended dishes Lamb Chops …More
Nicole T: Am I the only one confused by all these 4 star reviews?? I think it’s by childless millennial hipsters who think they are dining in an upscale Manhattan atmosphere. I found NOTHING about this place appealing - except the waitress who was very kind and attentive. The menu is extremely overpriced with froufrou stuff and small portions. And how are charging over $20 for vegetables?? $18 for some cooked cheese? Tiny little portions . We had 3 “‘meals” and shared 3 appetizers and still weren’t full. To top it off, I got extreme food poisoning from there. I don’t mind paying more for a good dinner, but at least include some sides and have more salad choices. Not very impressed in the least bit. I’d rather spend my money elsewhere where at least you get good portion size- and not dishes that were created for someone’s Instagram “aesthetic”Vegetarian options: More vegetarian options than actual meat
Bridget Finn: All time favorite forever. ♥️
Nicole Castro: Great food and service. It can be pretty loud, so if you are sensitive, you may want to consider going at off hours. The tres leches cake was wonderful.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Oysters on the Half Shell …More
Jose: Food is always amazingMainstays are their ragu, particularly the Lamb.Recently the Spanish Fried Rice has been a joy.Drinks are always deliciously refreshing.End your evening with a shot of Fernet and a stroll around Midtown.

William Vosotros: Food was wonderful. The fennel & endive salad was good. Cacio e Pepe was great! The lamb ribs were soft and cooked really well. The agrodolce and lemon yogurt works really well with the lamb. The green sauce elevates the grilled chicken flavor. Both the cod & bass were awesome! Overall it was a truly wonderful gastronomic experience.Parking: Limited parking on the side back of the restaurant but lots of parking on the street as well as the vacant lot on the front of restaurant.

Joshua Golembiewski: Took my mom out for lunch here. Such an admirable little setup. Wish my neighbor did this! Everything tastes great, especially the ribs.
Ronnika Kelly: Service and food was great
K. Gordish: Kind service and a home cooked meal. Decided to make a visit after reading about in the newspaper. Baked beans were hot; however, corn was cold and smoked sausage was also served cold. If food was prepared ahead of time would appreciated if it was warmed prior to serving.
Devon: Mr.Doris is so sweet and the food was amazing.
Tre Pelto: Food is excellent! The ladies are such sweethearts too! Go there! I can't wait until I can get some collard greens from there!

Yvette Rice: I read an article in the Free Press about this wonderful southern woman and her outdoor restaurant. I decided to give it a try. I had the catfish and yellow rice. It was soooooo good. The menu changes daily and I will be back everyday to try everything! I highly recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
Amanda Overholtz: If you haven't been here you have no idea what kind of amazing home cooked food you are missing out on. Mrs. Doris does not mess around. I saw an article in the Freep that was about this little restaurant and the wonderful woman that lived in South Carolina that owns it. I thought to myself well... I need this. I haven't had good soul food since I lived in North Carolina! She did not have greens today due to catering for large parties this past weekend.... but ill be back for just about EVERYTHING! Come out and support this wonderful woman and her amazing skills!
Fabian Gammo: Miss Doris is amazing!
Valerie Wade: Delicious and fast service
Victoria Frasier: Love the food

Robert Swanson: Made a reservation. Wife wanted me to have a nice steak for my birthday dinner. She has an allergy to hazelnuts which the bartender brought up. Well, I wasn't able to order a steak a la cart for some reason, even though they had a locker full of dry aged steak. So, we both got the tasting menu. When it was time for desert, they informed my wife that there is no substitutions, even know she informed them in advance of her allergy. So, we packaged that desert up and gave to the bartender down the road. After spending a small fortune on dinner, we decided that this is not the place to go for any reason other than to throw money away. The bartender was nice. The food came out luke warm. We had to pay extra for a tiny sliver of bone marrow... which wasn't even that good. I don't get it. How do you know of an allergy in advance and still serve it to your guests? Why would you boast about a butcher shop but have no steak on your menu?
Allison Sexton: Can’t believe it’s taken us this long to try Marrow. My husband and I went tonight for the first time and sat at the bar. Our drinks were perfectly balanced and every dish we tried was excellent. Our favorites of the night were the bouillabaisse and Michigan beef (short rib). Can’t wait to return and do the tasting menu.
lakshmi chandran: We had a fantastic dining experience at Marrow tonight. Our waiter was Patrick, and he explained the menu in detail. He was very pleasant and attentive. We decided to try the chef's menu and it was splendid! The high quality ingredients and the different textures and sauces incorporated into each dish made the whole meal a very enjoyable one. We were really full and had to bring some of the desserts home.Thank you to the chef and all the other staff in the kitchen as well as the waiting staff for the hard work that you do. Special thanks to Patrick as well for taking care of us!

B: Not sure what the hype is. Went in to get something from the butcher counter. The hostess didn't say one word and when we got to the counter, no one was around. We stood around for a minute and a woman came out and it was like pulling teeth to get any info about their homemade sausages. We got some anyway and took them home and when we cooked them, they shrunk up SO MUCH due to all the fat in them. They didn't have a good flavor or texture. Wouldn't go back to the meat counter and from what I hear, the service on the other side is horrible too. Never understood that way of customer service where you make the customer feel like they are putting you out. Some overpriced, over-hyped, west village junk
Alan Tecmire: Don’t come hungry. Extremely expensive small portions. Very disappointed. Would not recommend.
Aingeal Jones: Super cool place. Went for a birthday, did the chefs tasting menu, lots of delightful and unique dishes. Cocktails were also good.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Thomas Jackson: Asked the team at Marrow for a mix of steaks to feed my daughter's fiance's bachelor party in Detroit this weekend. Man...did they ever come through! The cuts were all fantastic and the thoughtfulness of the selections was what I could only hope to get from a butcher I had shopped with for years. You have a winner in Marrow, Detroit!
Scott Embrey: What an amazing place to take my wife for lunch on her birthday. Wasn’t busy so we chatted up Maggie the bartender (an energetic sweetheart) who brought out an incredible secret birthday dessert. The mushroom dumplings my wife ordered, “touched her soul” with the amazing flavors & textures. The chef is a top chef & Michelin nominee and we can certainly understand why. Great beer & cocktails and a farm to table butcher shop on site. Amazing!
William Zoufal: Real good sandwiches, drinks, service and good pricesRecommended dishes Duck Breast …More
SARAH Y: Was disrespected on so many levels. Humiliated in front of a business partner, embarrassed!!I have been waiting to try Marrow for awhile and due to Covid, I kept putting it off until recently. The service was the worst ever to say the least. We were rushed in an unbelievable way, felt unwelcomed, no communication for 1st timers, misinformation given on the phone vs the experience, rudeness, completely ignored on multiple occasions . Discriminated against? Perhaps! While I understand the stress the whole world is facing, we do go to restaurants to distress and while i understand the policy of the restaurant to not have servers spend too much time by the tables, the rolling of the eyes was not necessary. I left my table to speak to the manager (Amanda THE GM) and that was where things got worst. Felt really humiliated by her. Smirking at me, rolling her eyes and literally dismissing me back to my table.I was very clear with Amanda "The GM" that I have been embarrassed enough in front of my client and would deal with this issue later. She recited the email address of the owner assuming I can just memorize it. I requested it on paper. Amanda rolled her eyes again and ordered me to the table, even though I made it clear to her that I do not wish to be further embarrassed.10 minutes later, another server comes to the table and asks that I step inside the restaurant. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! After several mentions of how I just want to finish this horrible experience quietly out of courtesy for my guest, how dare you interrupt my dinner to ask me if I want to leave and get a full refund???!!!? And there was never a mention of any refund in any of my prior conversations!! I am not looking for money , I'm looking for respect and courtesy.Unbelievable treatment. At one point, Amanda made sure to mention who the part owner of this place is.This is prepaid service and yes it does include a 20% gratuity. Hard to believe.Real shame how such an establishment (owned by Ping whose other establishments i frequent regularly) was successful at destroying a dinner and an important meeting. And this was caused by an overzealous "GM" Amanda who made sure to mention to me about 5 times that she is the GM (even wrote it on a piece of paper).Ping, Sarah .. I hope you read this and hope you address how your customers are treated. Please train them to show some compassion and courtesy especially during these unprecedented times the world is going through.Update: I have tried to contact the restaurant at the email below and received no response. Thus is so disrespectful and insulting to respond to my review just so other reviewers can see the response. Bad business etiquette this only validates my 1 star rating what a shame
Rob Thomas: I swear every time we come here, it gets better and better. Good, service, drinks and vibe all on point! 👌❤️
Colin Piaskowski (HTA Colin): Love sitting at the bar and watching them make the craft cocktails. Fresh juices are the best. Yes we ate some of the marrow. It was definitely an item that might scare some people but don't be afraid, it was very good.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Kait Helsen: I've been going to Marrow's butcher shop and restaurant consistently since moving to the Indian Village neighborhood last Spring. My husband and I quickly made friends with the staff there, which continues to be one of the biggest reasons we return so often. Every person who works there, from the kitchen to the bar to the butcher, are all dedicated to their craft and service. Whether you go for lunch or dinner, there's always something delicious for everyone in the group. As someone with multiple food allergies, this type of accommodation can be difficult to find, but they are always going far above and beyond to make sure I'm well fed. Ping's other spots - Mink and The Royce - are also very much worth checking out!
Luis Francisco González: Marrow has been, and continues to be, one of the best restaurants in Detroit. The incredible and ever evolving menu is all the reason you should ever need to go back, and if you've never been, prepare to be pleasantly surprised. My last visit we opted for the Chef's Tasting menu and were treated to course after beautiful course of gorgeously prepared dishes consisting of completely novel and delicious blends like scallops with a fig and olive caramel, or marrow custard donuts. The service is just as incredible as the food. Everyone from the hosts to the servers was friendly and attentive, also taking the time to properly describe every course. The only difficulty you may encounter is parking as there is no real dedicated parking to speak of but we were able to park on a side street with ease.
Thony Perrudin: Well, some efforts but that was way too much flavors put all together in the same plate! Please keep it simple and put the quality of the product first….Very disappointing.

Charles & Tamara Johns: This place is awesome. Update 5/14/23: As a family we hadn't been here in about 4 years. For a Mother's Day, I thought it might be a bit busier. Be prepared that it will be a little chilly. They keep it cool inside. You will also be charged an extra ,75 for ranch dressing. Food took a while to be served but that might have been a staffing issue. There wasn't a lot of staff present, i.e. there was one waitress. The chicken was really hot and tasted fresh. The okra was warm. The greens were really good. Our waitress was very friendly.
Jazmine Dewitt: Door dashed this place I ordered Mac and cheese potato salad and greens for sides never got the Mac but they doubled the sides for the greens and potato saladChicken was super greasy and spicy which I don’t recall ordering spicy chicken side were disgustingEnded up ordering more foodNever again

Ms. Tema M. Battle (Tema Bema): Was in Detroit for a funeral and decided to check out the World Famous Gus's Hot & Spicy Chicken 🔥 🐔 😋 .Walked in on a Monday afternoon, which was not busy at all. Was immediately welcomed and greeted with a smile 😃. They asked if we were dining in and told us to sear ourselves.Immediately was a greeter came over and gave us menus and drinks.Once food was ordered, it came out surprisingly fast, hot, great... no complaints. Chicken was crispy, juicy, and seasoned to perfection 💞 👌Can not say anything but wonderful things about Gus's!!!!If you’re EVER in Detroit, it is a must !!

Janette Flores: Their spicy mayo has to be one of the spicies one I've had so far! The food is delicious considering the area it's located. There is no dine-in and their ordering area is extremely small for the amount of business they get. If you are walking to this area there is no waiting area inside so Def recommend taking a seat next to the DIA building while you wait for your food to be ready! But even so the wait time is never long.

Ahmet Sert: Don't waste your time and money going to this place. It's not cheap and service literally doesn't exist. They make you walk through 3 rooms just to sit you down on a street bench and serve you with foam boxes. The sushi is mediocre, pork chops are cold and they serve you vegetable tempura when you actually order shrimp tempura. Never coming back.

Zarinah El-Amin: I have NEVER just thrown my food away while still hungry, but that's exactly what I did here. I should have turned around when I saw the way they presented the restaurant and the fact that there was no one else there, and no proper seating, but I decided to give it a try. I was treating my friend for her birthday. I ordered beef bibimbop, one of my fav dishes. She ordered the spicy seafood bibimbop. My lil bit of meat was bland and cold. The rest of the meal unseasoned and room temp. Her dish was spicy but she said it tasted like the shrimp were not clean and that while spicy, it was underseasoned. I literally threw my food away in the "dumpster" they reserve for people who dit down. She didn't want to throw hers away in front of me, but she too stopped eating. $45 down the drain. I didn't think to complain while there or ask for my money back, but later when telling another friend about this horrendous experience, I found out I should have done that. This place is a big fat NO.
에바이안: Pretty interesting lunch today!Take out only!Rolls were fresh and pretty good
Hector M: Good food but they keep raising the prices and not by 1 dollar but by 5 to 6 dollars. Crazy. Wish that wasn't the case would have order from them everyday.

Grey Ghost Detroit: what do users think?
BlaQ Bueer: Asher, thank you so much for the phenomenal service and kindness. We are now cognac fans…. And will be back to visit you!The food was great. I had the Bavette steak… which was fire. The only feedback I have for my dish is a suggestion to use less tomato jam. It’s tasty, but I’d prefer a lingering want of more rather than having more than I need. Either way… it was great. My partner had the walleye. It was a bit salty for us but still good.Drinks were a 10/10. Each one. Kudos to this place.
Jason: This place is really exceptional and it’s our favorite go to spot. All of the food is great, but we always have to get the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer and the burgers and fries for dinner now. The burgers are out of this world. Cannot recommend them enough!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Brussels Sprouts with Chicken Skin, French Fries …More
Janelle Winter: Great dinner with exceptional service. Our server really knew their stuff! Loved the menu options and the ambiance was cool. No free parking which I found odd but there was free parking a block away so no biggie.
Kanishk Bakshi: I had a pork shank and boy it was delicious. Seems a bit expensive though. So, it was not good for the price. But given the ambience and plating and taste of food, Pork Shank was great.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
KiKi Dasher: I was looking for a restaurant not too far from the Fox theater because I was attending a concert with my son. I tried to make reservations online and had difficulty. I spoke to a nice young lady and she got me a reservation. I’ve never been to this restaurant and our sever Ibrahim was very attentive and he suggested a cocktail that complimented my meal. We were asked about special occasions or dietary restrictions and that was awesome. The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant was clean. The food and service was excellent and I’m sure I’ll be back.
Sandra Renee: Great range of cocktails!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes French Fries …More
Katie Kleisner: Our first time here- everything was tops. Beautiful restaurant, amazing food and drinks, plus a fabulous & attentive staff. Shout out to Chef Joe for his extra hospitality! Memorable experience in the best way, thank you!!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Eric Lindsay: This is a must stop for anyone in Detroit. Make a reservation as it does fill up every night. Its my fav burger in Detroit but everything on the menu is a must try. Everything is made in house and it shows, the drinks are just as good if not better than the food as well so indulge when you go.
Michael Taillard: An excellent restaurant experience. Great service, great cocktails, great atmosphere. The food menu relies heavily on obvious things that fail to showcase the culinary talents of the chefs (e.g.: oysters, steaks, etc.) buy the food is still very good. The wine list, while limited, is impeccable. Definitely worth the trip.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Lola Meyers: Best shareable plates + cocktails. Always 10/10 date night spot
Dezerai Monique: It was a great night the ambience was good nice atmosphere. I ordered the lamb and really wanted to like it was terrible like they just put tomato paste water down on top of it how can lamb not be tender and moist? It was dry bland horrible just horrible. I found nothing to like about the meal. Besides the drinks were good. I see why it's called GHOST...
Kelly Marie: I think this place has a lot of potential. I worked in the service industry for a while and I expect a certain level of decency from staff. The general manager did not seem to have that. I was accused of feeding a backserver caviar which never actually happened. I apologize if my verbiage came off wrong- please show me your cameras. My group was cut off and we decided it was best to leave as the vibe was off. You know, nobody fell over, no one yelled, I was accused of making “slurs” and honestly we just came in for some late night food around 9 pm. I’m still not sure what the real issue was. I’m so over spending 300Plus dollars to be treated like trash. If the owner is reading this- please reach out. I’ve been coming here for years and your GM needs an attitude adjustment.

Terry Hughes: One of the oldest bars in the city. It's just a cool dive bar but don't let that put you off: incredibly friendly owners and staff who really care, lots of great beers on tap, and a unique old bar that oozes character. I had the Cobb Salad ... wow, see pic. Everything was fresh, and the owner told me they source the food locally from the market every few days, I could tell. Such a large and fresh tasting salad. Served with a smile. I will be back 100%. Thanks guys for making me welcome (I was on my own).
Valerie Wininger: My food came out burnt, and they tried to cover it by smothering it in gravy. Beer was good, but didn’t make up for the kitchen staffs disregard for quality. Will likely be back to give them another shot. Will change my rating if necessary!
Jason Damico: Went here after a concert at St. Andrews for a midnight snack. Had pretzels with their cheese beer sauce and it was pretty damn good.
Shakyrra Irish: Been going to this place for years. Great selection of foreign beer. They carry whiskey and vodka as well. Food is so good. Many items are from the fatherland. Staff, service is pretty good. Atmosphere can be chill or pretty lively depending on day and time. One of me favorite places to stop at when downtownFood: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Troy Kerby: Love this bar! It's surprisingly great food for such a small little dive in Detroit. Historic building for sure (just use the restroom, and you'll see the ceilings are so low 😂). Turned on some tunes with the AMI jukebox, had some drinks, and ate some great food. All on Easter Sunday. Will definitely come back sometime when seeing a show over at Saint Andrew's Hall.

Mirepoix Cooking School: what do users think?
Misty Quick: Our group had an AMAZING time during the Cinco de Mayo cooking class! It was great to watch everyone work together and hear family kitchen stories. Now to bring these recipes home to recreate. Thank you so much!
Carrie Elliott: I signed my boyfriend and I up for the gnocchi class. We loved it! Chef Danielle and the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. The class was well-organized and timed perfectly. The food was delicious and we were even allowed to take home leftovers. It was also super nice that we didn’t have to clean up our own dirty dishes! I would definitely take another class here.
Ian Guswiler: Had a wonderful time at the Italian Kitchen Date night! The chefs were very knowledgeable and friendly, and the class was setup very well. Will definitely be going back for another class!
Kyle Bramlett: Had an amazing class. The instructor was awesome. We had Mexican night in light of Cinco de mayo. Learned a bunch of things I thought I knew but apparently didn't and have been doing it wrong for years. I'm not one for cooking but it was fun and interesting learning how to with a group. Kind of weird to get to but totally worth it. Highly recommend going to a class.
Sarah Blachura: Great class! My husband and I attended the Indian cooking class. great chef instructors, well stocked kitchen and ended up with a wonderful meal that we will replicate many times at home! We will be back!
Eric Lundquist, Jr.: My wife planned a surprise birthday party for me at Mirepoix in which our guests were split into teams in an Iron Chef type cooking competition. It was a blast that everyone enjoyed. At the end, we all sat down for a family style dinner eating the food we had just made. Chef Daniela and her staff were so much fun and even the seasoned cooks in the crowd learned something. I highly recommend the experience! Well done Chef Daniela and crew!
Bill Otto: This was a great experience. Great teacher and staff. The food we cooked/prepared was amazing.
Kari Beall: Food was great and the kitchen is well equiped so you don't have to share tools. It was more controlled chaos than other classes I have been to. I think they should pre-measure or at least prepare the ingredients for ease of use. It was a free for all and no one really knew what was where with the ingredients. Trying to portion a pound of butter into tbs slices with only a plastic knife (not provided but stolen from the cheese plate supplies) was pretty frustrating and unnecessarily stressful. But I think it was just because they are relatively new. It all worked out, but doing more prep with the ingredients would make things feel more professional and well organized. Even with that though I would definitely sign up for another class, it was a good time!
Susan Lupo: Excellent instructor in Chef Danielle. All the staff was attentive and courteous.. Friendly and knowledgeable. Made for a great learning experience. Would recommend highly!
Cexc Shalet: Had so much fun in my cooking class. I suggest you sign up for a class.
Abigail Robinson: I attended a cooking class with a group of girls for a bachelorette party and it was such a fun experience! Chefs Daniela and Audrey were fantastic. I highly recommend!!
Sarah Horn: Such a fun experience! The chef was a great instructor and the food was delicious and plentiful.
Amber Ainsworth: My fiancée booked the In Tacos We Trust class for us as a Christmas gift. It was so much fun, everything was explained well, and the food turned out great. We hadn’t done a cooking class before, so I was a bit nervous, but it was wonderful.
Stephanie Groesser: I was gifted a voucher for me and my boyfriend and it turned out to be an amazing date night!! The head chef/instructor was really great and the bartender was super friendly. We made amazing Italian dishes with our table. 10/10 recommend & will likely go back for another class again!
Samantha Phillips: Participated in our first class and absolutely loved it! The staff was organized, skillful, and very friendly - always willing to answer a question and cheer you on when things looked good! It was so nice at the end of the night to sit down with our fellow classmates and enjoy our delicious creations. Can’t wait to go back!
Taimur Hassan: Most haraam menu ever. Gnocchi…in vodka sauce. Chicken…wrapped in prosciutto. Lamb meatballs…with ground pork. Croquettes…with ham. Tiramisu…with rum. Sensing a pattern here?Kind of hilarious menu, as if an enemy sabotaged everything I could have eaten here. We were here for our firm’s holiday party. All that said, the experience was fun and without my particular dietary restrictions, probably would have been even more enjoyable.
Silvester Habba: Such a great experience, good atmosphere! Chef was super helpful and answering our questions and was a great instructor. It took a bit to find the location but overall it was super fun and a great date night idea
Ansab Waheed: Chef Daniella and her team were great. Explained everything clearly. The whole process was pretty straightforward and we ended with some delicious food, even though we weren’t all experienced cooks. A fun group activity!
Paul Sielinsky: Company event here yesterday, had a cook off blast. Chefs were great, easy to work with and eager to help and answer any questions. Oh the food was great also! Definitely recommend!
Ali Iaquinto: My mom and I made delicious pasta last night in the Homemade Pasta Class! Chef Daniela is a great teacher and we will definitely go back for more classes!
Ally Rooker: Great date night activity!

Mabel Gray: what do users think?
Chester Walker: One of the best award winning restaurants in Metro Detroit. The service is impeccable, I’ve never had a bad dish here! Great for date nights, lunch or just a drink!Recommended dishes Cucumber Carpaccio, Hamachi Crudo, Beverage Pairing, Mushroom Carpaccio Lemon Vinaigreffe Conserva Pesto Pinenut Crumble …More
Outside Eater: Sorry can’t agree with other reviewers. Food is good but nothing spectacular. Great presentation, nice time. If someone never experienced tasting menu, then it’s worth it as it’s slightly cheaper tasting menu that you can find. Most Michelin star tasting menus will run you at least twice as much. It’s started off great, first 3 courses were amazing then it became average for the rest of the meal.
Wolfgang Dorsch: Mabel Gray is one of those places which always deliver; and not just for the connoisseur, but for the novice alikeI've taken my 17yr old kid, a mid-20's coworker, and a party of 40-something foodies, and the result was (predictably) the same:"Holy moly, this is (among) the best meals I've ever had!!"Not an easy task, and to take it even further I'm also coming away with that impression every time - consistently and repeatedly. The wait staff is fabulous, and the food is simply fantastic. Can't wait to come back for one of the next "...best meals I've ever had!!"
Mike DeGregory: Always an amazing experience. This isn't a traditional restaurant; menu changes weekly/daily with an incredible curation of ingredients. The staff are wonderful and incredibly knowledgeable.Dietary restrictions: Accommodated gluten free
Laura C: The food was outstanding but several comments made by the wait person about not exceeding the 90 minute limit really takes away from the experience. We ordered the tasting so at the 90 minute mark, we still had 2 more courses. Finally, as we left we observed many open tables. This policy should be reevaluated.

Steve Douglas: Very good, actually decent price considering how good the food is, especially the 8 course tasting menu. Also they have MGDFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Steak Tartare …More
Shari Fox: Here for first time with daughter and husband. We loved it. We all had the tasting menu. Be adventurous and try it all!
Christina Neal: The food, cocktails and service were all great! Each dish we had we would order again. The Sea Bream was such a light, tasty dish while the shepherds pie was hearty, filling and comforting. The ham toast and the beet salad were both great as well. We sat on the patio and it happened to be one of the first nice days of the season. It was a nice atmosphere to eat, have a cocktail and enjoy a date night.
Tracy Tighe: Positive, happy, and helpful. The process from start to finish was fantastic. The arrangements were the most beautiful I have ever seen and complimented the baby shower at the Whitney perfectly with their elegance.

Shraavan Ravindranath: Well this is THE place to experience luxury food. No other explanation exists. Super fancy and equally expensive, it's totally worth the experience. If you're a foodie and want to treat yourself, try their tasting menu. Can't talk about specific food items because the menu changes constantly but I'll leave with this. The chef is super talented and there maybe dishes you may not like but no way you'd regret it. He pushes culinary rules all the way and some misses are unavoidable. Going in with an open mind would help blow it away!
